Very nice atmosphere. Beautiful view. Service was very good. Oysters were so fresh and delicious. Tuna tarter was very good. I had filet and African lobster tail, both cooked to perfection. Normally when I get lobster, its always overcooked. Not this time, not here, was tender and done just the way I like it. Very satisfied with our visit and can't wait to go back. Excellent service!!! I ordered the Fundy Salmon, a tasty dish with a range of awesome flavors. I’m a mashed potato girl, and Harbor House makes the best. Try the roasted chicken, and make sure you get extra peppercorn blah blah blah sauce (forgot the name) because it’s the highlight of the dish. Make your reservation soon or just sit at the Oyster Bar and watch the chefs work their magic.

We had a memorable birthday and anniversary anniversary celebration evening. We were seated at a window table with view of the water. My boyfriend and I decided to try Harbor House for the first time as a dining experience we were both looking forward to. Upon arrival, everything seemed pleasant, the atmosphere was nice, and our server was friendly. However, things changed once our food arrived.

We both ordered the filet with scallops. I requested mine with mushrooms. When my plate came, I noticed right away that the steak was very small and to the point of being dry. My boyfriend’s steak was cooked slightly better, but both lacked seasoning, there was little to no salt or flavor at all, which made the dish quite disappointing for the price point and reputation of the restaurant.

The scallops were also concerning. They had a strong fishy smell, which usually indicates they aren’t fresh. We each received only two scallops, and after tasting one, neither of us could finish the second. The sides weren’t much better, my green beans were underwhelming, and I didn’t even eat them. My boyfriend barely touched his mashed potatoes and green beans as well.

When we spoke to our server, she kindly offered to replace the two scallops, but given the quality, we kindly declined. We left without making a big scene about it. We kindly paid for the meal, though we left feeling disappointed and unsatisfied.

For a restaurant with such a strong reputation and beautiful setting, the food quality that evening did not meet expectations. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as the experience was not what we anticipated for a fine dining establishment.

Went there for our 18th anniversary dinner. Appetizers, calamari and tuna tartat were ok. The kids had filet mignon off the kids menu. Their steaks were very over done. We ordered medium/well but they came at beef jerky well. They couldn't do noodles for my daughter so she had to go with fries. My lobster bisque was actually a seafood bisque but was charge accordingly. Would have been nice to know there was lobster bisque, would have ordered something else. Wife's Branzino was pitiful at best. Highly under seasoned and overly dissapointing. My burger was ordered medium and came in at very well done. I could think of many other places that would have been far more inline with the $270 we paid.

To overall begin with the restaurant itself is beautiful, inside outside, has great potential! We drove 1 hr 25 minutes to eat here for the all you can eat crab. Food was really good we got the crab, shrimp, burgers. The service was TERRIBLE!! When I tell you bad, it was bad. I was a former server. There was a part of our dinner experience that we didn’t see our server for 25 minutes(yes, I counted). And that was just the longest time there were other times it was 10-15 minutes. We constantly needed refills and 3 of our meals were all you can eat so we needed refills on that too. Horrible!
Then the WORST part was when we got the bill. The menu for the all you can eat crabs was extremely misleading. For anyone considering going here; PLEASE ask your server for the market price for the crab at that time. Really disappointed! We won’t ever be back.

Went to celebrate my birthday and received a birthday card from the Harbor House. Was downhill from that point. Waiter poured water all over my elderly mother, barely an apology. Then disappeared and had the assistant waiter take care of us. Service was spotty, food was mediocre, high prices and no comp for having to eat in wet clothes. Won’t be back. The view was amazing, but the drinks weren’t good enough to even suggest just having a drink there to enjoy the view. There must be a better place to enjoy the gorgeous lake view.

We came here to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary. the four people at hostess station were not friendly at all and totally useless. We arrived at 5:20 and gave them our name for a 6:00 reservation. They couldn't find our reservation. After 5 minutes I grabbed my phone to show them my conformation and then she said, oh is it under James and not Jim. You really couldn't figure that out? The bar and the seats by the windows on the left we all taken. She directed us over on the right side and said we will come get you at 6:00. We waited 15 minutes and no one ever came to our table. We walked back up there and asked if we could get service. One said let me go check for you I really don't know. In the back there were only 4 tables were being used. We said we aren't here for happy hour, can we just be seated. She said let me check and 5 minutes finally came back and took us to a table. We should have walked out but we know how good the food is here. Crystal and her partner were taking care of us. They did a great job and again the food was excellent. Unfortunately, the mood for our anniversary night was already ruined. Thanks.

Short staffed, could have been a bad Monday but we had to wait for a reserved table for 3. Once seated it took nearly 10 mins just to get the water glasses filled on a humid day in the mid-80s. Not a good start. Ordered up Lobster Bisque, steak and a drink from the bar. Had to remind the waitress of the drink after the Bisque came. I don’t like leaving reviews like this, any place can have an off night, but I was so disappointed by our experience here. They did have a couple of big tables going so that could have been a factor but service was really slow. Like we had started to discuss how much more time we should give them while waiting for the first touch point and water. Drinks weren’t served until we reminded them when the entrees came. And perhaps I just ordered the wrong thing or didn’t understand how it would be prepared but the olive oil mashed/fluffed potatoes just wept pool of oil on the plate. On the positive side, one person in our party loved the oysters and the linguine with clams. And the location is beautiful.

It short, an expensive meal that didn’t live up to service or food hopes.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary on the beautiful outdoor patio in comfortable chairs and stunning views of the water and the city skyline. The food was excellent! We are gluten free and the wait staff was very knowledgeable about what menu items were gluten free, gluten friendly. The filet mignon was cooked as requested (med. well). It cut like butter with no pink inside which is how we prefer it. The hollandaise sauce was amazing as were the beans and mashed potatoes. The chicken was crispy and juicy with perfectly cooked asparagus and potatoes with a rich brown sauce. We were brought complimentary glasses of champagne. Simple food cooked to perfection!

We celebrated my wife's birthday at Harbor House this past Sunday, dining with a group of six at 7 PM. While the food and atmosphere were excellent, the service was unfortunately subpar, especially given the cost of our meal. We expected more attentive service, particularly when compared to other dining experiences. Our two servers seemed more focused on side work than checking in, resulting in unrefilled drinks and missed orders. It was particularly frustrating to observe another server in our section providing excellent, attentive service to their tables, while ours were nowhere to be found. This was truly disappointing, as it detracted from an otherwise enjoyable meal, and when you're paying a premium, you absolutely expect better service.

We were a family of four who had not seen each other in 15 years. This restaurant seemed like the perfect venue for a Sunday brunch. Free valet service made parking easy, and within minutes we were seated at a (requested) window table overlooking the harbor and the Quadracci Pavilion. Water and menus followed quickly. We ordered some 10 minutes later after a review of the menu punctuated with numerous diversions into family history. The food arrived in a reasonable time, given the kitchen appeared to be slammed, and it was, in a word, delicious! Servers did not hover but were readily available to refill water and take our coffee and dessert order. Alas, the main course (#2 of 3) was so filling we all boxed our desserts for home consumption. To say we were sated is an understatement!

We plan to return next year for another family reunion. A return visit here for brunch is a “must.”

My wife and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary at Harbor House and we had an amazing experience. The staff could not have been more pleasant and attentive. They were considerate of some food allergies, congratulated us on our anniversary, and present us with a free dessert to recognize our special occasion. I would highly recommend this restaurant for any celebration like this. We will be back.

To begin with I had a table for 10 and at first you said you couldn’t accommodate another group that size you had too many After I weep a little the woman, I was speaking with came back to the phone and said they could do it second three people in my party after their experience went back to Harbour House again during our visit here in Milwaukee. The dinner was for my board of directors ahead of a conference, and I wanted to give them the best experience of Milwaukee Harbour House exceeded my expectations. Thank you!

Got to the restaurant an hour early, sat at the bar and ordered drinks and some apps. It was very warm in the restaurant despite staff saying the ac was on. I was flushed so it was very warm. The staff seemed exhausted, understandably with the volume of customers and climate in the restaurant.

Host came up to me around reservation time and informed me my table is ready and I could take my time. We finished our app at 734ish and my reservation started at 730…so not a huge difference. We went over to the host stand informed them that we’re ready for our table and they told me they’re still waiting for the table and it will be ready soon. I let them know we rushed to finish our app so that we could get sat and even gave up our seats at the bar. They said it was a miscommunication… we were finally sat about 20 min later. I would say this was the most dissatisfying part of my experience.

Food was good, but not great. Looked a little dried out, maybe sitting under the heat lamp a little long. Butter was very hard, not sure if that’s just how it’s served or how to explain that. Still good food, but you can tell it was just a crazy busy night.

Vicky did a great job and Tony was very helpful. Danielle served us at the bar and I can tell she was flustered but she was trying her best to keep up with the customer requests.

The kitchen and cooks looked tidy and on top of everything!

Overall, it was great, maybe just the host team could communicate more clearly. Rushing and giving up a seat to stand for 20 min felt unnecessary.

The vibe, location and service were amazing!!!. Food good not great. Lobster fra Diablo had minimal lobster and was too spicy to eat and enjoy, with too much sauce. The pasta with seafood was all butter no herbs or garlic or olive oil, a bit bland , but plenty of seafood. Drinks were amazing. Choices were great.

We had an incredible dining experience at The Harbor house. The views were absolutely breathtaking – the perfect backdrop for a relaxing meal. Outdoor dining on the Milwaukee lakefront is fantastic. Our waiter was exceptional. My mother was celebrating her 82nd birthday and the staff went out of their way to make it an extra special occasion. The food was also exceptional.

We tried the 3 course brunch that was colossal. First, the bakeries basket is wonderful and way enough for 4 people. Especially the cinnamon roll that was so soft and heart warming. The yogurt parfait was average and the yogurt used lacked texture. However, regarding the rest of the fest, it was not too overwhelming. The wild caught white fish was well cooked and not dry at all. The couscous with the zucchini and summer squash sautées was really the heart of this entrées. For dessert, I can't recommend the chocolate and hazelnut enough. I've also tried the key lime, a pure delice, the lemon is well balanced. The cherry crumble is a bit too liquid but the flavours are there. The affogato is a light option to finish this wonderful brunch.
Big plus, the place is beautiful with a stunning view on the lake. Minus, it is quite expensive but worth it.

Have been to this restaurant a number of times always a good experience. Ordered an orange juice for a six-year-old it was off or close to spoiled asked to see the manager wait staff appeared to be in shock (is there a problem they asked?)
Additionally we sat for about 15 minutes before we even offered the opportunity to order. We had ordered a chicken breast a pasta dish a steak and the child's steak 45 minutes in and we still didn't get our main items. After asking a number of times I was told your order is still in the kitchen. Saff didn't seem to care it was for a 5:00 pm reservation showed up at 4:51 told cold not be seated unit 5:00 the restaurant was only 1/3 full
It should not take 45 minutes for a pasta dish a chicken breast and two of the smallest steaks

Iconic and I rarely use that word but for Milwaukee this place is an icon. Superior food and service with a beautiful lake view. You get more than you pay for by far, but be prepared to pay a reasonable amount for this type of quality.

Our waitress was so informative and attentive yet efficient while quite busy. The food was perfectly prepared, presented, flavorful, flawless. A birthday outing to be remembered for a lifetime. So special! The location is amazing right on the water of Lake Michigan with the city of Milwaukee on the shore. Perfect pre-dinner or after-dinner walking along the paths.
