Stopped in Friday, April 18, after golf, no reservation. Even though it was prime time, we were seated and the hostess returned immediately with our drinks. I ordered cod, my son had walleye. It was there in no time flat. To correct a previous review, we're both from Illinois, we were well treated, the server was very cordial, there is plenty of parking, the food was delicious and the fish dinners both included a nice slice of marble rye bread. Next time I'm going to bring my wife. If they take reservations for Friday fish, I would recommend it because the tables were full by the time we left.

We went for the fish fry, and was worth the drive. I would definitely suggest a reservation. I got the combo basket and it was a toss up for me whether the perch, blue gill or walleye was better…they were all great! Even the French fries were good.

Have been to many Friday fish fry’s. This one is the best. Had the fried cod and fries. Opted for the broccoli crunch side instead of slaw. Boy was it good. The fish is perfectly fried with light corn meal coating which makes the Cod stand out. Others in the group got the fish sampler which was also great. Our server was the greatest. Don’t let the looks fool you. This place is outstanding. If you’re in the area on Friday after 4:30 try it out.

Service has gone down hill. We stop in there every once in a while and after the last two experiences, we won't be back. It's sad when they're not busy and you have to wait 5 minutes for a drink. Especially when the bartender walks past you numerous times and still doesn't acknowledge your empty bottle. Not to mention the price for the same two drinks were a hell of a lot more than the last time we were in. Unless you're a regular, forget being served.

Typical southern WI, if you don't live nearby and know the owner personally you will be treated like absolute garbage and given poor service. I was leery to even eat the food thinking she spit in it because I was from Illinois (visiting a local friend who knew this place). It's in their HOUSE not a bar and the hours are erratic. This is a tax dodge not a business and should be SHUT DOWN.

We never knew this place existed until stumbling upon it on Google Maps. It literally looks like just a house with a small sign out front. The bartender was very personable and the owner was the sweetest. Food was excellent! My boyfriend got the reuben which he loved! Thick sandwich with REAL meat (not lunch meat slices!) I got the garlic-lime shrimp skewers which were smokey and delicious! We can't wait to go back for the fish fry which seems to have amazing reviews! Glad we found this place!

Last minute decision to get food on way home and was first option from location we were at and it was ABSOLUTELY worth it. Great service and fish fry was excellent. We all had fried fish but each a different potato and sampled from all plates...homemade chips/fries were the clear favorite. Appreciate the history lesson of the building as well.

The baked cod was delicious! Tots done to perfection. This place is so cool. Nothing fancy, plastic silverware, food served in cardboard tray containers. Totally got the “up north” vibes while I was there. If you didn’t know what to look for, you may drive past it. The staff was super nice! I also had a Brandy Old Fashioned which was really good. If you are looking for good food, head here!

Great family bar run by great a family. Looks like a house in a residential neighborhood, You will drive right by it if your not careful.
Terry and her family always make you feel welcome. Betsy is a great bartender and just the 2nd time there she remembered my name and drink. Great bar food such as very good wings, Reubens, burgers and fish fry. My go to place for the Packer games. Great Northwoods atmosphere where you can bring the whole family. I would give 10 stars if I could.

This is a hidden friendly bar where the locals ride up on their golf carts.
The patrons are always friendly and there are some good treats on the menu.

We were excited to try this place based on reviews. The bartender was nice and the portions were generous (hubs loved the wing-dings) but my meal was brown and tasteless. I wish I would have known 1 person does everything during the week (tend bar, wait tables and "cook"), then I would have expected the food to be what it was - frozen items dumped in the deep fryer served with pre-packaged sauce. Essentially drive-thru food with booze & beer.

Our son, who happens to be on the Eisenhower Aircraft Carrier somewhere in oceans unknown to us, told us about this gem. We went there with friends for the fish fry. My husband and I had the bluegills, potato pancakes and the broccoli crunch salad. Soooo wonderful. One of our party had the walleye, and 2 with cod. Everyone raved about the food. The atmosphere is "Up North" Wisconsin and the eclectic furnishings made it great. We will be back, and when our son returns from deployment, we will bring him there also.

We were invited here by friends, because they absolutely love the fish fry. But each of us ordered something different and all of the dishes served were so delicious. The atmosphere is quaint, with a lot of collectibles and antiques around you. This is not a large establishment but they seem to have plenty of space for their normal Friday night crowd. Service was wonderful and the people serving were extremely nice and patient with our individual requests. It is more of a pub with dining. But truly, well worth the stop if you love a delicious meal.

Home Town bar with above par food. Feels like home when you visit the hide away. Very friendly staff and with decent priced food. Home made specials and great parties had at the hideaway. What a fantastic spot! Used google maps to find this place and we were throughly pleased and can’t wait to come back. We had the 2 piece cod which was lightly fried and super crunchy with excellent flavor for both the flaky fish and the well seasoned breading. We ordered potato pancakes which were awesome and a broccoli crunch which was a beautiful alternative to another starch item.
We’re looking forward to our next visit and trying more items from their plentiful menu!

I came here with my parents and husband on a friends review. I wish I would have known about prices before I came. If I had I would not have gone.
Way overpriced for a fish fry. $17.00 for a small 5 piece perch served in a plastic basket.
If it was an all you can eat then the price would have been fair.
The fish was okay but again it comes down to price. Too steep of a bill for 4 people for a fish fry.

This is a very decent local bar, like Cheers. Owners and bartenders are really great people. It can get busy on Friday and Saturday. Packer fans will appear on Sunday games with jerseys rooting for their beloved team. Their fish fry is a little underrated in my opinion. I love how the do the baked fish. Wings are awesome too, get the Cajun. Burgers are pretty good too.

Fun retro place. Yes complete with a couch in a living room. Great food and drink! Must try the breaded portabella bites as an appetizer. Also try the long island ice teas! The Hideaway is right, first time there and I like the neighborhood bar feel. Stopped there with my daughter and grandson while traveling thru the area for a late lunch. We had two burgers and chicken sandwich and which all were good and tasty and the beer was cold. Feel sorry for the bartender as she also did the cooking, serving so kudo's to her.
