Greeted when we walked in , we were asked if we wanted to sit at bar or wished to be seated right away. Our server was friendly and attentive to our needs. It was a Monday at 11am so it was not busy. A good selection of Beer and Alcoholic drinks. Our food came out with only a short wait. I got an American Burger , my burger came with deep fried cheese curds, bacon, lettuce and tomato. A good size burger that was juicy and large slices of bacon. Check online menu for a nice variety of lunch and dinner selections.

Two freaking hours for a fish fry for two?!? I’m sorry, service here sucks! I came here before a Thrasher Opera house show. Walked in at 5:30 “30 minutes at the most”! Two hours later and no food! I love Thrasher, but their “preferred” dinner venue Gooseblind needs to get their act together!

Update. Nobody said a thing to us, we had two cocktails and waited at our table and at 7:27 left, with cash on the table to cover the drinks. No comped anything & no explanation. My review stands.

In to golf with some family and friends. Walked here from our hotel. Thought it would be a great spot to grab some food and watch the first NFL game of the season. Unfortunately they lost the remotes to the TV and could not change the channels. The service was okay but disjointed. I had an individual pizza that was good and tried the wings which were good size with a mild but tasty buffalo sauce.

We had eaten here a couple of years ago when we stopped in Green Lake and the food and service was great but not this time. The service was very poor and the food wasn't much better. My wifes chicken bacon ranch sandwich was so over cooked and was missing the ranch dressing and the bacon. I had the chicken bacon ranch wrap and it was missing the bacon.
The service was very slow and like mentioned in previous reviews the place needs a good deep cleaning!!

We were in town for a wedding and wanted to try a local spot. When we arrived at the restaurant we asked to sit outside but it was a little awkward because there was someone watering the flowers but also spraying all the outdoor tables. We managed to get a dry one but then the same guy that was watering the flowers was always lurking about and muttering very odd things. Totally unrelated to the meal but off putting…

Now the food. I’ve never had greasier food in my life! The fried pickles came with about a cup of oil and the burger had a bun that was just absolutely drenched in grease. It ruined the burger because we ended up having to discard the soggy bun. Burger was undercooked also but tasted okay. The French fries were also swimming in grease and had to be patted down before eating. I ordered a chicken salad and the chicken was a tab rubbery and the French dressing very watery. To top it off, I got food poisoning about an hour after we left 🫠 thankfully I had enough time to recover before the wedding.

It's always a 5 star experience at the GBGB!! Their ruben is 10/10, and the wings always hit the stop. Shout out to Elena for being the BEST bartender in Green Lake!! I rarely give bad reviews, but our treatment today was the absolute worst. We asked for outside dining and Erin, our server was visibility annoyed and rude. The service didn't improve from there. Her attitude was horrible, and she was visibly unhappy to be there. We were kind and understanding when items we requested were not available. We ultimately left without ordering. Erin, you need to find a new job. Management, you need to make sure what you have on the menu is actually available. (And in response to your reply... we could've cared less about available drinks/beer. We left because of the horrible service and the way we were treated. )

So, this is the second time in a couple of weeks that we went there. Food was good the first time but service was horrible. Could not get the bartender to even look at us, and it wasn't busy. The second time we walked out without being acknowledged. We were at the bar, and wanted a full meal and drinks, and the bartender could not be bothered to wait on us. We waited 25 minutes. We’ve been to the Goose Blind many times while visiting Green Lake. We continue to enjoy the bar.
Being short staff is hard to make things timely when busy. We didn’t give up and waited patiently. Many others did walk out or left after waiting in line to be served. I highly recommend going after 6:00 pm. The rush definitely thins out.
Our server was kind and very busy. Staff help each other delivering drinks and food.
The food is worth the wait. If your inpatient or in a hurry you may want to try a later time.

Markesan High School Class of 1964 just celebrated their 60th class reunion in the upstairs space at the Goose Blind in Green Lake. We worked with Lisa in securing the reservation and choosing the menu. She was very efficient and helpful. She also handled all the food, bar service, table service, etc by herself since the facility was also hosting a Polka Octoberfest celebration outside. She was absolutely amazing!!! Everyone raved about the prime rib!! We would definitely schedule another event one day.

The food was excellent, the atmosphere is great, the service is some of the very worst I've experienced. After waiting a while to be seated and to have our order taken we waited for 40 minutes for our food and it was fairly slow in the restaurant that night. When we received our food two of the entrees were not what was ordered and the appetizer was missing. Mistakes happen, but it would not be correct yet a second time as the appetizer was still missing. Our glasses were empty for much of our time there, and then they were only filled because we had to flag the waitress down. This was far from our first attempt to do so. The ketchup was also empty, but our waitress was unavailable to get more. We were treated as an inconvenience the whole meal. At the end our appetizer was brought out boxed up, which would have been fine had the waitress not thrown it on the table while refusing to even look at us or speak to us. I wish I could say who our waitress was but she never introduced herself. I understand mistakes happen, but how things are handled afterwards makes all the difference. It's not typical of me to leave a review, but I honestly left angry on what should have been a good night. I suppose that's what happens when you throw food at customers. I will not be returning.

First time here, and I was pleasantly surprised by the cozy welcoming environment, friendly staff, fair prices, drink selection, and fun games like trivia night. The building is definitely great for groups with indoor, outdoor and bar seating. Definitely will return for the pizza and salad. The wings looked amazing will definitely try next time! On Sunday, July 21st, two of my friends and I visited Gooseblind for lunch. The service was extremely slow and the place was pretty packed. We understood, it was EAA visitors everywhere. We were also greated by the hostess several times and she explained the situation.
Within time, we were greeted by our server and she took our order for artichoke dip and cheese curds. Both were quite tasty.
As we ate, the place emptied out. Because of how cold it was where we were seated, we decided to move to a different table. By this time the dining room was empty. Another server walked in and said loudly, "You moved!" We explained how cold it was under the air vent. We went on to order a pizza. It took awhile but was good.
Now, the part that I find to be against health rules and totally disgusting. Our server walked into the bathroom with her apron in place (a big no-no) and came out approximately 4-5 minutes later. She raised her hands in there air and let out a loud sigh and then giggled. GROSS! If this is what is done in front of the customer, I can't image what is done behind closed doors.
I'm from out of state, but my friends are not. They're local and will probably never eat at Gooseblind again.

A group of six of us checked in at the front for a table and were told it would be 30mins. The wait was not an issue as we enjoyed a drink and sat outside. When we were called to get seated the hostess didn’t have a table ready. Asked if she could split us up into 4 and 2 and was very confused when we asked if we could please sit together. A table was finally found for us and our waitress came right away. Only problem was that it was the only time she came to our table. To take one drink order, bring the drinks and then bring our food. She never came back for more drinks or to check on us. We went to the bar to get waters, order another round, and ask for silverware. We saw her standing at the bar chatting with coworkers and didn’t flinch when we ordered our own drinks. Luckily the food was good. A friend and I went to Gooseblind this past Friday. I ordered a Badger burger, medium rare, and my friend ordered shrimp scampi. We waited 45 minutes for our meals. When they arrived, my burger was well done. I returned it, asking again for meduim rare. 25 minutes later they brought out another burger, more cooked than the first one. The shrimp from the scampi was overcooked, chewy, and hardly edible. I asked to speak with management and a woman named Lisa came to the table. She looked at the burger and agreed that it was well done, and not what I ordered, twice. She apologized, adding that they are hiring two new cooks in May. She went on to say that the cooks they have now are terrible at their jobs. Such loyalty to her employees! She offered us each a piece of cheesecake to go and said she'd give me a giftcard "to entice you to come back after the new cooks start." Thinking that she was trying to help us, I agreed. The cheese cake slices were the smalles Ive ever seen. It was straight out of the freezer, bland and tasteless. And the giftcard? It was for $5. Seriously?? I sat for 75 minutes, watching everybody else eat. I left with no meal. I don't know what Lisa thinks enticement is, but its certainly not $5! I has also ordered clam chowder to go and my friend had hers with her ml. I paid $5.50 for the chowder. Today, my friend has food poisoning. So, Im not eating my chowder, thats for damn sure. I can guarantee neither of us will EVER go back to the Gooseblind for a meal. The food was disgusting, the service was poor, and the new management is worse than the old. If I was one of those cooks, I'd be done working there since my boss blamed me for it all, saying I can't cook. I'll be sure to warn people about how awful our experience was and tell them to eat anywhere esle in Green lake but at the Gooseblind. Nasty and disgusting!

The Goose Blind restaurant has been my favorite restaurant since I moved to Green Lake back in 2013. It really saddens me to give this review of yesterday's visit. Me & a friend of mine had won a gift card, last time we went in to play Monday night trivia. We walked up to the Goose Blind to use the card yesterday and we were both really disappointed in the quality of the food. I had ordered the Shrimp Scampi, which usually comes with pasta. When my dinner arrived it was just a few pieces of shrimp in butter sauce. The shrimp was over cooked and very tough. I didn't think anything of it at the time, so I didn't send it back even though I should have. Now today I'm throwing up from food poisoning. My friend sent her meal back and talked to the manager, Lisa. She explained to us that they're hiring new chefs starting in May. I don't know if the restaurant should wait that long. I understand that many places are short staffed, although, the public SHOULD NOT be getting sick due to short staff. I've never complained or given a bad review to a business ever in my whole life. I really just want to prevent others from getting sick from Goose Blind and I hope they can successfully bring back the Goose Blind I've always referred my family and friends to, in the past. I had the chicken chili. It was delicious. They have a decent selection of beers beyond the usual swill that is served everywhere else. We shared a pizza. It was good. I didn't particularly care for the flavor of the sauce, but that is just a matter of personal taste. Everyone else seemed to really like it. The cheese was a little light for my liking, but again, everyone else was OK with it. There was a fair amount of toppings evenly distributed across the pizza. We ordered the meat special, which includes pepperoni, sausage and I forget what all else.
The service was very good, not surprisingly because we were the only party in the dining area, but our server was very pleasant and friendly. My family got to talking to her about the change of ownership of the place and she had nothing but nice things to say about her bosses, the owners. All in all, it was a pleasant experience.
I don't see the chicken chili on the list to recommend but I do recommend it. It is very tasty.

To be upfront and honest I haven't been to the bar since the ownership has changed for various reasons. And to be honest back in the day the Goose used to be the spot that the locals and visitor's went to on the weekends.

But I had some friends from out of town who wanted to go. So we stopped in and everyone in the bar was having a good time. The bar decided that they didn't want to stay open until they are allowed to. I guess they must have made enough money during the day or something. I'm not sure of to many bars that wouldn't enjoy having 10-20 people in there establishment spending money right up until they have to close..

Maybe ownership should focus on getting one business running smoothly and consistent instead of having 4 or more in various stages..

The food and servers were excellent. We had just walked out of another Green Lake restaurant because after 15 minutes, the staff could not even acknowledge us. We had the opposite experience at Goose Blind. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, our servers were wonderful, food was great, and we were acknowledged as we were leaving.
