My husband and I stopped in last night ( aug 23rd 2025) around 5:30ish , the hostess came, didnt ask how many, i asked for a booth,all she said was follow me, she sat us down, did NOT smile nor look at us, NOTHING and walked away!!! Waistress came, i asked for a rum and Diet, hubby asked for a lemon water, she came back with mine and all hubby got was water!! i told our waitress, n came came back with a half lemon on a napkin!!!! VERY UNSANITARY!!!! NO straw!! his Burger was NOT done the way he requested, waitress response, " yeah we have been having prob's with that". I think she could have offered to adjust the bill. This was NOT a nice visit!!!!!!!!

This place was always our go to. Old fashions were the best, reasonably priced and good service. Just left and it will be awhile before we return. Our old fashions arrived at the same time as our appetizers and we were told our food was up as well, (she offered to hold our meals until we were ready). We opted to get our food while it was hot. Most of my turkey sandwich didn't even make it on the bun. The old fashions were not great either. All in all, I can no longer recommend this place, which makes me sad.

Service was extremely terrible. I'm ok with the having to wait for a table, what I'm not ok with is the 20 minutes of being ignored once we got our table & the 30 times the wait staff walked past us saying nothing. We were going to just just up & leave but my husband decided to go to the bar and was were told 'oh well together we will figure it out ' finally the waitress came over took our order. Food wasn't horrible but their wraps are pre-made so unable to have anything taken off. So unfortunately limited items able to actually consume. We got a sampler platter & had hair in the sour cream! Gross!! Waitress came back when we were done eating to bring our bill. Never checked how our food was. We will have a very hard time going back again. They used to be excellent, clearly Service is not a priority!

I had prime rib sandwiches numerous times over the years at Friars. I worked at a meat market for 18 1/2 years and know the difference between a rib I and prime rib. I had the WORST prime rib sandwich ever, they served me a rib I and they claimed this is what they call prime rib! Oh no, false advertisement and horrible substitute for what was supposed to be prime rib. NEVER again!!!!

My debit card was given to pay for my meal and someone else's card was returned to me. I got my card back but I was charged for my table and another tables meal(a stranger). I was assured it would be refunded however after many days it wasn't. I went there and was given a very hard time had to show my bank statement and was told it had to go to corporate. I had to go back again two days later to get my money refunded. Terrible customer service, no apology nothing. I understand it was busy and mistakes happen but the fact that I had to fight so hard and go back multiple times to get my money back that they accidentally charged me was ridiculous. I used to love this place but after this experience I will never return.

If i could give this place zero stars I would. Food is not good. Service is even worse. The waitress we had was EXTREMELY rude. she lied and said they did not have chocolate milk when i later found out they did have from the manager. She put a very hot
soup directly in front of my baby who immediately stuck his hands in it and got burnt. Then she yelled at my toddler for taking crayons out of the cup “loudly” when you couldn’t hear yourself breath in there it was so loud as it is. She never apologized and she was horrible we had to ask for someone else. That’s when the manager took over our table and she never apologized either, while she was nice and served us better they still never discounted our meals or showed any sort of remorse for that crazy behavior. The waitress we had originally had was older with short hair and glasses that she wears low on her nose. Avoid her at all cost.

Haven't been here in years, and it was on the way, so we stopped for lunch. We got the cheese nuggets before our meal. The crispy coating with cheddar cheese inside was delicious!

I had the Friars club on a croissant. I choose hot. The turkey and ham were generously stacked with bacon and Swiss as well. Mayo on the side. The croissant was not hot but the filling was. Very good and filling. I took half home. Hubby had the bacon cheeseburger. 1/2 pound burger cooked to your liking, and he enjoyed it and almost couldn't finish.

We’ve eaten twice so far during this visit to Oshkosh and are likely to come back a few more times before leaving town!!

This restaurant is very convenient for people visiting the Oshkosh air show. A free shuttle service stops at the back gate so it’s convenient for lunch, dinner or drinks.

Our first visit, we ordered the Little John sandwich. This time, it was the French Onion Soup (not recommended), the Prime Rib Sandwich (excellent), and the roast beef sandwich. We particularly like it for lunch because the prices are very reasonable compared to the concessions at the show and the food is really good.

The only thing is that my companion ordered the Smokehouse Burger medium rare today but it arrived VERY rare!!

She added salt, I believe to a drink with her hands after having just done this. She did not wash nor sanitize her hands. She then did it again so we decided to walk out. My husband and I came here tonight around 7:35 PM. We were sat and given menus. Went to this establishment around 3 PM on a Saturday. Came up for the Packer game the next day. The place was close to the hotel so we figured we’d give it a shot. The places was very slow, but somehow the waitress managed to not get our food order in the 15 minutes we were there. Finally I asked after about the 9th time she walked passed if she could take our order. She said she took care of regulars first. We immediately finished our drinks and walked out. Never have we been so disrespected in the food service industry. Hopefully they treat other non locals better than us because they’ve lost our business for good.

Service has been getting slower and slower. Most times when you order the special it's semi cold. Alway was a good place to go but tonight it was slow in there and still took 15 mins. I took my mom to dinner tonight and about 1/4 through drinking my soda I noticed a long hair on the inside of the glass. I showed the waitress and she didn't apologize or say anything she just grabbed it and walked away. She set a new one down and still didn't say anything and went to the next table. I asked for a PLAIN sandwich and it came out loaded with toppings. I asked for the chicken wing app and got boneless. She never refilled my mom's drink until after we were done eating. Stopped while heading home from up north. Very cozy and dark interior but with enough light to see well. We ordered sandwiches and drinks which came quickly. What a GREAT find!!!! This place was close to my hotel on a work trip. The atmosphere was VERY reminiscent of a 1970s type place you'd go with your parents as a kid. It was very clean, and the service was IMPECCABLE! I was recommended the French Onion Soup and the Ruben Sandwich. Definitely a GREAT choice!!!! For someone that travels a lot for work and eats "junk" a lot....it was nice to sit down and enjoy a dinner with 70s childhood vibes!

We eat at the bar. First mistake. Bartender wasted out of her mind. Second bartender complained about men so she was no help. Waitress and leftists sitting next to us voiced their opinions with no regards for other people. Coming here for at least 30 years. Not the same anymore. Without Lisa or Dan bartending it just sucks. Also the cook came out to join the bashing of anyone who had a different opinion of theirs. Even after waiting for our bill our to go carrot cake never came. We did pay for it but never got it.
