I always enjoy visiting this local American-style restaurant. The food is consistently good, the prices are reasonable, and the service is solid. But the highlight for me is always the dessert—especially the cakes and cupcakes. Their carrot cake is the most moist and flavorful I've ever had, and the rest of their cake selection never disappoints. If you're in the area, definitely stop by—even if it’s just for a slice of their five-star carrot cake!

They're too rude. They make you feel like you wasted your money. It's not the waitresses. It's the hosts and owners. Yesterday, the old white lady was very mean when I was paying for my food. I felt like I wasted my money. I called today to see if a certain waitress was there so I wouldn't waste my time going. After the conversation, he hung up too fast. I didn't even get to say thank you. Very rude. The food is okay, but the front service is terrible. Not the waitresses, but the cashiers/owners.

I have never been in a restaurant as disgusting as this one. There’s mold growing on the walls, dirty tables, rust, you name it. The interior has not been updated or touched in at least 30 years.
The entire building is nasty. This restaurant needs to be shut down by the city immediately. The bread is wonder bread bagged individually - in dirty reused bags. I’ve never seen anything like this in my life. One of the members in our party got extremely sick on the way home. Please do not go here yall! It’s disgusting.

If you're looking for a quiet neighborhood family restaurant, this is the place to go. Simple, good variety on the menu. Your typical diner food menu. The type of people are working, older, retired vet, families etc..nice people. The price is good and reasonable for the type of food. I've had breakfast and lunch there, nice portions for the price. Meat skillet, and Belgian walffle, lemonade for breakfast. Breaded chicken wrap with fries for lunch. Waitstaff I had were good and friendly.

The website advertises that they are open until 7:30 and the signs on the front door says dine-in available until 7:00. Last week, I went in past 7 to order carry-out and the man at the desk had no problem taking my order. Today when I tried to do the same, it was a different person at the desk and they said they are closed. I pointed out that the front door says they are closed for DINE-IN. They just said the kitchen is closed. Funny, because that was not the case last week and I just wanted one item for carry-out. I told them that they should change their signs because they just wasted my time with their false advertising.

Now, if there was a problem that required them to close earlier than advertised and explained that, then I would just accept that. Instead, they just said they were closed as if they did not feel like working until the advertised closing time.

Too bad their food is good and I like some of the people that work there. Otherwise, I’d give a 1-Star review. But, I am definitely not giving them any more of my money if they act like they can just pick and choose when to serve customers instead of adhering to their own advertised hours. Hell, at least McDonald’s employees will at least lie and give a plausible excuse when they don’t feel like serving customers. Overall, this was my favorite place to eat and I am very disappointed.

On top of it, nobody from the establishment even seems to bother looking at the reviews. No appreciation comments for good reviews or even half-baked apologies for negative reviews. I certainly don’t expect a response for ever review left since there are dozens of them, but is always encouraging when a business shows at least some engagement with reviews online reviews because it demonstrates to the public that they value our feedback and do not just ignore constructive criticism. With that, I doubt my review will make much of a difference, but I hope it at least helps other consumers.

Usually when you walk in to a place your welcomed. Not here! The two who were at the front desk stood a couple feet away, never greeted us nor smiled, gave stupid looks at each other, then came up to us and told us there was a 15 minute waiting time. One waitress there has a chief mentality as though she is part owner. Her energy is very negative, she can't deal with a complaint and ego has been bothered now for over a year. I refuse to stop patronizing this business I've been coming here since forever. Management should have never revealed the source because her Tuesday and Saturdays are now bothered by my presence. The restaurant owners and other staff are A1. The bus guys are the sweetest but it's always that one. She has even told them she will not wait on me and they allow it. Haven't been here in a while. The place is definitely showing it's age. The building needs some TLC. Even the signage is looking bad and not all working. If you have never been here before you might not want to stop.
There was a group of us, we got seated immediately. The place was about half full. There were other groups of people have a good time.
The table was clean, but had a sticky surface, everything stuck to the surface, like the coffee cups, and even the napkins.
The service was very good. The coffee kept coming, and the order was all taken and served properly. Everything that we had was good. Big portions and most of us had take out containers for leftovers.

One thing about Milwaukee restaurants is do not judge the quality based on the outside appearance! From the outside The Family Table doesn’t look appeal it looks run down and like it’s been there for years but when you get inside you get the feel of any other family style restaurant in the city.

One of the main reasons I love this place is the staff. A majority of their morning service staff is elderly women but they are some of the sweetest people you’ll meet. Not only are the extremely nice but patient. Anyone who goes out to eat with kids know it sometimes takes a minute or two to get situated to order.

The food here is always good and consistent. I’ve never had a bad experience when it comes to the quality of food. The price has increased over time but which restaurant hasn’t after COVID and other factors. This is a great place to grab a bite to eat if you’re staying at one of the surrounding hotels but don’t want to take a drive into the city.

They have upgraded the inside, and it is looking so much better 😊 Now it matches the quality of their staff and their food (which is top tier). SO many options for food, and desserts are wonderful.
