Golf club Banquet hall Hotel Lounge RestaurantDescription
The acclaimed 18-hole bent grass course is a blend of traditional Scottish links and scenic Midwestern courses, making Foxfire Golf Club the obvious choice for a challenging round of golf.
Foxfire offers superb par 3's and two brute par 4's one to start your round and one to end your round. The signature hole, #9, is a 554-yard par 5. On this challenging beauty, water borders the fairway on both sides before separating the ever-narrowing fairway from the green. Second shot placement and keeping it straight are critical. This challenging and beautiful course offers something for every golfer to enjoy.

To start, I'm going to leave my honest review on what I thought about Fox Fire/Par 4 Resort. See below my detailed review. The coarse was better than I thought it was going to be and all in all we had a good time and will go again, but it would be one of those courses that I'll golf only if there isn't anything else available and or has a great deal.
1) Tee boxes ehhh ok, were pretty rough and didn't have repair sand in the boxes. Par 3's were pretty difficult to find a good lie within the markers.
2) Fairways good, somewhat challenging and fun with different looks and a nice layout.
3) Greens good, not terribly difficult and we're in better shape than most.
4) Bunkers were excellent! (Not something I normally like to boast about) Sand was soft and very playable.
5) Price for the coarse was a little high, but it if you watch on apps you can normally find a deal.
6) Carts are older and arent in the best of shape. They were pretty chuggy, but got you to where you needed to go. They didn't have any repair sand containers on them to fix divots.
7) Cart girl was nice. Unfortunately there was only 1 out and didn't make it around much.
8) The bar had darn good food and the bartender was superb.
9) Everyone who encountered was super nice and accommodating. But, the crew seemed to be short staffed, scattered, and trying their best to be organized. They didn't have a bartender when the entire bar was full of people there for an outing. Bartender arrived to work and walked into a bad situation blindsided. Unfortunately, I think that the management may have some problems and the cause of this.
10) Overall appeal and conditions of the Resort wasn't bad and was nice. It seemed like a great place for a party/outing, wedding, and or bachelor/bachelorette party. Conditions of the surrounding buildings are showing some aging and could use a refresher.

A course I've played numerous times, but Friday's experience was the worst and last. Pace of play was extremely slow and the ranger made no effort to encourage the culpible group (3 open holes ahead of them) from either skipping a hole or two or three, or picking up pace. He was extremely rude to our group (2 threesomes) when we played on one of the par 3's all together, despite the fact there were 4 groups on the box when we were teeing off. Waiting over 30 minutes to take the next shot and over 5 hours for an 18 hole round is unacceptable.

Worst golfing experience I have ever had at a course.
It was a holiday weekend, 11:30am tee time. We had a group of 6, 4 golfers and 2 riders for a total of three carts. We paid the proper price for everyone ($20 bucks per rider). First two holes were fine and then we dumped the two riders at the club house to grab drinks (because the bev cart just sped past us) so we could keep pace of play on the 3rd hole. As the riders were walking back to the carts, the course marshal stopped and yelled at them as it's 'dangerous to be walking on the course'...weird since it's a golf course and people walk on it all the time.
From there the marshal kept circling us and watched us like a hawk on hole 4 and 5, so much so we had to ask him to move to get out of the way of our shot and line of sight to the hole. For one shot he parked literally 20 feet away from our ball and stared us down as we shot.
Carry on to the 5th hole. Golfers in our group teed off and we were waiting for the group in front of us on the green so we had the two riders (who are new to golfing) take a tee shot to waste time and practice. The marshal swooped in so fast pointing and yelling at us that he 'checked at the golf shop and we did not pay for 6 golfers, only 4 and that the two 'ladies' are not to pick up a single club again otherwise we would be tossed from the course'. For the next four holes he continued to circle us and watching us from afar.
The power tripping marshal ruined the whole outing for us. We were keeping pace of play, trying to have a good time, not causing any trouble and trying to expand the game to new golfers at no expense to anyone.
Will NEVER golf here again.

I have been coming to Fox Fire at Par 4 Resort for quite some time, I have always had a good experience when there, I have to say with the new owner that has taken over a few months ago it has been changing for better and I really didn't think that was possible. All of the little changes he has made so far are to make the experience even better. I love the fact that there is a small putting green and a chipping green close by. It is not an easy course by far but an absolutely beautiful one!

My family has been repeat customers of foxfire gc since we moved to Waupaca in 2013. Weβve chosen foxfire numerous times for the convenience and usually well kept nature of the course. Now, I can say for certain that we wonβt be returning, and will be telling our friends and golf colleagues in the area to go play at better courses like Glacier Wood or Waupaca Country Club. My father was out practicing his short game on the chipping green and practice area when he was approached by who we assume is the owner. He reprimanded my dad for practicing without a tee time and also accused my dad (who is a golfer of 40+ years) of hitting shots off the green surface. They told him to leave and also had someone following him around the property as he was looking for Jeanie or another member of the golf staff to talk to. Iβve been out to the course numerous times just to chip and putt around if I had some time to kill, Iβve never found this once to be their policy, and your newly retired GM says their is no policy regarding this either. As a PGA professional, I canβt imagine approaching a situation like this with a player or guest at my facility. Shame on you Foxfire. Remember that you are in Rural Wisconsin and exist because of a tight knit golf community. There are several other options in the area, maybe itβs time the community takes their golf game elsewhere. Do better.

Used to be one of my favorite golfing locales in central Wisconsin. Hadn't golfed there in some time, and the whole vibe just seemed off. The course is lined with residential development, which I've never been a huge fan of. Some of the members seem to be just downright rude. Luckily the staff is great, and the course is usually in great shape!

We went for lunch at the Bistro. It was very good, no complaints. Food was good, I had the blackened catfish with fried green tomatoes, super yummy. Husband had the red beans and rice, also super yummy. We also had the prime rib bruschetta, also amazing.
The service was excellent and so was the atmosphere. It was also clean and inviting.

Pro shop staff very nice and informative. Very nice course, interesting layout. Tee boxes a little beat up, but the rest in very good condition. Lots of water and bunkers. Challenging (I'm a 20 Handicap), but not overly so. No par 5βs on the back 9, but #1 and #18 are really long par 4βs. I'm sure it would be difficult for beginner golfers.
Poor beverage cart service, didnβt see her until hole 12, and that was the only time.
Poor food service after the round, weβre thinking the server was new. We had 6 people; one of us didnβt get his food; they forgot/messed up. But the food we did get was really good.

Played this course for the first time this past weekend and it was fantastic fairways and greens in pristine condition a lot of divots in gairways but canβt really blame the course for that people are lazy very challenging course with a lot of risk and reward opportunities one of the best parts was the flat tee boxes for the average golfer a tee box being flat is essential we saw the cart girl atleast 5-6 times through the round which exceeded expectations only thing that couldβve made the round better was if they had food at the turn we will definitely play again soon

Foxfire Golf Club at Par4 Resort is an absolute gem! From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the pristine condition of the course and the beautiful layout that offers a perfect balance of challenge and playability. Every hole is meticulously maintained, and the greens are some of the best I've played onβsmooth, fast, and true. The attention to detail throughout the course is incredible, making for a truly enjoyable experience from start to finish.
The staff at Foxfire Golf Club are equally fantastic. From the pro shop to the course marshals, everyone is friendly, welcoming, and eager to make sure your day is perfect. They go above and beyond to ensure you're well taken care of, which only adds to the overall wonderful atmosphere of the resort. If you're looking for a top-tier golf experience with exceptional service, look no further than Foxfire Golf Club. Can't wait to come back! Five stars all the way!

We played this course two days on a weekend in mid-July. The course was in good shape. The fairways showed some signs of a lot of rounds having been played there. There were a lot of ball marks that hadn't been repaired. The greens were in good shape and well-maintained, as were the bunkers. They've been letting the heather grow lately, which makes the course more challenging. It's a fun track to play at a fair price!

This is my home course and it is one of the hardest courses in the area. May be one of the hardest I've ever played. Golf pro and staff are excellent, friendly, and attentive. Their only failing is the lack of adequate practice facilities and the difficulty of several of the holes, 1, 9, 12, and 18 are virtually un-parrable for an average golfer.

We have attempted to dine at the establishment twice in the past year. Both times have ended in disappointment. Both visits have been the same,we order our food and then it's like they completely forgot we are there. Tonight we ordered our meals which were supposed to come with soup and salad. After we sat 30 minutes and watched people that had arrived and order after us get there meals we decided to leave. I always take into consideration of how busy the place is, the amount of staff on so on before I make any assumptions. But when the staff out numbers the guest it's not hard to do. Lack of organization is not a good trait for a restaurant to have.

Iβve always liked the course itself, but now theyβve jacked the prices way up. compared to other courses similar to them. They are by far the most expensive course in the area and they have no driving range unless you call the net they put up by the first Teebox a driving range. thereβs absolutely no customer service. When you get your cart they give you a key but you have to leave your drivers license and then when youβre done, you have to hand-deliver the key back to them and you have to go out and search for a specific cart in the group. I went first thing in the morning and the cart and the seat everything was soaking wet, moral of the story way over priced and terrible customer service!! I would suggest going to Glacier Wood Golf Club in Iola or the Wis. River golf club in Stevens Point.

This used to be our favorite course to play. Then they let the grass grow long on every single mound on every single hole. Leads to slow play and lots of lost balls even if you have a good drive that is just off the fairway a little. We are playing other courses now because of this poor course management decision. Bring back the mowed mounds, please.

On vacation in the area, played sentry world the day before. Sent my boys down to play golf for his 20th birthday. 5 well behaved, experienced golfers, they were treated like delinquents and harassed by the manager. Last year they had some sort of outing there for the greenskeepers in the area or management in the area for other golf courses, so the pins will put on the highest peak of every green extremely challenging, lots of fun

Horrible odor throughout hotel from pool surface being recoated. Blatant disregard for safety and comfort of hotel staff by management. I had some odor in my room , but at least I could open my window. I would have left after checking in (and should have) but it was late and I was tired from 5 hrs of driving in the rain. If the hotel canβt properly vent the pool area for a new epoxy coating, it suggests to me they canβt properly vent the pool ever.

We have had pleasant experiences dining here before, however our last visit left a bad taste. Our waitress was not personable, eye rolls included, and not very attentive in checking in with us. If the place was busy we could understand but it wasn't. Added to that the food was not very good, tasted like extra vinegar was added or something?? When were leaving we noticed several tables had left larger portions behind, so I don't think it was just us. It will be a while before we go back. Hopefully next time we'll have a better overall experience.

The pool area is very clean, has adequate space and several tables and chairs for your belongings. The guest service members are very friendly and helpful. I would suggest calling the hotel's front desk before trying to use their pool/hot tub. There may be an event going on that may influence their decision to let you swim that day or weekend.

Attended my nephews wedding. Unfortunately it rained, so ceremony needed to be moved indoors. Not enough room for everyone to sit, quite a number of guests had to stand along the walls from front of room to back, both sides. Then after the ceremony everyone needed to go to the bar. Bar was under staffed and not stocked properly. One bartender actually yelled that every one needed to be patient, they will get to everyone as soon as they could. You knew that a wedding was taking place at your venue, why would you not have your bar stocked and more than a couple of bartenders. Then came the dinner. We sat with salads in front us, no dressings on the tables for almost a half hour. The dinner itself was ham, roast chicken, mashed potatoes, and mixed veggies. Chicken had blood and no gravy for the potatoes. Taco Bell down the road has better food than what was served.
A number of years ago my niece had her reception here and it was much better. Very disappointed this time.

My wife and I hosted our traditional Indian wedding at the Par 4 Resort. We were absolutely blown away by the service provided by Kesha, Russ and the rest of the staff throughout the weekend. They went above and beyond working with our vendors to ensure we had the best weekend of our lives. I also got to sneak in a round of gold over the weekend, beautiful course with challenging holes. I would highly recommend using the facilities at Par 4 Resort for your next event!

My review is just about the golf course. First off, there is no driving range, which I didn't find out until I asked where it was in the pro shop. I had showed up half an hour early thinking I could hit some warmup shots. Oh well. I really enjoyed the design of the course, but the condition needs improvement. Lots of brown, but we've been in a drought, so that's understandable. There were a lot of areas that were pretty chewed up or had thinning grass. Two out of three ball washers I tried using didn't have any liquid in them (not a deal breaker obviously, but still annoying). The bunkers were terrible (hard sand, liner popping out in some of them). The maintenance guys were out and about and didn't seem to care that there were golfers around. I get they are doing a job, but they could at least acknowledge the golfers and give me some space to hit my shot.

This course hardly makes bogey to Waupacaβs country club. The day I played the greens were being aerated, so the ball would jump rather then roll through putting. Employees working throughout the course had my party waiting for them to finish with their work prior to playing most holes. Hole 13 is where we finally walked off. The pin was not marked out, rather, it sat neatly along side hole thirteen on the ground. I did make a complaint, but the manager never even responded, hence my reason for the review. Not worth the money for central Wisconsin golf.
