** Editing my review, adding stars, AND deleting my first review statement because my husband convinced me to give it another try this past Friday. So, I did the walk of shame as we were seated in the same server's section that I has an issue with last week. She didn't say anything, but I assumed she recognized me and may have been made aware of my first negative review. Our food came out quickly, and it was delicious. The server was friendly, polite, and very attentive. Our experience was much better the second time, which reminded me I shouldn't be so quick to react. We've all had days where things don't run smoothly and it's not always someone's fault, it's just the way things play out.

This place needs a little help. Parm cheese for pizza was moldy. Glad I noticed before I put it on my pizza. All you can eat Chicken and Ribs - Chicken was good, Ribs were really thin and dry, worst ever. Steak sandwich not worth it. We ordered 2 different pizzas and they made the same one twice so we had to wait for the other one to get made correctly. (They did end up taking one off the bill). We were there on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't busy. Must have been a off day in the kitchen.

Had a chicken blt salad for lunch. Fresh ingredients but skimpy on the chicken. I wanted a vinaigrette dressing, and they didn't have one. We have gone to the Hideaway Pub four times in the last two months. we had their fish fries. All our meals were very good, large portions. Service was outstanding! Never had to wait. Food arrived quickly. Had the beer battered cod, and both the pan fried perch and deep fried perch. Prices of the meals were good. There is road construction, so it may take a little longer to get to the Hideaway.

Stopped in for dinner on a Friday night where we found out they have a limited menu that consists of mostly fish entrees. Seating was fine as we were able to grab a spot next to two very intoxicated patrons at the bar. Unfortunately, when we realized their menu was mainly fish / seafood items we opted to just have a few drinks and grab dinner elsewhere. When we first arrived we were greeted and served our drinks. After that it was like pulling teeth to get a bartender to come over to serve us. When we finally received our new drinks and asked for the tab the receipt had printed on it “if you pay cash, this amount you owe and if you pay with a card, this is the amount owed”. Seriously add 25 cents to a drink so you don’t look so tacky adding a surcharge for card usage. God knows you aren’t putting that extra money into the decor of the place let alone into hospitality training for the staff.
On a good note, this was not our first time there as we’ve visited in the past where things have been better. The 3 star on food was from previous visits, but it has been awhile. The way we felt when leaving this time is the reason I took the time to write this review.

Fish Fry Review- this place is raved about for their Friday Night Fish Fry and I don't know why. I got the Wisconsin Platter w/ Fries (Walleye, Bluegill, Perch). The Walleye and Bluegill were overcooked, dry, and chewy. The Perch was only slightly better but w/ lots of bones. I don't expect boneless but it was a lot. All of them tasked quite bland. The batter was light, crispy, yet missing something.
The few pluses: our server was attentive and nice. A large banquet hall for quick seating. No waiting around!
I won't be back for Fish Fry.

We were recently there for a family event which was hosted in the party room to the right of the bar/restaurant. The event itself was beautiful, but the service was not good. The blonde woman working the back bar was rude and I hate to say it, but possibly racist. A bunch of us were in line for drinks and she was nice to everyone except for me (half asian/half white), my sister-in-law (white), a cousin’s gf (half black/half white) and our friend (black). When it came time to clear plates, etc. she was very picky about which plates she picked up and left the remaining dirty plates on the tables. I’m glad I didn’t personally spend any money here.

My experience was not good. The management is unprofessional and rude. I ordered 2 chicken dinners to go on a Sunday. It's all you can eat. I asked for 5 pieces for one dinner for my husband. The pieces are very small with black on the inside which means it's old chicken. The manager walked past as I was paying for our dinners, stating loudly I could only have 4 pieces per dinner. I was embarrassed. I feel it was a remark that was not needed to be announced. The chicken was greasy and not good. I'll never go there again.

Our family has started trying a different restaurant together every few weeks. We've driven past the Hideaway for years, and made this our latest pick.
Nicely surprised! Great menu with lots of choices! Everyone was satisfied. Server was amazing: friendly, attentive, and kind in answering questions and making suggestions for my dietary needs.
She kept our glasses full and the food came out well-paced and totally hot. This is so appreciated.
The atmosphere and décor, as one grandson said, reminded him of going up north. It has that feel and it's homey. The emphasis here is on the food and service. We plan to go back to try other menu items. A total winner in our quest to find new places with great food.

Ordered a medium well burger. Comes out raw. French frys under cooked. Said they will take it off the bill. Then didn't. (Did after I mentioned it)Took forever to get a beer. Table next to us sat down after we ordered. They got their food before we did. I got my burger back after my father in law and wife were done eating, so I boxed it up to go. Nice place but not a good visit for us. Not hating. Just saying.
My father in law did win $500 dollars on a pull tab. So I guess That's the silver lining.

We were in Wisconsin (Franklin) for a family event. Our first night we went to the hideaway for dinner. Great choice. Neither of us were able to eat all of our meal. Lots of food! I had whisky beef tips and les had a fried chicken dinner. The tips were very tender and served with a mushroom sauce on mashed potatoes. Really good! The chicken was moist and nice, crisp skin. Served with roasted redskin potatoes and coleslaw, all of which were also delicious. Our appetizer was mozzarella logs. Yum! You. Ant go wrong here. Megan, our server, was great as were the rest of the staff.

I saw this place while looking up something else in the area and had to look into it further. The menu options definitely made me want to try out this place. It was a little confusing for a first timer walking in the door as there wasn't a host / hostess stand. I asked someone and got all kinds of information pretty quickly. They have a large seating area (Banquet room) that they open up for their busier times. Otherwise, you can seat yourself in the dining room or outside. The service was ok. Our main waitress was nice but not openly friendly like I would have expected at a comfortable place like this. There were food runners that helped out and took plates away. Everyone seemed to be focused on keeping busy. That could have been why the waitress seemed just nice. Not positive. They do pass along the credit card charges to the customer but they are very clear about it. It wasn't a surprise and you can choose cash or credit. I have been to other places that aren't so transparent about the credit card fees. I appreciated this place for sure.

I am positive that this place deserves a stop to check it out. Then when you start looking into the menu, you realize that this place deserves a few stops! The food was great. The atmosphere was great. The other customers all seemed to be enjoying themselves like they were at a friend's place. Great vibe!

Hey at 5:00 on a Friday night you can get seated right away. There was just the four of us but there were larger tables too that were empty and not reserved.
We ordered our drinks and then some appetizers. The fried mushrooms were great and the mozzarella logs were fine.
Two orders of the Friday trio and I ordered the shrimp platter. You can get your platters with a baked potato, potato pancakes, tater tots or fries. Good stuff.

i’m being like 100% honest. i’ve never had a worse dinning experience in my entire life. we come in and sit down. the table we were seating at had a used wet dirty cloth which already rubbed me wrong to begin with. there was 2 spots there were dirty that wouldn’t have been addressed unless we asked her to clean them (which we did respexrfully) and she rolled her eyes for sum reason? so of course i noted that ✍🏽. i gave her benefit of the doubt. next we order. my friend made a mistake in his order (like customers do often) and he asked her to change it nicely when the food came out. she got mad for some reason again and “you guys are killing me” and made shin feel horrible and was calling him boy and just basically was very rude and unprofessional. mind you, we ordered at 7:11, our food got to us at 8:10. i get my fries and theyre the coldest fries ever. she then gets mad after i let her know and she takes
them off. She overheard us talking about bad service and she comes back and tries to act cordial?? although she was rude from the jump? we confront her about the switch up and I got kicked out. this restaurant is horrible and she should’ve fired. she’s also the manager for some odd reason

The pizza was fantastic don’t get me wrong! It was the price fluctuations that blew my mind! Got a regular 16” pizza with sausage mushroom onion it says it was 23$ on menu! When we got our bill we were charged 19.24 plus 3.12 for every topping? So comes to 28.60 for half cheese half sausage mushroom onion!! Seems alittle insane for a pizza!

Stopped in for lunch with a couple of coworkers. They let us seat ourselves. Waitress came over quickly and took our drink order. Brought the drinks out and took our food order. Food came out in an appropriate amount of time and was hot. Large servings of fries and tots. Food was above average bar food. My only suggestion would be a little less salt on the fries. It's been a couple years since my last visit to the Hideaway. Let me say, the Fish Fry is great. Both the 2-piece and 3-piece Fish Fries, have hand-breaded cod that has mildly, crunchy batter AND flaky fish. Perfectly done! Try the Tater Tots -they were actually better than the fries. Rye bread and Cole slaw are ok, not spectacular. Only drawback is just one small cup of tartar sauce. I have to say, the fish is nearly good enough to skip the tartar sauce, but traditionalist will want their tartar!
We skipped the crowded Friday diner, and did Take out. It was done in 10 minutes. Long enough for an Old-fashioned! Yum!
With 2 tartar cups, the Fish fry gets 5 stars! We'll be back.
