Staff immediately let us know they’d be with us despite it being busy, got us seated outside and then told us they saw it would rain so we got to move inside. Got loaded fries, ramen and a California roll for 2 people and we were very impressed. Sushi was refreshing and filling, fries were flavorful and pork belly on top was cooked to perfection. My only complaint, is that the poke bowl came with lettuce, and that was the only ingredient not listed on the menu description. I will be dreaming about the food we had here. Ali and the team were attentive and quick to welcome us and explain some of the menu as it was our first time here(it won’t be the last). We did the pot stickers dressed, the crispy pork salad, and the samurai bowl. They all were stunning dishes with beautiful presentation with flavors to match. The freshness and care in which these were made with were truly stunning. I don’t even know how to explain what happened when we took those first few bites, but I’m sure it was something akin to a religious experience. If you’re contemplating coming here, stop it, be real, and get that reservation in because this is a must stop spot!

Easily one of the best meals we had in door county and would stand up next to any bigger city meal as well. From start the finish the meal was excellent. Servers were attentive, explained the menu well, and clearly also loved the food! We got the crab Rangoon which was some of the best I’ve ever had. Appetizers were great, Ceramic Chopsticks instead of wooden ones, unfortunately, that's where the compliments end.

The ramen was too salty, undrinkable when by itself, so you can't finish your bowl, and it only fills maybe a quarter of the bowl, the noodles are cheap and too thin for the type of ramen they serve, the eggs used in their ramen are actual full sized hard-boiled eggs, and was cold when I ate it, meaning they probably keep it in the fridge after boiling them instead of Ice Bathing them and then just plop them into your bowl right before serving it to you.
And they forgot our Sushi order.
I hope this place does well, but they seriously need to overhaul just about everything about their ramen, ingredients, preparation, and serving amount. Also, $24 for a quarter filled bowl of bad ramen, is asinine.

We loved this place, we visited for a weekend and ate here twice! Thursday and Saturday night we came in for dinner; over the course of our two meals we had both vegan sushi rolls, the tofu and mushroom appetizer, and both meals we got the vegan ramen it was AMAZING. Our first visit and loved everything about this place. It’s a very small venue with a cool vibe, impeccable hospitality and service (thank you Ali), and a varied Asian inspired menu. We enjoyed the crispy beef appetizer and the pork belly ramen and “samurai” (chicken and pork belly) bowl. I asked for the dragon broth with my ramen and it was about a 4-5 on the spice scale, excellent! Also enjoyed wine and their sake sampler. This will be our new go-to restaurant in Door County, which is starving for (no pun intended) ANY kind of Asian fare. Would like to see at least one Thai curry dish please.

The ramen here is incredible! It's been really hard to find good ramen in NE Wisconsin but their pork ramen definitely delivers. The ingredients work together well flavor-wise while also adding interest to the texture, particularly the mushrooms and nori. Pork is generous and tender. Definitely add a little dragon sauce (if you're okay with spice) to give it that last kick!
The service is friendly and dedicated. You can tell the whole operation is passionate about what they're doing. Try the house-made soda, it's delicious!

Absolutely Excellent! Me and my lady ate here this evening, and it was one of the best overall places we have ever been. The food was exquisite, the service was excellent and proficient, and the atmosphere was exactly what you want in a good spot.

They have a quote by Anthony Bourdain on the wall, and it was at that precise moment, I knew we were gonna have an incredible meal. We got both sushi and ramen, as well as the crab rangoons and the cucumber salad. Everything was immaculate in both presentation, as well as flavor and execution. I tried one of their offerings of saki, and it was the best saki I have personally had. The ramen is in my top three ramens of all time.

They do have limited seating both at the tables and at the bar, so I would personally advise making a reservation in advance.

There are 5 tables in the enterior and a bar, a very intimate atmospher. On the heated, enclosed patio, there is another bar and several more tables. The restaurant is handicapped accessible.

I recommend reservations, as only one interrior table was available when we dined. We were seated immediately. The server, Mariah, was attentive, professional, and personable. We began with potstickers, which were handmade and so different than any I've ever had. They were crispy and so flavorful and difficult to discrbe.

Their Crab Rangoon were crispy, creamy, and had quite a kick to them!

Butterball, a wonderful combination roll of tuna, spicy tuna, cucumber, mango, and pasionfruit, was served with ginger and wasabi. It was a milder component of our meal and a great choice for a whimp like me.

We had another tuna-avacado dish topped with yuzu. It was beautiful and tasted fantastic.

Have dined here two times and personally found my entree choices to be absolutely top notch. First visit chose the sushi. While one would not think the rice in the sushi roll is important, it certainly is and FB nailed it with the perfect consistency and flavor that enhances the overall role flavor. Let’s talk about the tuna — beautifully fresh with the care it takes to cut it perfectly for an enjoyable bite.
Second visit was the tuna poke bowl. Again, the care the chef takes in nicely cutting the tuna to the acidity of the red onions that brings that excellent punch to round out a well balanced bowl only begs the question—when is it I can next visit this hidden jem.

Fat Belly is an outstanding option for sushi and poke in northern Door County. It’s small (charming) and has limited hours (Friday and Saturday), but it’s all done with purpose. The best sushi and poke in Door County. We ate there last weekend and had the dumplings, tuna roll, and poke bowls. Everything was excellent - fresh fish, interesting flavors, nice presentation. Everyone was really friendly and the ambience was casual. They're a little hard to find (off HWY 42, turnoff to Johnson's Fun Park) and they could use better signage and some advertising. We were very excited to go here for lunch today after seeing the reviews but we were pretty disappointed. We ordered the pot stickers which were pretty good but overpriced. We also ordered the King Kong platter for $22 which came with chefs choice sashimi and a sushi. We received 8 pieces of sashimi (4 tuna and 4 salmon) which were good however the sushi roll was a California roll with artificial crab meat. It's hard to justify paying that amount for sushi that contains avocado, cucumber, and artificial crab. This is typically what you'd pick up at your local grocery store and I was very surprised by the artificial crab meat. Hopefully this is not what they typically serve in this dish.

Such a Great Hidden Jem! I love the twist on traditional bowls. Right next door is a go cart track, batting cages and a bounce house. It was a wonderful place to kick back, eat & relax on my birthday!

This place is a MUST GO. Guys, seriously, give this place a shot if you haven't. Bowls or burritos, and more. The food is ridiculously good and the service is awesome. Had the FB BBQ as a bowl with crispy chicken. It was so good, really balanced with the coleslaw, noodles, and bacon-garlic rice! These dishes are very uniquely crafted, well put together, locally sourced, and well prepared! I can't remember the last time I had this good of a first impression. 100% Recommend.

Very rarely do I eat at a restaurant and am blown away by how delicious the food was! I got the Far East bowl with the spicy peppers and it was incredibly fresh with just the right portions. They have a great outdoor seating area, the inside was immaculate, service was helpful, and the food came out very fast. Highly recommended and will definitely be visiting again when visiting Door County again. Check it out!

Fell in love with this place and it's been added to our go-to places when visiting Door County! As a vegetarian in the seafood capitol of a meat and cheese state I very much appreciated the variety of veggies I was able to get here! The caprese bowl was AMAZING! FAT BELLY is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Sister Bay. I think, if they (are able to) put a big sign out by the road, it would really help their business. Great food! My fave is their "FAR OUT, FAR EAST". Mangoes, Pot Stickers, Rice (*etc) OH MY!!!! Keep up the great work, guyz.🤤😉

This place hit all the items on my checklist and more. Ambiance, service, cleanliness, nice bathrooms, and of course YUMMY Food. I would give it 6 stars just for the delicious food if I could. I've never been here before and the place we had planned to eat at was closed. Fat Belly is a little out of the town center, but it is absolutely worth the extra 5 minutes to get to. I can't remember when I have eaten a tastier bowl, and judging by my girlfriend's sounds of pleasure, she was enjoying her meal as well. Just a fun place. Come and put your feedbag on and you won't be sorry that you did.

Absolutely amazing! The Far East Chicken bowl was delicious! The perfect amount of food after spending the day hiking. The kids Mac and cheese was incredible. So creamy. I was so thankful and excited to find a filling but lighter option since so many other restaurants in the area have burgers/sandwiches and fries. Try Fat Belly. You won’t be disappointed!!!

A very interesting place. The ordering of a main is a three step process: 1) select protein 2) side, which is combo of salad and rice 3) style of serving, either bowl or burrito. You cannot be wrong with any.
