Called numerous times to order a pizza. No answer. I drove to the restaurant to order it. Restaurant was slow only 4 tables. Stood for almost 5 min with no one acknowledging me. Finally the bartender said what do you want. I ordered my pizza and it was good tasting, but tough crust for thin crust.

Seems to many of us that something is going on with our once favorite destination. Top selling beer and liquor options are out of stock or "unavailable" food quality has become inconsistent at best, bar staff is obviously tired of answering for the management / ownership who are obviously checking out! Sad!! In response to the owners reply, a health issue did sideline them. Get well soon! But this was our 3rd undesirable visit in a row, we left, several guests at The Wild Turkey, shared our feelings. It would be different if it wasn't an hour+ round trip. We understand your challenges, other Conover favorites have also found themselves out of favor for different reasons, but similar results. Hands on is important, let us know when you're back to it! If you are headed down 45 in Conover, Wisconsin. You should give this place a try. We travel in a 45 RV and have a hard time finding a place to stop. This was great stop for us. Quality of food was great and the server were kind as well.

Came across this gem during a weekend of 4-wheeling. The service from the bartender was top notch, a double was actually a double. The food was even better, our group started with the cabin bites, which you absolutely have to try! Fish Tacos, saturday prime rib & prime rib sandwich were all incredible. We were camping in Conover from Milwaukee area and our elderly neighbor back home highly recommended the Log Cabin when we told him where we were headed. We were not disappointed! We called in an order for pizza and mozzarella sticks and they were ready in 20 min. I'm disappointed my husband said we couldn't get the 28" pizza because A) i want to see a pizza that huge and B) the pizza was amazing. The mozzarella sticks were well worth the price...not like little baby sticks, but big chunky logs 😂 even though we just popped in for a pick up, staff was friendly and the place seemed really cozy. We will definitely be back next time we're up here!

This is by far our favorite pizza in the northwoods. They can have crispy, cracker crust all the way to deep dish. It’s all delicious. The cheesy garlic bread is also a favorite. Anna is the best waitress and makes a perfect brandy old fashioned. I recommend making reservations for dinner as it is a busy spot. Everything is homemade and worth the slightly longer wait.

This is, without any doubt in my mind, the best Chicago style pizza in the Northwoods. It is just as good as anything you can get in Chicago. The crust is amazing, super flavorful and tender. I've been dining in and taking out at the Log Cabin for over 30 years and it has never been as good as it is now under the current ownership. I recently ordered a large thin crust pepperoni pizza to go and it was made right away and made to perfection by Jeremiah who is well known to the local restaurants in the area as one of the best pizza chefs in the northwoods. The sauce was delicious and the cheese and pepperoni were high quality. Definitely not the cheapest ingredients like the kinds papa johns and domino's use... The Log Cabin has always been known for good pizza but this one was especially delicious and my family and I loved every square piece of it. Thanks again Greenhills Log Cabin for another delicious Northwoods meal!

We have been coming here for years and we were pretty disappointed with our experience this week, mainly the service. They do not answer their phone to place a pick up order (I tried last Saturday and again tonight). We decided to go in to order and wait for our pizza at the bar. The bartender was oblivious to new customers and those who needed another drink. We were only able to get one drink in the span of 1 hour. The food is good but I'm not sure it's worth the wait or hassle of the service. They also charge $1.25 for a carry out pizza boxes and for other sides such as marinara... Not sure we will be back.

We have been here many times and the food is definitely delicious. This time we had the fish sandwich and a bourbon burger. The fish was a little dry for our liking and the burger with bourbon sauce was quite yummy. The homemade fries were hot and fantastic. There were 2 other tables (parties of 5-7) seated before us who ordered and already had their appetizers and drinks. We ordered then another couple were seated about 5-10 mins after us. It took a long time to get our food about 40-45 mins. The 2 parties received their food (pizzas, fish fry) and the couple after us received their food (fish fry) before we did. We had a different server than the other tables not sure if that play a part or not. Our server checked on us a couple of times and when I asked how much longer for our food she said, its because of your burger you wanted it med-well I'll go check now. A few mins she came back with our food. Honestly, I don't think it was my burger just not enough help in the kitchen which seems to be a common theme in the Northwoods. Aside from the long wait everything was good!

I was told by a local that this was the best place for pizza in the area. We ordered this Chicago style pizza which they said would take an hour to bake. We ate an appetizer to stall as well. The pizza was good but over done in that the crust was slightly blacked and you couldn’t cut through the crust as it was pretty crunchy on the bottom. We mentioned this but our server didn’t care.
My reason for the low stars had everything to do with service. The bar tender and waitstaff were not friendly. They served out items but seemed cold and aloof. We played pull tabs and they seemed annoyed to assist with cashing them. I won’t return there. Everyone in our group commented on lack of friendly service.

The Log Cabin was recommended to us so we thought we’d give it a try.
Was greeted by a rude hostess who said if we didn’t have reservations we were to sit *over there*. Smaller narrow stuffy and hot side room. AC was not on yet being mid- May; so we opened one of the windows by our table.
Big mistake.
Hostess:/ maybe owner came over and slammed the window shut with out saying a word.
So okay; we ordered our food, the pizzas take time and we were okay with that. Still hot and stuffy in that room so we opened another window. We were then scolded by hostess/owner with her saying: we need to open windows the correct way. Excuse me?
She then said it’s against state regulations to open windows with out screens on them. But yet while walking thru the parking lot to the entrance of the restaurant; the back door of the kitchen was wide open! No screen. Maybe the northern Wisconsin bugs only come thru windows and not doors. 😳
We finally got our dinner. Pizza was good, not great. I ordered a cup of soup and a salad. Soup was cold, literally. I asked our waitress to send it back and she rolled her eyes at me, took my bowl and brought it back and brought out another that was very hot. Soup and salad were average at best. Our daughter treated us to our dinner and when the waitress came to pick up the check my daughter said: here’s cash, you can keep the rest. It was well over a 20% tip. The waitress’s reply was *okay*.
Okay??!! Really? How rude. Not even a thank you.
Needless to say if we want pizza when we travel to the northwoods again, we will be buying frozen’s at Pick n Save & serve it kindly to ourselves with our kitchen windows open.😉

About 40 minutes later the bartender said the pizza’s were running slow because a large group had ordered shortly before us. We understood and said we were in no rush. 30 minutes later our first pizza was brought to us quite burnt and not wanting to wait another 30-40 minutes we thought maybe it’s not as bad as it’s looks so we kept it. Two small slices were eaten when the second burnt pizza was brought out. We refused it and ordered a burger to go. We sent the first pizza back but kept the four center pieces after they refused to credit us for at least half the pizza. $33 and an hour and 40 minutes for a hamburger and a throw away pizza. The bartender tried help but was overruled. To bad they might have been good pizzas.

Looking for a pizza place on International Pizza & Beer Day - harder than you think in the Northwoods! But Log Cabin nailed it! The tenders were hand-cut & lightly breaded. Mozz logs were also lightly breaded (and I prefer wonton, not breading, and these were still delish!). Thin crust pizza was just the way I like - light, flaky, crispy. Absolutely love the food here! My friends ordered the deep dish pizza and were amazed. It does take an hour to get it it so be patient. I had a side salad with all the fixings. It is a large salad for a side. I usually order it with the warm homemade chips with Parm and dip (dilish)! The owner came out and talked to us for about a half hour. It was such a pleasure to see a business owner mingle with guests.

Log Cabin may have the name and history, however our eyes were opened up to Wild Turkey after our table was given away last evening 7/8. Told an hour wait, came back 45 minutes later and were told your party left and they couldnt find us, so they moved on, basically told us tough luck. We did leave and went for a 45 minute walk as our party of 8 was taking up the whole front area and it was 90 degrees + in the entry area, so figured it was best to leave and take a walk. Just posting this as there are alternatives to Log Cabin and the wait. As we found out last evening sometimes just walking across the street is worth it and opens new ideas.

Our first visit to this restaurant was amazing. Due to it's perfect location along Hwy 45, and the Sno Eagles snowmobile trail 3 North, this place was packed at 5 pm, and only got worse, as the evening went on. Now we know why. We were "sardine stuffed" in the second dining room area, but staff was efficient, and nothing short of amazing in their service. Drinks were served timely, and all meals at our table were fabulous. I recommend the Mushroom & Bleu Burger, my husband had the Mushroom & Swiss Burger, with fries, but next time we are ordering the highly recommended prime rib sandwich, which seems to have somewhere close to 3/4 of a pound of tender & juicy meat! A guaranteed doggy bag for tomorrow's lunch. We want to try the pizza, at some point, as well.

We had our employee party here last night and our experience was nothing short of amazing. We tried quite a few appetizers, everything was awesome. Sandwiches and Chicago pizza were amazing! Our server and bartender were excellent! Prompt and efficient (and we're a needy group of industry workers) Seriously, this place did not disappoint. It's a super laid back environment with an awesome Northwoods vibe. If you're in a rush, this probably isn't the place for you. The quality of food they are producing here takes time and damn, it was worth it. Hats off to the staff for providing us with such a great night. We'll be back time and time again! Five of us stopped in around 3pm on a Sunday, looking forward to a hot meal and cold drinks after a canoe trip in the nearby Sylvania Wilderness. There was one other couple in the bar but it was otherwise empty. The man behind the bar was extremely rude. We asked for a couple Bloody Mary’s and he asked where the women were. We were poured chasers but after 30 minutes, still no drinks. The whole time we were there, he was bickering with the female employees about some drain problem they were having with their ice container. I asked what the soup of the day was, and he told me “it’s hard to find good help” and walked away. So…no soup? Eventually he started giving us a hard time about how our vehicle (hauling a trailer loaded with canoes) was taking up too many spots in his parking lot. His completely empty overflow lot, with one vehicle in his regular lot. So after a half hour of waiting for drinks in an empty bar, and never having been asked for our food order, enough was enough and we took off. Such an awkward experience that the waitress apologized to us on the way out for his behavior. I can’t imagine how a bartender (owner?) would chase out his only customers like this. Can’t say we’ll be back, and this was our usual spot to hit after the annual canoe trip. Maybe it will come back under new ownership after this guy bankrupts the place due to his horrible service. Sorry I can’t give zero stars on this one. To the female employees: literally everywhere is hiring right now - you don’t have to work in that toxic environment!
