I would really like to have a positive review, but this is the second year in a row, that I have gone to Grant park beach to enjoy the beach, and the Ferch's restaurant, and Ferch's was not open. (fool me twice).

The downside, No beer, no food, no bathroom.

I did finally see a gentleman working at Ferch's around 12:30pm. I asked when would the restaurant open? "Not for some time". When asked why I was told, "Not until the kids are out of school". I pointed out that the posted hours, (google maps, Ferch's website, and at the beach entry) stated that it was open daily at 11:00AM. In addition, I did not understand why the washrooms are not open, as the are adjacent but separate from the restaurant. I was told I could "use the one at the golf course"

So, I have been at the beach since 10:30am. Enjoying the sun and the breeze, and looking forward to food, and refreshment at Ferch's, but now realize I should have packed a cooler. As the need for a washroom was soon to be, I packed up and went home.

Why did Ferch's not post online the real hours? I still don't know what they are. The hours on Google maps shows 11am-9Pm Confirmed by the business 2 weeks ago. The Ferch's website, states Opening May 27th, open daily 11AM-9PM. Why not :

1) list the temporary hours
2) don't know how to do #1 - how about a sign out front
3) Have the washrooms opened by the park staff when the park/beach opens.

There was more people than I had expected at the beach, and many had comments about when will they open, I am hungry.

I am not sure how many people will ever return, with this poor of communication.

Did not actually eat there. I did drive by it and it looked very enjoyable, right? Many, many people so I assume it's a very popular spot on the beautiful Lake Michigan shore in South Milwaukee. I will give it a try.Next time.

We really liked this spot. Music, good food (do have the fries) and everybody chilling right on the beach.
Nobody blinked and eye at my kids being them crazy selves. Its a great time had evertime we go!
Oh and there's drinks!

- “soft” pretzels were cooked until hard. Terrible! It looked like a rescue was attempted using butter. That doesn’t work.

So expensive!! Food so bad! Even the ice cream was flavorless. It was $90 for 1 adult and three kids to have 4 ice creams, 1 hotdog, 2 burgers, 1 order of fries, and an order of tenders. I threw away most of my burger.
I love the beach atmosphere and the casual dining experience. Wish the taste could justify the prices or even any price.

My children and I love having beach days at Grant Beach Park. Although we always bring our own food to snack on, we always end up getting something from Ferch's in addition. We usually get fries and custard, which have always been good! My daughter isn't a fan of the cookie dough topping option, but of course, that is subjective 😀.
Today my youngest and I were at the beach and we decided to get an American burger (burger with bacon, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes), fries and soft pretzels (order comes with 3) with cheese. (First time for the burger and pretzels). The pretzels were what you would expect for a basic soft pretzel and cheese dip option. I personally didn't care for them but my 4 year old was happy. (Happy kiddos, happy mama 💚) The American burger was really delicious and exceeded my expectations lol. The fries are a generous size for what you pay for it and the burger was also massive as well. Also, a plus... they have Sprecher Rootbeer as a fountain drink option 😁. Overall, we were happy with our food and I must say, the service is always wonderful, especially today. Everyone was smiley and happy to be there, which I appreciate greatly since good service is hard to come across nowadays.
From one local restaurant owner to another, Ferch's, thank you for providing tasty options for beach goers with great service. We really appreciate it! 😎🌞

You advertised that your Beachside grill would be open on 2025 Mothers Day. Ours and tons of other families came down looking forward to enjoying the sun by the beach. SOOOO MANY families came & found your business shuttered & locked up from the winter!! A quick note on the door or quick alert to social media would have solved this simple problem. People gathered and talked about what a bad business move that really was!

Sitting in the heart of Grant Park Beach in South Milwaukee is this great little grill stand serving delicious short order food. Their burgers and sandwiches are great, and they have a great selection of beer and cocktails. It's always busy as the beach is always packed with families and folks playing volleyball. Great little beach business. The staff are always pleasant and helpful.

The fish sandwich is honestly one of the best I’ve ever had and you can tell that all the food is cooked fresh to order. We also got a chocolate/vanilla twist cone and the custard was excellent! The food takes a while (10-15 min) to come out compared to a typical concessions spot, but you can sit outside on the patio and enjoy the incredible view of Lake Michigan - worth the wait!

We'd been here before and liked it. The beach view is awesome. We decided to take family from out of town here on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. The ladies used the restroom to wash up first and found the restroom in deplorable condition. Human waste visible, dirty floors and no soap to wash with! Our thoughts turned to, do the employees who are making the food use these restrooms too? If so how do they wash up with no soap before returning to work? We were so turned off, we left. Ferch's and Milwaukee County Parks needs to come up with a better solution for restrooms that meet the need for such a high traffic place adjacent to the beach and park, and especially adjacent to a restaurant where food is being served! Brand new restrooms are definitely needed here. Yuk!!

Fetch’s is located on a small beach on Lake Michigan and it’s the perfect spot for a summer day, it’s all out door seating with many tables having umbrellas to block the sun, they also have beach volleyball and live music on Friday nights,the food consists of things think hamburgers and onion rings along with french fry’s as for me I got the beach burger and the garlic fry’s and everything was just right for our day at the beach, they close during the winter so if your going now is the perfect time

Payed $9 for a fun size scoop of custard, ordered tenders, waited 25 minutes, got handed a sandwich and told them i ordered tenders, the kid comes back and says “no they will not be giving you tenders” asked for a refund, no refund. You guys should really look into your staff.

Love this Beachside Grill. They have live music on Wednesday evenings. Located at the beach and also has Volleyball available. Plenty tables for eating and enjoying the atmosphere. Friendly people and I feel very safe.

One of the more relaxing atmospheres in the county park system. Stop in, get a burger, or chicken sandwich or an ice cream, or shake and relax on the beach. Great service, great stuff and the food was very delicious. The fish sandwich was wonderful as was the burger.

I had the grant Beach Burger which was really well done and the garlic fries :-) the food is above average and beats the heck out of going to McDonald's or us or other such places. They had a one-man band there playing the guitar and harmonica. Everyone was in a great mood and the atmosphere was relaxing. I stayed till the sun went down. The guitar player said he was going to play till 8:30 p.m. we ate there on a Saturday expecting some music and it turns out their music day is Friday night

Nice place for a quick bite like a burger, fish or hot dog or ice cream while you’re visiting the beach. They carry Ciderboys beer. Each time I come it’s a different flavor and never is disappointed. There is a bathroom to the left of the counter to wash your hands. Plenty of tables to eat at.

This place is great. The atmosphere is awesome. I’m not sure if they were open but our outside bartender was very knowledgeable with his drinks. He didn’t say much and kept running on the beach but that didn’t bother us one bit. He had a jar of peanut butter. He was slightly greasy and kept disappearing into the woods.
