I am here to add to the long list of amazing reviews for this place— believe them all! The service, atmosphere, and food were all absolutely stellar. My husband got the Parmesan encrusted ribeye and I got the prawn piccata with chorizo. Both were otherworldly in their excellence. The lemony brightness of the piccata was perfectly balanced by the smoky roundness of the chorizo, accented by the salty capers and creamy smashed reds. The ribeye was mouth-wateringly tender and incredibly flavorful. Crème brûlée topped with a fruit compote was the perfect ending to what was easily one of the best meals we ever had. Three cheers to the owner Ben for creating an environment where good people thrive creating beautiful experiences for their guests. Anna our server was also wonderful. We plan to return!

My husband and I dined here last evening and had the most wonderful experience. The atmosphere is so quaint, like I looked outside and felt like I was at my childhood home. Come to find out, the restaurant was the home the owner actually grew up in! It’s a great story and I’m sure he will share it with anyone that asks. Ben greeted every patron with a “hello friend” and took pride in his establishment and the food that came out of his kitchen. And let’s just say that food was exceptionally prepared and one of the best meals my husband and I have had in a long time! Wow! We are so glad we got to eat at Good Thyme during our stay! We did not make a reservation but we were still able to get bar seating- there were about 15 chairs at the bar so plenty of room. The food was incredible! We shared the chipotle steak bites and the potstickers as an appetizer. For dinner, I got the pecan crusted halibut and then for dessert, the ice-cream cookie sundae. Reservations are strongly encouraged, but this place is well worth the wait and will not disappoint!

We luckily got to try the Good Thyme restaurant for a family of dinner of six when we were in Wisconsin. We had a phenomenal experience! The restaurant has a warm atmosphere with a very friendly staff. We ate at the bar and Chris the bartender took great care of us. Good Thyme tries to use locally sourced ingredients and food for their meals. For an appetizer we had the pot stickers and the Quattro Formaggi Crostini’s and they were excellent! The dinner came with a house salad with a special house dressing, which everyone enjoyed. They have many great dinner entrees. I had the ribeye and it was prepared perfectly and it had a savory taste. I really enjoyed it. We tried the crème brûlée for dessert and it was fantastic! By the time we left it didn’t seem like there was an empty table in the restaurant. We were delighted and fortunate to have found this gem of a restaurant in Wisconsin.

Rude host. We called ahead and were told that we could be seated at the bar for dinner. OK - that would work for us. When we arrived, we were told to sit outside on the deck and a cocktail menu would be on its way. After waiting for quite a while, no one acknowledged we were even there, so we left. Will not go back.

In response to Owner: You have missed the point entirely. The issue was not having to wait. That is understandable. The issue is poor service and not keeping your word. You could have shown us to the deck instead of just pointing us to the door. You could have brought the drink menu as you said you would. You could have sent someone to check on us. There were so many right options, but you chose none of them. Waiting is not a problem if a good host (or owner, as the case may be) knows how to show hospitality.

If you are looking for a high quality meal in Northern Wisconsin, this place should be at the top of your list. We stopped tonight, but unfortunately we did not have reservations. The place was fully booked, so decided to eat at the bar. That is normally not something I would normally consider, but we had a marvelous experience. We started with a couple of cocktails with Ahi crisps as an appetizer. I had the ribeye, while my husband had halibut. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. Amazing all-around!! I've been to Good Thyme multiple times and I have never had a less than stellar experience. Each dish is immaculately cooked and packed with flavor. When you step inside, you immediately welcomed and treated like family. Good Thyme a one-of-a-kind gem and easily my favorite place to to dine.

The atmosphere is cozy and kind, evoking this feeling of home and connection. The restaurant has a deep, familial history and a beautiful story. One of my favorite small details is their copper tables. On these tables you can see water rings and tarnish marks, and it gives you this incredible sense of the people who sat there and enjoyed a meal before you. I love to sit and listen to the music, chatter, and laughter throughout the dining room. It simply radiates a positive energy.

The staff are incredibly kind, attentive, and thoughtful. Learn the story of the restaurant from Ben, the host and owner. He's remarkably attentive and greets every table throughout the evening. The wait staff will attend to whatever you need and they are all so friendly!

The food is delicious and made with love. Each meal is its own art piece. Bursting with flavor and plated with care, these dishes are attuned to any food-lover's tastebuds. Despite having a full stomach from the entree, I always make sure to get a dessert. They're a perfect finale! I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention the phenomenal cocktails. They go down wonderfully smooth and pair well with any appetizer or entree.

My wife and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Good Thyme this past Saturday, and we’re still talking about it days later. In an era where outstanding dining experiences feel few and far between, this place was a refreshing—and unforgettable—exception.

I ordered the steak, and my wife had the shrimp, and both dishes were nothing short of phenomenal. Perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. Every bite felt like it had a story behind it, and the attention to detail in the preparation was evident from the first forkful to the last.

What truly set Good Thyme apart, though, was the hospitality. The owner, Ben, is one of the most personable, genuine characters I’ve ever encountered in a restaurant setting. My husband and I finally stopped in for dinner on our recent babymoon, after several years of driving by this place during trips to the Bayfield area. We had a lovely experience - both the food (cheese curds, halibut, and ribeye) and the service were great. I especially appreciated the mocktails this trip, but will be looking forward to a glass of wine on our next trip (after baby). Fine dining restaurant at affordable prices. Now I know that makes this sound like some cheap ad for an even cheaper place but this place is as down to earth and delicious as it gets. I took part in their unlimited pasta night for something like 26 dollars. I tried the shrimp and saffron creme as well as the marina chorizo. I preferred the marinara but both were fantastic. Sat at the bar and Chris was a great bartender. There was too much dressing on my salad. My first dish was not let to rest and brought out too hot. As an International business traveler it is rare to find good restaurants when in "the sticks". Good Thyme is an exception to that. I had long road trip and had to reschedule my reservation (two times) to past 8PM. The entire staff was there and they kept the kitchen open. The food was better than one could find in a major city. The dry rub ribettes did me in and made so sad about not being able to finish my salmon in saffron cream with wild mushroom ravioli (no cheese BTW!) A diamond in the rough! My wife and visited the Apostle Islands area/Bayfield to get away from the Houston heat, and most of the restaurants we encountered were touristy, with average food. Good Thyme was recommended to us by a local and we decided to check it out. What a great decision! I can't recommend Good Thyme enough. We didn't have a reservation, but the Maitre d found a table for us. The staff was attentive and friendly. The owner was available and personally visited with each table to ensure customer satisfaction and engage in some friendly conversation. The plates we ordered were amazing. Great attention to detail that we would expect in an expensive, upscale Houston restaurant. We started with duck wontons, and then proceeded to the hand cut ribeye and 'Saffron & Salmon'. The potatoes accompanying the steak were especially outstanding. We finished with a chocolate mousse with a berry glaze topping. Everything tasted great and the presentation was top notch. I wish this restaurant was in Houston.

The food is perfectly cooked and combines unique flavors. We had the duck wontons with an incredible sauce, the terrace major crusted steak, and the saffron and salmon. Service is also spectacular, the entire meal was paced very well and the bustling energy in the restaurant was so fun to be a part of. For dessert we had the brown butter cake served on a cast iron skillet, the mix of hot cake and cold vanilla ice cream is my favorite combination. After our meal, we made friends at the fire pit and enjoyed talking to the restaurant owners, Ben and Sara. They are two good hearted people with great stories to tell and their love shines through at this restaurant!

The food was very good but the service could have been better. I’m not sure why but it used to be just common to have your water glass or coffee filled without having to ask but not anymore, even at this supposedly upscale restaurant. They also charge for every drink refill including iced tea! This was a special occasion for us and my husband had read great reviews about this restaurant and we were excited to try it. The hostess and our server were very friendly and welcoming but the owner was constantly checking on every customer in the restaurant around us which isn’t very large but never once checked with our table and actually totally ignored my father-in-laws question when he was walking past our table. It is obvious the owner is not fond of tourists because everyone else seemed to be regulars. That is not the way to stay in business! We were trying to experience all the restaurants in the area while vacationing here but on our next trip here we will not be giving this restaurant our business !!!

Got a chance to visit tonight and I am so glad we did! Starters we're the mussels and we devoured them, with the boy having the majority! I really enjoyed the Thai Curry Shrimp, hubby had the Moraccan Chicken and the boy the Friday Fish fry. We finished the evening with the most amazing dark chocolate mousse with a fruit compote and whipped cream.

Overall a very enjoyable experience. Would definitely go back and recommend!

Traveled from Minnesota for a weekend getaway and had dinner at this place. Ribeye was exceptional - the best steak I had in months. Great value ($39). The all you can eat fish fry was also a great value, but the taste was standard and was as expected. The complementary salad was extremely good - such a nice surprise. Highly recommend this place! The char ribeye was amazing. Beautiful old house, we had the mussels and the duck wontons for appetizers, which were delicious. The star of the show is definitely the ribeye. We were in the area for about 5 days and was recommended this place from howl brewery. We decided to give it a try. We ended up going two nights in a row. 0 complaints. Food is top notch and drinks are made to perfection. I had the ribeye both nights and the wife had salmon and whitefish. Amazing place. Definitely the best in the area by A LOT. Order an old fashioned and a ribeye. You won't be disappointed unless you don't like those to begin with

I do recommend this place. Customer Service is top-notch spectacular. Our food was very good.

Make sure you eat inside! We did not have reservations and chose to eat on the deck. There is nothing special about the view, but the flies were unbelievably persistent. We spent most of our dinner swatting flies. That was too bad as it harmed what would have been a great dining experience.

We will be going back, only inside dining though.

We have been here in the past before the new owner. Food was amazing as usual, but the service was sub par. They rushed us through our dinner. Nothing was relaxed and we never had time to settle in. The food here was delicious the whole experience was spot on. From being greeted at the door to being ushered directly to our table, the service staff was on top of it and the food was unique and well prepared. I don't live near here but I will make it a point to get here again.

I absolutely love this spot. I think it’s some of the best food you can find in NW Wisconsin and Northern MN. There’s a reason they’ve been in business for so long! We started with the duck wontons which were lovely and generous in portion size. I had the pistachio encrusted whitefish and that was cooked perfectly. The dish itself was so well balanced and delightful - I recommend that dish! Even the side salad was delicious! My husband ordered the trout and also loved it. My son ordered the cheeseburger from the kids menu - I sampled a bite and let me tell you, it made me want to come back again and order the double smash burger. They excelled at a kids cheeseburger - that means something, y’all! Overall a great experience - don’t be afraid to take the kids!

Great meal! Three of us had an evening meal here and absolutely loved everything about it! Two of us have been dining here every summer for years. We noted the new ownership and wondered how that change would affect our experience this year. It turned out we loved it! New menu items and some of the great “regular” staff serving
us. Two of us had the Red Curry with Shrimp and found it to be excellent. I had the pistachio-crusted whitefish and it was excellent. The presentation of the meals was wonderful. And you could taste the high-quality ingredients. We highly recommend Good Thyme. It is a gourmet-level dining experience up in northern Wisconsin.

Friendly and I mean friendly, it's obvious this is a place where people know your name if you're a local/regular, we were not but they were very accommodating. Parking is a non-issue, quaint conversion on a rural property. Wine presentation was done well and with pride which is a rarity nowadays and appreciated. Prices are actually more reasonable than Google let on so perhaps their data is outdated. Food like this is typically oversalted and this was not the case, again, appreciated. I noticed some strategically placed acoustical panels in the ceiling and thought they were tasteful and effective but once the restaurant filled, it was loud. People just having a good thyme. Manager was attentive.

Good Thyme is a cozy, beautifully decorated place with delicious food and excellent service. We had the Friday night fish, and it was done perfectly and came out super fast. The couple next to us had a baby that mom had to take care of for a bit, and when they asked if the restaurant could keep their plate warm the staff was super understanding and accommodating. I would recommend a reservation, luckily there were two spots at the bar but this place is popular for a reason!!

So amazing! The restaurant itself is so homey and beautiful. But.. THE FOOD! It's our yearly date place every time we are in the area. I have the ribeye every time and it's always delicious. My husband had the ravioli with gulf shrimp tonight and we shared and for starters the duck wontons might be the best appetizer we've ever had. Then every time the warm chocolate chip cookie for dessert.
