We were in town and wanted breakfast. But we had the dog with us. We were going to get food to go. Looked up several family restaurants and chose this one. Was pleasantly surprised to see they had outdoor seating. I asked if our dog could be out there. They said yes! There was only one other customer outside so we sat at an end table, since the dog, a lab, can get very excited. Worked out great! My granddaughter had the croissant egg and cheese sandwich with the bacon on the side. She LOVED IT! I had my usual 2 eggs over easy, hash browns, bacon and pancakes. Otis the dog was being very good so he got a few bites of pancakes 😋 The waitress was GREAT! Very accommodating. Everything was delicious, as ordered and came out quickly. I would highly recommend this place 👌 😄 😍
BTW, that's my favorite seasoning, I snuck in, not provided by the restaurant. Shh. 🤭

His head plans to go to another restaurant.But since this was close by to what we were doing, we decided to stop in here.
It was a little after twelve and the place was packed. We got seated at the very last table in the restaurant. We figured it would take quite some time to get service, Let alone our food.
We got served on quite quickly, and the food came out in a very timely manner. The food was prepared beautifully.
The total time we were actually in there was less than an hour.
There's a large parking lot that is free to park and is handicapped accessible.
The whole experience was magnificent, and I highly recommend anybody traveling to stop into this restaurant.

Well this was our first time here most of the food was good, with one confusion one of us ordered blueberry pancakes well most places the berries are cooked in the pancakes but here it was just a normal pancake with blueberry pie filling on top of the pancake and cold !!! He ate it but grumped about it.

Spur of the moment breakfast stop on our way back to Minnesota. Some of my family ate here a year ago and raved about how fantastic the food was. This time didn't disappoint either. I had steak, eggs and hash browns and it was all done just to my liking, my daughter had a generous portion of pancakes and my niece had eggs and sausage. The wait staff was very friendly and the prices very reasonable. Very clean place. I would recommend it to others

I am shocked at the generosity of the owner and his staff!! My boyfriend and I are here for Thanksgiving and came for food. On the door is a sign for freeThanksgiving dinner for all from 11-4. Greeted by an employee leaning against a booth..at 1:45 p.m. close 3:00....I started walking back to a booth next to other customers by a window..the guy employ. POINTED HIS FINGER...as TELLING ME... I have to sit at the booth he's telling me to sit...at the door...I wanted to look out a window ...next to the other customers ...then I asked if I could sit by window....attitude....well we closed off that section...it was next to the others..and a guy was coming in...attitude by guy employee...shook his head..clicked in his mouth rolled eyes...girl with long hair...laughs at him...doing this to a paying customer...as if I have not waitressed...they closed in 1 hour and 15 mins.... wanted brfkfast or soup....
She thought the guy clicking in disgust shaking his head at a customer was funny..so she shook her head and laughed..cause a customer is not IN closed area...and doesn't want to sit at door...customer coming in...wheres he gonna sit......it's their job to honor paying customer...I got up to walk out... as I will not profit a business when what was asked...if ok to sit by everyone at window...girl yelled...GET OUT....GET OUT...then they laughed...
If I wanted way over in closed area...understandable....I was asking to sit by other customers...right beside them...same area...not infringing on their closed are....I can appreciate getting already...tables set...things done

We had not been since it changed names and owners (previously The Norsk Nook, which we loved). Well, we were blown away. This place was packed but running like a well oiled machine. The tables were turned quickly, the food came out hot and fast, and was amazing. Portions were big and ingredients were fresh. We had the Hayward breakfast Special and the Breakfast Croissant. Both highly recommend. Nikki, our server was knowledgeable, efficient and as nice as could be. After we ordered, we watched the entire staff (including management) work together, and all had smiles in their faces. There was a sign over the kitchen pass through that says something to the effect of “”These guys know what they are doing”, referring to the kitchen staff. We could not agree more!! Well Done!!!

Great little diner for breakfast! I got the skillet with sausage, green pepper and onion with breakfast gravy and egg on top and it was delicious! Pancakes were fluffy and hot, breakfast meat was cooked perfectly and not burned and there was always fresh coffee coming around so your cup was never empty.

Went twice.

First time was for breakfast, asked for French Toast with strawberries. They arrived but were canned rather than fresh strawberries unfortunately, and not what I was hoping for.

Second time was for lunch, and had a great cheeseburger whilst my wife had a BLT. They were both brilliant and had loads of fresh salad fillings, too.

All in all, would definitely go back, but just need to be more specific when ordering!

Stopped in for breakfast around 10, was packed but we got seated right away. It has an old-school diner feel, and they offered coffee right as we sat down. Waitress was great: watched her tend to multiple tables in the order they were sat, was efficient, quick, and got us our food with hardly any wait. I had the chicken and waffles, no complaints! We went there for the first time and won't be back! The server "Gaby" wasn't very social able, or attentive and she was kind of rude. Asked to send a side salad back because the lettuce was wilted and slimy all the way through. The server came back with a new salad, which was smaller than the first and said " is that better for you? " Never apologized for it being bad to begin with. Mind you the second salad , I had to pick out bad lettuce again!! The grilled chicken was extremely greasy as well . Will not recommend anyone to go there.

The kitchen cooks had the Spanish music, blasting from the kitchen and the bus boy holding the door open to the kitchen talking to both the cooks louder than the music. We were in the restaurant for about 45 minutes and the music volume never dropped.
Another exciting event was the personal phone call to the bus boy, he left the kitchen doorway to received the call on speaker out in the dining room. I don’t speak Spanish but it was extremely exciting to the bus boy and both the cooks who also talked over the music in the kitchen, when the bus boy held the door open again.
If you like Spanish music, can understand Spanish so you know what they are talking about and like disappointing food. Hayward Family Restaurant is the place for you to go!
As for me and my family that was our 1st and last meal there. Good Luck to the owner maybe a manager or babysitter should be there to make it enjoyable!
