Coffee shop Bistro Cafe Espresso bar Takeout restaurant Restaurant Sandwich shopDescription
Located on the banks of the Milwaukee River along the village’s main street, the building dates from 1839 when things moved a bit slower and conversation was the primary means of communication. Our Thiensville location boasts a beautiful outdoor patio complete with the natural backdrop of the Milwaukee River. It’s not unusual to spot wildlife such as fox, deer, herons and eagles as you enjoy your Fiddleheads coffee. Indoors, you will find, antique original artwork lines the walls, complementing its rough-hewn hardwood floors, reminiscent of Old Vienna. It’s a great meeting place with Old World feel. Our café is always bicyclist, and family friendly.

I stop here way too often. Expensive habbit that I can't seem to break. The staff is super friendly and always willing to get creative with your requests. I've been hear more than 30 times and never had a negative staff experience. Outdoor seating is amazing next to river or the enclosed fireplace area. I'm obsessed and need to go now. Love everything on the menu. Only thing I noticed is you get a way bigger side salad if you dine in. Take out is Itty bitty

This is the original location and yes it may be smaller but they have done a great job of creating and outdoor area for cold/ warm months to enjoy. It used to be a joke with is why there is limited parking, you can park across the street or on the road as well. I recently saw a review from 6 months ago complaining about that and I’m sorry but that’s the charm of this place, small a quaint. Places like this are hard to find these days and I’ll take this over a chain any day. Fiddleheads has opened more locations over the years and I hope they always keep in mind the charm.

Have been going to fiddleheads for over a decade and used to be a go-to of mine. The price increase this year and last year is ridiculous. Why is a mid sandwich $15 and why does it cost $10 for cheese and bread. Also $6 granola bars? Crazyyy prices and portion sizes are way smaller. To respond to your reply, the sandwich in question is the pesto chicken melt for $14.95 but in all honesty, a $13.10 sandwich average is way too high when the sizes have decreased. You have noticeably lost a lot of younger customers because it is just not affordable.

Nice local coffee shop. Each of the several locations is unique. This was the original and is a little small in the entry and counter area but has some cozy seating areas inside as well as along the river on the patio . Good coffee drinks, sandwiches and bakery items. Beats the West Coast mega coffee company 10/10 times!

I love the vibe of this place. There are SO many places to sit, whether you wanna sit by the stream, outside in the covered fireplace area, or indoors. It was pretty busy when I got here but because there's so much space it felt perfect. Also the staff here were all so smiley!
I got the tumeric chai hot with milk. So good!!! Very strong - which I like. The best chai latte!

I absolutely LOVE the Baristas at the Thiensville location. Many of them know my latte as "The Mona Drink" as it's not on the menu, but each Barista knows how to make it, they know my name, each one is polite, kind, and always brightens my day! My latte definitely gets my day going!

We’ve barely been back in Milwaukee for a week and I think we’ve been almost every day so far!! This is truly my favorite coffee spot in the Thiensville area - actually totally worth the drive even if you are outside of Thiensville! This location sits right on the river - so inside or outside, or the outdoor winterized patio with fireplace - it just doesn’t get better than this! The service is always fantastic - everyone is so nice and bends over backwards to accommodate.
I’ve brought work here and sat for a few hours during the winter and it’s such a cozy welcoming place! Really it’s a must come kind of place!
For drinks - definitely try the iced mocha! But I like their lattes almost any way you order - iced or hot. They do offer a variety ofdifferent milk options. I’m always oat milk, but they have other options as well.
The pastries are really good. Chicken pesto is a lunch favorite. Chocolate chip cookies are one of my daughter’s must get. And if they have the blueberry lavendar scone, try it!! - it’s SO delicious!
Last note - they have a bike repair station. That is absolutely adorable and ridiculously well appointed.!! We’ve used it to put air in the stroller tires, but they have all the tools! I’ve added a photo here, because there were some tools I didn’t even know you needed for a bike!!

First time here. From out of state.
Smallish parking lot can be tricky to navigate if mostly full. I think the outside needs some updating. Liked the menu and that breakfast can be ordered any time. The 2 girls working were nice. Not a lot of tables inside. Less of an issue when outdoor seating is available based on weather. We found it odd to see a couple (or 2 friends?) in a back corner, lounging as if they were at home. On one side of the table is a long built in bench from what I could tell. One was mostly laying on it with the other leaning up against the other. With blankets. It was awkward and felt as if we were intruding. Looked as if they'd been there awhile. We went outside. Since we'd never been before, we didn't know to go around the corner to wait for them to put our drinks up on the counter. Waited at our table and when we decided to go check on drinks, I passed the girl bringing our food out. My daughter's strawberry lemonade was actually strawberry tea, so I took it in to get fixed and waited for them to make it while my food sat outside. My Italian soda had no cream and needed more raspberry syrup. I wouldn't have known it was a pesto chicken sandwich bc there was so little pesto. The chicken tasted like it wasn't seasoned -- not even with s & p. Ordered an almond poppy seed muffin and an orange ginger cookie and they were great. It's cramped if several people arrive at once and causes doors and bathroom to be blocked. I felt that they needed more than 2 people working. Went at 3:00 on a Saturday.

We stopped for coffee on our way out of town, and WOW. The atmosphere was comfortable and peaceful, the people were friendly, and the food was INCREDIBLE. We got an iced dirty Chai with oatmilk, a blended white mocha (like a coffee milkshake), the Buffalo chicken melt, and the avocado and egg croissant; there was not a single thing we didn't "happy food dance" over. I can't do this place justice when I say it is the BEST coffee shop and eatery I've been to. Wish we lived closer, but we might make the drive just to come here on occasion!

Very friendly. Quick wait times. Excellent coffee. I ordered espresso, the crema was spot on and flavorful without bite or acidic aftertaste. The other member in our party ordered a frappe which was spot on. Unfortunately, way not handicapped accessible at all. Signage doesn't direct where accessible entry or seating is available. Walking up several stairs with a walker is not safe. After leaving we figured out that there is a less crazy way to get in... parking is poor. If you can work around the accessibility, the coffee is spot on perfectly roasted and fresh (we visited 3pm). Staff was kind and attentive.
