I stopped in for breakfast and the food was very good! fresh, tasty, and definitely the highlight of the visit. The atmosphere, however, felt a bit run down and lacking in energy, which took away from the overall experience. On the positive side, the service was excellent. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, attentive, and really made me feel welcome.

First time coming here, the soup and salad bar was nice. I ordered the broiled pork chops, the pork chops were dry and tough. Another person ordered the Chicken cacciatore without onions. There were no onions; however, the pasta was way over cooked. The cheeseburger my husband ordered was good.
Also, every once in awhile we could smell cigarette smoke.

I was looking for a buffet and for some reason looking up "buffet" showed this place and it said it over and over that this place was a buffet and all they had was a salad bar. It even showed multiple reviews that mentioned a buffet so that was extremely disappointing. This place is NOT a buffet so it shouldn't say it anywhere 🤣 a salad bar is no buffet it's an unlimited salad bar 🙃

We both are retired. I used to be a indoor/outdoor lighting designer. A incredible career that barely exists anymore. This place installed the WRONG ' TYPE of bulbs. See how bright the bulbs are. Too high in lumens. Now I probably sounding off my rocker. It's just too bright.

This place never fails to please my wonderful wife and myself. It was about an hour before closing, and we were made to feel welcomed. We started with soup, 4 choices, hearty and hot. A full menu and specials. Service was quick and great. We didn't feel rushed, the meal was as good as expected. Full course meals, it seems like everyone took a container of leftover food home. We will surely return, either going or returning from up north. We were even lucky enough to be seated next to an outlet to charge up.

Went for early lunch and ordered a tuna sandwich with a side of fruit and a cup of soup. Our server brought our soup...when that was done she brought the fruit...and when that was done we waited for our sandwich forever to arrive. My tuna had great big WEDGES of cucumber (way too much) layered on top of the tuna salad.

Faros is a family restaurant I've been coming to as a child with my mother that I now take my children. Prices are reasonable. They are family orientated. Kind, helpful, and always want to give you a great experience. Their breakfast is superb, as are some lunch/dinner plates/specials. This is a family favorite spot. The cheese soup is a recipe I want!! Great staff good portions decent price. The owner is always there to make sure everything is right. We love it and will support this city favorite!! Update on the picks. One is the meat lovers skillet with over easy eggs. The soup is cheese soup with crackers. I would rate it a zero if I could. Very bad service and employees. My family and I went this morning for breakfast. They seated us all the way back in the room. Noone came to take our orders or assisted us. We waited patiently. We couldn't wait anymore so we left. I overheard one of the employee said, "oh, they leaving" and just laugh. The host kept saying sorry and said that all the employees was so busy watching the accident from the highway. Not sure why it's their business looking at the accident when they should do their job and to take care of the customer. Do they get paid to watch an accident or get paid to do their job. If I wasn't in a rush because of an appointment, I would talk with their manager. Better train your employees better. And NEVER going back here.

I recently visited Faros, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. From the moment I walked in, the service was lackluster. No server acknowledges my presence, let alone take my order or offer drinks.

What struck me as particularly concerning was that the staff seemed distracted, and it was clear they were preoccupied with an auto accident in the distance. While I understand that emergencies can happen, it felt as though the entire restaurant's attention shifted away from providing service, leaving customers like myself feeling overlooked.

This experience was not what I expected when dining out, and I have to say, I will not be returning to Faros ever again in my lifetime. I haven't been to this place for many years. Why? Because my last memory of this place is the very bad service I received. I thought since so many years had passed maybe it would be different. Why not give it a second chance? Today just proved that my memory was correct and right. My family and I stopped by for breakfast. It wasn't too busy and we were seated in a separate section of the restaurant. We were the only ones in that section. We were looking at the menu and trying to decide what to get. Now by this time you would assume someone would have stopped by and asked us what we would like to drink. We waited, waited some more and still no one came to our section. After 10- 15 minutes, we figured they forgot about us. We continued to give them a couple more minutes just in case but nope. No one stopped by. We got up to leave and while we were leaving, the person at the front kept apologizing. The explanation we got was that their servers were slow all morning because they were too busy looking out the windows at the accident across the highway. This was not a very good excuse. I guess their servers can't multi-task. No apology can make up for this bad service, no service. If I could give this place zero stars, I would.

Update: March 2025...
We wanted breakfast on our way to points West and stopped at Farro's. We had lunch here before (see review below) and we were again, not disappointed. We started with their mozzarella sticks (yes for breakfast) and they are fantastic. They are not breaded, but are wrapped in a wonton type wrapper. We both had omelets with baby red potatoes and they are incredible. You need to stop here when you are in the area!

What a wonderful dining experience we had last night. The atmosphere is pleasant with many locals in for a bite to eat. Our server was very helpful in describing the specials and checked in on us just the right amount of times. I started with a Tomatoe Bisque which was fabulous.

I followed that up with the Montery Jack Lime Chicken with Baby Red Potatoes. Yummy! The chicken breast was huge and cooked perfectly, tender and juicy. I highly recommend you put this on your list of places to go.

Stoped at Faros restaurant as part of our Sunday road trip to have lunch. The restaurant had some customers but nothing crazy busy. As soon as you walk in, the rugs were dirty, they have an area of receiving and that gives you the idea to wait to be seated but no direction on it. At the left of entrance there is a counter with a cashier station with the servers tips on plain sight and a lot of papers. A complete hot mess.

It was the first time for my husband and I at the restaurant. The menu has like 7 pages. It’s overwhelming. The restaurant seems to have a salad and soup buffet but also an ala carte menu. The waitress came to us and asked if she could offer us something to drink, and took our order. My husband mentioned it was our first time visiting their place and no recommendations were given.

After navigating the long menu, we ordered the smokehouse burgers. The dish comes with a soup and a side of potatoes. My husband had the vegetable soup (too much tomate sauce) and I had the chicken crème. The soup was the only thing good about the experience. After almost 20 min, the burger came. The burgers were overcooked. It was mostly a cheeseburger, NO FLAVOR AT ALL! For a Smokehouse burger, the only Smoke was in the name! We left more than half of the burger. The service is not attentive. There is no leadership.

It’s a place you can go if in the area but certainly not recommended for a second visit. Go somewhere else.

Went to this restaurant around 4pm on a Sunday, not really busy at all and the floors were dirty and no silverware on the table. Got the chicken and dumpling soup, which the chicken was very dry and chewy. I ordered the breaded pork and gravy with mashed potatoes. The potatoes were instant and bland. The pork was ok but the gravy was way to salty to were you couldn't even finish have the plate. The bathroom floor was slippery and no soap or paper towels to dry your hands. Will not be going back.

Stopped by for a lunch on the road, didnt realize it was a diner vibe which isnt usually our thing.
However, iur server was quick and friendly and the food was surprisingly very good. Even the tomatoes were of good quality and flavor and im not usually a fan. The portions were huge for a lunch; our sandwiches came with fries, soup, and bread!

First time we have ever walked out of a restaurant. It was not busy. We were seated at 8:15, we walked out at 8:29. During that time, multiple tables were seated around us and had their orders taken. My wifes cousins and spouses meet there every two months. I had the spanakopita from their Greek menu. The pastry crust was incredibly flakey, with the spinach made a delightful taste treat. We waitress we had, Carrie, kept us well-supplied with everything from extra napkins, water and coffee to desert. I look forward to going back.
