Stuck in traffic after the Brewers game when one of the passengers in the said " I'm hungry for Italian". A quick Google maps search brought us to Filippo's, and that was the luckiest thing that happened to us all day. A cozy neighborhood restaurant doing a brisk takeout business and a comfortable dining room for those dining in. Charming servers and delicious food made fresh. Dinners come with bread, soup, salad and a generous entree, be ready to take some home with you. Very happy we stopped for dinner, good food and no traffic when we left.

I haven't been there in years and it just seems as though it got a little bit worse to me. The pizza we ordered was overwhelmed with vegetables and it didn't feel completely cooked. The waitresses on the other side maybe I believe the bar side or slamming doors talking very loud like I was in company of family members that I could barely have a conversation with without jumping every time they slammed the refrigerator doors yeah if they can work on that then I think it'll be good again.

Went here for the first time on a whim, and it was WORTH IT. For starters, the service was great! Our server was Makenzie, and they were absolutely wonderful! Super friendly, very welcoming, and even helped us figure out a word for our word game :). They were genuinely a fantastic server, and thought of everything!!! Now the food? Was freaking delicious. We got the veggie sampler as an appetizer and each thing (mushrooms, eggplants, and onion rings) were so scrumptious and it was hard to not inhale it all. I got the Linguine w/ Clams with a white wine sauce and it was MARVELOUS!! Honestly, everything was delicious and amazing and I will 100% be coming here again!!!

Delicious! First time eating here and we will definitely be back. We had the Filippo’s deluxe pizza which we ordered with regular crust, fresh mushrooms, and extra sauce. Others in our party ordered pasta dinners (which came with soup, salad, and bread) and that all looked great too. Our pizza was the best I’ve had in a very long time. The crust was crispy on the bottom and edges. There were so many toppings! The sauce was incredibly tasty. The sausage was flavorful and the pepperoni cupped and crisped up like the good stuff should. We had plenty of ice water and napkins. The waitress was friendly and attentive. She was excellent. I complimented the soup and I heard her tell the chef. There are plenty of tables. It’s a place where you feel welcomed like an old friend even if it’s your first visit.

If you are from West Allis and you haven't been here you have no excuse! Definitely a staple of the community, been here many times since I was a kid. Recently went for a very special 60th birthday with a very large party and they had no problem taking care of us. No orders were messed up, the server was on here game and even came with some good jokes! This is definitely a classic Italian restaurant, more directed to family sit down. They do have a bar but not the star of the show. The food is fantastic every time I've been here. I can't say much more than give it a shot, can almost guarantee you'll be back. And lastly the prices are extremely fair.

I went alone. I had the cheese bread. The cheese bread was in sesame bread and was a little bit burnt on the edges but still good. Wish it had more garlic butter. For my drink I had something called a begheria. I think that’s how to spell it. It was an alcoholic vanilla ice cream drink, very delicious. I also had the soup and salad. Both were mediocre. Nothing special. I loved the chicken Florentine, which is what I chose as my entree. It was extremely hot when it arrived. They give generous portion sizes. The vegetables were fresh and the dish had lots of flavor. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was not dry. I could only eat half.

We went there because we thought that we will get authentic Italian pizza. It was a big disappointment. We ordered two large pizza: Filippo's special and Pizza A la Napolitana. Filippo's special with regular crust tasted like Domino's pizza. Nothing particular about it. La Napolitana had anchovies, but we did not taste any. The thin crust was soggy, wet full of sweet tomatoes sauce. My guess is they have higher rating in review because people don't go there for pizza. May be Filippo's is very good at other dishes (probably pasta), but not pizza.
Will rather go elsewhere for pizza. Sorry if I was too direct, just wanted to say things the way we experienced it. Thanks.

The booths are very comfortable, me and my lady were looking for a late dinner on a Saturday night. They are open until 11!

Came here on a whim while visiting friends and I'm so glad we did! The food is delicious, the portions generous, Brenda was a great server, and the atmosphere was lovely. Awesome place. Best dish here bar none is the Homemade Cannelloni. Hand rolled noodles and then rolled up with chicken pork and beef and spinach and cheese. Topped with pasta sauce. Their pizza is FANTASTIC also. Good crust, awesome sauce and the pepperoni is really good. Sausage is delicious also. Great pizza. I've had numerous other dishes and they were okay. These two are tops tho.

This was our first time here. We were shocked at the large servings at a very reasonable price! Everything tasted fantastic and appeared to be home made. Our waitress was Tina, and she was awesome. I believe she has been working there for over 20 years. The rest of the staff was always coming around to fill your water, take your empty dishes, or get whatever you needed. And they all were super polite. Both my wife and myself took our leftovers home and had another full meal. I highly recommend Filippo’s to everyone.

The food is alright, l've had it twice but their Spumoni ice-cream is above and beyond. Though, it's not good enough to tolerate disrespect. The owner's daughter is pretty rude. I came in to order Spumoni ice cream. I have done this 3 times. The first 2 times were with no issue and I was able to buy two Tupperware's filled with Spumoni. The 3rd time I came in, I believe it was either a manager or maybe even the mother who actually corrected the hostess and let her know that yes Spumoni can be taken to go. Although they don't recommend it because it can melt, I let her know I would eat it in the parking lot in my car. She was super nice and put it in a Tupperware for me. Two days ago, I came in and the hostess told me they didn't do that. I asked if she was sure because I have done it 3 times already. She said she would ask and the owner's daughter without even turning around to face us said
"NO WE DONT DO SPUMONI TO GO" in the most disgusting and disrespectful tone. The kind hostess apologized and offered to have us seated for it but I ended up changing my mind and just saying we would leave. I went to Barbiere's Italian Restaurant on Bluemound for Spumoni and they happily let me take it to go. I'm happy to have a new place to order my Spumoni now with no issues. The owner clearly needs to talk to their disrespectful daughter. I attached a picture of one of the times I got it to go.

This is old school mom n pop Milwaukee Italian. The interior reflects such. The staff are family loving and diligent about keeping things clean and serviced. The main act is the food! So reasonably priced that young families can afford to enjoy. The pizzas seem to be a huge draw for takeout as well as at tables. I've fallen in love with the manicotti dinner, house chianti (for the full experience), and tiramisu to top it off. I always have enough to take home for an entire second meal! I consider this my newest comfort food establishment.

What happened Filippo's? Did your restaurant have to make budget cuts? Ordered extra lage pizza with garlic bread and mozzarella sticks for carry out. Filipino's is not that far from home but by the time I got home the cheese had stuck to top of the paper bag they put the pizza in. Maybe invest in boxes. The pizza was not good, weird enough my dog wouldn't touch it.
The mozzarella sticks looked so sad. Basically mozzarella sticks rolled in breadcrumbs and microwaved. Not crispy or appetizing the marinara was pretty good.
Then the garlic bread..... the worst thing I have ever triesd to eat. A few slices of Texas Toast with butter on one side only and sprinkled with garlic powder....... not salt, not actual garlic, but garlic powder. Yuck!
I remember going to Filippo's years ago and they had some of the best food. This was just sad. My wife and I felt very disappointed because we liked Filippo's.
