We hosted our Rehearsal Dinner upstairs at the Cobalt Lounge! We worked directly with Katy- the Event Manager. Katy was a joy to work with from our initial inquiry, to the event itself. The food was delicious- we got the Tex Mex buffet spread and everyone raved about it. We could not be happier with the service, beautiful location and food. Highly recommend going to Gordys for dinner, it sits right on the lake and is a beautiful view.

Came in here for lunch on a Saturday. It wasn’t too busy and the waitress was very attentive. I don’t remember her name, but she was amazing! We ordered cheese curds for the table, I had a Bloody Mary, and the chu cho burger. The cheese curds weren’t that good it felt like that sat out for a bit before they arrived to the table. The Bloody Mary was really good, I’m not a huge fan of that drink, but I really enjoyed it. The burger was also very good, it was a huge portion. Overall a decent experience.

I have never written a review but felt like I had to…
I had a steak wrap that had VERY little steak, it was supposed to have tomato’s but it only had about two very small cut up pieces of tomatoes, there was no sauce on the wrap so I had to ask for ranch. It was basically a lettuce wrap with no flavor or meat. The wrap was cut in half and the first bit of the wrap was a little bit of steak then I could not find anymore in the wrap. I even opened the wrap up to dig through and discovered it was just lettuce. The Cole slaw that is offered with the meal was dry. It was just cut up cabbage in a tiny cup. Another comment from our table included the coconut shrimp had zero coconut flavor and the shrimp was minimal. Service was excellent and atmosphere was great being by the water but need to work on the food and flavor big time!!

My husband had the calamari and coconut shrimp for dinner. It was delicious. The batter was very light and crisp. I had the Nashville hot chicken. Loved it. The brand old fashioned and the novacaine mixed drinks were very good!

Gordys boat house is a short walk from the abbey resort where we are staying so since I was interested in having a drink walking sounded alot better then driving, so for me the most important part of a fun dining experience is the staff, if the staff is happy then you know you are in a good place so as we were seated we met our waitress molly who absolutely was fun and informative about our choices and made our visit fun, I ordered the El fuego burger and frys along with a cocktail called a painkiller, the burger was a little spicy and the painkiller cocktail complemented the burger nicely, they have indoor and outdoor seating and the restraunt is next to the lake so you will have a nice view, yes I would gladly go back

We enjoy coming here for a cocktail and some typical Americana food. The food is good. Not great, not horrible.

My only pet peeve is I believe the wait staff has the discretion to add gratuity on parties of 6 or higher (maybe less). We've been served where gratuity is added and as well as not added. My issue is they can add 20%. What they don't know is that we tip 30-40% when our service is good, so when I see the added gratuity of 20% I never add to it. I'm not opposed to adding gratuity, but I think adding gratuity should be 15%. By adding 20% that tells me "despite the level of service or experience I'm giving myself an above industry standard tip on your bill."

Edit to Response: If its stated on the menu then that's fair enough. I just think its a business decision that pre emptively assumes exceptional service should you be a party of 6 and I dont agree with it. We were in this past Thursday as a party of 4 and tipped $55 on $105 bill ($160 total) because of exceptional service. If we were a party of 6 with a $105 bill and an automatic 20% tip added ($126 total) I would not add to the tip, but the point of the matter is if we received poor service I don't think forcing a 20% tip is a good business practice.

I was extremely disappointed with the food. I ordered a simple caesar salad, which was $15, and I was expecting it to at least taste good for the price… I received a small salad that had a sour taste, hardly any caesar dressing, and wilty lettuce that was obviously not fresh. The people coming to your restaurant are not all tourists. I get serving tourists and that it is a quick buck and they will eat anything, but what about the people who have been coming to your restaurant for 30+ years?

Stopped in for lunch on a Monday, wasn't busy when we got there but did fill in during our time there. There was quite a bit of staff which is nice to see; they visibly all helped each other out which makes for a pleasant dining experience. We had a variety of food at our table and everyone was satisfied with what they got, not blown away and not disappointed. I had the fish tacos. They lacked a little in flavor, kind of bland. The BBQ flatbread pizza was good and the kids mac n' cheese was great! Would definitely go back if we're in the area but would try something else.

Restaurant has really gone down hill over the past year. Used to love coming here. The last time we came in the spring, the food was just mediocre. Today our fries were burnt, fish tacos weren't even warm, and chicken tenders were still doughy. We had to order a second meal for my daughter because she couldn't eat the chicken tenders, and even though I mentioned the issues and asked that they let a manager know, they still charged us for the tenders.

Food was great! I brought my 2 year old and she was welcomed with a kid cup (which surprisingly I usually have to ask for at other places).
There was excellent live music outside, however when we got there they said it would be a 35 min wait. So we went inside to get an appetizer so my daughter could eat a little something while waiting for our table. Our waiter inside was amazing. Attentive, quick, knowledgeable about the menu. He was great. I wish we had stayed inside.
We had to ask for a server about 15 min after being seated. There were 3 of them in the booth area out there laughing about "how old they are" and they were clearly drinking and teasing each other about it. The girl that was our server was annoyed we asked for her. She never came back to our table again and we had to ask the host for sides of ranch and salsa - she happily obliged. Our server also had to be fetched again for our check.
All in all - Food and atmosphere were stellar. One bad server didn't ruin it, just made dinner more difficult.

Our waitress was terrible! They brought out the food, she never came back ti our table. I had to ask another waitress, or a diet pop and some sauce. She said she would bring it out, and she never did. Then I had to go find our waitress after waiting for a sauce for it and a diet drink. I had ti get up from the table and track her down because she never came back to our table.

The yummy honey chicken sandwich beware is very spicy! They never explained that there is Sriracha and there’s hot sauce. Thank goodness, I got the sauce on the side, all in all the chicken was very dry and I didn’t even finish my sandwich.

Unfortunately, the food is sub par and overpriced, but I guess that’s the cost of admission for the location. Cheese curds and onion rings were the best apps. The coconut shrimp were decent but the shrimp tacos were a big let down. I will say the kids mac n cheese was entree sized and enough for leftovers. Chucks next door is the better option, but their seating is limited in comparison.

My husband, 15 year old daughter, and I were spending the day at Fontana Beach and wanted lunch. We walked into Gordy’s, were seated at a table and given menus. Our daughter had shorts and a modest swim suit top.
As we were deciding what to order the hostess came over, told us that our daughter needed to over up… that we could go buy a t shirt at the boat shop.
This is a marina
Meanwhile, the obese gentleman next to us had on our way too small wife beater shirt that barely covered up anything.
Our daughter was embarrassed and hurt.
We left and walked down to Chuck’s, where we were welcome to warmly.
I consciously went in ahead of time to ask if she would be OK to come and eat lunch inside and they were appalled that she had received the treatment that she did at Gordy’s.
They were very kind and gave her lunch on the house. They said it is very common for people to come in with her swimsuit tops on as this is a marina beach setting.
I called Gordy’s to register my complaint, and walked down to talk to the supervisor who told us that the health department dictated that everyone had to have covered up.
Our daughter is a beautiful Haitian. We question whether that was a factor.

The food was good but our server Madeline was not. She was very inattentive, busy chatting with other employees and forgot to place one person's lunch order which meant everyone else had been served at least fifteen minutes before the final plate showed up at our table. We weren't offered refills for beverages or asked if we would care for anything else before she showed up with our bill. Being that we are locals, we know plenty of people. That Being said, perhaps Madeline should have been thankful for the gratuity of twelve percent that we left for her even considering the less than decent service she gave us rather than making negative comments about us once we left! Too bad that she had not been trained how to do her job well and keep her comments to herself in public.

While the staff were wonderful, the food was atrocious. We ordered the nachos as an app and it turned us off to eating our lunch there so we left early and had lunch elsewhere.

The nachos were super cold, covered in cold canned cheese sauce and sour cream. No beans, no salsa, as advertised. I know nachos aren't glorious but I was at least hoping for what we paid for ($17) and got something you can get at the concession stand at a little league baseball game.

My wife and I went here for dinner on a beautiful Tuesday evening. The service was adequate if a bit slow- honestly it doesn’t make or break an experience for me. Been coming here for years because we stay at the abbey just up the street several times a year. Food has really gone downhill since Cove, nothing seems fresh anymore. Everything seems reheated and just not tasty. Maybe they’re trying to cut corners. Just makes me sad that we’ll prob have to find a new go to spot as we have so many memories here!

Love Fontana and will continue to come to Gordy's but they could benefit from the servers being more knowledgeable of the menu for a few mistakes went on... I recommend the bavarian pretzel with an extra cheese cup bc it's huge and good

We always love the Boat House.. it's a must for lunch. Nice staff, great food, great lake atmosphere. A+++
