We were excited to try Greystone Castle tonight and looked forward to a good meal. Unfortunately, what we experienced was deeply upsetting. We were next in line for a table, but the waitress chose to seat a white couple who arrived after us. It was hard not to feel that race played a role in that decision, as we are not white.

No explanation was offered, no apology—just a cold dismissal. Whether intentional or not, this kind of treatment is unacceptable and incredibly hurtful. We left feeling ignored, disrespected, and unwelcome.

Greystone Castle may have good food, but if you care about basic decency and equal treatment, think twice before supporting this place.

Nice little dive bar. Half is a bar and half is sit down eating. I absolutely loved all the taxidermy decor! There was no wait time to sit, service was quick and friendly, and wait time for food was not very long. My husband and I both got a prime rib sandwich which was absolutely delicious but huge! If you aren't starving or normally don't eat a lot, split one with someone. The onion rings are gigantic and yummy and cheese curds were good too. Very much recommend!

Not really impressed. Went in for some food, we got the meaty basket, which had a handful of corn dogs, flappers, nuggets & fries, and was $15. Then we got chicken strips (4 of them) which was $12 with no fries. We also got a perch plate, the potato salad looked like someone chopped up potatoes, threw some seasoning salt on them & sent it on its way. The rye bread was dry as dry can be. The perch was GREASY & the tartar for said perch looked like it had snot mixed in. Only positive about the whole experience was that the Busch I had was cold & the coleslaw was good. Wouldn’t recommend. I’ve been telling people to go there when they are in door county because I’ve been a bar customer, never had a bad time. We left there thinking that we would have been better off waiting to eat.

One of our favorite places when we come to door county, unfortunately after today’s service we won’t be returning! Food was great, both my little & I got diet RC, was flat as heck, & tasted like cinnamon ( kinda like fireball was put into it) upon telling the waitress, she was rude about the situation, talking very loud about it at the bar, & being very unprofessional about the situation.
Hopefully when you go, you don’t get the same waitress! Food 10, service -10 !!

We used to get the prime rib sandwich here, but the last time we got it, it was tough and not at all like what we had previously. So last time we ate here we were gun shy on the prime rib and got a hamburger. It wasn't bad, but you could tell it was a frozen patty. We keep finding little "hole-in-the-wall" gems on our travels and this one is high on my list of "Gonna Go Back Again." Don't let your initial impression of the "Castle" scare you away. The building is nothing to look at, but that's not what counts. Inside the walls are a menagerie of wild game and antlers. Our server was Hanna, she was fast, courteous and checked on us a couple times during our meal. They claim to have the best prime rib sandwich in the world. I totally agree! We had the Prime Rib sandwich, I guess I should say we split the prime rib sandwich because it was a slab of prime rib about an inch and a half thick and cooked just right. Along with it we had the in-house breaded mushrooms which were also BIG! (see picture).

I recently visited Greystone Castle at 8 N Madison Ave, in Sturgeon Bay, WI. Wow, what a great experience. When I think of a bar in Wisconsin this has to be it..it's full of animal mounts and plenty of Packer memorabilia..I happen to show up for a Packer game and was treated like a local..I enjoyed the shot every time the Packers scored..I ended up going there a couple of times. A must go.

This place was slammed when we went Saturday night. The girls that were working, worked their tails off. I have to assume they were short staffed because it took forever to be seated and served. That said, they were very friendly, sat as soon as a spot became available, and took our order right away. It took a long time to get our food but we enjoyed some college football and cocktails and checked out the taxidermy. I had a burger that was well worth the wait, and the couple next to us had a prime rib sandwich that looked out of this world. Given the reviews, I expected more, but I was utterly disappointed. The prime rib sandwich was under done (ordered medium rare, received rare) and chewy with little to no seasoning. The bread turned to mush in my hands, and overall it was very unappetizing. The au jus sauce tasted good but was not enough to save the dish. My partner got the peel and eat shrimp and the salmon burger. The shrimp were completely unseasoned and seemed to have been freezer burned prior to cooking as there were black and grey spots on the meat and shell. The salmon burger was okay, but there was barely any lettuce on it, and was also unseasoned. I do not see myself going back.

At first glance, you may dismiss this place and move on. Trust me....go in and eat! It has a lot of local charm and flavor. This is one of my parents' favorite places, and they live in town. The food was the best part of this place! Definitely did not expect all of the mounted deer, bear, fish, etc on the walls but it made me feel like I was back in my small hometown. My wife an I go out to eat way too much . We were driving through town and decided to eat here . I am 60 years old and probably have reviewed less than five restaurants in my life.The food at this restaurant is so poor and really a total waste of money . I had the fish fry . The first piece of fish came out with the meal. The waitress said she would come back later with the second piece.
The coating was something I have never had on any fish before. It was unbelievably hard. Almost no fish inside . Culver’s has better fish. A matter fact, everywhere else I’ve eaten has better fish.
My wife ordered the prime rib sandwich. It was a healthy amount of prime rib. It has been cooked and reheated lacks flavor .and full of fat She left most of it behind. I don’t know how this place stays in business with the poor quality of food in which they offer.

Great food, service in your typical Wisconsin tavern setting. Had the prime rib sandwich for $19. What arrived was a piece of prime rib perfectly cooked, about an inch and a quarter thick on two pieces of Texas toast. The steak would have cost $28 to $30 by itself at another dinner club. Also ordered a combo basket which included deep fried mushrooms, onion rings and cheese curds. Excellent breading and perfectly fried. Was unable to eat all of the combo and half of the sandwich. Oh well, I have a great snack for later.

With a little confused about how to get service here when we walked in, because this place is a bar. It is not a castle, and we knew that, but it's also not really a restaurant until you sit down and get served. When you walk in it's definitely a local bar. The food was really good. I would recommend the burger here all day, to anyone. Once we got service and figure it out how it worked (you have to go grab menus yourself and then sit down and someone will come over to you), things were great. We did not have the most attentive server, but it was very busy and when we needed something she did bring it. Overall I can definitely recommend the food but the environment was just not what we were looking for that evening. It is a local bar, it's busy, it's loud, and the game will be on in the background. If that's what you're looking for this is the spot for you!

Had a great time with friends. Bartender Luke was full of jokes and fun. Food was really, really good. Our friends are there Friday night and wanted to come back. Thanks to all the staff. Wonderful group of people working together.
