If you aren't a kid or someone with a little appetite, don't come here. I paid $27 for the pick 2 combo (I asked for all south side rib tips & 2 loaded baked potatoes). I ended up getting 6 ribs (which werent rib tips) and 2 loaded baked potatoes (which they were out of so they gave me loaded mashed potatoes). If you want to get a meal that will actually fill you up, expect to pay a minimum of $60 per person. I am so upset and embarrassed that I went here. Im upset for obvious reasons but embarrassed because my boyfriend was hungry and was tired of the same food we always eat. I was looking up different places and told him about Famous Daves and he said heck yeah sounds good! Well, I ordered the pick TWO combo which means two meats and I said spare ribs for both meats. Y'all.... I got 6 ribs which means 3 ribs come with the pick one meal I was originally going to get him. They are dead wrong for that. The 3 ribs should be a kid meal not an adult meal! Then it's $4 to add an extra TWO ribs onto the combo!! I went back in thinking there was something wrong with my order but nope! Then they wanted to charge me $17 for an extra 5 ribs cause I didnt get extra when I paid... like I seriously can't make this up. I declined and started driving home... very slow... because I was trying to think of what I could do or where I could go to get more food. I just wasted my boyfriends $27 on a kids meal. I knew he would be upset if I brought that home to him cause it's an insult to give a grown man 6 ribs. So I had to stop at another place and get more food!! So either treat yourself to a $60 meal that will hopefully get you somewhat full, or just don't even bother coming here cause you will be upset if you think this BBQ place gives you a good amount for their prices. I actually have never been to a BBQ place that doesn't load up your plate for the price you pay. I'm actually shocked and don't understand it. The people that come here must have never been to an authentic BBQ place or just like spending big money for a light snack before they get an actual meal somewhere else.

Update; My boyfriend just finished the food and said it was the worst BBQ he's ever had. The ribs had a couple bites of meat so mostly bone and they were very dry. He's still very hungry so luckily I got him an actual meal from a different place.

I normally don’t leave low reviews but I figured it might shine some light on an issue that will hopefully be resolved. By far the worst ribs I’ve ever had, even after I removed the membrane myself. Brisket was dry and nearly inedible. Chicken and sides were fine but that was about it as far as food goes. Service was great and the staff was wonderful. Just have to work on getting their main meals straightened out and it would be a great place to eat.

This place was great! They changed it up a bit inside but it looks so much more inviting now. The staff was very friendly, the food was amazing and the cornbread was delicious! We ordered the full rack of ribs dinner for 2. The wedges were okay, the mac and cheese was very good and the ribs were very meaty and tasty! They have about 4 different BBQ sauces on the table that you can try with the ribs as well. With the cornbread, it was so good that we wanted to get some to go and luckily they have a pack of 5 or I think it was 16 for a very resonable price! just got done eating. Ordered online and picked up on 27th and Edgerton. My husband had ribs and I had to have the burnt ends, I order them everytime we eat bbq. The burnt ends had maybe 10 very small squares that were not "burnt" and a few frys. I am not a big eater, but they just left me wanting more. For $14.00 I just expected a better portion. I placed an online order and had issues with the payment, but the manager was very quick to fix it! I called ahead and he met me at the online ordering window and was able to ring me up correctly. Everyone I dealt with at the restaurant was very friendly and helpful. I don’t order takeout very often, but I thought I would try it today. I have had at other restaurants where the takeout portion is much smaller than the dine in portion. I believe today was not the case! I ordered three brisket dinners, and all of them were excellent! For a chain barbecue place this is probably the best barbecue brisket I’ve ever had! I still don’t get the White toast thing, but the brisket was so flavorful and juicy. You didn’t even need the sauce! The food was hot and fresh, and it was even still warm by the time I got home! It is on the expensive side, but now that I know it is the best brisket in the area, I can see why the prices are what they are. We will definitely be returning! Not what it used to be! We stopped for lunch, and we're very disappointed. Higher prices and smaller servings.

I ordered a combo, their hot link( jalapeño cheddar sausage), and rib tips. My wife ordered their Chicken Ceasar salad. The salad was almost all lettuce with a few pieces of chicken. My combo came with one sausage and 5 nickel sized rib tips.

The server was very good. She stopped by multiple times to check on us and refill our teas. When I mentioned our disappointment in the quantity of our servings, she apologized and said she almost said something about how few rib tips they now give.

It is truly a disheartening to see how this once standard of bbq restaurant has declined. Now, if I am traveling the state, Parker John's will be my go-to. Locally Double B's.

On Saturday May 31,2025, I purchased the American BB Feast to go. Returning home, our dinner was anything but a feast. The brisket was undercooked. I paid for an extra serving, and wasn't there. The quality of the food was very poor, with items missing such as cold slaw and amenities. My cost was $102.68. I was asked to return the dinner at my cost of 40 miles, plus travel time. We used to love famous Dave's in our house but it's complete trash now. The food is okay. Service is TERRIBLE. The last 3 times we went for pickup, they forgot WHOLE ORDERS/ITEMS and we would call up there to let them know (basically saying check your orders better before you send them out) but this last time we called and asked to speak to a manager because we were tired of them forgetting our food! And they put us on hold for about 5 seconds and just hung up on us. Not to mention we placed the order for our food at noon for us to pick up at 5, we got there at 5:08 and they told us our food wasn't ready but a guy walked in after us and placed his food order at 4:30 (we asked) and they gave him his food right away while we sat there and waited 15 minutes . Worst experience ever! One waiter waited on a party of 20. I felt so bad for him. There were at least six people standing around doing nothing while he slaved. Most of the drinks were flat by the time they arrived and a lot of the food was warm or either cold. Pleasantly surprised. Had low expectations, but they were exceeded. And the table service was nice and appreciated. And the setting comfortable.

The St Louis Ribs were flavorful, although could have been more tender. A little more slow with a tad bit more love on the prep process would have made them amazing.

The chicken was perfect. Tender and juicy with a nice flavor.

The burnt ends, well, aren't really burnt ends. At least not by my standard. But they are good. Tender and flavorful meat chucks. So still worth it.

The beans are simply beans. Decent beans. But nothing special.

The chili was surprisingly good. Usually not a fan of tomato and bean based chili. Yet, this chili worked as there was enough meat to call it meaty. And the chili was cooked to a flavorful thick consistency. Nicely done for this style of chili.

Overall. I rank this as a solid 4 star BBQ chain when comparing to other casual dining BBQ chains.

I was really disappointed with my visit. I was seriously craving some good BBQ today, and my husband even made a special trip to get it for me. I recently dined at Famous Dave’s after a long time away, and I wanted to share my feedback on the experience. I was pleased to see that the restaurant appeared much cleaner and well-maintained compared to my previous visit. However, my overall experience was disappointing.

The service was mediocre; our server did not seem attentive. For example, my drink was served in a broken cup that was leaking immediately, and I had to flag her down to get a replacement. When our food arrived, most of it, including the sides, was cold. The ribs, in particular, had an unpleasant taste that was very different from the classic Famous Dave’s flavor I used to enjoy. Additionally, the sauces and sides were underwhelming, lacking the quality I remember.

Unfortunately, based on this experience, I don’t see myself returning anytime soon. I wanted to share this feedback in the hope that improvements can be made for future guests.
