We were vsiting from Utah and decided to stop in. Inside it feels really comfortable. The onion soup was amazing. The Little John was amazing. The cheeseburger was amazing. When the server asked how I would like my burger done we knew the kitchen knew their stuff. Our server was great. I loved that the food was so good and affordable.
Quick tip: Remember your sunglasses for when you leave. It's very dimly lit so when you go back into the daylight you may need time to adjust before you can drive.

It reminds me of a supper club, darker inside, the large bar is nice for patrons and they even have some gambling machines. The place isn't too large. Several booths and the rest tables. They chairs are super low to the ground though. Luckily, we were able to get the largest table they had in a corner. Pretty standard food, great pricing. Family of 5 with appetizers and add on's only $100 prior to the tip. Our waitress was fantastic and had been there for many many years. She made the experience. Was on top of things and drink refills etc.
Combo platter was good, standard frozen to fried food. Decent size and taste was good. Mozzarella sticks were crunchy but again just a frozen to fried appetizer. We really liked the friend cauliflower. Kids meals good portions, my son loved the mini corn dogs and my daughter the chicken tenders. Was nice the tenders weren't fatty. Nothing special about the meals but they liked them. My daughters burger was HUGE and cooked to perfection. She enjoyed it and said the flavor was good, she asked for lettuce and the had a pile of shredded lettuce on the side some was brown, so she had to pick out the good pieces to add to her burger. The homemade bun was really good she said The French onion soup was good but a little greasy than others we've had before, however, it was hot and it tasted great. Loved all the cheese topping :) For the price, it was just perfect! Many places charge a lot more, so this one ranks higher for us. The homemade bread with the soup was another plus.
Prime rib sandwich was good, a little fatty but good for the price. The crispy chicken salad was just okay. They must use a pre-bagged mix, nothing special about the salad, taste was fine and the ranch dressing was good, could have used some more crispy chicken. There were some bad pieces from the salad I just set aside. The garlic toast that was served with the salad was excellent, I could have eaten an entire plate of those. Overall, it was a good experience. Wish more of the food was made in house. I know prices are out of this world right now and that would most definitely raise costs on the menu, but just wished for more of an elevated food experience.

My salad was good. Not many gf options which I knew going in....wanted a bloody but I think the waitress was either uninterested or too busy to check the mix to see what it was/if it was gf. This was my first time visiting in 38 years. They discontinued the toga & robe uniforms just last August 2024, and replaced them with maroon polo tops. I suppose that's a sign of the times. The restaurant exterior and interior are exactly as remembered, with 2 small stained glass windows providing all of the natural light inside. It's a neat place, uniquely original. The wait staff was friendly and the food was deliciously filling.

The first couple times I was there, loved the place. But after witnessing how employees are treated by their own was so disrespectful and degrading. Tonight I seen a blonde hair employee disrespect a coworker Infront of all us customers. Place looks mid evil and they treat their coworkers the same. Service was good not very fast though. Our waitress seemed to be doing a lot of the work. Wheelchair users may have a somewhat difficult time getting in. There's an inch and a half step on the front door. But plenty of tables offer wheelchairs and plenty of space to move around. But bathrooms are not wheelchair friendly due to the turn to get in. Glad the Christmas lights made it more light to see.

Classic Wisconsin bar and restaurant! The bar is as big as the restaurant. The food was good with generous portions for a very fair price. We went to Friar Tucks in Fond du Lac to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We told the first waitress that there would be 7 of us so she got a couple of tables together and set for 7 people. Our whole party wasn’t there yet. Meanwhile another party of 7 came in and she had to give them the table. Which made sense. Fast forward, the rest of our party showed up- we had to wait afew minutes till we could be seated. No problem. Then the same waitress came and got us. Said she was going to set us at the round table in the naughty corner ( it was like she knew us personally) and that Elli would be our waitress. We could not ask for a better waitress. Elli was young, spunky, funny, super efficient and fit right in with our party. She went above and beyond for us. Thank You,Elli for helping to make our party special.. When she handed the bill to our oldest son, who put this party together, Thank You, Randy. Elli told us our bar tab was already paid for. We have no idea who paid it but if you’re reading this review Thank You Very Much. We will Pay It Forward! Our food was excellent , served in a timely manner,. Had lunch here and it was my first time trying this restaurant. The place was packed, but service was very good. Stopped in for a bite to eat with my family. We had never been to a Friar Tuck's before, and were pleasantly surprised. I had the Daily Special, Bratwurst with a cup of soup. I had the French Onion. Our food was as expected, very good! Our server put our experience 'over the top'. Ellie was attentive and really made us feel like she wanted to wait on us and not just working to get through it. Called in a “to-go” order and arrived 5 min after I was told to pick it up.
Stood by the bar for 5-7 min before I was even acknowledged by anyone. After I said I was picking up an order, the young lady rang up my order, swiped my card and I signed for it. She then proceeded to go back and continue to count her register. A minute later, a couple walks in, she acknowledges them and seats them at a table. She never went and got my food because counting her register was far more important so another 5 min of waiting before another waitress asked if I was waiting for my order yet. I said yes, she went in the back and grabbed it thank god or who knows how long I would have been standing there.
The rudest thing a restaurant can do is blatantly ignore a customer who frequents their establishment quite often especially after she watched me walk in, knew I was standing there, and continued to do something else. There’s no excuse for that.

Extremely disappointed, fries were soggy and cold. 12 min standing there to pick up a to go order when there was literally no one to be seated or waiting to be seated while my food sat there and got cold so someone could count their till was beyond ridiculous, terrible service.

New to Wisconsin and for all i know its a law to add a bar to every restaurant. so i could be wrong about some of this. But holy cow the french onion soup was amazing. Sigh...we used to love friars, but lately, they keep messing up our to go orders! I ordered a pot roast sandwich on onion cheddar roll with pepper jack cheese. I received a roast beef sandwich with provolone on French bread. My husband ordered a cheeseburger with pepper jack, they put American on it. We eat here probably once a month, and 3 out of 5 times, our to go orders are wrong. We never have a problem when we dine in! I really think they need a better system for this, it's obviously a continuous issue. We won't be ordering to go food again.

Went to Friar Tucks for our New Years dinner our I think her name was Anna she was prompt,courteous, polite.
Got every order right, It was double bubble night tonight didn't have one drink finished she had a second one at the table that never happens usually have to ask for the second one.
