Absolutely one of the best Mushroom Swiss burgers I've had in a long time! Perfect size, fully cooked. Not too dinky or so big you leave too full. I had thought to get a second it was so good and the chef even read my mind and asked if I wanted another lol!

I was surprised that this was a Mexican restaurant. I had searched for "steak" and there were a few items that steak was an option, but only 1 actual steak item, carne asada.

They need a new cook in there ASAP. And to not cheap out on ingredients. Ordered a steak medium rare, brought it out extra rare and asked if it needed more cook. First a cook should know the difference. They brought it back out; cut in half through the middle this time to expedite the cooking process even though we were one of 2 tables, half was still rare, the other half was medium well. Got a club sandwich with cheap bread you get at the dollar store, 99% lettuce that didn’t taste washed, uncooked bacon and some thick ultra-processed slice of turkey that reminded me of lunchables turkey circles.

So I read a lot of the reviews of this place and I can say that we won’t be going back, I have been to a lot of different restaurants over the years what I can say is that the food was excellent but the service and the atmosphere were lacking greatly everything there felt very unorganized and chaotic. It was hotter than heck They were out of many different things and our waiter was unfriendly and inexperienced, A lot of people have left positive reviews and I think that it’s possible the restaurant was better when they went, but the standards have dropped dramatically in my opinion. If you can’t properly run a restaurant don’t run one at all.

The restaurant was totally empty yet we had to wait at least 35 minutes to get our food. When we asked how much longer it would be she rudely replied ITS ON THE WAY. It wasn’t. The waitress was on the phone the entire time we were there. She never asked how was the food, would you like anything else, etc. My friend had breaded and overcooked liver and onions and I had a patty melt that was dripping with butter and loaded with onions. The patty melt was suppose to come with soup which they didn’t have. They replaced it with a salad of a dozen pieces of lettuce and two cucumber slices. We would never recommend this restaurant nor will we ever go back! It deserves less than one star.

I ordered the carne azada. The steak was a thin skirt steak seasoned well and came with onions and bell peppers. The menu said it came with jalapeños as well. I was disappointed that there were none. It also came with refried beans, rice and flour tortillas all made fresh. Tasty but the portions were a little light. My wife had the avocado omelette which was huge and amazingly good. Their hot sauce was very spicy and awesome. Obviously homemade. I would happily return to try more options from their giant menu.

The food scene of Appleton never ceases to impress me, and Garden View is no different in this respect. Walking in, you would think it is merely a stereotypical breakfast diner, but it is much more than that. The personability of the owner and staff, along with the quality of the food, set this place apart. We ordered two of the enchiladas options, and I have to say, they were some of the best we’ve had. We were also offered salsa made from fresh garden tomatillos. Very pleased, and will keep Garden View in mind next time we visit Appleton.

It's absolutely frustrating. I was there 40 minutes ago. I ordered a plate with beef. I requested it will be well cooked. They didn't and served my order with a beef looking very pink and red inside, and with a bad taste. I didn't like the flavor. I requested the owner please respond for my order, but they just ignored my concern and didn't respond for what I paid. I couldn't eat my meal and it was absolutely a horrible experience. My expectations were not the best ones in this restaurant. They almost kicked me out from this restaurant as well, so I don't recommend this place, pleaseavoidto go to this restaurant. They should care for their food, costumer service, their costumers' satisfaction and what a costumer pays for. I'm sorry, but It's just very disappointing!! 😔

I'm shocked the reviews here are so good. Food and service are totally fine and it's located right downtown which depending on who you are... can be great or awful. Lol
The main problem my husband and I had was the price. Even before inflation, we couldn't believe the check when we got it. Simple breakfast meals with a coffee and a chocolate milk. No extras... I think except for a side of bacon(which I remember being only 2 peices.) Our bill was over $40!! We were stunned. We couldn't fathom a simple dinner breakfast being that much money. We havnt been back since then and didn't plan on it. Not sure if anything has changed but its just crazy that this place has the same stars as little dinner or marys... for that price. Don't think so.
