I have been coming to Friar Tucks for 30+ years. This was my first time at their Manitowoc location. Food was excellent as always. French onion soup is a family favorite as well as the reuben. I think this was the best reuben yet. Portion sizes are big. We all still had half a sandwich left to take home. Service was fast and friendly. Would eat here all the time if we lived closer. Can't wait to come back.

Absolute lack of customer service. 10 minutes sitting at the bar, no acknowledgement or service, seated, 20 minutes later no waitress, no hello, no water or service, not even a hello. So we left. Time has passed these old places bye, Friars Tucks has no good bartenders or servers, building is old and rundown. They have their old regulars they take care of, other than that you don't exist or are invisible. Used to be good, Used to be, Pass it bye everytime. Just another ols, outdated, run down place, running on past laurels and reputation.

Came in for lunch today with my family in between our softball tournaments. Sat right away. Food came out fairly quick. The French onion soup was DELICIOUS. Caesar salad was so good. My mother liked her bacon cheese burger. Wish we had a Friar Tucks closer to us!

Atmospheric, but also low key and unassuming. Friendly and attentive staff. Food was as top quality as you can get for the price. I ordered the 6 oz. Tenderloin sandwich. I ordered it rare, hoping it would be at least medium. It was grilled BEAUTIFULLY! Totally rare. So good! Wife ordered Patty Melt and onion rings. Two thumbs up. Kid got the Kid's Cheeseburger. He inhaled it, so it must have been good. Friar Tuck's would be worth going out of your way for, and if you find yourself in Manitowoc, you would be missing out if you pass.

We recently visited Friar Tucks with a party of 20 while in town for a very special, albeit bittersweet occasion—the celebration of our grandfather’s life. This restaurant held a special place in his heart, as he met friends here every week. After his passing, gathering here felt like a way to honor him, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary.

The staff went above and beyond to take care of us. Despite the late hour and the large group, they accommodated us with such grace and understanding, making sure we were comfortable and well-served the entire time. Their kindness and attentiveness made us feel genuinely welcomed, and it meant so much to us during this emotional time.

And the food—absolutely exceptional. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and served with care. The whole experience was incredibly memorable, not just for the quality of the food but for the warmth and empathy shown by everyone working that night.

A huge thank you to the team here! You helped make an important family gathering so special, and we’re grateful for everything you did to take care of us. We look forward to returning in honor of him and creating even more cherished memories here.

Great! Comfortable feel, followed by great customer service and really good food. Hello, Linda was a breath of fresh air and got us everything even before we needed it. Huge portion sizes for the money and just loved every bit of my huge bacon cheeseburger and the clam chowder. I just love burgers that you can actually have medium rare and aren't so thin that no matter how you cook it, it's overdone. My wife loved her onion soup and two for one beers = one awesome dinner experience.

First time I had gone I gave it a 1 star,it was that bad but now ,not bad
Still noisy , especially a couple of staff members that talk very loud .but food was better .bland but at least it was cooked and now you can see the food.before it was very dark in there.price wasn't too bad . We got cheese nuggets , onion rings, potato wedges, a bacon cheeseburger, and a smokehouse burger. The smokehouse burger is supposed to come with barbecue sauce to make it smokehouse burger, and it had no barbecue sauce, only ketchup, and mustard. The cheese nuggets could’ve been cooked a little less and the wedges could’ve been cooked a little longer. The onion rings were good and the burgers were cooked to order. Just disappointed in the fact that the smokehouse burger was not made properly as the whole point of the burger was the barbecue sauce.

I like hitting up random places to find good bar burgers and this place didn't disappoint. I can't remember it's name but my burger had provolone, cheddar and ham cooked just right (medium). We had a bowl of chili with it also. Only downside of the chili was it was as hot temp wise as I would like. The staff was awesome and chatty and kept my son entered. I would go back.

We moved to Manitowoc last October. We don’t order out very often. Our new neighbor told us to give Friar Tuck’s a try. I had the best cheeseburger I’ve had in years! Everything was delicious. We ordered three meals and all three were done exactly as we ordered. Even the sauces were correct! That’s a rarity. The staff were very friendly as well. We’ll be ordering again for sure. They have amazing burgars . And cauliflower cheese soup that will make you wanna eat a gallon of it. Very thick and cheesy ,With a knot roll they have a new cook in training so she forgot my grilled onion on my frisco but the burgar was so good i litterally forgot till my last bite that it was supposed to have onion. Id go back mondays just for the soup. (I had to polish my silverware cause it had cloudy soap residue.) Ask for brittany to be your server 7 years of knowing whats going on .
