You need MORE Help! We stopped for lunch in the bar during a side-by-side ride. When we got there, the bar was empty. The bartender was very friendly and said it was her first day. She was by herself! In a bar at lunch time that served food!! We ended up having drinks and leaving because we felt sorry for her as the bar filled! Your loss! There were EIGHT of us!

What a wonderful place to stay - we enjoyed our visit - clean, great front desk staff, pool and hottub were great, the food and drinks at the Boundry Waters Sports Bar were excellent. Abbie did an amazing job serving drinks and food all by herself. Close to all the waterfalls. We were able to get cell service with no issues. Would definitely come back.

My family and I spontaneously decided to stay at the Beautiful Four Seasons Resort after a day of exploring the waterfalls in the area, even though we live one hour away and we are so glad we did! The staff was exceptionally friendly, kind and accommodating! The property is beautiful and serene, the rooms spacious and comfortable. HUGE shoutout to Adom, you were so nice and really helped out with extra bedding and getting some stuff for our kids to play with in the pool, so delightful! I was told the young lady working the restaurant and bar last night(8/6/25), taking phone and drink orders plus waiting tables! You were so efficient and handled it impeccably with humor and grace! This morning Marletta was working the desk and continental breakfast, she was so kind and helpful to everyone that came in, thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful historic hotel, we WILL be back!

The resort was very nice and both hot tub and pool in great shape. Internet was down during our stay which caused a few issues but wasn’t the hotels fault. Room was spacious and very clean. We rented a UTV on the property and had a blast. Did not have time to try the dining here.

I’m reminded of the saying “fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me!” Well, shame on me! I reserved five rooms on June 9th for the weekend of August 8th and received confirmations for each room. The resort called on July 24th to say they didn’t have rooms for me and no record of the confirmation numbers, yet they had my name and phone number. I was told there must have been a glitch in the reservation system, they have three weddings that weekend and no rooms. Hmmmm!😖 We were there last year and “dined” in their steakhouse one evening—one waiter for the whole restaurant and they had no potatoes or beef! 🤦‍♀️ Will we be back—NOT A CHANCE!!

While a cute hotel, it's definitely in need of sprucing up. Bathroom did not have a bathtub like it was supposed to. Rooms felt outdated and worn, though clean. Internet got cut the day before our arrival, and continued to be out through our trip, which was difficult being so remote that no cell service was available. Breakfast was perfectly fine, had a few different options including frozen breakfast sandwiches, Eggo waffles, fresh made waffles, fresh coffee, and cups of juice. Pool and hot tub were saltwater, and the hot tub was scalding if you like that! Convenient having ATV/UTV rentals right at the resort. Resort is quite a distance from any grocery store, so keep that in mind if booking (you'll need to go up to Iron Mountain for that). Personally, not somewhere I'd stay again, but this may be someone else's cup of tea!

Spent a night there last weekend. Pool was great, bar was great, band was great, breakfast was great. Waffle maker! Enough said. My only regret was not getting there sooner and having dinner at the bar. I like that it's Located in the middle of nowhere almost no cell service really let's you unplug and relax. I like the older and dated features from the room to the hotel itself. Newer is Not better. It has real good Shinning vibes. I will be coming back.

Purchased golf “stay and play” package. Paid for package then called resort to reserve room and set tee times. They told us we had to do this online which charged us again. They assured us the online charges would be removed when we arrived. Well, they were not removed. Collin at the desk was rude and very unhelpful. Chuck in the golf shop was nice and assured us the golf charges were removed, but they were not. Spent several hours on the phone trying to get the overcharges removed. Still dealing with it.
Also was not told when we originally called that they had a kitchen fire earlier in the week which caused the kitchen to be closed. Had we know this ahead of time we would have waited a couple weeks to visit.
Would not return due to the unprofessionalism of the staff and management.

STAY AWAY,|while they do have some decent staff, there is not proper management to resolve issues as they arise. |I had purchased a group golf stay. Included room and unlimited golf|I had to reserve online (both room and tee time) My credit card was charged and it was/is a fight to get credited for the over charge.

This was a HUGE MISTAKE a group of guys get together every year to go golfing. We saw your deal on group golfer and decided to give Four Seasons a try. Now we drove 3 hours to come play golf. It started out with wrong room was given out to us, not that big of deal. Group was able top golf on Friday with no issues. Bar service for dinner was poor service was slow and food was sub par at best. Wings were dry along with fish dinner. Get up for Saturday golf went to golf window to check in and the gentlemen states we don't have your reservation? I said we were with group golfer " he said again I don't have your tee time I won't be able to help you go to front desk to see what they can do". I'm like really nothing once again he said he could get us out around 1 pm, but we may have to wait since other golfers have the carts and they come first, but we could walk the course if we want. Really only 20 carts for golf resort? not impressed at this point. Talk with front desk and it was like talking to the wall not able to help in any way, so I asked do you have any recommendation to golf near by? They gave us a few places to try I called and was able to get us in at Hunter Glen golf course. Which I would recommend to play. Go to check out on Sunday tell front desk our room and they are like we don't that room number I'm like well we stay in there for the past two days not sure what more to tell you. Get home and the follow day I get charged 250.00 to my credit card for golfing which we paid for through group golfer. To this day no refund has be posted to my credit card. I have asked to speak to Manager left voice mails for him. I got one call back I was not available at the time co worker to message and he said call him on his cell phone he will answer. " no I'm to busy" Over all I WILL NOT RECOMMEND this place to any of my golfing friends. This was absolutely worst golf trip we have taken ever.

We were really looking forward to staying here. It’s rated as 4 stars but not sure how that is possible. For the price we paid the amenities and service really fell short. They charge a resort fee but so many of the extra amenities were out of order. Internet was down. Ice cream shop not open. The arcade which is not free takes your coins and then the games do not work. Breakfast was a disaster. They had one nice employee who had not help. The coffee ( which I consider the most important part of breakfast) was always out. There was no one to ask to refill. The dispenser was consistently empty and they just didn’t make more until I found someone and then it seemed to take forever. I wanted in this review because my wife spoke to the front desk who said a manager would call her but no one did. Another big issue was the state of the room. It had a kitchenette and the fridge was filthy with sticky food and the oven had melted cheese in door. It seems like no one does anything there and we paid quite a bit for the one night. My first and last time in a four seasons I think.

An overnight deal advertised on Group Golfer. Nice area, with updates most likely last done in the late 90's early 2000's. A nice 9 hole golf course. A great bar area for food/drinks. Pool/Spa area was also very nice. Breakfast is mostly a pre packaged, store bought items, kind of breakfast, but enough to get you going. Overall, I would stay again.

Husband surprised me with a trip to this resort after our wedding (mini-moon). Ended up having a medical emergency and wasn't able to enjoy any of the amenities resort had to offer.

He booked us a king suite w/ the 2 person jacuzzi tub. Very dated, but it was nice. Again, had an unexpected medical problem so not having a separate shower was not so fun to deal with for two nights as I was physically unable to go over the tub to get in and out. I didn't see any wheel chair accessible ramps or anything outside, lots of stairs (which wouldn't normally bother me but I could barely walk due to my injuries so it was quite frustrating)

You have to pay for every activity you want to do, on top of being charged for a daily resort fee. We did get food from the Lounge and my husband enjoyed his pizza while he brought me back a delicious chicken salad. Nothing else was included in our stay except lobby coffee and the cheapest free breakfast I've come across at any resort lol.

Peaceful stay but wouldn't make a special trip back here again.

Tried to get a drink and appetizers in their sports bar and the bartendress was rude and impatient. My husband stood and only tried to ask if we should seat ourselves and was snapped at by the bartendress. We left. They missed out on about 12 of us waiting to spend some money on cocktails and food. Not our fault you're understaffed. Try some manners.

The property is very beautiful, rooms are very spacious, and pool, hot tub, and sauna were all working, in nice condition.

Reading through previous reviews, it seems like there were staffing challenges last year that made for unpleasant experiences for previous guests. We’re happy to report none of those situations were the case for our stay this weekend.

We received excellent, friendly service from the front desk, spa associates (we had incredible facials and massages), and the bartenders at Boundary Waters. It certainly seems that previous staffing issues have been resolved.

The only suggestions we have for an improved experience would be to have later food offerings on the weekend (or to at least serve food until the kitchen closes). Kitchen closes at 9:00, but in reality it closes at 8:30, because you can’t order anything after 8:30.

Lastly, the breakfast offerings are pretty meager, and would be something you’d expect to see at a budget motel, not a resort.

The service was awful came out for fall fest and went to have lunch in the boundary waters and we didn’t get acknowledged for 15 minutes not a hi or hello just ignored. We finally got served come to find out they are all out of beef, 12in pizza crust, and bloody Mary mix. Once our order was placed we waited about 20 minutes for our food. When we got out food it was ice cold and our cheese curds we’re not regular cheese curds they were garlic cheese curds and I was very frustrated as I’m not a fan of garlic and spent $9 on bad cheese curds. Once we finished trying to eat the food we had to wait 25 minutes for our check and boxes and not to mention the bartender taking shots behind the bar.

We liked everything about the resort, except the Chef. We wanted to order a pizza for the Packers game, but we were informed the Chef only uses a Vegan cheese topping, and that he REFUSED to substitute.

On the menu it states 12” and 16” CHEESE pizzas. (That’s confusing) It also lists a gluten free crust option. Why not have the Vegan cheese as an option? That way, everyone is happy. He used real cheese for my quesadilla. It wasn’t that he was simply out of cheese, he wants to make everyone eat something he chooses. It’s Pizza for the crying out loud, not Beef Wellington.

Three things I know from 50 years in the business world are that:
1) The Customer is always right.
2) The Customer is always right.
3) The Customer … ( you get my drift).
That Chef wouldn’t work long for me.

Hosted a 50th wedding anniversary party for my in-laws this past weekend and wish I could say it was a great experience. From the time we initially booked it was a constant struggle to have any communication with an event planner to actually make the plans. We had to deal with 3-4 different people and my husband was always the one to have to initiate any contact to find out what was going on and make sure plans were actually moving forward. I understand that there was some staff turnover but that would be up to management to ensure that events were still being handled.
On the day of the party, there was no event planner on site. The only staff working our party was the caterer and 2 other bartenders. These ladies really busted their butts for us, but they definitely could have used more help. Maddie was amazing, she had so much on her plate but was always checking in to see what we needed. She definitely deserves a big raise for all she seems to do there.

Another thing we noticed is that the Summer Salon has no tapper in the bar...the girls were having to lug pitchers of beer from down stairs and then they were left to sit on the bar...which made for a lot of warm beer that people weren't too enthused to drink. Seems that a simple solution to that would be to bring the keg upstairs and place it in a barrel of ice. Just sitting a bunch of pitchers on the bar to get warm seemed a bit ridiculous.

We also had issues with members of our party not having rooms ready at check in time, or not having a room at all that they had already reserved in advance. My husband was running around all night trying to address these issues when he should have been enjoying the celebration for his parents. We had people that ended up having to leave early to drive home 2 hours because the room they booked was somehow no longer available. Having a manager or event planner on sight during the actual event would have been helpful.

I dislike leaving a negative review, but for the price we paid, we expected more than what we got. The place has so much potential to be great, but I feel like there needs to be better management for that to happen. The staff that did show up there were great, and did the best they could with what they had available to them. Again, another big shout out to Maddie, who was wonderful to work with.

We didn't stay at a hotel.
But we did have “dinner” at their high-end “restaurant”. 🙄1905 Steakhouse 🙄
If you could imagine anything going wrong with this place, add some more.
I usually don't leave bad reviews- if I don't like it I just ignore it and not visit again.
Places I like in any way I would leave 5 stars and maybe write a few good words.
I waited long enough to see if management would reach back to hear concerns and complaints, but ignorance of the manager is tell all you need to know
Stay a way from this “restaurant”

P.S. I couldn’t find this establishment for waisted food and $ on Google maps either.

Steakhouse and Ice Cream Parlor are only open seasonally or for weddings/special events.
Super nice property, rooms were very nice, very clean. Super comfortable beds. Food and Beer at the on site bar were incredibly well priced.
The arcade was open and all machines were working, 3 pinball machines on site, pool table at the bar.

I was floored by this hotel. From the outside it’s an absolutely beautiful hotel to stay at. However, similar to other reviews, there’s major issues within the hotel. There are not enough staff members for this hotel to be ran successfully. The girl who checked us in had informed us that the steakhouse on site would be closed over the weekend but if it wasn’t we’d need to reserve 24 hours prior so we wouldn’t be able to get in anyways with when we checked in. When we asked about the other restaurant opened, we were told that there was a 2+ hour delay with food (chef was bringing out cold food from other guests who mentioned). When we asked what was within a 30 minute distance for food, she told us she was not from the area and could not help us. If you’re going to have someone at the front desk, you should have a list of places within a 0-30 min and 60-90 min drive for guests to quickly reference.

Furthermore, similarly to other reviews, the hot tub was not in working condition. The elevator kept breaking over the course of the weekend we overheard from other guests so we opted to take the stairs during our stay and sent our luggage down on its own to not get stuck as everything was broken. The ice machines were also out of order. The breakfast area was awful. No fruit. No real breakfast options. We paid this amenities fee and for what? Nothing worked.

The room itself was nice however the pullout coach was dirty. The sheet on it did not look like it had been washed in months. There was hair on the clean towels and you could tell the shower wasn’t cleaned prior to our stay. There was left over shampoo bottles from previous guests which indicated the shower wasn’t cleaned and the ceiling had water damage.

It’d sad to see such a historical hotel go downhill. Hopefully management changes and they are able to fix what’s broken.

When it came to the card hold when checking in, the sign on the front that said a $100 hold would be charged to the card on file, was not actually true. We woke up on our last day to numerous “random” charges which I went to inquire about. The system does not charge the stay as a whole which is interesting but would have been nice to know you’re charged per day and then an additional charge for the amenities (which again don’t even work and not sure why we had to pay for this). The guy at the front desk couldn’t even explain the charges and we figured it out after asking for a printed bill. On top of basically no staff - the staff onsite doesn’t know how to do their job.

There was a wedding the same weekend and I heard the guests were really unhappy as well with cold food.

I wouldn’t stay here again

This place has so much potential but definitely fell short. The location is cool, the rooms are clean, but they seem terribly understaffed. This is the 2nd time we came here and both times going to the bar and grill the service was basically nonexistent. They never check on you. We waited forever just for someone to come over and wipe down our table. Then after we ordered, we were pretty much on our own. My husband had to ask another staff member for our bill. When we finally got our food, our order was messed up and he asked if “it was ok”. The continental breakfast in the morning is a joke. It’s just cereal, oatmeal packets, some breads, and frozen microwaveable things. And they ran out of bowls.

This review for 1905 Steakhouse in the Four Season Resort.
Let me start off by saying I wish I wasn't writing this review. However, I think it's important to address how something that was supposed to be an eventful night out celebrating, turned into the worst experience I have ever encountered, at this restaurant on September 21. 2024

The steaks were cold. The soups were cold. I ordered the salmon and it was completely overcooked and dry. It was inedible. The sides were also poorly prepared and lacked flavor. Myself and 3 other adults barely ate any of it.

We had high expectations based on the positive reviews, but everything about our experience was a major letdown. The food was mediocre at best and the staff seemed disinterested in providing good customer service.

I will definitely not be returning.

My husband and I came to celebrate our 20th anniversary this weekend. We were really looking forward to the updates since new ownership, as we haven't been there in probably 15 years. The room was nice, but everything else was understaffed. Their website is outdated, so when I read that we should meet at the Pro shop to pick up our rented UTV, the Pro shop was closed. I then walked down to where I saw the UTVs parked, 15 minutes later, a young man picked us up in a golf cart just to take us BACK to the front desk (where everybody said the website is wrong - ok, please get it updated!) where our UTV was brought to us. We had to ask for maps, etc. (Having not taken the trails in over a decade, some direction would've been nice.) Trying to make reservations at the Steakhouse on Saturday night took more effort than necessary as well. After standing at the "Please Wait To Be Seated" sign for a hostess for 20 minutes, we were finally seated, only for 2 other full tables of people tell us that they'd been waiting for almost 2 hours for their food. It was already after 8:00 and didn't feel like waiting any longer, so luckily The Boundary Waters was able to acommodate us, as they also did on Friday. One of the biggest let downs was that the hot tub was STILL out of order (it didn't work when we were here 15 years ago, too! Then WHY is there water in it??). The golf was nice and easy to get on the course. I think this resort is overpriced and I'm not sure what the resort fee covered, as we still had to pay for golf and utv-ing. We won't be back for quite some time.

Beautiful Establishment however absolutely horrible bartending service at Boundary Waters bar. We walked in lady bartender asked if we’re going to eat, we said no she said good cause it’s an hour and a half wait then proceeded to walk away from us. We did not get served a drink for about 20 minutes (bar was not full) Sign she did not come back to us but proceeded to wait on others that approached the bar after us.

When you call it a $99.00 flash sale and charge more. That does not make sense. When all amenities are not available to you, why would you be charged the full rate (whatever that is). Room was dusty and dirty and al the shower. Why you would have a bed right up against the air conditioner is beyond me, just to make room for a small kitchenette.
This place is horrible. I gave this place a chance and sent 2 emails to the manager with NO reply.
Shame on you in not making it right.

Not very impressed with this place. For the cost of the, I got here and was told the hot tub was broken, and the kitchen in the sports bar was broken, so no hot tub, and instead of eating at my hotel after my long journey as I was planning, I had to drive all the way into Pembine to get not great food at a bar. You can tell from the signs in the elevator, the hot tub has been down awhile too. The ice machines are also broken. There are no USB chargers as there were in my other rooms on this trip, so I couldn't charge my phone as I have been mostly charging on the go, and don't have the wall unit, not at issue at other hotels though with modern things. I was also excited that there were modern looming tvs so I could stream Netflix at night as I was able to in other hotels on this trip....but they only have absolute basic cable. Again, not the end of the world normally, but if you call yourself a 4 star hotel, you probably shouldn't have motel TV. And the breakfast was absolutely horrible. Nothing but cereal and toast and a few prepackaged things. I microwaved a frozen Jimmy Dean sandwich that was awful. If your listing on Google says 4 star hotel, you need to make sure you are operating at that level.

We reserved a king room with a jacuzzi tub for our weekend getaway. I called earlier in the week and asked about the hot tub (online said it was down) the guy that answered said it will most likely be up and running this weekend. Unfortunately it was not. Walking into the hotel, I thought “wow this is beautiful! This hotel experience is going to be wonderful.” We walked to our room, opened the door and were hit in the face with the awful smell of cigarette smoke. Room was very spacious which was nice, basically like a 1 bedroom apartment. Our door was “sticking” so we had to slam it shut and yank it open, I had to use the restroom, I sat down and almost ended up on the floor. The toilet seat wasn’t attached. We had garbage on our floor, FLIES! There was old food on the stove, the microwave was disgusting and leftover burnt food was caked on the turntable, crumbs all over the toaster, the jacuzzi tub was a thick layer of dust, the bathroom mirror was covered in spit. Food was stuck to the counters and dining table, the bathroom door would not close, EVERY SINGLE DISH WAS DIRTY. We grabbed a butter knife and it was caked with jelly, all the plates were put away without being washed. I was extremely disappointed so I went to the front desk. I waited for 25 minutes as no one was tending the front. When I brought up all the problems, the girl said she could come by with a cleaning cart, and she asked who cleaned our room. I let her know it was Brooklyn. When she came to our room she left us dishwasher pods (disappointed that we got left to wash all the dishes and silverware when it wasn’t our mess. We ended up running the dishwasher 5 times while being there and all we used was 1 knife and our own 2 personal cups.) She washed our mirror, gave us extra toilet paper & took pictures of a few things. While cleaning, the front desk called and comped us 1 free night which was appreciated. We went to the pool, the bottom of the pool is chipping paint. You can tell they don’t clean it. We made a reservation at the steakhouse (FYI - if you cancel your reservation in under 24 hours, they charge $25 to your room) we were told the steakhouse isn’t open this weekend due to short staff. Our only option was the sports bar. What next? Day 2 went down for breakfast, what a joke. Options: bagel, toast, cereal, mini frozen sandwich, milk, coffee, tiny juice cups. And you are charged a resort fee? For what? I had a massage with Michelle, HIGHLY recommend! Golf was a bit chaotic. Front desk told us where to go, however no one was down there to give keys to the cart, etc. ended up having to go back to the lobby again. After golf, we went to the sports bar and ordered wings with ranch and nachos with no tomatoes. Bartender listed everything they were out of, one was tomatoes. When we got our food, we had tomatoes on our nachos, wings and no ranch. The nachos were awful, I assumed the meat would be seasoned with taco seasoning, but it was just greasy. Once we got our bill, I noticed we had drinks on our bill that we didn’t even order. We ended up going back down to the bar later on for a drink and to check out their fish fry. Glad we didn’t order fish as all of it was coming out burnt. Also out of bluegill. We ended up ordering a pizza. I asked if we could get it uncooked (we wanted to cook it in our oven in our room a little later) the bartender laughed at us and said they aren’t going to give us a raw pizza with no where we could cook it. I let him know we have a stove in our room. He said “oh ok! Good for you!” Like it was a joke. We ended up waiting over an hour for our pizza. Saturday they never had prime rib, a lot of people were disappointed. We ended up going to the Island Casino, ate there, delicious! Ice machines were down on all floors, urinals were broken in the bar. Ugh, there’s so much more, but I’ve exceeded the amount of characters to add more. Everything was very disorganized, broken or dirty. Not a good experience for us. I don’t think we will ever go back. Save yourself the headaches/disappointment and book elsewhere.

Trip sucked! When things ran out at breakfast they said what was there was all they had. When we asked for a few towels they said room service had gone home. When we asked for utv/atvs to rent they said you had to give them weeks notice. We asked for the horseshoes so we could play, they said they no longer had them, they didn’t have cornhole or any of the other yard games. Their “all day” coffee and hot chocolate was not even warm and they said they couldn’t make more. The rooms were big and all the equipment worked, but all tv went out many time. The beds were very uncomfortable. There was nothing to do around there. We wanted to rent a pontoon boat but again we had to give a long notice.

Didn't stay at the resort-stopped for lunch. Very disappointing-i ordered fish-was barely warm. Had a group of 9 of us and one never got their order. Would not go for lunch again. Husband had pulled pork and said it was good.

Room was great. Golf course needs a ton of work. Played 18, had a coctail in our room and then thought we would grab something to eat. Was told only one restaurant was open and thru close at 9. Got there at 8:15 and no food. What???? We were told it didn't matter if we got there earlier, there wouldn't have been any food anyhow Where should we go now?? All they had was frozen pizza so since we had zero choices, we took our chances. Big mistake. The bartender was clueless. We tried to order 2 cheese and sausage pizzas and she brought us 2 cheese pizzas and 2 cheese and sausage pizzas. Really? You thought we'd eat an entire pizza each. She didn't even know how to cook them. One was burnt 2 were not even done and we didn't get to the 4th. They should have paid us to eat those horrible "pizzas". At least all 4 of us had stomach issues the next day. Tried to tell the bartender how crappy the pizza was and she looked at us like we asked to name the people on the Titanic. Hotel is great, golf course marginal at best and no food??????? What the hell is that. Save your money, don't go here. Too bad because it could be a nice place.

The location is beautiful but remote. Food service rather sporadic. Supposedly a pair of nice restaurants but they're only open on weekends. Our Sunday through Tuesday visit had us driving into town (some 15 to 30 mile round trip whether you choose Beecher, Pembine or Niagra) to get decent coffee and a real breakfast.
The provided "continental" breakfast was pathetic and the coffee was lacking. The only food service to be had was a bar and grill with limited hours and basic bar food. We passed.
The rooms are OK, bur dated. No extra power outlets or USB plugs. Clean enough but some missed details (a bloody booger or something stuck high up on the inside of the shower curtain) that were missed by the cleaning staff.
Overall, it was a somewhat disappointing stay at a facility charging high resort destination fees. Which, I must say, there was an extra "resort" fee tacked onto the already steeply priced room. With a non-functional hot tub and an over-chlorinated swimming pool you could smell throughout the building.
We won't return.

Disappointing. Proof that simply calling oneself a resort does not make it so. Everything about this place is close but ultimately misses the mark - from uncomfortable beds to lack of food options. If you are there on any day Sunday through Thursday, your only on-site dining option is greasy bar food. The $25 per night "resort fee" gets you a non-functioning hot tub and a breakfast of bad coffee, cold bagels, oatmeal packets, or pre-packaged microwavable pancakes. Left feeling that we'd been tricked by the fancy facade into paying a premium price for a mediocre experience.

My husband and I stopped in the Boundary Waters bar/restaurant for dinner Saturday, August 10. We have a vacation cabin near The Four Seasons and stop frequently at The Lounge bar and Boundary Waters. We’ve always had good food and good service. Not this past Saturday. We both ordered the prime rib special, mine with mashed potatoes, his with French fries. It was horrible, truly bad. The prime rib was very dark brown, very dry and not hot. There was no wonderful juiciness or tenderness that I love about prime rib. My mashed potatoes were barely warm and the gravy congealed on top. My husbands French fries were good though. Honestly, this was the worst restaurant meal I have ever had. I am not exaggerating. I cannot believe they served something so truly bad.||We sat at the bar and the servers truly looked embarrassed although the food quality is not their fault. We frequent The Four Seasons since our cabin is so close but we’re questioning if we will ever go back.

We will be returning!
My boyfriend and I stayed here the weekend of July 26th - July 28th 2024 and we were skeptical because of the mixed reviews.

Arrival was busy which we expected but lobby is really nice with an old time car on display. There was a younger guy working the front desk and you could tell he was newer but he was very polite. He gave us a map of the hotel and if it’s your first time it is a little confusing but it’s easy to figure out.

Our room was on the 3rd and it was a lot bigger than we expected a little outdated but nice. There was a little lounge area when you first walk in with a couch, TV, eating area, mini fridge, microwave and small sink. Then they had 2 closets with extra pillows, blankets and a safe. The beds were comfortable and we had a balcony with small patio set. Also had an outlet outside which was nice!

Friday night we made a reservation at the 1905 Steakhouse and we did have to wait a little bit but there was only one waitress (Bianca) and she was serving 4 tables including a bigger party of 5+ so we understood and we weren’t in any rush. When we got seated we let her know she was doing a great job and we understand and to take her time. She was very appreciative. We had the seafood chowder soup which was AMAZING and shrimp Cajun Cavatappi which was delicious. Bianca was a rockstar!

We golfed on Saturday morning and we had so much fun golfing and I’m not a big golfer so I was happy with the golf course.
I got a 60 minute massage in the spa with Michelle. It was my first professional massage and she made me feel very comfortable. The massage was so relaxing and felt amazing 10/10!!
We also went fishing and didn’t really know a good spot and the staff us to ask a guy named Steve because he knew ALL the good fishing spots. He sent us about 10ish minutes away that was right over the Wisconsin Michigan boarder. We got there and didn’t fish that long because of the mosquitoes (we didn’t bring bug spray) but it was so beautiful to say the least. There was a guy there that said he had caught a lot of fish.
Went to the ice cream parlor it was super cute old timing feeling!
The downstairs bar had great food (pizza, bbq sandwich and burgers) and the staff were also amazing Seth, Maddie, I believe Lydia (she was working Saturday during the day) and also another woman that I believe worked the closing shift Saturday night.
I did also have a drink in the Lounge bar upstairs and Danielle was great!
We did also got to talk with a woman named Zibbie and she was so nice very informative.
Margaret and another woman made check out very easy and answered all our questions!
For being short staffed all the staff members did an amazing job!
There is a lot to see and do at the resort that we wish we had more time for. We definitely will be returning and hopefully get to do more!

The room was very nice...overlooked a green on the golf course. Towels were very worn, definitely not "resort" like. That's where the nice ended. Golf course is not good at all, good thing it's not too expensive to play because it's a disappointment. Breakfast was the capper, cereal, packaged muffins and danishes, and an assortment of bagels and bread. And thats it. When yku pay upwards of 300 dollars a night to stay somewhere, it needs to be MUCH better than that. I have had better breakfasts at little chain hotels...MUCH BETTER! Tried to have food and drinks in the sports bar...yeah didn't happen. Three people waiting on everyone was enough. however after waiting 10 minutes to even get a drink, we were then ignored to get a food order in favor of several people who walked in after us. After waiting another 30 minutes and still being ignored, we simply walked out. Awful. Needless to say service is not their strong point. May consider giving it another try, but for what they charge to stay there it better be a MUCH better experience or never again

Our room was nice, large and clean. I love the historical aspects of this resort. On the negative side, only the grill was open and the food there was mediocre. The sauce on the pizza tasted like a can of plain tomato sauce had been poured on it. The steakhouse, ice cream parlor and the lounge were all closed. The hot tub was out of order. The salt water pool is nice but quite cool. The complimentary breakfast was sad. Breakfast burritos were advertised, but were nowhere to be seen. There was dry cereal, but no milk. There was no fresh fruit. There were bagels but no cream cheese. The restaurant was not open to purchase any hot food and the resort is located in a remote area, so there aren’t any other restaurant options. I might stay there again, but definitely not on a week night.

Wow - this place could be so great. So understaffed which causes strike one. Hot tub and sauna out of order for strike two. Go to the ice cream parlor and the ice cream is frozen to the consistency of marshmallows. The worker in there says “I’m having a bad week and nothing at this resort works.” Used to come here years ago to the tavern on the end and that now has such horrible service that it isn’t even worth going. Literally took 20 minutes to get a drink - the girl that served us just graduated from high school and the guy had zero clue about anything. Paid $50 to golf nine holes with cart and zero service on the course, Greens were damaged and brown in spots, and attacked by bugs the entire time. I can golf courses in major cities for less than that and at least get a cocktail on the course. Could absolutely be a prime destination and a yearly place to visit but won’t be back. Owners should be ashamed that they have such high potential but leave their employees out to dry.

The new management at Four Seasons has in a short time fired long time loyal employees for no substantial reason. Management needs to take care of the golf course before the greens are lost due lack of funding. One of the main attractions of the hotel. Present golf course employees are doing a great job with what they have to work with. At present there is not always someone in the proshop to check golfers in. A message on the door to text or call for reservations. Great management.

Temper expectations and you’ll have a great time. The location itself on the island is super cool. The hotel is clean and pretty nice. Rooms were big, beds were comfy, and we had a balcony. Mini fridge in the room as well as a whole counter with an additional sink. Big bathroom too. The bar downstairs has great pizza. Only had one girl working who was doing her best! Not worth it. Nearly everything advertised is broken or closed, on a weekend at the height of summer. Beautiful building and location with lots of potential. But that's where it ends. Too many to list, but similar to other recent reviews, including staff shortage, out of order hot tub and sauna and other abandoned amenities.

Stayed in a 5 person suite, which was plenty roomy and clean. Towels were a little worn and fraying on the edges. Didn't seem very resort like - cold non saltwater pool (which is what was advertised), sauna and hot tub still broken, floor by pool slimy and slippery. Continental breakfast was disappointing, just cold cereals, frozen breakfast sandwiches. Breakfast items and coffee got depleted quickly and no one restocked. Dinner for 5 at Dockside took over an hour to get. No wait staff there, you're on your own to figure out if you seat yourself, and how you order your food. Rooms are good, service is terrible.

I was extremely disappointed in my stay here. I needed a room overnight while on a business trip to the Michigan Upper Peninsula. When I booked online with a well-known hotel booking site , I was given a rate that was comparable to other hotels so I booked the room. Upon arrival, I was hit with a 'resort-fee' and local taxes tacked on to the price of the original booking price. That added an additional $60.- to my final bill. I was, literally, at the place for less than 15 hours. I didn't do anything except sleep.
I never left the room. Beware of the hidden fees at this hotel.

Dinner at 1905 Steakhouse was very disappointing. The service was very slow. When a steak is priced at $45 it should come with a salad and dinner rolls. A $45 steak dinner should allow a potato choice, not an array of potatoes and veggies that look like they were prepared the previous day. The side order of mushrooms was over cooked and cold. The prime rib was tough, cold, over cooked with no auju. The total experience for my wife and myself was very disappointing considering a bill over $100 before tax or tip. I don't think I ever sent back a meal before in my life, much less had something served which I found inedible. The room is ok, furniture is not very comfortable. Jacuzzi was ok. Pool allows outside guests to use it too. On Fri pool was empty but Sat, when we wanted to go, it was full of kids. Area offers a lot within a 30min drive, waterfalls, trails, and a casino. We'll probably use a room at the casino as base of operations if we go back. The food was better and it has better amenities. Oh, it's pet friendly too. Finally put us in a different room. Didn’t bother to tell is about the complimentary breakfast or karaoke going on that night and the next morning but we heard about it from another guest. Hot tub was out of order (the main thing we were looking forward to) so you think they’d throw a little heat in their pool??? No…ice cold. Just over all a really bad experience. The booking process was a nightmare. I tried multiple times on the website and it kept saying the credit card is invalid, although it's just a regular Visa (and worked fine when eventually I was booked). After 3 calls to the front desk, a staff member booked it directly for me. Then, she sent the confirmation by e-mail. Except I never received a confirmation. I looked in the Spam, as advised, nothing. Over the next few days I received e-mails in my inbox saying I never completed my reservation. I didn't want to assume this to be true or false, so I called the front desk. I called probably 20x. Each time I pressed "1" for the front desk I was sent to Zack in Accounting. If I pressed the number for booking a room, I was disconnected completely. Desperate to know if my stay was booked (because it was in just a few days by now), I left a message for Zach in Accounting. No call back. I found an e-mail address and sent a full description of the issue. No e-mail back. Finally after all these attempts over several days I called again, using the transfer to the front desk and I finally got someone! She confirmed my room was booked and resent the confirmation.I never received a confirmation, yet was still getting the e-mails about finishing the booking. She seemed aware of the calls transfering to Zack in Accounting and said she's the one who checks that voicemail. It was all immensely frustrating, especially since no one returned my messages. When we arrived for our stay it was ok, at best. This seems to be a basic 2 star hotel hiding behind the word "resort" due to the amenities. The hotel room was clean, which was immensely appreciated. However,we must have been staying on party weekend.A large family group above our room was loud way beyond 11pm. Every time we went outside from arrival it smelled like cigarette smoke. Just not a "resort" experience. Also, the complimentary breakfast was equivalent to a Microtel. I'm not one to complain, it's just that this is not the experience my money bought me.

To begin, run don’t walk away from this place! My two brothers and I had been here several years ago and this was when there was a full restaurant and bar on the first floor. Then it was good food and fun. Now, it was very different.
The full restaurant and bar were closed. The first floor was mostly deserted.
We ran into a worker who directed us downstairs to a small basement sports bar with a low ceiling. It as Friday, around 5:50 pm.
The place was full and when we got to the bar to order we ask d how long the wait would be. The guy said he didn’t know, even when we asked if it was 1 hour or two. He took our drink orders. I ordered a crown royal on the rocks with olives. My brother ordered the same. The guy brought us some sort of whiskey and Pepsi. A small pint of beer (domestic) was $6.00 - high price.
When we finally got a table, the previous order was never bussed - I mean, the whole time we sat there!
I ordered off the menu - a 6 piece perch dinner with fries and baked beans - cost? $21.00. All three of us ordered the same.
About 45 minutes later a harassed looking young woman brought the food. We had to ask her for silverware since none was provided.
I looked at my order and saw 5 small, dry pieces of heavily deep fried perch. A half piece of marble rye ( dry) came with it and a three ounce cup of canned baked beans.
I asked the server where my sixth piece of perch was and she said: I can ask but the cook will be mad at me. A few minutes before we left she showed up with five extra pieces - in the same condition.
We won’t be back.

4. Servers to the bar bring food down 0-10 the fuzzy slippers wasn’t the issue, her attitude to the bartender was terrible!!!!!
5. The grounds 10-10
6. Hallways, lobby, game room, ice cream shop, bar 10-10 for clean and neat!
7. Beautiful area!!

Now down to the reason we WILL not RETURN or RECOMMEND this Resort!

The room was NASTY, came in late from an afternoon of riding went to take a shower and the floor of the shower was disgusting from dirt, pubic hair, head hair and grime, I’m a dude no big deal took the showerhead started to hose it down the shower, wife comes and says ewww gross the floor is nasty, I’m not sure I wanna go barefoot in here. Takes a towel to clean the floor to only see pissing Yellow come up. To top it off
she goes to crawl into bed to find more long hairs and a giant booger in the sheets, That’s where the line was drawn, call down to the front desk, and the attendant came up and completely apologized for the housekeepers lack of attention to detail.

While we waited for the next room we really inspected the room, dead bugs around the AC/Heat, food scraps in the kitchen sink, vents clogged with dust, some real motel gross, our new room was 50% better at BEST! Oh and bring your own towels!!! Yep for real, housekeeping told us they have a shortage and had no clean towel!

This included pool towels went down to the pool ask the front desk for towels were told they were out and no clean ones were available so add clean beach towels to your list to bring.

The front staff were extremely helpful and courteous, the continuous excuse of shorthanded. No one wants to work, doesn’t fly maybe the CEO owners or somebody should step in and help housekeeping!!!!

Service was a bit slow, as it was very busy & short handed, like most food establishment these days but when bartender finally showed...she had been upstairs getting a food order, she was friendly & efficient. Started a conversation with nice couple on deck who shared some of the history. I enjoyed this hidden gem for an afternoon visit.

No dining other than bar food. Swimming pool needs maintenance. Golf course is pretty shaggy. Shower drains slowly. Front desk not available for check out. We won't return.

A value resort and amenities in a peaceful setting. This place has so much potential and is getting close to capitalizing on it. I would recommend it, but I think they are going to get even better over time.

This review is just for the food! It's edible however not what you would expect for a place like this. Had prime rib , it was small and not very flavorful the ajus sauce was to salty. Yes is was expensive I've never has to order food after my meal before. You guys can do way better. Get a good cook it's like kids are running the show!!!

Very nice, clean room. Fantastic salt water pool and hot tub. Pleasant grounds and we saw bats at night! Concierge was great and didn't look at me funny when I couldn't figure out the shower. (My first time seeing a bathtub where you pull down on the spout to start the shower...) Looking forward to staying there again.

Rooms are tired of the 80's. No room service or house keeping yet they had an envelope for tipping. Location is great , it is in the middle of nowhere and what else are you going to do.

We came here for a weekend of golf and whitewater rafting on the Menominee river with our friends.driving up the bridge is a cool feature as we pulled up to the front desk we had cars parked all over so we went up the hill and just parked before checking in the first thing out of my wife’s mouth was this place could use a good cleaning on the outside. We make it into get checked in the girl at the front desk was obviously flustered and was projecting this to customers, but she checked us in promptly despite 3 other people being at the front desk. Made it up to our rooms our king deluxe was very nice and roomy but there were water damage stains in our bathroom and the AC unit was loud and clunky our friends rooms one being a queen and another king deluxe were not as nice and had very obvious wear. The first nice before we went to dinner in Norway, we decided we would walk around and try to get a drink at the lounge. We were told it opened at 5 but after walking around for 20 mins and getting a drink at the boundary waters they were still not open so we decided to just leave for dinner. The next day the girls all wanted to take a bath in our respective rooms two were missing a drain plug and when they contacted the front desk they were told we will look into it and never heard back the drain in our room was just laying on the outside of the tub. Otherwise the beds were fairly comfortable and I thought it was awesome they have an adult swim time for a while after 10pm and allow us to bring in drinks with us. The next day I went out to my truck to drop stuff off before we checked out and went to breakfast and played a round of golf. I came back to a bill not under but taped to my door with my name on it saying we had to settle at the front desk as did our friends to which we found out their computer system went down and they hadn’t had our reservation in the system. Our friend had supposedly booked for 150 per night our bill was nearly double that that per night which it is what it is as they gave us free breakfast. Which apparently was supposed to be 12.95 per person for your standard fare. Obviously overpriced for what it is. Then went to play golf honestly the course was very well maintained and was fun to play I am a fairly decent golfer at a 6 handicap and the course had its challenges as well as some tricky greens. At 82 bucks for 2 for 9 I honestly didn’t think it was the greatest value but was definitely a fun way to end we had lunch at the boundary waters which was very good and headed on our way home. Overall very overpriced to stay and play in my opinion for what you are getting for accommodations but we went elsewhere for lunches and dinners which were very cheap in comparison to Milwaukee and Chicago prices.

This is the worst experience I’ve ever imagined. Unless of course you like the shining. Still, that hotel was much nicer. This is not the four seasons. Shame on me for associating the two. This is a c class hotel masking itself as a nice resort.

We stopped in this past Sunday. We waited patiently at the bar for drinks for our group. We also had anticipated eating here. It appeared that it had recently been pretty busy so we were giving the bartender a chance to catch up. After waiting for 20 minutes while we watched the bartender clean up tables, sort dishes, wash counters, and do everything but wait on us, we started to get frustrated. It was obvious he was purposely finding other things to do. Nobody was waiting for the tables he was cleaning off. I don't understand the thought process here, other than he just wanted us to leave. Which eventually is what all 10 of us did. Since we just purchased a cabin down the road, it was a fairly impressionable experience for the business. I'm not sure we will be back to visit.
