I was Nextdoor getting my nails done, and ordered a grilled chicken, was a bit leary as I could see most items were deep fried. But I love the fried chicken so much I took a chance with grilled… wow! Walked into this place a few years back and turned around because it's only for takeout, and it seemed a bit pricey. I finally decided to give it another shot. I informed the person at the register of my last visit three or so years back. This young gal was simply delightful, she smiled ear to ear and said that I was going to turn into a lifetime customer. I had a 20-minute wait, which turned into only 10 minutes. The gentleman who handed me my order said with a grin, "Here's your order, and we'll see you again soon."

I’ve been visiting this location for the past 20+ years but the last visit was terrible vs. prior visits. I heard the original ow era sold to a new owner a few years ago and with the new ownership, there’s a new cooking process or something changed. Quality has gone way down hill. The chicken is expensive and I didn’t mind paying a lot for high quality but it’s just not the same anymore. Maybe the oil isn’t as fresh as it used to be. Something happened where there’s either clear cost cutting on quality or some sort of lack of quality controls. Metro market chicken is $12 for 16 pieces and taste much better. Willing to try Golden Chicken again if and when the owner acknowledges whatever the quality change was and goes back to the way it used to be a few years back.

My second time here. I got the seafood platter which should be 4 shrimp,3 cod,and 1 haddock according to the menu. I got 3 shrimp, 2 cod,1 haddock and what seemed to be a square fish patty that maybe is for a sandwich. Slightly disappointed with this as my first time I got a chicken dinner that was wonderful. 3 stars is for the strange variety I got tonight. I will skip the fish in the future but will be my go to for fried chicken!

There food has always been delicious. But only accepting cash is business lost these days. I understand there is a processing fee on each transaction, but make it a minimum 10 dollar purchase or something to that effect. A lot of people don't carry cash anymore.

I first started eating here in October I really enjoyed my 10 piece bucket with fries so I decided to return again on 0ctober 18th for another 10 piece bucket only to receive a 9 piece and I have to share between my family and my kids and I we’re shorted a piece of chicken which we really needed when times are hard and I had to scrape up the money to be shorted a chicken then called to let them know just so It wouldn’t happen again and the treated me as if I was lying please count your chicken before leaving here huge problem for my family!

The food is very tasty, the problem is the amount. I ordered the Chicken tender dinner with 2 sauces and for over $13 dollars I got 3 of the skimpiest chicken tenders I've seen. The three tenders together were probably around 1/4-1/3 lb of chicken, the rest is just a basket of fries, a roll, and a small container of coleslaw. I would glady rate higher if I didn't feel that I got gipped when I opened the container.

This is by far the best fried chicken on the bone in Waukesha!! So crispy, hot, juicy and freshly made per order. Coleslaw is also the best and their crinkle fries are always hot & crispy, too.
If you eat the food from here, you'll see why I call the owner my Chicken Daddy. Lol
Don't forget to try their other delicious food, too! They have BBQ beef ribs, pizza, fish, etc. All delicious, so try it all through multiple visits and pick your favorite, but keep coming back because it's worth it.
It's pick up or delivery only though, so you can't dine in there, but that's how they've operated since day one & I've never minded. In fact, I drive an hour just to get fried chicken here. .. cuz it's the best and will worth the drive.

Shy of 5 stars. Dont get me wrong, the staff is friendly and the food is GREAT. However i strongly recommend that if they are going to use styrofoam containers, they put in a heat resistant liner that actually covers the food. The oil from the fryers melt the styrofoam when running off the chicken and the toxin can be absorbed into the food. Not good for the GI tract!

I haven't ordered from Golden Chicken- Waukesha in about 2 or 3 years for personal reasons, but I ordered tonight. Just a large C,S,M,O pizza with extra sauce (my usual favorite) ,but DAMN! Best pizza I've had in a long time. Their large is about 40-50% bigger than the competition's large and tastes much better. Just ate the 4 "corner" pieces and I'm full. Tastes sooo good I want to pig out on it, but I don't want to overdo it. 'Come on stomach, process this through so I can have more of this addictive Za'. Excellent job, Golden Chicken!!!!
