Hachi Hachi is one of the gems you can find by going outside of Madison. It is owned by the same people that run the Fuji restaurant in Middleton and the food is every bit as tasty. Always fresh as can be and quickly served.The service is very exceptional and the prices are a little bit less - as you would expect - from being in a little town like Brooklyn. Our favorites are the Yum Yum Roll and the Highland Roll!

The service was good, and the food would have been good for the price except that we got double charged. Long story below, but in short, be very mindful of your bill.

This started out as an honest mix-up. We visited on 6/22. My wife went up and bought some sushi from the counter and paid for it there at around the same time that the bill was getting printed out for the table (which included the counter sushi as well). We realized that we had paid for the counter sushi twice after I had already paid the combined bill, so I went up to the register to get it sorted out. We got it all figured out and I paid for just the table food on the tablet at the register and they removed the bill that included both. So far so good. Unfortunately, the full bill that was brought to the table initially ($110 with tip) was then added to the stack of other receipts by the person working the register. I was afraid that it would get processed again with all the other receipts at the end of the day, so I asked to have that receipt back so it wouldn’t get processed again. The person at the cashier told me not to worry about it. Well, exactly what I was afraid of ended up happening and we got charged for the table food ($93.67), the counter order ($14.92), as well as the order that should have been removed that included both ($110 due to slightly different tip amounts). I disputed the $110 charge through my credit card and explained the situation in writing through that. I thought written communication would be easier than calling since obviously it is a bit messy to follow. About a month later they responded to the dispute saying that we hadn’t complained at the time and therefore hadn’t followed the return policy. This is not accurate since we had in fact talked to them about it and had it resolved, but then they processed the bill again.

Again, not a bad place. Just be very mindful of the bill so you don’t get charged >$100 extra like we did.

We were at the restaurant yesterday.
Service - I didn't like the service. We waited a long time for the waiter to place our order. We didn't get our beer until we got our main order. Personally, I didn't like that the waiter was cleaning the floors, walking back and forth, going out to smoke, going to the kitchen, and came out with food left on his face. And I just really hope that he cleans his hands as often as he does all these activities.
Food - the ingredients are good, the sushi was normal. BUT! 3 sushi rolls out of 4 were falling apart, it was hard to eat them with chopsticks. For special sushi that costs $14-15 - this is unacceptable in my opinion.
Atmosphere - clean inside, but there was no beautiful design. It is clear that I do not go to a restaurant for the design, but the atmosphere there was not for me.
Spent over $100 and I am a little disappointed. I would not go back. The waiter and cook did a poor job on July 12, 2025.

Dining out has become less about the food and more about the overall experience. Unfortunately, our Father's Day gathering at Hatchi Hatchi Sushi and Habatichi was overshadowed by a single waiter who seemed irritated by our group of eight. His attitude was off-putting, and his service was zero stars. I urge the owners to address this issue, which could drive away customers. He is clearly not cut out to be a waiter. At first, it seemed that he was trying to be funny, but his humor crossed the line. When we asked if they offered a sample sushi platter, he said he could run down to Walmart to get a plate big enough for us. Then we asked about a salad dressing we had a while ago, he said he's only been there 2 months. He gave us no time to look over the giant menu. It seemed that he was paying us to be there. If I go back, I will not want to encounter him, so I don't think I’ll be returning!

We had a bad experience tonight, service was very poor. Normally there is a woman who runs the place and it’s always a great experience. Unfortunately we didn’t get most of our appetizers and none of our drinks besides water. The two guys that were “working” were sitting with a table while customers instead of making sure people were getting their food and drinks. We ended up taking our rolls home because we were there well over an hour and hadn’t gotten them yet… they were not busy just unfortunate bad service. Like I said the woman who is normally there, runs that place very well and food always is done right, they need to give her a raise!

Cute sushi place with a contemporary cafe vibe. We’ve tried about half of the specialty rolls on the menu and we love them all. Punches well above their weight for quality and flavor/texture profile, especially for a rural/suburban area. Would hold their own more-than-fine competing against sushi places in Madison. But we hope they never move because we love not have to drive so far for decent sushi.

We like taking it out, but we also love the presentation of the rolls… something you only get to fully see when you dine in.

It is pricey. It’s worth it for the quality but this is the one thing keeping us from going here much more often than we do.

I'm honestly really disappointed, I've never had a bad experience before this. I ordered online, and was overcharged for an item I ordered to start with, no big deal that's an easy fix.
But then there comes the actual role, let me tell you, I LOVE sushi. I live for it. I have never had any I didn't like, but tonight, I got a tuna roll, AND 2 tuna sushi pieces that are going to go untouched.
Which sucks because tuna is my favorite, and it's never been like this from them before. The sushi piece was SO tough to eat, I had to spit it out.
And my roll was so...off. I don't even know how to explain it, it was really hard to swallow the one piece I did eat.

I'm so sorry to put this review but after having my partner go in to fix an issue 3 times prior to this one, I wasn't going to go back in for a 4th.

Today, I came in with a a group of 14 for a birthday lunch. They were able to accommodate us right away and our server was absolutely outstanding! We went on Thursday for an early lunch. It is less than a 15 minute drive from Evansville. It is located in a small mall businesses building and right next door to the bank. It has a comfortable, clean urban feel without being pretentious. We were seated quickly and the overall service was very nice. Everyone had a smile. The food was fresh and delicious. We are "older" and knowingly ordered more than we could eat for the moment because we wanted to try a few different apps and entrees. The prices are reasonable and reflect the quality of food, preparation and simple presentation. Beer and wine prices are very reasonable. I expect that we will be regular patrons from now on. I love that you found your home in lil ole Brooklyn wi! Myself and extended family love that a little piece of Japan has fallen in our laps!!! They even please the few in my family whom don't eat sushi/sashimi with their habachi. So incredibly polite and Authentic! No need to travel into Madison for sushi anymore!!! For a truelly authentic experience eat in resturant! Just awsome!!! Wish i took pictures but we got the party boat for 3 adults and could barely eat half.. it was amazing! Also tried the Shrimp Tempura appetizer which was excellent but didn't think it should be served with french fries and a sweet chili sauce. I suggest the traditional soy and ginger dipping sauce. The prices were great, only 14 bucks for a whole plate of 3 sushi rolls. The sushi rolls looks kind of small at first, but they were excellent and really filling. Honestly it might have been that the plate was just too big and made the portions look smaller. The atmosphere was great, it felt welcoming and clean. There weren’t a lot of Japanese culture references, so there wasn’t much culture shock that is typical for ethnic food places like this. To top it all off, they served us all a free drink that was quite good. They asked for our feedback on it as they were trying to perfect it before putting it on the menu. I really appreciated that gesture, as it shows how committed they are to creating an awesome menu that resonates with their community. Overall a perfect 5 stars, tons of food options, great food, even better prices and lots of love in the staff and atmosphere.

We are so happy to have Hachi Hachi in Brooklyn! We did take out ahead and had sushi, crab rangoons and hibachi. All delicious and staff was very friendly. Will be returning soon! Highly recommend.

Amazing gem of a place on the north side of Brooklyn! They just opened but I tried the steak and chicken and it was outstanding! It’s a great blend of meat, vegetables and seasoning that isn’t over the top. Definitely would recommend
