I have been eating here for over thirty years. I've tried every chicken, and most of the beef and pork dishes, but none of seafood. No seafood due to my allergies. Favorites : hunan beef, Kong pow chicken, aromatic chicken, and aromatic chicken. Always delicious, generous portions. Clean friendly service. Eat here most weeks and frequently more once a week! Fortunate Cookie used to be so good but since Covid it has hit rock bottom and below. The service is slow, unfriendly and rude. Hello and thank you do not exist at this business. The food is dreadful! The fried items were so over cooked and greasy they were inedible. The wrappers for the Rangoon and egg rolls were tough and chewy. The stirfry ingredients were questionable with the vegetables being limp and overcooked and the chicken (?) pounded so thin it was almost non existent. I’ve given them many chances to recover since COVID but I’m done. $25 for lunch wasted!

For take out it's probably fine. Just understand that you shouldn't plan to eat in the "dining room". Service is sketch, plastic cutlery is so flimsy it's impossible to use. Atmosphere is NOT good. There's a ladder cluttering up the entrance, yah. Not a good place to take a date

I love Chinese food and their food is good, but I’m not in love with the cash/checks only. I feel like they would get a lot more business living in the heart of the UW STOUT campus! Decent enough quality (with some exceptions here and there) but amazing taste. The most bang for your buck Asian restaurant around!

My personal favorites are the egg rolls and egg drop soup. Delicious!

They offer dine in, takeout, and delivery. Staff is nice enough and the delivery times are accurate. Keep in mind it’s cash only.

Used to eat here as a kid before I moved a few states away, and I swung by to see if they still had those delicious egg rolls. They do!! Tasty with duck sauce and still only $1.75 each - they hadn't raised the price in 10 years! My husband and I got sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, and four egg rolls for under 20 bucks. Not a lot of places you can get dinner for two for those prices anymore. So good and nostalgic!

What a mess! I have never had such a problem with take out orders. My girlfriend and I wanted to try fortune cookie for the first time because we heard good things, but what a terrible mistake. The man that answered to take our order sounded extremely uninterested and acted like it was an inconvenience to be on the phone (doing his job) taking our order. He also rushed the call which caused confusion with the order number. Once we got to the restaurant to pick up our order, I made it very clear that I was not sure which number my order was out of two numbers. She only checked for one of the order numbers which made me assume the other one wasn’t even there so I assumed it was right. She said the total was 16, but the guy on the phone told me my total was 26 so I mentioned that too her. She immediately affirmed this was the right order so I took it. Once we got home, we got a call saying WE took the wrong order. So we turned back around with the food we were given. When I got there, I was expecting to have to give them the wrong order back and then only pay the difference for my order. She had a different idea she wanted to make me pay the total of the wrong order and my own order when I wanted to give her back the wrong order and only pay for the food I wanted. She made it seem like the whole incident was our fault which it definitely was a little bit for not remembering our order number exactly, but she had multiple chances to double check to make sure she was giving us the correct order. Especially when we clearly stated what was in our order and the one she checked and gave us was completely something else. We will not be coming back to fortune cookie, Hangs Cuisine is a 1000x better with their food, service, and price worth.

You get exactly what you want from here which is why I am leaving 4 stars. The food is very typical Chinese food that all seems to taste pretty good. Prices are extremely cheap in a 5-6 dollar range, and the portion is more than enough to bring back to your dorm room for a later meal. Decent quality, great quantity. Every single time I call for delivery, I am told no or strongly discouraged. I’m told the wait time will be over an hour, and when I go to pick up my order instead, there’s no one in the restaurant. No reason delivery should take over an hour. Do not offer delivery if you are going to tell each customer no, or strongly discourage them from ordering. That’s not a good way to run a business. This is honestly the first review I’ve ever given any place, because I also work in a restaurant so most times I’m understanding about poor service. I’m just very frustrated at this point with Fortune Cookie and their lack of customer service. Stop offering delivery if you just don’t want to deliver.

I have been going here for 22 years. The food is amazing and so are the prices. I have had everything on the menu at least 3 times and never been disappointed. They also have the VERY best hot and sour soup ever. By far the best restaurant in Menomonie. Side note, the Eau Claire one is horrible. The owner and employees are friendly and service is fast. The only down side is they only have a few tables for seating, so delivery or take out is a must.
