travelers please believe the reviews about the cabins, they are anything but rustic like the owners told me they were very rustic, well her idea of rustic and mine are way different the cabins are old, rundown, fire hazard, smelly, broken windows, yucky bedding, old carpeted floors, water heater that looked like it had once caught fire, we just felt totally unsafe staying in the cabin. We placed the key on the table and left, there was no service wifi so we had to go to the main road and search for a hotel room within driving distance or sleep in our car which we would have done rather than stay in those yucky cabins another thing I was told that linens were provided but NO you needed to bring towels etc and the price was very high for dirty, old cabins. Travelers please believe the reviews about the cabins, you don't want to stay in them. I learned my lesson never again will I stay at Flying Eagle Resort Cabins. I can't say how the campground itself is or the bar and food we didn't use that part of the resort. Our opinion is that those cabins need to be gutted or tore down.

We were in cabin #10 for one night. Smelled like dog pee. Cabins are ok. Older. Rustic, but what you would expect for a lakeside cabin. No coffee maker. Host was friendly. RV's were mostly permanant residence. Neat location. Restaurant/bar on site.

I paid $50 per night to camp in a field. Went for breakfast, left because the service was that slow. Any table was dirty and they were too short staffed to clean them. There is no swimming beach.

Our family loves this place! A little utopia tucked away into the north woods of Wisconsin. The owner, Gloridy, runs this place perfectly for snowmobilers and atv riders looking for a hot plate and a cold beer off the trail, families on a vacation, or retirees looking for a long term tv hookup. The food is surprisingly good for a resort bar like this tucked away in the middle of the woods, and even has dishes like sushi, Mongolian stir fry, and favorites such as cheese curds and chicken noodle soup! I even got lucky enough to see a family of deer walking across the frozen lake at sunset. Plus, great for fishing, even if I want to keep it a secret!

Bar/Restaurant serves fresh delicious food. Their bourbon chicken, curry, and Mongolian BBQ is so very yummy! Definitely worth the drive.

Do not stay in the cabins! I have stayed in many places over my years and this one topped the list for one of the worst. The cabins should be torn down! We should have went off of reviews on the cabins from 2016 where they had low ratings and here we are in 2024 and they are unbearable. The smell is so bad, I am not sure if it is the mold everywhere or dead animals in the walls. With no cell service, we were not able to call other places let alone being way up north, there is not much available. We were on a motorcycle but if we had a car, we would have slept in the car.

The house made pizza is so good. Perfect thin crust and fresh toppings. Superb service. And the place is spotless.
Don't miss out on watching the hummingbirds swarm the feeders or the eagles fishing for dinner in basswood lake from your comfy seat at the bar. We'll definitely be back!

I rented a cabin for the night and was extremely pleased. Beautiful little rustic cabin with kitchen. Very cozy old cabin , exactly what we like. The bar on the property had live music and staff were very friendly and hospitable. I had accidentally left behind a pair of earring I had recently made, I was so upset with myself. I called and they agreed to send them back to me in the mail. Incredibly kind of them!! I would love to come back for a longer stay in the future.

Rustic & cozy cabin is what we got with this rental. All cabin essentials were provided minus toiletries and towels. Full kitchen. There is a small stream to put a chair in and your feet in the water otherwise there is no swimming area. Fishing is possible yet not flattering as there is a diminishing dock.
On the plus side it was a great place to unplug and unwind. Having a restaurant on site was nice, we had the fish fry, Reuben, and the bourbon street chicken. It was all very very good.

VERY disappointed in this. Heard good things about the resort with the cabins. Got a cabin for my husband & our family and when we got to the resort there was no key given to us for security reasons. No paper or electronic thing to check into the cabin. Was told that the cabin we booked was open and to walk right in. We struggled with opening the door, the foundation was breaking away, when we walked in the cabin, smelled so strong of propane. We tried opening windows and that didn’t help at all. The floor by the kitchen area was uneven and unsafe. The shower water lines were connected to the wood post with clear tape. When you used the toilet, it would move off the floor and not be still. Barely any of the lights worked in the cabin, we used probably only three that worked. Woke up freezing this morning. I had it booked for the whole memorial weekend but we only stayed one night. And worst thing was that it’s not refundable. I feel so terrible for trying to take my family up to my hometown area and try something new and have it blow in my face. So disappointing and wont ever go here again.

While traveling from Michigan to the US west coast, friends and I stayed at this lovely placed camp ground. When presented with a problem pertaining to our cabin, we were readily and speedily assigned an available cabin. Clean sheets, shower, toilet, sink, kitchen (with provided appliances, such as microwave, coffee maker, silverware, etc.). With three of us, we all had our own room and full/queen-sized beds.

The location is tucked away, off the beaten path, but that worked with our travel plans. Many people there seemed to participate in the normal camp activities, with a lake and trails around.

Would stay again if needing a place in the area.

Rented the "Log" cabin. It's very rustic. Essentially, it is an old double wide with log siding. This may sound bad, but the price was phenomenal. The new management seems eager to make improvements, so we left a short list of the concerns we found. The cabin is located halfway between the older restaurant/bar and the newer bar/dance building. It's a few dozen yards to either, so don't expect a super quiet stay, but do expect to wake up to the loons' neat calls. It seems very reminiscent of a resort bar I visited when much younger, so I'm planning on inviting a few old friends to take it easy, have a few drinks, and explore northern Wisconsin soon.

We stayed in one of their cabins. It was filthy. Cobwebs in the windows, terrible odor throughout, but the most disgusting thing was the unemptied coffee filter literally covered with mold. This cabin was obviously never cleaned since the last user. While we enjoyed the bar---bartender, beers and tacos----we would NEVER stay at this place again.

Nice accommodations BUT prices on their website didn’t match what we were charged. When we questioned the difference the owner was very rude and brushed it off saying the website was out of date. Our cabin had six beds however we were charged extra per night per person for more than 4 people. Extra fee for trailers even though it states FREE parking. Per fee was outrageous and never communicated when reservations were made. We won’t be returning.

Not the best experience! First there was a sewer smell near the site that lasted all weekend. Then confusion over the cost of the site first we were told 40 per camper then told 20 so we paid 20 then the next day we were told the bartender was wrong for charging us 20 it should have been 40 ... the power went out many times as well during the stay and the bathroom showers did not have warm water. For 80 bucks with two campers smashed on one site the amenities sure weren't there. It was 4th of July weekend so beggars can't be choosers but I will never return!

If our experience is an indicator, I don't know why anyone would feel welcome. We were taking a walk with our dog while staying in the area. We decided to check out the resort after seeing their sign that says liquor bar and food. After walking past the restaurant building, a man asked if he could help us. When we told him we were staying in the area and we're out for a walk, he said the place was private property and we shouldn't be there. He also asked if we would let people walk on our property (we do).

The resort should add private property to their sign and take down the bar and food part.

One would think a person in the hospitality business would be hospitable.

For what it's worth we are a couple in our seventies.

Been coming for 30 plus years and what a shame! The waiters are not friendly and service from them is absolutely terrible! Rhonda is in back busting her tail and her waiters are ruining it all! Sat down with 6 of us and waited after getting the menus while three other tables came in. The male waiter proceeded to take their drink orders, on all tables, then came back for their meal orders without ever talking with us again! Third time this has happened so no “bad day”!! We left and will not be back!

Nice resort property on a small lake. Atv trails are very close by (they are a trails sponsor for all ATVers).

The stand out is their staff. We had a flat tire in our group and limped it in since they were the closest facility to us. Checked in at the bar and they got us helped out in minutes. One of their regulars even helped guide us to the maintenece shop for the repair. Plugged the tire and we were back on the trails in under 20 minutes. The entire experience for a non-guest was great. We will stay here next trip for sure!!

Great owners. Rhonda and Govie will go the extra mile to make sure your experience here is great.
They have a playground, paddle boats and excellent bluegill fishing right off their dock for the kids.
For the adults, a full liquor bar, internet jukebox, video gaming machines, pontoon and boat rentals.
They also serve excellent food, and often feature live music.
I've been enjoying the resort for 27 years, and Rhonda and Govie continue to keep the fun going for my friends and I.

Basically the rentals are nothing more than a part time nuisance for the owners. This is nothing more than a camp ground where you basically rent a space to leave your RV/trailer. The owners make their money off those and the bar. Plus: view is nice, bar was ok and the food, for bar fare, was ok. Negatives: as mentioned above and, the cabin was filthy, mouse poop everywhere. Nothing had been done by the owner to clean it prior to our arrival. Also, the heater barely kept the chill at bay. The peaceful setting was nice until the drunken four wheelers show up about 10 pm and carry on racing around and in short, conducting themselves like idiots until 3,4or 5 in the morning. In short, if you like that type of conduct, and cleanliness is not a concern, by all means, stay there.
