Country Fried Steak was perfect. Always enjoy stopping in for a breakfast steak and shake when I am in town early enough. The unicorn shake is an addictive treat after a black coffee, but it'll always be my go to.

Went for breakfast a few weeks back. Wasn't that busy got a seat right away. Ordered our food then proceeded to wait 40 mins for our food. Then it was sunny inside wanted the shade pulled down, the gentlemen working inside gave me nothing but attitude to pull down the shade. Then was overpriced for the little amount of food you received.

If I could give this 100 stars, I would. The atmosphere is so fun! Very whimsical, happy, always something to look at. Look in all the corners and you will find something in the room. The staff is so friendly! Always smiling and go the extra mile. We came in twice this week with all our kids. They were so nice to the kids. The staff gets to know the people. They’re funny too. The food was everything! Food is made to order and fresh. You can tell they homemade everything. Typically when I order a biscuit and gravy somewhere, the biscuit is dry. NOT HERE! Biscuit is very moist! Gravy was amazing quality. Everything we got was made perfectly.

Waited over 30 mins after ordering for simple egg breakfasts. Had to ask male, bearded waiter, who replied with a flippant "yes, it's coming." Well done corned beef hash not well done. Hash browns hardly browned. Wheat toast seemed like white bread and was limp, hardly toasted. Over easy eggs fine.

Worst part is staff organization, or lack of it. The boss is not in control of the operation. Way, way too much banter amongst staff and too little focus on the customer. Never asked about a coffee refill. We had to ask for our check even though we were seated at the counter with a myriad of staff constantly walking by that could see our clean plates. It makes me think the boss and staff are new to the restaurant business. The owner is losing a lot of money with the slow, inattentive service and excessive staff banter. We will not return.

Wanted to get a great breakfast in Lake Geneva last Saturday but all the usual spots were packed with hour-plus long wait times. It was then that my friend and I discovered the gem that is Grandma Vickie’s Cafe. Upon entering the establishment we were greeted by THE Grandma Vickie herself, who immediately got us seated at the counter. Excellent service from her granddaughters made our wait time for everything low, even despite it being a busy but beautiful Saturday morning. I ordered a meat lovers skillet and pancakes, which impressed me both with their great prices and amazing taste. The atmosphere was kept light the whole time by Grandma Vickie and family, who chatted with customers and made everyone feel welcome. Overall, an extremely enjoyable visit that made for a wonderful morning. Thank you Grandma Vickie and co, we’ll be back the next time we’re in Lake Geneva!

Nice people, but my breakfast was not warm and lacked flavor. It was the worst breakfast I had. Plus, it was relatively expensive. My husband ordered oatmeal with raisins, pecans, and blueberries, which came out to be 10.75, I ordered 1×2×2 and got coffee's.
That's well over $30 for a simple breakfast, which does not include tip. The pancakes were overcooked and crispy. The coffee was horrible, but it was cold, and I think the creamer was old. Our stomach was churning. There's also a surge charge for credit card payments. I really wanted to love this place, but we will not be returning.

No soup, no salad, only white or wheat bread, very small grilled cheese sandwich, enough to feed a child, not an adult, never seen a grilled cheese sandwich that small for a whopping $12. No fruit, neither fresh nor canned. No sides of veggies available. The owner talked very loudly to just one customer the entire time; she never welcomed us or talked to us, even though she had plenty of time on her hands. She did no work of any kind the entire 45 minutes we were there. Her chattery conversation with one customer took over the entire room, which subtracted from our privacy or any type of cozy feeling. The final bill was $42 for just 3 of us, and we left still feeling hungry. We frequent many restaurants often and in many surrounding towns, so we have plenty others to choose from, that greatly exceed this restaurant in food option/wide variety, cost value, atmosphere, quantity of food, customer appreciation. It was our first time here and we won't be returning. Very disappointing.
Sorry, just being truthful.
The Duck Inn, as posh and expensive as it is, would have given us much more food and value, for $50. What does this tell you?

It's a small dinner. Most of the guests (diners) know each other, witch makes for a homie type atmosphere. Great food, great service and servers. Just don't park in the Bruno's liquor store lot. He gets VERY UPSET. Unless of course your visiting his store then he's nice as can be. And make sure you ask for the Do Dad's in you hash browns.

Visually this little place ticks all the boxes. Friendly people, amazing little restaurant, and right near beautiful Lake Geneva.

Then your food arrives. Ignore the two bites I took out of my toast in the picture. This is actually what you get for $13. They couldn't even fill the tiny, in comparison to other restaurants, skillet bowl with food.

At first I thought they actually forgot to put hash browns in my skillet. To my absolute astonishment, they were actually in there, but I would estimate it was about 1/4 cup worth.

So for $13 I got 1 egg, 1 slice of cheese, 2 pieces of plain bread, 1/4 cup of hash browns, and 1/4 cup of Philly beef, onions, and green peppers.

It was a similar story for my wife and kids. $5 bucks for 1 tiny piece of bread for one kid, $5 for one 6inch pancake for my daughter, and $13 for a similar skillet for my wife.

I had the country fried steak and eggs it was one of the best I've ever had. I finished my entire plate and I usually take half home. There sausage gravy is very good. It also came with hash browns they were cook perfectly they weren't mushy I haven't had that in a long time it seems like everyone undercooks hash browns nowadays I always have to throw half away but I didn't have to here! It made my meal that much better. My son had the pancake with sprinkles that comes with bacon. Perfect amount of food for him (he's 8) the butter and syrup were good and they had multiple kinds of jelly for your toast. The only disappointment was the coffee I got super excited when I seen they had huge cups for it but then when I drank it, it was very bland/ flavorless. It was hard to drink. The staff was kind and got us anything we needed we didn't have to wait long for refills.

I love this place! This is mine and my friends go to for brunch. The staff is always so nice, the atmosphere is nice. There's little dividers between booths so you feel some privacy without feeling cutoff. It's adorably decorated also. I recommend the Philly cheese steak!

First and last time visiting! Don't plan on ever returning! This was our first visit to Lake Geneva it was absolutely beautiful the hotel was amazing! Bacon fest was fun and had great singers. We were looking for a good breakfast place to eat so we googled it and ask hotel staff where this place was located. They kindly told us and also told us about the place across the street called Simple Cafe! It was a small group of us we walked into Grandma Vickie's and immediately felt unwelcomed! We were stared at and we're not treated nicely. Some of us got up and left because it honestly felt like we weren't welcome because of our ethnicity. Hey I'm not going to force my money on you and be treated poorly so we went across the street to check it out at Simply Cafe and we were treated kindly and were welcomed. The staff was amazing and so was the food! It was awesome! We will definitely visit Lake Geneva again and Simple Cafe ! Aunt Vickie's first impressions are important, how you treat strangers are important!
