It's hard to describe this place other than it was ok. The steak didn't taste like it had any salt or pepper added. The baked potato was definitely overcooked and reheated, there was exactly 2 mouthfuls of mushy canned veggies, and the bread was undercooked. The service was also ok, and the atmosphere had a pretty typical Wisconsin supper club feel. This was our 2nd visit here. The first visit was a few years ago, and I thought it was 'ok' then as well.

Got some takeout food including a full rack of baby back ribs which were amazing for $28. The ribs were 8/10 as far as tenderness and fall off the bone quality goes, and the sauce was very tasty, I would order them again. The baked potato was good. I didn’t have the soggy vegetables issue others have experienced, however, they were bland, like they were either microwaved or steamed/boiled in plain water. A little salt helped remedy this.
Girlfriend got the grilled chicken sandwich which she thought was okay, nothing special enough to order again, and the mashed potato’s were even more lackluster. You want a good chicken sandwich, go to Plier’s in Port Washington.
Otherwise, the inside seemed nice and the staff was friendly. They even gave me a rose for my girlfriend since it was Valentine’s Day, what a cute touch.
Overall, the food seemed hit or miss, but I would still be willing to come back try some other meals.

I really don't have any complaints about the food *although the fries on my last visit weren't seasoned at all* service was good, and the atmosphere is good. my only complaint would be that the sign is basically impossible to see at night. I actually said on my way there "I wonder if they fixed their sign yet" it's the exact same from when I was growing up and I'm 38 now. also there is basically no lighting in the parking lot aside from right in front of the restaurant, people that don't know where it is won't be able to find it, even with GPS it is a bit tough depending on where you're coming from to not miss it.

Seems to have gone down hill. Was there for a large event recently and food was served buffet style. When half the people got through the line they were out fan out of vegetables and cheese. they were not on top of replenishing food. As it was running out they would bring a very small bowl and dump it in, so at any given time at least one of the items on the buffet was empty. I have not been impressed the last few times I have been there

Wait staff was very nice. But the food wasn’t. We didn’t say anything because we didn’t want to but after reading the reviews we agree you should know not to waste your time. We had the scallops for $21.95 and they were not pan seared, probably came out of a frozen bag from Aldi, the vegetable was clearly from a frozen bag and the potatoe was warm but not hot. We also paid another $7 for a salad. So almost $30 for each dinner. That’s a lot for what we were served. Our food came all too quickly after our salad and the table next to us that was sat 5 minutes later got their food what seemed to be 5 minutes after us. It’s overpriced and not worth your bother. Sorry not sorry.

Bar staff and Hannah, our server, were perfect! As stated in other reviews, the salad bar was OK, NOT worth the $7 you have to pay even with your meal. $15+ just for the salad bar??? No way! I ordered the special: parmesan crusted white fish that came out raw! Cook offered another one (I would think it would come out the same, should be as this Was the special) mine would have gone in the trash and next one would be no different. (I hate waste) so opted to take mine home to make soup. Chissys and Fuddgies have WAY better broasted chicken, which my husband got. Go for the drinks, then move on.

We had dinner last night with our 3 children. I was apprehensive because of the negative reviews BUT I must say "don't believe everything you read". You really must experience it for yourself. Christmas decorations were a delight. Our waitress and all the staff we came in contact with were pleasant and polite. I had the salad bar which was full of crisp variety lettuce, lots of toppings, noodle salads and cute bread shaped croutons that were delicious. Salad bar is chilled to perfect Temperature. My husband had the flat iron steak which was medium to the tee. Our oldest had chicken tenders that looked hand dipped and she ate everything. Our middle daughter had a chicken sandwich which she liked and ate everything. Our youngest ordered grilled cheese and since he never eats his food when we go out; we took it to go and he ate everything the next day for lunch. Our children had sundaes for dessert which are very large and they enjoyed them. We will be back!!

The meal started out great with a salad and cheese curds but went down hill from there. I had the broasted chicken with onion rings, mixed veggies and applesauce. I couldn't eat the chicken. Although it seemed moist it was rubbery, the breading had NO flavor and had un-chewable bits. The onion rings looked delicious but they didn't taste like onion at all, bits were raw and the breading had no flavor. The veggies were a pale, mushy mess and I couldn't even try them. My son had the chicken tenders and fries. It also came with the horrible veggies. The chicken, again, was rubbery and had no flavor. The fries were, thankfully, good. What an expensive disappointment! Do they not season anything??? We will not be going back.
Update: 5 Pillars replied to my review telling me I should have told someone about the bad food. Well, can they imagine all 3 of us telling them we didn't like our food? Also, our server never even batted an eye when we told her we didn't need boxes yet our plates were still full of food. I probably would have said something if she would have said "you haven't eaten anything. Didn't you like the food?" But she didn't and I was too embarrassed for the restaurant and myself to complain about everything. We just paid the bill, tip included, and left.

Was in there for dinner for a Friday fish fry. I really can't understand the negative reviews on here. I guess everyone has an opinion, no matter how wrong it might be. I had the salad bar and chicken dumpling soup to start with. Both were very good. I then had the perch sandwich with broasted potatoes. The perch was a nice big perfectly breadec piece that hung over a well toasted bun.

I would give negative 5 stars if i could!!! I Got the chicken tenders which is more like no chicken and just fried breading. Added the salad bar for 7 dollars and it was just iceberg lol, the food looked like they ran to kwik trip and grabbed it off the warmer and then charged 25 dollars a plate, please I am begging you please do not come here and waste your money, A banquet TV dinner will have more depth and flavor. Went to Five Pillars last night as "date night". Yikes! Children running through the dining area screaming should have been an indication that the dining experience to come was not going to be good. Food was awful. Ordered prime rib and it was fry pan heated. Chicken Cordon Bleu was terrible. Salad had brown lettuce. Wonton wrapped mozzarella sticks were overdone. Never again.

We hadn't been here for a couple of years. If there hadn't been cars in the parking lot, I would have thought it was an abandoned building. Parking lot full of weeds as well as the entrance was overgrown. Upon entering the bar area, the carpet was black in the traffic area. We had reservations & were seat right away. We understand places are short staffed so we were patient. While waiting @ our window table, it was quite apparent that the windows had not been washed in years, the railing outside was thick in bird droppings as was the deck. The gutters of the adjoining building were packed full. Our server was kind but certainly overwhelmed. Food was ok but I'm wondering what the kitchen looks like given the state of the building inside & out. Sadly, I know Five Pillars has been around for a long time but we will not be back nor would I recommend.

I've eaten at this restaurant several times hoping the food would be as great as it was after one of my first visits a few years ago. It's unfortunately gotten worse. My baked cod was undercooked. My burgers are either burned or served raw. We ordered dinner last night for a special celebration, the wait was over an hour but decided to wait anyways. We got our food home and the burger and bacon was burned. We took it back asking for medium rare but when we got it home it was now raw. I thought they were just messing with us at this point. I called in and Mary (the owner) answered. Her reasoning is that a burger still cooks while in the Styrofoam container. You would think after owning this place for over 22 years a medium rare burger would be an easy dish to cook but apparently it isn't. They need a decent cook and thermometer, not sure who's cooking or why the food is so inconsistent but let's just say the food is as bad as the exterior is run down. Take your business elsewhere is what I advise, you'll be disappointed.

This place is a joke these days, a year ago the place was great for wad delicious and consistent. The last 6 months place is terrible, order the same thing every week, and every week its cooked differently. Ask for med rare you will get well done this week, raw the next. Last few weeks, you try an order and they have over an hour wait, and then call back and they say can't even take an order until 700. Its to bad, place used to be great, save your money and eat out else where

The wife had lake perch a good portion of well prepared fish with sides, and I had the potato chip crusted pan fried pike special. The pike was probably the lightest fried fish I've ever had, tender and tasty without being greasy at all. Dinner for two with one cocktail a piece, a healthy tip and out the door for under $50, guaranteed we're going to be back soon!

I ordered there fish fry. First time ordering as we just moved to the area. My thoughts on fish, is it is a great way to judge a restaurant. Fish is typically very easy to cook and do right. Welp, normally fish should break apart when bent. My fish was so rubbery I could fold it in half. To be honest, this is just speculation, I really feel like we got food from someone else's plate. The French fries where exactly the same. They where not cooked fresh, and were microwaved,only explanation.

I do not recommend, if you can't cook fish you have no buisness cooking at all. Almost afraid to order anything else.

Spent $107 for valentines night out with my wife. My ribeye steak was not medium rare but well done, dry, flavorless except for freezer burned taste. My wife thought her prime rib didn't have much flavor but was cooked properly. The vegetable. Were so soft they were nearly liquid. I had to really complain and they took off $8 off my $30 steak. Have gone their quite a few times over the past 4 yrs. Have had two bad experience lately. Usually order the prime rib .. love the salad bar, but last night and recently the prime rib was more than half white fat when served. The flavor was good, but I have never seen so much white fat served . I've ordered the med size and last nite smaller size. The fat was larger than the meat! It will be a long time before we return! When I mentioned it to the waitress later, she brought us both a 3oz size of meat to take home cuz she felt guilty and wanted a tip. Has only happened to us when Mary helps in the kitchen . Does she have it in for us??

Was there this last Saturday, bar area very loud which flows into diningroom, unable to hear person next to me without speaking loudly. Salad bar has soup bowls for plates, with one time visit allowed. We ordered prime rib which came 45 minutes later, we both ordered medium, got rare, was not going to sent it back sinse it took 45 minutes to get it. Baked potatoe warm, but not hot.
