After a long walk around Oshkosh, Fatt Mamas was a welcoming oasis. Immediately we felt like we had come home, if home was a place where delicious food exists. My catfish poboy was tender, flaky, amazing sauce. Everything you would want, and would not expect to find in the middle of Wisconsin.

Just got the opportunity finally get in fat mamas today... the owner is sweet as can be couldn't be more friendly.. got a two-piece catfish with fries and Order of collard greens..The catfish had a great corn meal/ flour coating...crispy and well seasoned..the fish was juicy and cooked well..typical fries..but fried correctly..the collard greens were exceptionally good..nice chew to them with good seasoning and plenty of meat... The food at Fatt Mamaa’s is INCREDIBLE! It may not be healthy for your body but I have no doubt it is good for your soul. A friend and I ended up ordering 2 dishes each because we wanted to try the whole menu (of course we couldn’t do that due to how many items are on the menu). I’m not sure why I waited so long to try this. The spot is owned by a nice woman who does the takes your order, cooks the food and serves you. It’s a small restaurant with only 4 good sized tables but it was full on Friday night and people kept coming. The owner did an amazing job taking care of everyone and she was super kind. The food was great. I ordered the catfish. it was hot, it tasted fresh, the fried food didn’t have any old oil taste. The fries were seasoned perfectly. The cornbread was phenomenal, its was really airy and moist and had just the right amount sweetness. She was out of greens when I came but I can’t wait to go back to try them, along with the namesake of the spot, a po boy sandwich. If you haven’t tried this place out, give it a shot.

Wow! I went to Fat Mama’s for lunch with my family of 8, and everyone in the family was completely happy with their meal (which in my family, never happens). Catfish PO'Boy!
It may be a weekend exclusive, but the Catfish PO'Boy is absolutely to die for. I'm no fan of coleslaw, but even I enjoyed every bite. First off this place does not disappoint at all. I was welcome as soon as I came in the door at 3pm on a Friday to Kool Aid and kindness. This place and the people are some real amazing folks and she is holding it down putting out amazing food that doesn't miss.

I picked up early dinner and got the Catfish & Fries, Pulled Pork and Pork Chop Sandwich with an assortment of sides. So let's break it down.

Entrees:
Pork Chop Sandwich - Solid 15/10, I tell you it's the best thick and juicy pork chop I have ever eaten in my life. Bone-in on a good quality roll topped with onions, peppers and the works. Hands down one of the best things I have ever put in my mouth.

Pulled Pork - 10/10, The pork in phenomenal! Seasoned and flavorful but you can still taste that tender supple pork. So good!

Catfish - 9.9/10, The catfish was fried perfectly, crisp outside and juicy inside. It was a touch salty but not in a bad way but worth noting if you're sensitive to seasoning. Overall best I have had in years.

Sides:
Fried Okra - 100/10, this Okra took my wife to church and literally made her cry. Fried right crispy outside and tender inside. Seasoned well and yes some breading fell of but even the Okra without the breading was tender, seasoned and delicious. Ain't no slime around this Okra and a must get if you come by.

Potato Salad - 10/10, Better than my Mama's for real. Seasoned, a little sweet and tangy with a perfect consistency. Very good.

Coleslaw - 9.5/10, it was good coleslaw not too sweet or seasoned just right with a fresh crunch that was very satisfying.

Cornbread - 9.5/10, very good cakey style corn bread that is not too sweet or savory. This cornbread lands right in the middle and is a great compliment to the entrees.

French Fries - 9.5/10, really tasty crinkle fries that weren't super crisp but they had the right amount of seasoning that made these something really comforting like something your friend's Mama would make for y'all.

Kool Aid - 1,000,000/10, not enough people appreciate really really good Kool Aid. All I am saying.

Overall, this is got to be one of the best if not the best place to get good home cooked food in Oshkosh. If you're in town check them out and pull up to eat some real food made with love.

The food here was absolutely top tier — the kind of place you could easily see Keith Lee recommending! It instantly reminded us of the incredible BBQ we had straight out of the Carolinas. The owner was an angel and treated us with such kindness, which made the experience even better. We ordered the slider trio and the shrimp po’ boy, and both dishes were packed with flavor. Pretty Good Po' Boy, Lingering Smell Though - 4 Stars
Fat Mamaa's Po Boyz and Sandwiches definitely knows how to make a good sandwich! I stopped in for lunch today and opted for the chicken po' boy. The bread was perfectly crusty on the outside and soft on the inside, and the chicken was flavorful and well-seasoned. The toppings were fresh and the whole thing came together nicely. It was a satisfying and tasty lunch.
The service was friendly and relatively quick, especially considering it seemed like a busy lunch hour. The prices were also reasonable for the portion size.
However, there was one significant drawback that unfortunately impacted my overall experience. The restaurant had a very strong and noticeable smell of grease. While I understand that some level of cooking aroma is to be expected in a place like this, it was quite heavy and unfortunately, the smell clung to my clothes for the rest of the day. This was rather unpleasant and something I hope they can address.
Despite the delicious sandwich, the lingering grease smell prevents me from giving a full five-star rating. If they could improve the ventilation or find a way to mitigate the strong cooking odors, Fat Mamaa's would easily be a top recommendation for a tasty and authentic po' boy in Oshkosh. I'd consider returning for the food, but I'd definitely be mindful of what I'm wearing!

I have seen so many amazing reviews and posts about Fat Mama's food, so when I had a chance to stop I finally did, and was not disappointed. When I walked in I was immediately greated by I am assuming the owner. She was so welcoming, and kind. I ordered the brisket Po Boy, and she also recommended the fried okra so I got that as well. It was amazing! All of her food tasted flavorful, and like she used fresh and homemade ingredients. Better than going to the commercialized restaurants with their pre-made sauces and ingredients. Amazing little food joint! Fat Mama runs the whole place herself and greets you with a smile that will brighten your day. The Mighty Meaty is probably the best burger I've ever eaten! With pulled pork, brisket, a beef patty, and the tastiest homemade sauce; it's worth coming in to try. The fried ochre and hush puppies were fresh and perfectly fried. This is the absolute best little place to go in Oshkosh. The staff are the most pleasant people to be around. I ordered the 3pc catfish and it was the best fish iv had in a long long time. OMG yum!!!! We had stopped last week for dinner, it was incredible. The sandwiches used good solid bread that held up perfectly. I had the brisket, it was tender and done right. Hubs had a cheesesteak with extras. We were both absolutely stuffed. The service was top flight, I felt like a treasured guest. Thank you so much 🏆🏆❤️❤️

Stopped on my way home from work and got a 3 piece fried catfish. Hands down the best fish in the area. The breading was amazing and bursting with flavor! Every bite made me want to get up and do a little happy dance. You're also served by the most joyful person you'll ever meet. Her passion for amazing comfort food and for people shows in the final product. When you walk in the door, you're treated like family. I love Fat Mammas and will be a life long customer!

Had the Italian Beef. OMG sooo much flavor..... heat with flavor! Honestly the best Italian Beef I have had! The potato salad was perfect and finished it all off with some amazing cornbread 🙌..... 10/10 ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!!!!! Everything is made to order so it takes just a little bit...but it is sooo sooo worth it!

Oh what delightful food! I would easily slot it as one of, if not the best BBQ in the area. The wings are cooked to perfection. The cheese steak was delightful (add some hot peppers!), fries are delicious, mac salad is creamy, and the coleslaw is great. Kids meals are a great value (I snuck some of it for myself... I was not disappointed they were full).
I normally am not a cheesecake fan (in fact I strongly dislike it). This was some of the best I've ever had. It tastes just like the cheesecake my 90 year old grandma used to make!

My wife and I are so happy to have found this place! It is now at the top of our list.

Went Sunday, she had the chicken philly and I had the beefy bacon. Both sandwiches were amazing! We also had an order of fried catfish as it was the special that day. That catfish is one of the single best things I have eaten. Period. It was crispy, crunchy, flakey, buttery and SO MUCH FLAVOR. Oh and the potato salad! My goodness the POTATO SALAD.

The food was so amazing it makes you wanna marry the chef. It is now in my top 5 places to eat in the state. Found this place randomly looking for a good spot to eat & I'm so glad we did. We could smell the spices in the air walking in. We were greeted by the sweetest woman. Who introduced herself as Fat Mama. The place immediately made you feel welcome. It had the perfect, small, homie hole in the wall vibe. Colorful and happy, with hundreds of signatures & comments full of praise and positivity for the restaurant & the talented owner/chef. After looking at the menu indecisively, it all sounded good . I asked her to surprise me & so did my buddy. She immediately replied I go you honey, told us there was fresh free Kool aid, to help ourselves & away she went. We were excited. You could tell this was real homestyle. The wait wasn't too long but long enough to where you know it's fresh. She brought us out our food. She decided to make us the fat mama burger & a Cheese steak, perfectly cooked fries & homemade Mac N Cheese bites. She described exactly what they were and what was on them. But I'm not sure I got it all, as the smell and look was making my mouth water and slightly distracting 😆. First bite had me like. This burger is so damn good it was hard to believe it!! I was shocked. Fresh, Tender, fully seasoned & perfectly cooked beef with melted cheese thick bacon, sauteed onion, pickle, special sauce & a perfectly toasted bun.. I'm still thinking about that damn burger hours later writing this review.🤯 One of the best I've had. The cheese steak was tender & rich with flavor. You could tell the meat was slow cooked. Cheesy melted goodness over sauteed onion peppers, beef on a crispy toasted bun. No where else have I had a cheese steak where the meat was this rich with flavor. The fries and Mac N Cheese bites were a perfect edition. Tasty done with a spot on crisp with soft potato center & cheesy creamy middle. You could absolutely taste the love in this food. You can tell it is made by someone who cares about what they are doing & has passion for it. I will definitely be back. I'm already trying to look for an excuse to drive 3 hours across the state again.

WOW! Fat Momma does it right! To start off i had a hard time figuring out what to order when everything on the menu sounds amazing... Finally decided on an Italian Beef (haven't had a good one in years) and boy am I glad I did!! I was a little worried about taking it to go but it was perfect once the au just was dumped on top making it a proper wet Italian beef. Giardiniera peppers were hot (but not too hot) which was nice since alot of places use mild. And the potato salad side was the perfect touch. We'll done ma'am, I will be back, that reopen is calling my name!

I recently visited Fat Mama’s Po Boyz and had an excellent experience from start to finish. I ordered the brisket po boy, and it was hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. The brisket was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and juicy. It came topped with coleslaw, French fries, and barbecue sauce, ON TOP of the Po Boy. Which took the whole dish to another level.

To top it off, the owner personally came out to check on us and was one of the kindest, most welcoming people I’ve met. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and inviting, and the customer service was exceptional.

If you’re in the area, I highly recommend giving this place a try. It’s a fantastic spot, and we should all be supporting small businesses like Fat Mama’s Po Boyz!

The food is incredible, the space is a tiny and cozy space full of character, and the staff are the warmest, and most genuine people you could hope to meet . Absolute gems of humans The italian beef had sold out by the timei got there. so i went with the brisket bacon sub... Not disappointed in the slightest. And the corn bread is a delight. I can't say enough about how fabulous this place is, and how delightful the people are.

First of all thank you for staying open for us. We found you on google and stopped because you're ratings were so high and we were hungry. I had the shrimp poboy sandwich My other half had the fat mama double Bacon cheeseburger some fried Okra
and an order of hush puppies. Excellent flavor on everything. So good that before we got home.We had already told two people. You are fifty three miles from us but we will be coming back. Me n my man went here for the first time today. It was over all phenomenal. She was so sweet and kind. She's a fabulous chef. The atmosphere was wonderful great music. Finally got a chance to tryout this place and was I impressed. Philly cheese steak which my husband loved. I got the po boy ruben and we both tried the brisket. Meats were tender and mouth watering.
