Excellent dining room. Our lunch was good. Made with locally sourced salad greens and vegatables. Chef made the dressing with local honey. Tasty food and dessert was lemon sorbet and bread pudding with a carmel topping. I enjoyed the quiet cool dining room. Definitely will return to this lovely place.

Our stay at the Green Fountain Inn was exceptional. We stayed in the East room and loved the little touches, like local books and cozy bedding. It was a hot, humid weekend and the room was cool and comfortable. The standout is Sal, the onsite chef, who served us delicious breakfasts with local ingredients. We had lunch at the Inn and it was a bargain for such high-quality, gourmet food. Sal was great to talk to and shared a ton of information on foraging. I would come back to Waupaca just to stay here and eat!

I travel a lot for work. This was one of the most pleasant stays I've ever had.

Jenny and Sal, the hosts are super welcoming. They make sure you have a perfect stay.

I even arrived late on a night when most restaurants were closed and even though they weren't doing dinner service that night, Sal offered to make me an incredible fine dining meal in between his other work.

The beds are comfortable and set in a amazing historic building.

Local owned business hospitality at its finest. Book it.

We checked into the Green Fountain Inn on a Friday night for a two night's stay and a tasting menu dinner for 2 that evening. Reserving our stay and dinner was an easy process. Great vegan dinner and breakfasts with Sal, and great doesn't really begin to describe it. As a host Sal is fantastic and his ability and passion for creating good meals is unmatched. My wife and I appreciate the care taken by Sal and staff to make sure our time there was comfortable. We look forward to coming again soon! Thank you.

This was a fantastic experience. Chef Sol made the best breakfasts daily. Rooms are decorated beautifully. I would stay here again anytime. The location on Main Street is accessible to everything. The fact they have WiFi is a plus. Allowed me to easily upload pictures to my family.

Staying at the Green Fountain Inn was like stepping back in time to a more gracious era, when a concierge would greet you and show you to your room, telling you all you needed to know to spend your stay comfortably. And then there was the delicious menu at dinner, expertly prepared and perfectly served. The neighborhood is great for an after dinner walk. We would stay there again whenever we are visiting Waupaca, or just drop in for a delicious meal.

What a relaxing place to have a quiet lunch with a friend. If you appreciate Victorian architecture and nostalgia from a different era - you’re going to love it here. The menu is limited but each choice is special and elegant done top notch. This is a Bed and Breakfast that is also opened to the public for dining. My visit was just for the lunch service (hours are limited as well - but very reasonable as well as the price). I had a very elegant grilled cheese and tomato soup - would recommend this selection. We sat by a window overlooking the sitting area in the garden. Parking is limited in the attached area (as to be expected as this was a home at one time). Within walking distance to our downtown and is located in our Historical District. Definitely worth the visit.

If I could give this experience more stars, I would. Sal did an applaudable job. His charisma too was something I really found delightful. Food was so good. Live lettuce was fresher than fresh. Honestly check this place out!

We had an incredible dining experience here last night. They had a 4 course dinner with options at each course. Sal (don't call me Chef) was great about describing each dish and recommended a very nice wine. A very very reasonably priced fine dinning experience.

What a incredible dining experience so close to home. Sal did a VERY awesome job making a 4 course meal that was out of this world. You can easily see the passion that was put into making our meal, and he tells you everything about each plate. High quality locally sourced ingredients. You don't need to get all dressed up, as we felt very comfortable in casual attire.
There may not be a huge menu selection but to us that didn't matter one bit, you can view the daily menu online. This is simply a experience you must have, and felt the price was totally inline with the quality and service.
Thanks for a awesome experience
Green mountain Fountain Inn, you Chef Sal is definitely a keeper!

Neat, quaint, little place to eat and sleep! They have a menu that changes with whatever is fresh and seasonal. We had the aioli garlic burger, turkey panini and quinoa vegetable salad. We sat outside and ate. The house is cool, old and decorated inside. It's also a b&b/ airbnb.

Oh my!!! The food was incredible! What a treat to have this quality of food and service in waupaca. Fabulous taste, textures...a beautiful work of art.

My sisters and I, three of us all over the age of 70, from Texas and Arkansa, stayed at the cottage for a week in September. We attended our 50+ Grand Reunion from WHS. We visited family and friends. Our stay at the cottage was like finding our own secret garden. The decor, the antiques, the linens, the comfort of the beds, safety, cleanliness and location was perfect. It truly was like being at home away from home. A shout out to Cindy and Adrianna and their amazing hospitality in getting us settled. We truly felt like we had come home. BTW we had road tripped it as well. Thank you so much. Linda, Marie and Patsy Will be back again.πŸ’ž

We stayed in the cottage so can't comment on the rooms although the owner did show us around and explained about the history and the extensive project that it took to get this place ready for guests. The cottage was rustic but comfortable and could easily accommodate 4 people. The kitchen is small and we did not eat in so it didn't matter.|We had breakfast every morning on the house despite being informed that it normally isn't included because our unit had a kitchen. The breakfast was delicious in a very relaxed atmosphere. The town is easily within walking distance and for those looking for another dinner option the Simpson is a great Wisconsin type Supper Club.

I felt it was a cozy dinning area, and the food was absolutely heavenly! My new favorite spot in Waupaca. Totally worth the trip.
I wouldn't recommend staying at the actual inn itself...but the food is worth the visit! I can honestly say, I love the Chef, and the food I could see myself coming out weekly for, but I'd never stay over night at this Inn again. It was honestly the worst bed and breakfast I have ever stayed at...apart from the food, which was their only saving grace.
It was beyond dirty...every dish was not just dirty...but difficult to scrub. Although this cottage I opted for, did accommodate alot of people, and had a kitchenette...breakfast was not included. The whole experience itself was uncomfortable and solidified, I'd never be returning to stay as a guest.
I wish I could find this amazing food closer by, but I will absolutely still be ordering it often. Kiss to the Chef!πŸ€ŒπŸ’―

Was a very neat place, like stepping into *Grandma's * house. Our hostess was a lovely lady. Food was quite pricey. Four of us ordered the *soup & salad* , main reason was the soup, sounded delicious. When we got our soup, it was a total different kind, never was told this ahead, never said anything until asked what kind of soup it was, THEN we were told the * good* soup ran out.

This was our first meal out after the lockdown. So glad we took the 30 minute drive. We started with beet salad which was fresh and delicious. The house salad with the entrees was a delightful flavor combination. The trout and lamb were both cooked to perfection. We ordered two desserts even though we were full and did not regret it. The mango sorbet is one of the best things I have had in my life. We were also given excellent wine recommendation. Relaxed yet elegant atmosphere with fine dining. I can’t wait to go back and to bring friends.

Awesome first dinner out during pandemic.

My wife and I had dinner at Green Fountain Inn on March 6. My wife was a little anxious, however, we had been assured that we had a private dining room as did the other two seatings that evening.

We started our meal with a bottle of Marcel Dubois 2017 Vouvray at a very nominal price followed by Brie Quesadiilla topped with apple, arugula salad appetizer. The quesadilla was paper thin with just the right amount of Brie and so, so yummy.

My wife’s entree consisted of crab cakes on potato corn chowder with shrimp nestled in under the crab. The crab cakes were encrusted with unobtrusive panko crumbs and appeared to be perched on top of the chowder without any moisture seeping into the very thin crusted coating. The chowder gave off an aroma of freshly steamed vegetables which melted in your mouth.

I chose the Big River Family Farms trout accompanied by Quinoa, apple and fennel. I can’t recall having such delectable trout steaks with crusted skin. This would be a must have for my return. As the finale, my wife and I shared the flourless chocolate cake with homemade ice cream.

Chef Sal made us feel quite comfortable with attention to the timely serving of each selected item in addition to serving the other two seatings. He peppered our conversation with tidbits of his career to the point that we were very familiar with a local restaurant he had serviced during his time in our hometown.

This is definitely a must visit place to enjoy a grand meal. Thank you for the memory of our first meal out during the pandemic.

We had a fabulous, safe, wonderful meal at Green Fountain Inn created by Chef Sal and beautifully presented by him. During Covid, safety was our number one concern and Chef Sal did everything in his power to ensure we were comfortable and safe. Separate rooms for dining areas and mask wearing enhanced our experience. Portions were extremely generous and served piping hot. We will return before long.

Way more affordable than the Ramada and few other choices we had when we decided on Friday to boat through the Waupaca Chain O Lakes on Saturday. That’s why we picked the Green Fountain Inn. ||Way more interesting and hospitable than any other place would have been. That’s why we suggest you give it a try. ||It’s one of the grand old houses that were built when Waupaca boomed by cutting timber and shipping lumber to rebuild Chicago after the great 1872 fire. In fact this was the house and office of the town’s first doctor. The building next door was the original hospital. ||Of the three guest rooms upstairs, we had the East Room which I think is the largest and the only one with en-suite toilet, shower, and lave. The morning sun poured into our room and made the period wallpapers, drapery, and furniture glow. ||Included was a nice continental breakfast, prepared by Salvatore, the same chef who served us a fabulous dinner the night before. ||Sal also is the guy who checked us in. Eleanor is the server, baker, and person who took our payment. Both were very friendly, eager to please, interesting and helpful with information about the area. ||You’d like them and the Green Fountain Inn. |

A friend and I booked two seats for the Green Fountain Inn's holiday tea. A buffet table with small bites which included cookies were satisfying. There was plenty of good tea, steeped to perfection, poured table side, with a pot left to share. The weather cooperated for the hour drive to arrive, and we sat with some local women who gave us more insights into local cuisine. The Inn recently hosted a Wine Tasting that I'm sure was fun.||And they are open for lunch on certain days of the week. THEIR BAKERY was the real find. I took home a loaf of bread which was devoured in no time. Have not stayed overnight, but they are lovely hosts, no matter if you go for lunch, a special tasting, or stay overnight.

Absolutely charming place to stay. The staff are very kind and accommodating. The neighborhood is quiet at night and an easy half mile walk to downtown Waupaca. They have a fabulous breakfast in the morning, usually something like a veggie fritatta and homemade toast and jam, orange juice and coffee. It's fun to poke around the parlor and look at all the knick knacks and antique bits and bobs. It feels like staying at your very hospital great aunt's house. Dinner served only Fridays and Saturdays - don't miss it! The Inn is comfortable, quiet and good value, Attractive inside and out. Friendly and very professional hospitality. Variety of accommodations. Convenient to cross state travel or as destination with easy walking to restaurants, shopping and nature. Waupaca is charming town and beautiful area.

Reservations for rooms and for meals are a recommended. There are times when there is no one there. This is not a place to be in a hurry. We find this all to be a pleasure and are looking forward to our next visit.
