I went in today around 12 with my sisters.There was two female servers.I didn't get names.The older woman who had glasses with Grey hair was a sweetheart...But the other woman was completely unprofessional n highly disrespectful. There is a lock on the restrooms the staff including the loud rude cook were huddled up by the register talking.My sister is pregnant and was waiting to use the bathroom.I politely asked if they could unlock the bathroom door...The server said loud Y'all getting on my damn nerves with this bathroom shit...So I decided maybe she having a bad day n was still going to tip.Then we proceeded to pay the bill she got slick n said is Y'all paying separately?We said yes she said rudely yall should've told the server that....My mother worked restaurant 17 years n I always tip....But today I choose not to because of her.Ik they split tips so because of her no thank you...Choose you words better next time 😉

I am a Milwaukee native. I described George Webb‘s to a friend of mine. I told him that it was like waffle House of the north. It did not disappoint. We went for breakfast and almost saw a fist fight with the weight staff.

I don’t know what the buildup to it was, but it almost came to blows. It was dinner and a show.

That being said, the breakfast was delicious as always, prepared perfectly. I’d eat there every day if they let me.

Went by at 11:15 or so after a concert at the Fiserv Forum to grab some food. Checked the website and the Open sign was on. We were able to walk in, but as soon as we did, the man working rudely said they were closed with no explanation. If that’s the case, then lock the doors and put up a sign saying as such. 4 other people that came up at the same time were also turned away. So much for being open 24 hours. . .

Do not go here! Completely disrespectful 3rd shift staff. I intended on ordering through Uber eats or Doordash from my hotel 5 minutes away, but kept getting a message that I could only order for dine in. I drove there and sat, a young female ( I can't even call her a server) walked past me several times stopping at empty tables. After a few minutes I asked if I could order. She informed me they were not serving anyone until 6am-it was 3am. So no service for 3 hours? I asked why the doors were opened, she said it was for Doordash and Uber eats. I explained that those services direct customers to come in- she then says the service gets shut off sometimes. I asked if there was a manager I could speak to, she said no, the manager (Melissa) only accepts emails but rarely replies. I still could not understand why there were 3 employees and each of them were not working at an open restaurant. They each had a snippy remark when I was asking why they weren't serving. The two male employees were just as rude when I said I see a server, a cook, and a dishwasher. I've been in Management for 20+ years and they did not like the questions I asked because I was asking them to work. I asked for their names and they told me they didn't have to give me their names. One employee asked me to leave because I had not purchased anything. I said I'm trying to order something and leave but you're refusing to take orders. Appalling disgusting service. Do not waste your time here. Go to the location on Howell. The service was wonderful and the manager on duty informed me that the owner of this location and the Howell location was the same person. I don't care where you come from, but when you work in the service industry your job is to service your customer with professionalism and respect. I also understand that in the service industry, there are times when you have to deal with difficult customers, however, you can't treat everyone like they're a bad customer just because you decide you want to take it easy at work.

Got ourselves some burgers and fries. The patty was very small. But overall good. I added cheese and grilled onions and it was a good value. The fries were unsalted but salt was available. I don't normally take the time to write a review of a fast food restaurant, but this experience was so bad that it demanded it. My wife and I stopped in around 6:30pm on a Tuesday to use our Milwaukee Brewers 12 game winning streak, free burger coupons (Go Brewers!). Four other people total in the restaurant, all seated together at the counter. We placed our to-go order at the register and tipped the server. After an astounding 25 min. our two burgers were ready! I could tell they were cold through the wrapper. The buns were untoasted and cool. The patty on the other hand was burnt to a crisp with a very unappealing crunchiness. This ranks right up there with one of the absolute worst burgers I've ever had, with terrible service as well...Need I say more?

It was terrible. We had vouchers for our Brewers Burgers, so, we wanted to redeem them before Friday, which was the cutoff date. We went to the George Webb on MLK Jr. Drive in downtown Milwaukee. It was off peak time. The place was nearly empty. I repeated our burger order to the hostess multiple times. This was for take out. The hostess was inattentive to the orders. It took 45 minutes to get the order. The burgers and fries were cold. We got them home and opened them up to find out that the burgers were wrong. And the cheese I paid extra for was missing. So, the burgers and fries went into the oven just so we could eat them. McDonalds would have been better. At least the food would have made it into our hands hot. Never stepping foot in another George Webb again.

We arrived around 1 a.m. as a group of four and ordered takeout. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The food was quite bad, and the service was also very poor. My soda was served completely filled with ice, had a strange taste, and was unpleasant to drink.

Part of our order was missing, including onion rings and a soup. When the soup finally came, it tasted bad, and the fries had no salt or flavor at all. When we asked for the missing items, the staff responded with a very bad attitude and made us feel unwelcome.

Overall, the food quality was poor, and the service was extremely unprofessional. This was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had, and I strongly believe this should be addressed by management.

I have tried to go here 3 times after 10pm last year after moving here from Oklahoma. I really wanted to try George Webb! A VERY grumpy lady yells “take out only” at me and my friend every time. Sometimes barely looking from her phone and sitting by the door. I was hoping to celebrate the Brewers and was looking up George Webb near me to see if maybe there was another option and stumbled on these other horrific reviews after the sun goes down. I would avoid this location like the plague at night, from my own experience. I am going to try it again during the day with my daughter and 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻, it’s not the same kinda grumpy employees. I never leave less than 5 stars on reviews that are up to one person working because that is obviously not the fault of the entire restaurant. I worked in the service industry and understand some shifts are just out of your control. I decided to write this after reading other similar incidents only so maybe this could be improved because I would REALLY like to go here on a more regular basis and have this as a late night option. It has such a cool spot vibe. The old diner has always been a draw to me and It’s in an excellent location close to my condo.

Only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the guy at the register was really cool and polite. I really wanted to give it a good review.. although I cannot because the wait time was crazy. We are traveling from east Tennessee and decided to do a little bit of nostalgic dining in ǰjour hometown. So we chose to go to good old George webbs on Old World 3rd Street. Where a lot of late-night, post-club meetups and breakfasts. When we arrived, we were NOT warmly greeted, seated ourselves, and were loudly greeted by "It's gon be 35-40 minutes!" No menus given, no drink orders taken, almost immediately, the soft voice from one of the 2 nice ladies who were already seated before us asks how long their food would take. The waitress snappily retorted, "Didn't I tell yall it was gon be a wait when you came in?" The woman said she only asked because she just heard the waitress tell us it was gonna be a wait. Their food came and was placed angrily and grumbly before the women. The waitress sulked and griped even more when she was told the pancakes were cold. At that point, we decided against being around negative energy and being prepared in that environment.

George Webb’s is price gouging they’re trying to say they have to have an egg surcharge- for an English muffin very thin sausage patty one egg one slice of cheese side hashbrowns with cheese, over $15 (when the order was delivered there were no hashbrowns included) Today we went to Chick-fil-A had a very delicious muffin with sausage, eggs and cheese, hashbrowns and a burrito with egg sausage and cheese and hashbrowns and it was only $11. About 2 years ago I went here with friends after a concert as they were the only place open and my friends liked the food. The service was so absurdly awful that you really couldn't even be mad about it, it became a funny travel story. Last night I came here for the same reason and the experience could not have been different. The young woman working there (by herself, at 9:45 PM in Milwaukee!) was fantastic. Courteous, helpful and she cooked our meal while acknowledging other customers who were waiting . Food was great for diner-style takeout and order was correct.

When it is late and limited choices for food, George Webbs is always a decent option. Came late with some friends, staff originally had door locked and refused to allow people dine in and was told only online orders were being accepted. Forcing us to stay outside in the cold (15°) to place order. After about 15 mins of multiple people having issues with website, staff allowed people in. Order had things incorrect at first but staff quickly fixed. Food was great. Would visit again when in need of food late.

As soon as I walked in, Tiffany, my waitress, greeted me with a smile and quickly took my order. The kitchen was on point too as my meal was out in less than 10 minutes. I’ve seen some reviews mentioning rude staff, but that definitely wasn’t the case for me. Everyone was super friendly, chatting with both me and the other customers. They even knew the regulars by name, which was a nice touch. George Webb's holds a special place in my heart and this visit didn't disappoint.

I was in there this morning. I work at Froedter Hosp. I ordered some hashbrowns eggs, three pieces of bacon and toast to cook, which was a black male. He gets off at 6 o’clock so he was like in a rush. He has so much butter on my toast where when I got to work, I literally had to scrape the butter off and put it in the plate, I wouldn’t check my order. I wouldn’t have my hash brown but above all things the food was OK. Always enjoy coming here, as I sat waiting for my food one day, I looked up the history of where George Webb came from. It was very exciting to learn that it was established in Milwaukee, east side on the corner of Ogden and Van Buren in 1948, the first building for Mr. Webb and wife and 3 children that also helped along the way. Also I found out the meaning of the 2 clocks in the restaurant, I love George Webb and my fave meal is the Big Webb Breakfast!!

Place wasn’t very crowded but we had to keep requesting the basics just to get served. Could the guy behind the cash register take the chairs off the table? Get us menus? Get us utensils? How about some water? At one point he ran outside to have a lengthy conversation with the parking police to make sure he didn’t get a ticket. Food was greasy but pretty much what we were expecting. The craziest part was when we were ready to pay. Bill that got set on the table said $19.54. When hubby went to pay, counter guy crumpled up the receipt and threw it in the trash. Punched in some new numbers and told hubby it was $23.42. Hubby asked why the two receipts and why the two different prices. Was told, “service fee and tax.” Someone’s skimming money from the boss.

They never answer the phone, you can never dine-in late night😩. When u order scrambled eggs, they literally just slap a piece of cheese on top. Like it's not even melted. A black guy guy and white men was fighting 😐

Took my grandmother here since it was open late which I now regret. I gave them specific instructions for her food due to her not being able to eat certain things and it was completely ignored she could’ve been severely ill!

Having the expectation of low quality service at midnight is expected… but being treated like a piece of human garbage is not. I understand it’s late at night, but at least have the decency to be respectful to your customers. And to really blame your customer for accepting the wrong To-Go Order when they didn’t even look inside the box until your cooks told people to double check is ridiculous. Be a better person.

I seriously don’t know why you are upset…it’s my opinion - just so you know!
Restaurants are like tastes test and patrons will have (our) opinions to what we like and or not! My opinion (mine only) is that your restaurant tastes have a stale flavor and just like your service.

At 2am, it was an eff nightmare. We placed our order, and the waitress knew that our order was done but didn't notify us. We waited probably 45 minutes while the food was done and sitting there. They definitely knew. Then told us we couldn't eat inside the restaurant. Food was cold and mediocre at best. It was the worst late night food experience I have ever had. The waitress working the night of 4/15 to 4/16 should be fired on the spot. Unbelievable.

First and last time at this location. This by far was the worst dining experience I've ever had at any George Webb's. The waitress took our order and gave us our check all at the same time. never even checked on us once. The waitress along with two other employees were screaming/talking loudly and obnoxiously laughing non-stop constantly. Besides not having the proper things needed to eat my food because the waitress would just never come to the table and was nowhere to be found along with the terrible atmosphere, I had no choice but to pack up my food and leave. It's George Webb, I'm here for the cheeseburger and fries. That being said, I got my cheeseburger and fries quickly once I finally got someone to take my order. My drink arrived much later when I finally got my waitress to look my way (mad skills at avoiding eye contact, by the way!). It took an oddly long time to have a waitress take my order; she walked my way several times but veered (wandered) off at the last second. An older woman told her three separate times to do it but she was bound and determined to avoid it. Finally came over. When I was done I walked up to the register because even as she was watching me finish up and put my coat on, she was not going to make the extra effort to bring my ticket. At the register I noticed she had put her own coat on and said she was leaving. Okay, but can I pay?
Food was as I expected. It hit the spot. Weirdly, all of the available mustard was Dijon. Not bad but for a cheeseburger, it should really be French's all the way. And what happened to cheese fries?! One of my reasons for going, no longer on the menu.
Not screamingly clean but George Webb passable.

I was here in town attending Anime Milwaukee with friends and one of them mentioned this neat diner. Upon looking into it, it reminded me of our Golden Nugget and White Palace Grill here in Chicago. We had breakfast for takeout on Saturday and ate in for lunch Sunday before heading back to our hometown. Food was delicious and decently priced. I'd definitely order here again the next time I'm in the area.

5 stars for friendly service. I was excited for big portions of diner breakfast food but instead......$10 for two thin pancakes and $5+ for a COMICAL side of hashbrowns. The tiniest side, about two bites worth. I dunno. Worth going to of nothing else is open, and this place is (understandably) no longer open 24 hours.

Well first I'd like to say that it sucks that the street name changed! MLK? Really?! I believe it was Old World 3rd street (or something like that), a recognition to the city founders. Not a pandering to its invaders. The food was delicious. Our service was excellent and as always George Webbs prices are terrific. The lady tramp who walked in and panhandled me at my booth was not appreciated but to the credit of the waitress/server she did her best to inform the vagrant that her loitering was not allowed. It's too bad that the ghetto has pushed its way into downtown Milwaukee.

Incredibly rude staff. Our food took about 10
Minutes longer than our friend’s, so they began taking bites out of their sandwiches. The waitress came over to us and yelled at us for eating in the restaurant while sitting down. We were confused because we tipped and expected to eat inside of the restaurant while it was 40 degrees outside.
The waitress rudely informed us that this was not the case-
We are not allowed to eat our food inside despite paying for service. Will not recommend for a late night meal ever.

They were AMAZING.
Talked *$^& about their music. Tried to sit in a booth for carryout only. Almost stole someone else's food. I even loitered and was loud and dumb.
My food was *perfect*. The coffee was fresh. Even got hella pickles as requested. If I could give more stars I would.
