Not worth the time and money.. food sitting down for more than 35 minutes, the grill were literally empty and the bathroom was so incredibly dirty that my shoes were sticking to the ground and no paper towels around honestly not worth 57+ dollars there's better places to take your kids for a family night.

I've been going here for many years. I went there for dinner. I saw a piece of hair in the steam cabbage. I informed the cooks. They took it away. I watched them to see what they were going to do with it. The lady consulted with her coworker, she took the hair out, stir the tray and walk around to the other side and put the whole tray in the warmer. I hope that warmer is hot enough to kill everything the hair had. Im disappointed. Im going to have to reconsider this place the next time I bring my family for dinner.

I’ll admit it: I don’t normally dine at all-you-can-eat buffets. My lifestyle and palate are more aligned with luxury hotels, fine dining, and curated tasting menus. But during my recent trip to Milwaukee, I found myself at Golden Corral with family — and to my absolute surprise, the experience held its own against two luxury hotels I had just left.

Every single dish I tried was seasoned to perfection — far beyond what I expected in this category. From homestyle classics to fresh salad selections, the flavors were balanced, comforting, and honestly better than several “fine dining” plates I’ve had this week. Sometimes excellence shows up in the most unassuming places, and this was one of those moments.

Let’s also talk about Tracy, whose service redefined what hospitality should look like. She greeted me warmly despite my clear fatigue, anticipated our needs before we asked, and went out of her way to ensure our table felt cared for. Luxury, after all, is less about chandeliers and price points — and more about how you’re made to feel. Tracy delivered five-star energy in a buffet setting, and that is rare.

💡 My suggestion: Golden Corral should consider adding QR codes for reviews so guests can more easily share feedback — because when service and food align this well, it deserves recognition.

✨ Luxury isn’t always about where you are — sometimes it’s about the standard of excellence you encounter. And on this day, Golden Corral exceeded expectations.

TERRIBLE. Don't waste your time.
I arrived about 15 minutes after they opened. I noticed a large amount of people standing outside so I tried the door. I noticed the door was locked. I called their phone and asked if they would be opening today. A lady answered and said, "Did, you even think to try the other door? Clearly it says were open." I quickly hung up and entered through the other door after alerting the large amount of people waiting outside. Once inside the lady at the counter gave me nasty attitude and rolled her eyes at my husband and I after asking us what we wanted to drink. The food was cold, the tables and plates dirty... overall the customer service was horrible. Will not be coming ever again.

I like golden corral. I really do. And this one was no exception. I went here with my family to eat and was told that they have a new manager (whos is likely to blame) food isn't being replenished. Nobody refilling drinks or taking dirty plates. It wasn't always like this.
The food itself is good!! Bourbon street chicken, Mac and cheese, and brocolli soup are absolutely BANGIN'! Also they have cotton candy which is pretty cool. The floors are sticky!! Even the carpet!! And the bathrooms SUCK!! Smells a bit nasty, one of the toilets didn't flush and the door didn't lock. Very deceiving because you think it's fancy but then you actually use it and come out traumatized. The employees themselves seem nice (shout out to our server! She seemed like the only person serving people and I respect her for that.)

I have since visited this location (1673 Arcadian Ave, Waukesha, WI 53186) 15 other times, and I have to tell you—my kids and I were addicted to Golden Corral. This location is way out there in the suburbs, so a 40-minute drive was a commitment. But no matter what, we were always eager to dine here. From February to September, we frequented this location up to 15 times, sometimes visiting as often as 3 times per week.

At first, this location was fantastic! Cotton candy flowing, steaks always on the grill—well done, medium, medium rare—you name it. Never had an issue. If you don’t believe me, there’s an older, heavier Caucasian couple, the man always wears a flat cap, and they were practically dining there every time we visited. It’s like he lives there. Not sure if he’s friends with the owner, but their constant presence should tell you I’m not making any of this up.

However, things have gone downhill—fast.
The quality of food and service at this location has dropped tremendously. The food is just plain nasty now! Dried-up soup, brown/orange lettuce on the salad bar, no mushrooms, and sometimes more than half the salad bar items are missing.

Everything—from the vegetables, spaghetti, pizza, bread, to the now-missing cotton candy and desserts—is a disappointment. But the worst part? The steaks. The most important thing on the menu, and apparently they don’t even bother grilling them anymore. If you ask for one, they look at you like you’re crazy. Bad vibes all around. I’ve never felt uncomfortable asking for a steak until now. The cooks act cheap and annoyed.

The last four times I visited—same behavior. No steaks grilling, none ready to be served. One time, it took 15 minutes, then another 10 minutes before I even got served a steak. The cook grilled one steak for me and my son, told me to come back in 10 minutes, and when I returned, she gave it to someone else and told me to wait another 10 minutes. That was the last straw.

The quality of food here is an embarrassment compared to the Mitchell Airport location. If you want to succeed, you better start emulating what that location is doing. I will no longer visit this location and will take my business elsewhere.

I’ve always tipped every waiter here $10–15 just for refilling drinks. Your waiters lost me. You’ve lost me. And you know your location is quickly sinking into low quality because your food and service are starting to suck—bad.

Me and my bf get there and we wait for about 5 minutes for someone to even come to the register and acknowledge us. By the time we get our food and sit down we notice we didn’t get silverware, we look around and can’t find anything but soup spoons. So I wait for the dude behind the front counter to finish doing what he’s doing but several minutes go by and he doesn’t acknowledge me or any of the customers waiting in line. I go and ask someone else that’s working there to just let me know where to get silverware and they tell me the front counter so I go wait some more and yet again no acknowledgment and no silverware after about ten more minutes someone finally gets us a singular fork and we didn’t even want to eat our food anymore because it was cold and a fly was on it when we came back. Every worker there just had an annoyed look on their face and it was just underwhelming. Drove 40 minutes and spent nearly $50 for two. The only time the hostess wanted to acknowledge us is when we asked for a refund. The place is good when the food is fresh and when the workers actually try to engage with the customers. If you can’t handle working with customers or trying to be friendly with them then don’t work in the customer service 🤦‍♀️

Let me start by saying my waitress was amazing very friendly and welcoming. When we go there I asked for a water and showed my card that describes I have had weight loss surgery most other golden corals just charge me the senior price then which is about $1 less the management there would not do that and the cashier was very rude about it when she told me. Most of the food was good the cabbage was undercooked and flavorless usually I love the cabbage also some of the deserts we undercooked bread pudding or had a weird flavor

8-29-25 7:04 pm was when I rang out and proceeded to my table(having to find a clean one) I had a party of 7! The food selection was scarce and majority of the food was cold! Not a very good experience spending 131$! No one found much of anything they were satisfied with. No one came to give refills I had to go to the front and ask the cashier to please fill my drink. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told he was in the back handling an issue( which I heard already) waited about 30 minutes before I was approached by a gentleman (manager) I assume. No name tag to clarify. He brushed off my issue went to talk to the Gm , but came back saying he left for the day! No solution was given to me and my family! A waste of time and money and stuff left with unsatisfied children!

Haven't been to one in Wisconsin. The ones in Colorado in the Denver area where we live are excellent. Good fresh food and the areas are kept clean. Lots of kids so it's pretty noisy.

I went to this place with kids. The menu is decent. Some dishes were not refilled but not a big deal. The reason for the three star review is that we were given bad service. Sara was our server, she didn’t bother to take away the dishes on time and never asked us if we needed anything like drink refills. She did ask the other tables though. And was giving us side looks like it was deliberate bad service. I don’t mind going to this place again but don’t want Sara to be our server! She left a card saying tips are appreciated I took the card with me and didn’t leave any tip.

I Love Golden Corral , but on this visit the staff wasn't very friendly and seemed overwhelmed. When I inquired about tomatoes I was basically brush off and was told he has to ask if he should cut some up .
When I asked to have my steak medium well , I was given well done and told it was medium well . I just accepted it being that I didn't want to argue about it , even though I knew it wasn't.
Being that it's a family style restaurant the people there weren't expecting a large crowd ( on a Sunday ) .
Although I experienced this situation I enjoy the location . They make sure that the parent help serve their children and try to go above for customers .
I reserve an area for my buildings outings and they song the praises of this location .

We had a great experience the first time we were there on June 23rd!! I'd give all 5 stars for that visit. The manager on shift was walking around introducing herself to everyone!! Super friendly and energetic. As was all the staff that day. Clearing our plates and getting refills for us! But my visit today July 8th 2025 was awful. Not really acknowledged by any of the staff except for the cashier. The desserts were lacking. Two employees more interested in talking to each other than putting more deserts out for the customers. Very disappointed. No one offered to clear our used plates or refill our drinks. There was one young man walking around spraying and wiping tables several were not even used while we were there. We had to stack our used plates on an empty table! To which the young man wiping tables seemed very annoyed about. But was sure to wipe all the empty tables at least 3 times. Not sure if we'll try again. Wish I could remember the young lady who was manager on June 23rd cuz I'd go back definitely during her shift!!!

I always go early before the crowd gets in. But the meat carvers need to learn to not ignore customers when we want ham, turkey and steak. They need to bring back cotton candy and put gummy worms in the desert bar. Kenosha location is better. Edit 6/28/25. I went this morning my server/ hostess came to my table once and that was to pour my cup of coffee from a nearly empty pot. That was the first and only time he came to me. Jay is his name. He serviced the other table in the same area I was in but ignored me. Yeah he's no good.

I've been to Golden corral weekly at the other location and here I was astounded at the contrast. Truly a gross experience. I remarked on this and notice that the owner reached out. However I've read the reviews and nothing has changed. Sometimes you have to replace staff and upgrade the standards. It's worrying that every complaint is highlighting very troubling concerns. I have experience with Google reviews as a former manager and you can offer a canned apology or response. There's more needed than that. The practices performed at this location can get someone killed. There's unsafe food practices that are concerning. Having a pan full of "cooked" meat is a concern due to unsafe hot holding procedures. The overly scratched plate wear can hold bacteria. And putting the plates in the office to use during peak breakfast, lunch or dinner rushes and saving the brand new plates for inspection is not a smart move. Not saying that's what's happening... Just a guess because it's another violation. The bathrooms must be fully functional. If there's a toilet issue an "out of order" sign should be present. Tables should not dirty longer that 8 minutes max because it affects the customer's image of cleanliness. The GM seems to be afraid of loosing bad help. The employees may show up everyday but if they don't respect their work space and the most important people in the building "the guest" they're perpetuating the horrible response from customers. In my restaurants a 4.7 rating would land us in hot water. You can't get complacent due to customer tends. Expectations change with the economy. Yes there's problem guest but in my experience they tend to be regulars. You can't become complacent. Have a heart-to-heart with your regulars if they're causing trouble and let them know that somebody is there for them so they don't have to take it that far. They'll change their tune, guaranteed. Employees that are too busy cleaning or prepping and not paying attention to the customer and being despondent, non entertaining, not willing to assist when assistance is necessary... That's not a good employee, that's a person that lowered the bar for the restaurant. Sometimes you have to rock the boat and get rid of the people who think they have seniority because they have been there longer but they really are the problems with complacency. Your numbers are going to be jacked up when it comes to profit versus wages and now you blew your monthly funds because of overtime of lousy employees. What would it take to hire a cleaning crew? The floors are sticky you feel it when you walk over them! Now if you can't afford the budget for a cleaner than you should use petty cash and rent a cleaner from Walmart for 30 bucks and have that salary manager spend a couple hours just going over the place. I'm sorry but Golden corral is a corporate name and I understand there might be franchises, but you owe it to the public who spends their dollars in this economy to do better. Temperature food more often, where is the line checks? Where is the quat buckets? Where is the passion for culinary perfection in a restaurant that yes may be a corporate name but pride should be held for consistency. We don't need another canned response of "thank you for your input thank you for being honest thank you for sharing your experience please tell us more!" You need to actually act before corporate decides that this location is a liability....
Over my 19 years of being a restaurant manager I've seen this happen more than once. please find your pride and the profits will increase and the reviews will be stellar. Excuse any brevity's or grammatical/spelling errors. Love, a former restaurant manager.

The only reason it is not a 1 star was the price and i have 5 kids and a wife. Everything else horrendous... on top of having more than 50% of the food not being out and the food that was out was not cooked all the way (got the fried chicken and it was still frozen in the middle). I think the way they try and make up for it was the extra protein that came with the food because there were bugs everywhere with the majority of them being Nats that love to swim in the gravy and in your drinks. Staff members were all spaced out literally standing in one spot and just staring at the wall it was weird. And the manager (pretty sure he was the manager) acted like he did not care at all I watched 2 other people approach him with the same issues just not to even get a refund we were there for almost an hour and all of this happened. We were also denied a refund. I have contacted the city health code inspectors and they are now looking into it for health code violations. Hopefully they can get it together soon because of not I can see them getting shutdown real soon.....

The young man that checks you in is the only person we saw that works there,I had to bother him for a highchair and he stopped what he was supposed to be doing to get me one. All the tables were dirty and when I grabbed a bowl for kids ice cream it was full of cheese, very gross. Ribs were burnt hot dogs dry meatloaf was dry and so were the mashed potatoes.

My family and I were there and the food and desserts were delicious and abundant, the servers were courteous and served us well , asked us how everything was when they brought us coffee. Went there for their weekend brunch, and was not disappointed. It stretches on for a freaking mile. Not everything they serve is 10 out of 10, but they have the basics down. Standouts include their pancakes and their bread pudding. Unless you have more self-control than I do, expect to be out of commission for the rest of the day.

Buffet style food, always hot, clean restaurant, friendly welcoming staff, and great food variety. A friend and I eat here twice a month now on various days. Family friendly, lots of fresh fruit, vegetables, and salad items. Typically Turkey, chicken, beef, and pork options. The side dishes are abundant. I love cooked vegetables as well. Then mashed potatoes. The desserts are cakes, cookies, and pies. Custard for everyone. The staff is helpful, kind, and friendly. Lots of smiling faces.

I’ve never been to a buffet where they run out of food and plates even the butter for the rolls. They gave out plastic silverware.(wow) They should have been more Prepared for Mother’s Day weekend. The only good thing about my experience was the manger Tracy. She was so nice but the poor lady been here since 9am and it’s 5pm. I really want a refund because my and my son barely got to eat!! 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ never again

I took my husband and 10 other family members to celebrate my my husband's birthday. Under the floor of the table was lots of left over food that had to be sweeper up before we sat down. The tables weren't clean either. Majority of the food bins were empty or had dried up left overs. They did refund our money, but l will NEVER go back there again!! Horrible!!!!!!

Never going back. First thing I did was go to the bathroom to wash my hands. A elderly lady was washing her poo covered stockings and panties IN THE SINK. Bathroom smelled terrible. I told manager.. but it took them a while to go in the bathroom. Absolutely killed my hunger.
Also carpets near tables were covered in food and crumbs, staff were agitated because there were so many people dining.

Hadn’t been to one since 2015. But this one was incredibly crowded and hard to find a clean table! Not sure why they charge extra for drinks. The food, especially the steaks were cooked well. It was had a very wide variety of food. Which was a great thing. Unfortunately we had to keep finding someone to come clean our dishes from our table, they ran out of dishes, and we had to ask over 3 times to have our drinks refilled. All in all it was a mediocre experience.

Today my wife ,daughter and I decided to go eat at Golden Corral in Waukesha Wi. And we was not happy. They only had 3 different type of sodas you can get because they ran out of the other soda. The greens and cabbage was not cooked all the way. Majority of the tables were dirty. The carpet throughout the place was dirty with food all over the floors. The Mac & cheese looked dry the utensils was dirty and some of the workers was not acting professional. Uniforms was dirty honestly I never ate in such filthy dirty environment like this before. Don’t know what happened but it needs to be corrected.

So we have been here several times and had a good experience. But today not so much. The gentleman that checked us in was very friendly and polite. Plenty of open seating. Went up to the meat counter and was waiting for help. Lady behind the area was doing other things and did not come over. About 5minutes later she came over and cut 2 pieces of meat and just walked away. Nothing was ever said. Food was good and had a good assortment to choose from. When I got to the desert there was no silverware to use .I was trying to get someone's attention and no one stepped up right. After I few minutes she came forward and I asked. She than walked around for a few more minutes before getting any. The restaurant was clean. The staff were the issue. Plenty of parking. Easy to find.

Went to the Golden Coral in Waukesha with a group of 8 younger boys for a birthday party. We paid $18.59 per person for the "weekend" buffet. Then we paid an additional $3.19 per drink. Thats $21.78 per person for young kids! Then to top things off, because we had more than a certain amount of people, they added a gratuity directly on my bill. Right off the bat at the register, they were out of Root Beer, Orange, & Sprite sodas. So we are supposed to pay $3.19 for a drink as long as it's coke or Mellow Yellow. Then we went to our table and then headed to the buffet. The plate area was completely empty. We waited approximately 5 minutes for some plates and the proceeded to the buffet. When we got back to the table, we had no silverware. I trackdown a waitress and she said she would have our server get us taken care of. It took a few minutes but they did return with silverware. The food selection was average at best. The line to get a steak was 6-8 people long at all times with people bring steaks back saying they were undercooked. It wasn't worth the wait. We were mostly thru eating and everyone was out of their $3.19 drinks waiting on refills. I again had to go get a waitress who again said she would get our waiter. We waited approximately 5-10 minutes before our waiter came and finally got us a refill. When we were done eating, we went for dessert. The dessert selections were awful with many empty areas. The ice cream machine had "out of service" on both the vanilla and the chocolate. The overall experience was horrible and I was forced to leave a higher than normal gratuity even though the service was horrible. We go to Golden Coral once a year and every time it gets worse. This one tops the cake. We will no longer support the Golden Coral. I can eat at many other places for way less money and a much better experience. The restaurant was also pretty dirty!

I love to come hear when I wanna eat alot and fill up with different varieties. I love the fish fried or baked. Banana pudding, carrots fruit salad with pineapples and raisens(wasn't there the last time I went). I am a meat eater so I try all that they have(pot roast not so much). Good luck.

Unfortunately it's obvious they don't have enough workers to tend to getting customers' beverages and clearing tables. I have no problem getting my own drink but they don't allow it. Also, the few workers in the dining room spend much of their time visiting with "regulars" who seem to spend the day sitting there visiting and grazing.
