It's the blandest Chinese food I have ever eaten at any place not just Chinese restaurants. I usually order something that is usually a bit spicy but it never is it's almost always kinda sweet. I've even asked them to please make it spicy like their menu describes it but still nothing but bland bland bland. I don't know why but their hot and sour soup is quite good. It has some heat to it and I order it often I just wish the rest of the food had some different taste from the one you ordered last time. Exactly the same and very bland

We ordered Beef Broccoli w/mushrooms. Fried rice and egg rolls.the sauce was pasty to much corn starch, veggies were perfectly cooked but canned mushrooms, beef had a funny texture. Egg rolls had no filling all wrap. Fried rice was very good though. Not worth the money.

I've gone here 3 times in the last 5 years. I keep wanting them to improve, but each time is worse than the last. The Crab Rangoon wrappers taste fishy, like very dirty oil (the cream cheese portion was good). The Egg Drop Soup didn't have any eggs in it, so it was just slime. There were no eggs in the fried rice either, hardly any vegetables, and the rice was brown and soft, like it was leftovers from the week or month before. At that point, I don't dare try the Steamed Dumplings. I don't know how they pass any inspections or how they're still in business. I'd rather buy Eggrolls from the Flea Market stand (other sellers) than eat anything here again.

Ordered two orders of sweet and sour (one chicken and one shrimp) and all we received was the meat portion with a separate container of sweet and sour sauce. No vegetables at all. The best part of this food was the plain white rice we got with the dinners. Also ordered Mongolian beef but we have no idea what we were given there Bad, very very bad. Would not recommend...at all.

I tried to like this place, I really did but I just don't. There service is great, never had an issue there but their food is not great. Their crab rangoon are terribly disappointing. They barely have any filling, like maybe a teaspoon of filling, and that filling tastes more like cream cheese than crab. They are like this EVERY time I go so I know that this is their standard. I've had their Egg Foo Young and it is kind of flavorless, I feel the need to add salt. Their Sesame Chicken has a nice flavor to the sauce but their chicken is extremely dry so pieces get stuck in my teeth and is painful. Most pieces are usually more breading than chicken as well. Their Egg Drop Soup is also lacking flavor as is their Fried Rice. I really did try to like this place and have ordered from here many times hoping that each time I will get a different result, but no, every time I am disappointed in their food. It's a shame because I love Chinese food and this is the only one in our area.

I've also had friends that tell me that a lot of arguing goes on in the kitchen when they are there to pick up food or dine in. I have not experienced this but find it unprofessional.

Also, I noticed someone posted in their review that they have a have a buffet, but this is not true, they must have been thinking of a different place.

I have been to Golden City a few times, in the past few years. Yesterday, it was really bad. All ice from parking to door. I ordered carry out; hunan chicken from lunch menu, includes fried rice, hot n sour soup, and an egg roll. Got home - no egg roll. I was really hungry, but couldn't finish a small cup of soup (which is my favorite) because it didn't taste right. Chicken & rice also had off flavor, so I couldn't finish that either. Up all night with food poisoning. I will not return.

On Friday Dec 1, 2017 I ordered Hunan Beef. I ate the food within about 10 minutes after picking it up. It was still hot, though a little bland. The following day I was quite ill and spent much of the day in the bathroom. I've never written a negative restaurant review before today. I'm not a particularly fastidious or fussy eater, and I've spent years in two Asian countries and spent time in three others. Please do yourself a favor and don't eat at or from this restaurant.
