We were looking forward to some ice cream and had never been here before. They do not give out samples, or so we were told so I did not try the Mackinac Island fudge. The employees were short tempered and we each had a root beer float. The ice cream that was in our root beer floats was crystallized and clearly quite old.
The picnic tables outside were absolutely filthy. We will never come back.

The ice cream was fine, but the older lady that was working there today was very rude to my elderly aunt. She was oddly impatient and when I told her she was being very rude, she rolled her eyes and sarcastically said she was sorry she’s so rude. It was unfortunate. Everyone else in Door Co (including the young girl working at the same time at Grumpy’s ) was wonderful!

The people who were working here were older and really nice, but the prices here are just outrageous. My daughter got a single scoop, which was $5.50, and then she wanted a sprinkle cone, which was an extra $1.50. $7 dollars for an ice cream cone?!? Even $5.50 would be too much. We just can't come back to a place so expensive, friendly people or not. 😢

We go to grumpys every year on our vacation as it was our favorite ice cream place. Not anymore! Normally we are greeted with smiles and politeness. This time the worker was on the verge of rude. They used to let my kids try a flavor before committing to the the insane price of $7/cone. When my kids wanted to try one of the more unusual flavors, the worker said they couldn't sample it. They also used to let you have 2 different flavors, even when you got a single scoop. Not anymore. And their prices went up. $21 for three cones and terrible service. We will go back to dippys where they let us sample and you get much more for your money.

Great experience. We went into Grumpys because they had good reviews, but as soon we we walked in we saw why. A friendly older gentleman greeted us and when he found out that we had come to tour the area, he sat down with a map and marked down a bunch of tourist hotpsots he thought we would enjoy, and gave us directions. After telling us a bit about the area and the local landmarks, he gave us a free sample of freshly made kettle corn 😋😋. We then bought icecream and some kettle corn. They were both phenomenal and I would highly recommend.

We happened across Grumpy's as we were walking around Egg Harbor. It was one of the BEST experiences we had while in Door County. Not only was the root beer float the best we've had, but the owners were there and came out to talk to us. So friendly, and they made us feel welcome and appreciated our business! We especially loved the free sample of popcorn/caramel corn! We ended up buying some and Fudge! All were so delicious! Loved that the root beer float was in a frosty mug! I’m feeling Grumpy after eating at Grumpy’s. The prices are very high for small portions of ice cream. Ordering felt rushed and didn’t have time to peruse our options. The ice cream was very delicious and I would recommend. The only thing I did not care for was that one of the workers was very pushy and you could just tell she wanted you out of her store.
