I haven't order had afood from here in a whilenso i tried placing an online order. It recquired me to select no bread to add the food to my order (why have that option if there is no option.)
But the main problem is when i tried submitting the order, i got an error saying the store was too busy for online orders. Again, why have online orders if theyre not available.
I enjoyed the food previously, the toppings available changed since then (maybe seasonal black beans), but i cant even place the order.

This restaurant is located within the Hillsdale Shopping Center. This restaurant offers healthy salads, bowls and plates that are locally sourced for an affordable price.

Almost everything on their menu is initially vegetarian or vegan but you can add meat proteins like chicken.

The customer service here is excellent!

There is a large free parking lot for the shopping center. You have to walk a little ways into the shopping center to get to Forage Kitchen.

I’ve eaten here several times over the years, as I live close by. It’s been a while since my last visit, and had a craving tonight, so ordered pick up. When I got home & sat down to eat, I was incredibly disappointed in the quantity of food I received (and I added—and paid for—additional ingredients). My bowls have always been filled to the top, usually past the top and into the extended lid space, and this time the bowl was barely 2/3 full. I understand increasing prices if they need to cover increased costs on their end (facility, wages, ingredients, etc.), but don’t give less food when your longtime customers expect what they’ve consistently gotten in the past. That said, it was delicious as expected, but not filling enough.

Update: After responding to a survey they emailed me, the manager did refund the full price of my meal. So I will give them another chance in the coming months and update my review if I have a better experience.

I used to be a die hard Forage fan but over the past couple years the quality and value for the price has gone way down. Multiple locations have started to really skimp on the greens (some even weighing them!?), barely covering the bottom of the bowl. I come to Forage to get a salad and the most essential ingredient is nearly nowhere to be found. Staff seem to be not trained well as they frequently forget multiple ingredients for items off the standard menu. Many times the forbidden rice is hard and nearly chip a tooth. For $15 I would expect a better quality salad. Really hope to see improvements soon.

I am a tried-and-true omnivore… Not a vegetarian, not vegan… But I have to tell you what I had at forage kitchen today makes me think I could actually be a vegetarian

I had a salad with tempeh protein and it was just spectacular !

The restaurant itself is very pleasant for sitting and having lunch, outdoor seating and good weather is beautiful as well

Healthy, tasty food! Fiesta bowl was a bit spicy for our taste, but what you would expect for a Mexican flavored dish. Local roots was just okay. It had beets and feta cheeze in it. The Jerk Bowl with jerk chicken was delicious and very filling. Definitely a good choice. The Thai bowl is always good too! Definitely will be back to this location at Hilldale mall in Madison, WI. Nice outdoor tables to eat at!

It appears that customers can no longer create their own salad specifying ingredients of their choosing.

Anyway, I dined their twice recently selecting the cashew bowl with chicken. The first time, it was quite pleasing and a slice of bread was offered. I was very skeptical of this place but it's really pretty good! Not as overpriced as I thought, but adding meat adds up. A ramen place will charge a dollar for an egg they marinate for four hours, but Forage charges double that for a plain egg :/ Only use the plastic/plant starch forks, the metal ones aren't always clean.
