We come every year for my mother in laws birthday breakfast! We have noticed that it’s slowly going down hill. Our service was okay, our waitress seemed sad or depressed. The food was alright but not worth the price. I got the stuffed French toast, it was burned on one side and they tried to hide it. I also got a lavender latte, that was okay too. Overall it’s a pretty average place, nothing too special.

I really was hoping to love everything about this place after being so highly recommended. The food and atmosphere were good but sadly, our server Stacy swung our review in an alternate direction. She just seemed so annoyed.

If you have kiddos, I’d avoid this one. When we asked if they had a kids menu, she swiftly cut us off with a “no” and that we “clearly need more time” and walked just away. She never asked if the little one wanted a drink. We were ready to order but I guess she decided we needed more time.

The rest of our visit was much the same. Sighs and eye rolls from her. Perhaps she was having a bad day. On the other hand, maybe serving just isn’t for her.

Meh. The food was decent. The server couldn’t be bothered to say hello…. Just “Are you ready to order?” . They were only about half full. She dropped off my order , and didn’t bother to check on me until she dropped off my check, then she checked on me four times in five minutes to see if my credit card was out. I wanted some dessert and another cappuccino, apparently she couldn’t be bothered to ask, so I paid and left. I did tip, but not my usual excessive amount. I realize I was wearing a hoodie and dressed casually, but then this is a “cafe”. But here’s the thing to remember… Never underestimate people. I was a bartender in Vegas, and an area bar director for a company. I retired at 41. I may not dress like it, but I have money, and I’m usually very generous with it.

We arrived (3 of us) and were seated immediately. It took 10 minutes for a server to acknowledge us at all. We ordered everything at once at the suggestion of our server. Our appetizer came out 5 minutes later but our lattes took over 25 minutes. Which is ridiculous. She brought them to us and made no acknowledgement of the wait. She also brought my daughter the wrong one but walked away so fast we couldn't catch her. Eventually we just asked for a cup of ice and she offered to put it on ice for my daughter (appreciated but frustrating).

The food was good. While the server didn't do a good job, she was friendly and polite.

Side note, the glass fixtures over the dining tables were quite dusty with visible cobwebs handing from them, which wasn't a good aesthetic when that's hanging over my food.

Overall, it would help if a server is busy just to acknowledge the table and let them know they will get to them soon. It also helps when the entire table's drinks are forgotten to at least apologize and acknowledge it. Or maybe offer to take the messed up drink off the check?? Hopefully they can fix some of these issues in the future. Don't think we'll be back anytime soon.

*Updated*What happened to this place? They pack everyone into tables like sardines, it takes close to an hour to get mediocre food now and you're lucky if the staff is nice that day. I no longer recommend this place to anyone. Previous: This is the best place to eat breakfast in town. The service is a little slow sometimes, but the food and atmosphere is worth it. Wow- great atmosphere, food & friendly service! Great start to our anniversary weekend. Loved the Ham, Cheddar & Spinach Quiche (special of the day)! Really filling- so tasty!! The pic makes it look small- it’s not! That’s a big muffin & the quiche is a really decent size and solidly filling.

Also enjoyed the sunrise skillet & perfect hash browns.

My husband and I stopped here for the first time for lunch. To say it was amazing is an understatement. We felt like valued guests the minute we walked through the door. The atmosphere, from dining to shopping, was incredible. Our waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. We ordered a Ruben and a Bruschetta Burger with chips, which we split so we could each enjoy both. The burger was one of the best I've ever had. The menu offers a good selection with reasonable prices. I had already taken a few bites out of my burger before I deemed it necessary to take a picture and post how amazing it was. We would definitely recommend this lovely restaurant and shop!

The only solution to a visible hair on my plate was to remove it which our waitress did when l pointed it out to her....that was it .

Me and my other half visited here after moving. We were in casual clothes we didn’t mind getting a bit messy, and wanted a nice meal to treat ourselves after. The dirty looks I got from the hostess made me physically uncomfortable. She avoided eye contact even when our waitress, who ignored us for almost 25 minutes, was nowhere to be found. All the fake smiles were put on when necessary, but it was very obvious those dressed in casual attire are not welcome here.

So I don’t usually write reviews however my friends and I were here today and really enjoyed the food and the quaint environment. That being said, we paid our individual bills and enjoyed each other’s company for a bit longer. When we left we were saying our goodbyes outside the front door and suddenly our server came out and asked “if she’d done something wrong and why we didn’t tip “ . We were very surprised and astonished by this as we all tipped greater than 20% and when we said this she actually argued with us. We will not be back, this was uncalled for. Grapevine has been my go to restaurant for years. Something has changed. The last 3 times I have been there the food was very mediocre. The chicken on the pompadour was very dry and lacked flavor. The bun was dry also. Today I tried the chicken cranberry sandwich. The chicken was also dry and flavorless. Have of my sandwich had less than an ounce of chicken on it-(about 1/8” thick). The honey dressing barely covered a quarter of the sandwich and the bread was dry. I won’t be going back anytime soon.

The food was okay. The worst thing was the tables near the front. The high chairs do not give enough leg clearance for people to sit down comfortably. It was extremely uncomfortable, even for my wife who is 5’4” and is petite. The chairs need to be lowered or the tables need to be raised. It wasn’t only us; I even observed another gentleman sitting perpendicular to his wife because he could not fit his legs under the table. This needs to be fixed! It’s not only about the food! Also, the tables (again in the front) are uncomfortably close to each other. Both my wife and I felt awkward having to disturb the other guests in order to squeeze into our spots. And yes, we’re normal-sized people - It just seems like this has been overlooked and patrons are probably too embarrassed to say anything. Wouldn’t mind giving this place another shot if they fix their table/seating arrangements.

Over the years, the service has been slow at times, but the last couple of times I've dined in, they have been great. I love getting the quiche of the day, which comes with a muffin, but the sandwiches and salads are good too. They also have a wine list and great coffee.
I always stop in the connected homestead decor shop to browse at the cute decor and gifts after dining. Typically, I'm a bit younger than the average patron by a few decades - this restaurant is definitely a favorite among the retired crowd 😉

I ordered a unsweetened tea. It had a funny taste. Don't know if it was the ice or the tea itself, but I will not be ordering that again. Bruschetta was ok. Sorry I did not take a photo. It looked fantastic when served. Good atmosphere. Lot of people came in and out of the door while we were there. We will just try something different the next time to give a far chance to the place. There has to be better food then what we had on the menu. I can't see standing at the door for 15 minutes, waiting for a seat and the food not being better then what we happened to order. The lamp and “plant” basket at our table was for sale. The paintings on the wall were for sale, as well as the lights hanging above each table. Haha! The Food was “good” , I only have 2 things to say , they don’t have “kids menu “ like most of the restaurants do end price wise is little too much then what I was expecting! for 2 adults and 3 kids meals total bill was $80 .
