After having been there years ago when it was The Steak Pit, we were in the area and thought we'd go. We sat there for quite awhile before we were waited on. We ordered our food, they were out of two of our choices (whitefish & shrimp for the Alfredo)! We chose the Alfredo plain and it was tasteless and gummy. Our waitress never offered us the special which we heard another waitress say to a couple. She never checked on us after our meals came either. Disappointing service...

My husband and I spent the day in Bayfield and came upon the Harbor Table we decided to stop in there for a dinner. We had the sweetest friendliest waitress. My wife and I ate there last night for our anniversary. We traveled 4 hrs for a weekend getaway. When we arrived, there were about 4 waitresses standing at the bay and one asked us if we’d like to eat at the dining area ( I counted about 3 tables of customers)or the bar area (maybe 12 patrons total)we chose the bar. We chose a table off the bar with no help from said waitress. We sat for a few minutes, looked around then I helped ourselves to some menus that were situated on the wall near our table. A waitress came immediately snatched the menus away and gave us identical ones which was pretty rude. The bartender then showed up and was very nice. We ordered our drinks then our meals after receiving our drinks. We waited 40 or so minutes for our food. When it arrived it looked great but we received our appetizers with our food (wings and side salad) My wife ordered a $40 steak that was rare when asked for med well and my walleye was average but for the price ($27)I’d expect better. We were checked on once in about an hours time and never received our waters we asked for initially. Our cocktails sat empty for 20 minutes before we were finished with our meals. We would have ordered at least another round to celebrate. We sat there another 15 minutes awaiting the bill while we watched our bartender stare at his phone in a now virtually empty room. We had to go to the bar and interrupt him so we could finally go. My wife could only eat half her steak and the service was lousy and rude.

A letdown in comparison to what the previous reviews said. Upon arrival we were offered a great table, however the table was not assigned to a waitress. We watched multiple tables receive drinks and place orders. Eventually we had to ask the hostess for a server. After placing orders that included starters, the starters came at all different times instead of together. The entrees were not any better, also arriving staggered. The food itself was average, overpriced and bland. It felt like they were attempting to be a 4 or 5 star restaurant with 2 star quality. However, the cocktail drinks were fantastic. The list was atypical and had a unique selection to suit different tastes.

Great restaurant and very affordable. We got chicken wings, which was the special, plus I got a big salad. Three mixed drinks rounded out dinner and we only paid $30. Outside the restaurant are deck chairs where you can enjoy a drink and watch the boats come into Washburn’s harbor. Very relaxing.

Had dinner on a Friday night so most in our party has the fish fry. Choice of perch, whitefish, or walleye! I of course wanted mine baked and they were able to accommodate. It was fabulous! We also enjoyed the onion rings and the ahi tuna tartare (would've devoured the whole plate if I was by myself)! Beautiful views of the lake. Very friendly wait staff and great drinks. Will definitely go back when we're in the area! (Sorry, no photos. Too busy enjoying the night.)

Worth a second chance if you've been disappointed before!!!!!
I had to update my review! You can see my old review below. I left it in place because I was so impressed with how far this place has come. It went from the most disappointing and overpriced meal I've had in the area...TO THE BEST! I had the pecan crusted chicken and it was to die for. It's quite a bold move to put a dish like that on a menu. During a rush it's hard to maintain standards on a dish that is difficult to do in a fast paced kitchen. It came with potato cakes...and again...they were outstanding. They were moist yet crispy and delicate (a challenge to make from scratch). I am going to guess that this dish is the masterpiece of a talented chef. To finish it off...the broccoli was delightfully poached and seasoned to perfection. Simple yet delightful.

My wife got the blue cheese ribeye and it too was amazing!

I can say one thing...deep water grilled was our main restaurant in the area. After a lackluster experience there...we thought we would give these guys another try...and now we have a new restaurant to frequent. I'm eager to try their other entrees but it's going to be hard to not order that chicken again! Bravo ownership and management for making such a radical change!

Old review-Feb 14th 2024-The best thing at Harbor table is raw vegetables. I don't know where to begin. The buffalo chicken dip either had no chicken or it was purred into a meat paste. Either way, the app was a bit of foreshadowing for the main course. The small side salad was good and was the highlight of the lackluster experience. My wife and i got shrimp scampi and sirloin for our main course. The shrimp scampi was clearly their broiled shrimp lazily thrown in a luke warm bath of clarified butter. The steak was a laugh. You can give these guys a preferred temp but it's clearly a joke. I asked for medium rare and my wife ordered medium but we both got a dried out, washed up medium well steak. I can give their whipped potatoes o.k. marks but they weren't worth eating the calories... and to top off this disappointment of a dinner, their steamed, pale asparagus was laid in a limp sad state begging for salt. This was our first visit and it will obviously be our last. For $100 you would hope to enjoy something other than the raw vegetables! The chef and kitchen are pretty sad. They were consistently horrible so I can't chalk it up to a bad night. This food might pass to drunk wedding guests as you serve them out of humid hotel pans but it doesn't belong on a menu. I felt sorry for the serving staff who have to peddle this disappointing meal day in and day out!

This was our first time at this restaurant and thought that it was a very nice dining room with nice views. The waitress was very nice and the service was great! My wife and I both ordered prime rib medium rare and was honestly the worst prime rib that we have ever had. Instead of medium rare it was served very well done and was dry and very tough! I told the waitress and was told that the cooks were having trouble with the prime rib. I don’t feel that it should have been served at all! I enjoyed my side salad much more than the prime rib. Very disappointed!

First time here and it was an all around horrible dining experience. We put in our orders and waited and waited. When we finally got our food the stakes were burnt on the outside and dry and chewy. We brought a 5-year-old for Mother’s Day buffet… he ate a meatball and a cookie and a glass of milks for $18.00!! First time and last time we’ll ever come here. I got the fries catfish, potato cakes and a salad. Salad was fantastic varied ingredients and very fresh. The catfish was very good, maybe a little bland but salt, pepper and lemon solved that. The fish was cooked perfectly, firm. The potato cakes have a good crust but were slimy and not a very pleasing texture. Also the dishes and silverware had water spots. Not dirty just unsightly. Would definitely recommend this place. Also had live music playing while I ate.

Really great food here, at a price point that is high but appropriate for the quality of food, service, and atmosphere offered. They serve very delicious fresh fish here, among other dining staples like steak and seafood dishes. The bar is good, though they sometimes pour a bit heavy, which can undermine the flavor of their better house cocktails. This was our second time trying the prime rib. Mine was like leather and over done! the ajus didn’t even help. My husband’s was supposed to b rare and it was not even close to rare. He asked for the cheddar smashed for his starch and they were just plain mashed potatoes. Overpriced for the food amount. Also unsure why the prime rib on Saturday evening’s doesn’t come with soup or salad. The bartender was very nice and understanding.

First time here since this place was the Steak Pit. The atmosphere was still great with the marina in the background and the bay. Service was also very good, the spoiler was the steak. My wife got the T bone special. It was special to be sure. Small, tough, and difficult to cut with a knife! Horrible cut and sent it back without a single bite taken! The management took it off the bill, which was good. My steak was fair, but it was nothing to write home about either. It wasn't how it was cooked. They were just very poor quality. You can have the best chefs in the world, but if you start with shoe leather, it's still leather after it's cooked!

What a wonderful surprise! I stayed at the hotel across the parking lot and had no expectations but the food was excellent and the staff very welcoming and friendly. Shout out to Jess the bartender competently whipping up drinks and making everyone feel welcome. Spot on recommendations from her to try the lemon Leche cake with huckleberry ice cream ( haven’t had homemade dessert that’s good in a while!) and the blackened whitefish which was delicious and had a little kick, yay! I have a feeling though that everything on the menu is just as tasty. Menu is nicely labeled for those looking for gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options. My compliments to the chef!

Nice supper club feel on the lake. Convenient being next to hotel. They listed 10,12 and 16 oz. Prime rib. They didn't have the 12 oz. Not sure how that happens if cut to order. Prime was good, but a bit on tougher side. A bit pricey for being in a small out of the way town. I'd give them another chance.

The Harbor Table nailed it for us tonight. The drinks with the smoky old fashioned was a fun experience. But just a great location to have this bar back on the Marina.
Tuna was perfect, well presented but classic flavors really hit the mark.
Clam chowder was super hot and perfect, again classic.
Prime rib was an excellent cut served precisely and expected and not to be redundant to classic.
The pop over is something historic and dear to me and it also was just spot on and correct but cold, oh what I would do for hot pop overs! I'll come it whatever time you make em just for that if they are hot! And I need a dollop of butter to shake inside them, we are talking memories from when i was 5 from Bobbies in The Park White Bear Lake....

Good seasonal drinks. Food was good quality- the filet Mignon was a gorgeous thick cut-the popovers and prime rib were well done. Unfortunately the one thing that fell short was the dinner roll- hard, dry and cold. But certainly not the highlight of the meal yet at these prices I would expect some nice table bread. Mixture of the flavors sweet and salty pork and apple dish was sublime.
Service was delightful and attentive.

The best!!!!! Not only is the view fantastic but the staff is wonderful. Rose and her team helped to make our wedding day perfect. All our friends and family couldn’t believe the scenery. Our daughter’s wedding reception was held at the Harbor View Event Center in June, and we could not have asked for a better place to have the reception. Rose and the staff there were extremely helpful and courteous, and everything went off without a hitch (except for the bride and groom, who of course did get hitched!) The evening view of the lake was spectacular, and the photos turned out great. We would highly recommend having your reception here!

We just had our wedding at the Harbor View Event Center, and Rose was absolutely incredible to work with! First off, the event center itself is so gorgeous. The view of the marina and lake out all of the windows sold me from the moment we first walked in. Rose was amazing about working with me, helping me through any questions or concerns that I had about our day and offering suggestions and input whenever we needed it, but was also completely dedicated to have our vision executed. She always returned texts and phone calls right away and kept me updated on everything. She went above and beyond anything I was expecting!!
