Played out here a month ago and the course is in significantly better shape! The bunkers are being redone and were fantastic! Greens rolled fast and true!

Course in rough shape after 9” of rain last Saturday. Should be closed, as only 8 holes playable;10-16,8&9. Ground saturated and unstable in areas

Really enjoy playing here. Fairways and Greens are kept up well. Love the terrain and the natural beauty. $65 on a Monday morning with cart is about what this course is worth IMO and that's what our group paid.
The reason for the 4 star is that the bunkers are atrocious and many of the cart paths are beyond in need of repairs. Hopefully those are addressed at some point in the near future.

Course is ok. For $80 it’s not worth it. Way nicer in the area for that. Bunkers were terrible.

Had an opportunity to bring a friend here on Monday afternoon. I mean, if it’s 80°+ for the first time in June, how am I supposed to work, right? He was coming from Sheboygan and this was a great halfway point course to meet at.
Tyler in the ProShop was extremely knowledgeable and honest. At first look, you see a clubhouse on the drive in reminiscent of a BlackWolf or LacLaBelle. The accolades of Finau’s course record, etc etc. He told me that the course is in need of some TLC, but a great track to work on your game.
His descriptor is quite accurate. The tees, fairways, and bunkers are quite rough, but the greens roll and roll true. He went on to tell me that the course was purchased and there is some money coming in. The clubhouse was redone for the 2025 season and if it is any indicator of what’s to come, this could be a completely different review come 2026/2027.
Either way, $65 with cart is not terrible at all.
3:45 for 2 players for 18 holes not far from Milwaukee County. Not bad AT ALL.
But not being lied to by employees or ripped off with greens fees: Priceless.
Playing Friday afternoon with my pops as well. You’ve gotten my business twice in one week. Tyler in the ProShop’s honesty and candor played a huge role in that. Thanks again!

It’s not a bad course by any means. Fairways were is fantastic condition. Greens are decent, and roll true. The newly redone clubhouse is incredible. Where it’s lacking 5 stars is the price and pace of play. I don’t see it as an $80 course. The cart paths are horrible in many areas. Carts are older. There’s many courses around the MKE area that are $40-$60 that are in as good condition. The pace issues aren’t the worst, but should be dealt with better. 5.5 hours for 2 people for 18. There was a 4 some ahead of the threesome we were behind playing like they were on tour. Arguing over lies and rules amongst each other, and playing the tips. And none of them played at anywhere near tour level. The ranger driving around did nothing, even as it got backed up 3-4 groups at the tee behind them.

This place use to be amazing. We have so many fond family memories of their events, firework shows, the amazing staff and restaurant. Unfortunately, the course was bought out in 2024 from and out of state investor, and now all of locals no longer have a "go to" course, event space and Friday night Fish Fries at Flannerys. Such a shame. We miss it so much!

Course is in awful shape. Over grown weeds and plants, cart path looks like a war zone. Can’t play from bunkers. Food (brats) were burnt and bun was hard. For 84.00, not worth it at all. Use to be a very nice course, not anymore. One more thing, golf carts are in horrible condition, dirty and falling apart

Tried using one of the vouchers i received as a gift for a Sunday(booking 11 days in advance). You can't use it before 11:30am and the only tee times were 11:24am or earlier, or 3pm or after. I asked if there was any leeway in using the voucher 6 minutes before 11:30am and was told no way. Asked the person who buys me the vouchers every year to stop buying me anything for fire ridge. Too pricey for a course with rocky bunkers and swamp fairways. Might as well stick to meekwon, hawthorne hills or the bog.

They have practice facility. Range and putting green. There are practice bunkers but they’re poorly maintained. Bunkers on the course are stoney. Greens were in pretty good shape. There is drinking water on the course. Clubhouse is nice, and the staff are friendly. The low rating is for the price, too much by about $30 for what it is. The 18th hole is a ridiculous short par four with a tiny, slopey green and requires two excellent blind shots and some luck. Nice man in the pro shop charged me $12 for a bag of balls when there were free balls on the range.

Overpriced. Rock hard greens. Rough cart path. Definitely in the business of making money not good course conditions. They do a good job of collecting on last minute tee times so they can overcharge after your first 3 options were booked up. I’d only come here in desperation.

Course is in great shape. Decent pro shop area and nice clubhouse. Staff were awesome. Range was in a good spot to be away from things. Greens were in good shape rolling all over. Some blind tee shots, terrain, and dog legs with some fescue or valleys to work ball positioning. Fairways and rough were cut how they should be. Carts were electric but really wish they had gps on them. Rates for this course were pretty good. When played, course was busy and we had a group that could've paced better for playing ready....so gps carts might help the course monitor pace better if there's not a ranger out. But overall, nice course to play.

Beautiful clubhouse staffed with friendly and attentive employees. Course in very good condition, although the sand in the bunkers is loaded with rocks, stones, pebbles, etc. Nice electric carts, smooth and quiet. But the asphalt cart paths are in terrible shape. Playability is good, challenging, with a number of blind shots (starting with the tee shot on #1). Greens have many subtle breaks but are fair and rolled true. It's a course you must play a few times to get the "lay of the land".

The course was very challenging and in pretty good shape. The fairways and greens were perfect, the bunkers...not so much. It is tough to hit out of a bunker when there are more rocks in it, than sand.

Just a really rough day out there all around. Pace of play really horrible. 5.5-6 hour round. Cart girls were doing well. Our cart died on 13. I called the club house twice and waited 45 minutes to get a new cart. That was a tough look. Buffalo chicken wrap was decent.

From a golfer perspective, it is a nice layout with a peaceful, natural vibe. It has some really nice potential. The layout is challenging and fair for all handicaps. The people working there are very nice, but young and inexperienced. They don't do much to give you a "club" experience, but that's ok for the price. With a little extra attention to detail this could change. The "green" part of the turf from tee to green is great. The greens are excellent and challenging with slopes and approach shots needing a plan, which is a good thing. Fairways and tee boxes are pretty nice too. The owners need to invest and have a plan for this course... they have a great course to work with, but it looks like it is sliding to the negative. The sand traps are awful... unplayable dirt, not sand, with weeds growing in many bunkers. We took "unplayable lies" w/relief whenever we were in a trap. They should just convert them to grass berms. The carts are old... one broke down on me, but the marshall helped me out, for which I was thankful. The cart paths are made of disintegrating asphalt... investment needed. But the biggest frustration was slow play. They book too many groups in too short of tee times - I think they'd be better off increasing the price, making some investments and carefully managing tee times for pace. On a Monday we were backed up waiting on almost every shot.... but you get what you pay for in golf. The slow play is what may prevent me from playing this course more than once/year.

Course is challenging and a lot of fun. Also was in great shape and greens were perfect. What I did find kinda weird was despite how immaculate the course was, the bunkers were as if they haven’t been touched in years. Number of bunkers that were borderline unplayable, I know unfortunately from experience .

I would like to apologize for a past review of the course and more specifically owner Schmidty. I have loved the course, it’s layout, it’s top notch staff and friends I’ve made there along the way over the past 34 years. The review I made was hasty and unfortunately was on the heels of a friend from our Wednesday night league who passed suddenly a few days earlier. My comments were inappropriate and should not reflect any negativity in regards to the course. I would strongly recommend it to all level of players. And the Filet Mignon on crackers is the best in the city! Happy Holidays.

This is 2nd time I’ve played this course. Yet again got harassed by the Ranger. Telling us we were holding up groups behind us when in reality they were 2 holes behind us. We finished just under 4hrs which is way above pace. For the pricing their are way nicer courses than this.

Terrible experience this past Saturday (8/4/18). Had a 3:27 tee-time, but didn't make it out until 3:50. There was an outing that basically took control of the course. 6 hour round and yet the ranger still tried embarrassing us/scolding us for playing slow, when we were probably the quickest on the course. The guy had the nerve to bring that up when he knew he was sending us out for a 6 hour round. This was after waiting over 20 minutes past tee-time on our first tee-box. Ranger told us to go play the 9th hole as our first hole and come back and tee up on 10. What a joke. There was a par 3 on the back 9 that had the usual tables set up for the outing. Only this outing was allowed to have a full bar on the teebox-- bottles of liquor covering the table on the tee-box. Well this obviously caused a delay-- when we got to the tee-box, there were 4 groups ahead of us to wait through before we could play the hole. 4 groups! What a joke of an experience. This was the slowest round of golf I've ever played, and that would have been one thing. But then for the ranger to try and scold us for playing the first hole slow-- when we didn't-- and when he damn well knew he was sending us out for a 6 hour round-- that pushed me over the edge. Will never return to this place and I suggest you stay away, as well.

Had a cod fish fry. For the twelve dollars I will say that there could have been more fish. The fries were also under cooked. My wife had the lake perch which was done quite well (I believe it was 14 dollars). My friends had another cod fry and he stated that his fish was a bit under cooked and his eagle fries were over cooked. Nice ambience, but drinks were also expensive; a domestic beer and a mixed drink was 11 dollars.

Got charged double the rates on Father's day because it was the US Open weekend. Checked prices online prior to making reservations and when I made the reservation they did not tell me of the exorbitant fee, unfortunate as my father and brother were really looking forward to playing the course. We ended up playing because of the course ratings and expectations, again unfortunately those were not met either. The greens and traps were not good at all, ball marks, rocks, goose poop on the greens and the traps were not raked and the sand was very heavy and wet. I also contacted them via email and never got a response, poor customer service...

If you are looking for a fairly good test of golf, Fire Ridge will do it for you. With various sets of tee boxes, the course promotes playability for all skill levels (other than the true beginner). The course is always consistently in good shape. The following are what sets it apart from many courses in the area. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. The head pro Andy is the best pro I have ever worked with and I have worked with several. If you want to play better he is your man. Now back to the course, you have to hit shots here but the course is not overly penal. The greens are large, quick and undulating. The fairways are ample but be aware of the slope on some of them! After your round enjoy dinner or a snack at Flannery's for a bonus to your round! All in all a great experience!
