Really love this cafe. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day. So my mom and I were able to order off the Friday Fish menu at 10:30am. Cod and shrimp meals were both great and an excellent deal. Meals included soup or salad, coleslaw, corn, and choice of potato. Shrimp were huge and seemed like they were battered at the restaurant. Very tasty. Breakfast dishes are also great here. Highly recommend.

Went on a midday monday. Many restaurants in Hartford are closed on mondays and thought we would give them a try. First impression was nothing fancy but clean place, very friendly staff. Menu was good and prices were fair. Waiter greeted us warmly and asked if we wanted something to drink while we looked through the menu. Drinks came fast and no pushing us to order. He came back when he saw I was ready and took our orders and explained what came with order and options. Food came with only a short wait, (this isn't a fast food joint) and served hot. My wife and I loved our meals and the coffee cup stayed full. Since the meal was very good and filling I thought I still had room for desert. Cherry pie. (they were out, Oh darn) Cheesecake didn't disappoint me though. If you haven't tried this place, give it a try. Every customer we saw there looked like they also were happy!

Disappointing from the moment we stepped in. Place is quaint and quiet. The server was initially friendly, but became standoffish once I complained about the food. I ordered eggs Benedict - the English muffin was so stale you could not cut through it with a steak knife. The ham was scorched. The eggs were cooked well. The hashbrowns were a pile of mush, and I was surprised to find 3 entire slices of American cheese instead of a smaller portion or shredded cheese. The breakfast skillet was good, but the same mushy hashbrowns.

This little cafe has been up and down. Breakfast is usually pretty good you just have to remind them please don't burn the omelette. Today when we ate at 11:00 a.m. they're special of the day was chicken quesadilla. It was very sad. You could tell the chicken was from a can and the salsa was from a jar nothing fresh. I didn't even eat it all I left it on the plate to be thrown away. My wife's breakfast was way better than my meal.
The other problem is their bathroom. In the men's room there are holes in the wall the paint is coming off the wall and was just smelling not the greatest. We've always had good service and clean tables but currently food quality seems to be on the downswing as if they're trying to save money.

I was extremely disappointed. The second i sat down i was ambushed by 3 different people in a matter of minutes asking me if i was ready to order before i could even look at the menu. The food was absolutely terrible, my toast tasted like it was freezer burnt, my omlette was very bland, the french toast had to be drenched in syrup to be somewhat decent to eat. I would never recommend this place to not even my worst enemy. I will never be going back!

This is truly a quaint downtown eatery, that proudly serves great tasting food with friendly, involved servers. Thoroughly enjoyed the Friday Fish Fry, another member of our party had the battered shrimp and they were huge, and a third had the fried cod while I had the baked cod. And loved that you had a choice of soup or salad, plus corn (vegetable), and choice of potato in addition to cole slaw. Nothing fancy about the atmosphere, just very fitting for a mom & pop style family restaurant in the heart of a small city's downtown.

I went here for breakfast. I had pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage. I also had a side of hash browns. All the food was on point. The pancakes were made just right and fluffy. The eggs were cooked just the right amount. The hash browns were also very good.
They have a good number of tables. It has a modern breakfast feel to it.
The people were friendly and attentive.
I will return next time I'm in the area.

Bicycling: It's on a small town road with a little traffic, and should be fairly easy riding. I didn't notice any bike racks. I also didn't see any outdoor seating.

Everything was great. The most interesting thing was when we were done eating and preparing to leave our waiter tried to get us to stay. It was pouring rain and hail outside, he said wait until it blew over. Most places push you out the door. We didn't wait which was a good thing, we would have been there for another 2 hours ! Visited Sunday for breakfast, they weren’t very busy and I believe I know why, prices are the 1st reason. They now charge extra for everything. Usually ordered 2 eggs toast and a breakfast meat for under $8, now I got 2 eggs which usually comes with toast and hash browns, even a side of bacon or ham. Now when you order you get charged 75 cents more for toast, 75 cents more for hash browns and 2.50 more for a breakfast meat. Next you pay another 3% if you use a credit card. I wanted to use a debit card and they won’t even take that. So my usual breakfast which was under $8 is $12.50+ which is quite and increase.
Yes prices have gone up but over 33%. No way we are coming back here as there are many other places near by that have not done this big increase.

I made it back to this great local hot spot for a delicious breakfast. We will be here a couple more weeks an will most certainly return. Simple but a nice local place to experience. Fluffy pancakes and good quality tasteful Bacon and all our eggs and orders served with a smile. The corned beef hash and potatoes were cooked to order and full of flavor. Next visit we will do lunch and another dinner. We enjoyed this place and the dishes sound delicious. This place is a must visit for a taste of what the locals love.
