The food was great! My husband and I annoyed the food & we will definitely be coming back! Our server Taylor was absolutely amazing! From the moment we sat down, she brought such great energy and made the whole experience awesome. She was super friendly, quick, and made sure everything was perfect the entire time. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does! Hands down one of the best servers I’ve ever had, give that girl a raise! 🙌

The food was fantastic, I had the Alfredo and added salmon. It was cooked perfect. We had also tried the gilly goat and one it was one of the tastiest appetizers Ive had. Our bartender Taylor was hilarious and engaging we shared stories and laughs. I'll definitely be back for the staff and the food!🥰

We walked in at 5:30pm and were sat overlooking the strip and served great food in large portions. The price for two entrees and drinks was about $50 with tip. Very friendly service nice atmosphere the steps to the second floor are steep tho if you want to sit there don’t do it on leg day.

We were really surprised when we ordered the bruschetta and were given an oil and balsamic vinegar to pour on top ourselves. When I drizzled the balsamic, I noticed several fruit flies floating inside the serving jar. It was honestly disgusting. When I told our server, she didn’t really acknowledge it—no apology or concern—which made the whole experience even worse. It completely ruined the meal, and I left feeling disappointed and grossed out. Definitely won’t be coming back.

Other than the waiter being friendly, it was a complete waste of money. Worst cocktail I have ever been served. Food was horrible. Do not waste you time and money here.

Food was great, however services was lacking,it started with the one taking our order not familiar with menu, we had to hunt down a server for our water, (3 wait staff including ours chatting behind bar) where is our food and never checked on us how everything was or needed anything. Again had to get up and ask for condiments for our meal. Salads came after the meal. We were the only ones on patio and 3 tables inside, not a busy time. Very disappointed in service.

We have been to this restaurant many times over the years. We were sad when it closed down a couple years ago, so we are very excited that they have reopened under new ownership. The menu has lots of options and the prices are very reasonable for Wisconsin Dells. Our server, Alyssa, was wonderful very attentive. If I was running a restaurant, I would want her working for me. I would highly recommend this place. Something a little bit different and out of the ordinary for the typical Wisconsin Dells touristy places.

Menu: The food here is funky and different than most. I appreciate the menu's uniqueness. The dishes had a good variety of ingredients that helped balance flavors and nutrition. The menus are a couple stapled papers on everyday white printer paper. Our menus were quite worn, but they did the job. It may be time to print new ones. I and others at my table were just not expecting the menus to be in that format.

Food: The pasta I tried had a bit more meat than I typically like and was a bit more undercooked than I like. It was a good aldante, but not for me. I enjoyed the pot stickers and orange ponzu sauce that came with it.

Whoops: My water glass had a crusty unwashed part on the inside of my glass. Now to be fair, I'm a bit of a stickler to my water glasses. I usually only drink water when I go out and most everyone would not have noticed. It was translucent and I had to wet it and scrape it off with my nail to get it off. I thought it was just the cup, but when it came off I was a little grossed out that I drank half that cup. Mistakes happen, things are missed everyday, and not every single thing will be perfect 100% of the time.

Just be attentive and a new glass or whatever you need can be provided with ease. The chances of getting served a dirty dish are low and the remedy is quite simple in you run into a rare occurrence like I did.

Service: I liked our server. She was nice and accommodating. She had an accent and a couple people from our table didn't quite hear our understand a few times she spoke, but I had no problem with it.

We were served upstairs. I enjoyed the view of the dells from that height. I liked the overall experience.

Ok we’re do I start first of all it’s the dells in Wisconsin parking is what you can find. Ok now on to the restaurant, it’s a vibe in here with a calm atmosphere. We got seated upstairs overlooking the road it was nice seeing the strip for me and my daughters last night of vacation it was also a Thursday night so it started to calm down when we got here, when we got five minutes later our sever was at our table asking what we wanted for drinks I got the hippie juice it was really good then we both got Rastafarian pasta it was so good it had pepperoni chicken and spinach and a couple other things it was definitely different and delicious I can’t speak for any thing else on the menu except for the lava flow cake for dessert and as expected if your a chocolate lover that stuff is on point it hit the spot I definitely give this place a try again when I come back to the dells for my next visit

Had lunch there today, the Berry Bliss Salad with Shrimp and the Berry Salmon dinner with vegetables and couscous. Both were excellent, kudos to the chef.
This is not a Cafe, I would liken it to a restaurant or sports bar as they have many TVs. The restaurant has a beautiful rustic charm, clean, and the staff were awesome.
Thank you to Denny, you made our experience very special.

Looking for a great dining experience? THIS place is fantastic! We had the honor of having Alyssa as our personal serving and, besides the awesome ceasar salad I enjoyed, Alyssa made the dining experience very enjoyable and fun. If I could give a higher rating, I would give High Rock a 10 stars over all. Thank you, Alyssa for all the fun! ❤️🥰😃

I am from a big city with a great food scene. I always struggle to find good options that aren't high-end steak places in the dells, and I go every year! We tried High Rock, and it has a small and simple menu. You can tell they put thought into the plates given the space they have, but I think the dishes are very intentional. The dishes are quite tasty! We had the Mac and cheese (great sauce), the bulgogi lettuce wraps (delicious!), and the caprese flatbread (my husband is very picky with his flatbread and said it was delicious!).

Definitely would recommend for a solid meal in the busy part of the Dells. The drinks are the focal point and are great as well!

I've ate here numerous times and wanted to try the new limited menu before the place sells. Was pretty disappointed today when I showed up because it says "open at 4" and the door was locked, waited for 10 minutes roughly and the place still wasn't open when we left. I know the food is always good, the atmosphere is awesome, and service is phenomenal. But if you say you're open at 4, should probably be open at 4.

We had looked forward to coming here for a couple years, and were a little disappointed to find out they had scaled back to just apps and drinks. However, the flatbread we had was very good, and our drinks were too. I think if you consider going, think of High Rock as more of a happy hour or after dinner place now.
As someone else said, their internet and Google info isn't up-to-date anymore, so be sure to call for hours before going.

Some of the food parings seen here are Way Out of the ordinary! Do not let this detour you, the kitchen does an outstanding job in balancing flavors with many colorful dishes.

First visit, we were lucky to catch the door before it locked. Not to terribly upset any cooks we kept things really simple and ordered 3 Really Delicious Soprano wrap's. Monica our waitress, was absolutely great as well.
Second visit, we were absolutely delighted to see Monica as our waitress again and although I typically do not find as much joy in other's BBQ as that of my own but,
THE KOREAN PORK NACHOS are nothing short of phenomenal, especially paired with The Dell's own root beer.

Both visits, all of the staff we encountered were warm friendly and helpful (was just into the mid-October off season).

Parking.... Well, as previously stated, I went off season so parking was no issue. During season, I would say you may have a bit of a worthwhile walk to this destination but hey, it's on the strip so, pick up some fudge along the way.

This was a nice looking place on the inside. There was plenty of seating. Staff was okay although they could have been more attentive. I got the Soprano sandwich. I thought it was average. They gave me a lot of greens but not a lot of shrimp/bacon in the actual sandwich. This is probably a one and done for me next time I’m in the area. For $13 I would want more meat in my meal. Prices were okay. We’re find parking nearby.

The Big Kid Mac n Cheese is some of the best food I've ever had. I've never liked Mac n Cheese, but this is different. I get it orange/spicy, and it's more of a cream based rather than super cheesy. Amazing! I'll get it with chicken, shrimp, or plain depending on the day and it's all amazing. Ahi Tuna is also great, cooked perfectly and sauces and wasabi peas are delicious. Highly recommend the Tye-Dye and Lavender Lemonade for drinks. I come here anywhere between once a week/once a month. Never disappoints. I've found the Mac n Cheese is best right when they open, usually around 11-11:30, nice and freshly cooked noodles. Love being a regular here!

Worst service ever, staff was so unfriendly, waitress was so grumpy and annoyed, she kept rolling her eyes and grinded her lips and her teeth when being questioned about the menu, the whole experience was horrible, we couldn’t imagine how the management is like as they sure don’t know how to train their staff. Items ordered:
Big Kid Mac ‘n’ Cheese
Walleye Wisconsin
Truffle Shuffle

I was very surprised at the quality of the food here in a positive way! When coming to Wisconsin Dells we generally expect a lot of fried food and heart attack specials. High Rock Cafe is a very slight departure from this theme.

While all of our dishes had good flavor and were well cooked, I was most surprised and impressed by the walleye. It was light and the vegetable accompaniments were not over-cooked (a welcome surprise when dining in the rural Midwest). The squash, onions, carrots and cauliflower were all tender crisp as they should be. The walleye was lightly seasoned and the sauce was not overbearing.

We would come back for sure!

The restaurant’s interior is very beautiful and stylish. Set up is modern and cozy. Unfortunately we didn’t have a good experience and left disappointed. Our waitress would roll her eyes and acted very impatient when asking clarifying questions about the menu. I ordered a simple burger. I wanted it to be medium rare. It was well done, it did not seem to be a 1/3 of a pound. Close to 1/4. The picture is worth 1000 words. (Below) That was my punishment for asking if lettuce, tomato and onions were included in basic price as everything else was extra charge to the burger. For example adding mushrooms for $2.

The worst food but worst of all was the worst service. The waitress was so grumpy, rude, mad and just bad attitude. We will never come back to this place, food was bad , they must of know that the restaurant will be running only a few months during the summer so no matter what they will get tourists customers. Super slow too, it will be 1 hour wait from the time you order your food until the food come to your table. It wasn’t that busy to take that long . Spend your money elsewhere! We spent the afternoon wandering the strip and everywhere we went people told us to eat at The HIgh Rock Cafe. We decided, why not? We had to wait our turn so we left our number and were paged when our table was ready. We are soooooo glad we chose this restaurant. It is owned by the Chef and it showed in the dishes we chose to share. The staff told us they all love what they do! That also showed in the smiles and cozy atmosphere created in this amazing Cafe.

Store owners along the street told us to try the Gilly Goat so we did. It's a wonderful warm goat cheese appetizer with toasted bread and olive oil. It was DELISH and I almost always HATE goat cheese. This dish was so amazing I thought my eyes would get totally lost in the back of my brain where they rolled from the deliciousness!

We also tried the warm pasta dish and the beet & spinach salad at the recommendation of nearby store owners. OMG!!!! It was so delicious that we forgot to take pictures until we were almost done eating it so forgive the way it looks in the picture. Try it for yourself. It's AHmazing!!!!

We were among the last guests to be seated and when the restaurant began to noticeably slow we worried we were holding our server hostage. She was so kind when she informed us to not rush. "You guys are fine. Just enjoy your meal." We felt welcome and well cared for. It was the kind of customer service you almost NEVER see anymore and it really made our evening special. We had already had a fabulous day at Crowley Lavender Farms and this dinner was the perfect end to our day.

After dinner, we walked along the Riverwalk and reflected on how nice it was to be treated like welcomed guests at a restaurant. This owner and these staff really get it right! The prices were perfect, the meal was delicious, and service was absolutely fabulous.

Thank you High Rock Cafe. We are so glad we found you last night. You will definitely be remembered as one of the highlights of this trip! You were kind to us and to our Service dogs. That means so much more than you understand. We appreciate your tantalizing food, your comfortable venue, and your absolutely amazing staff!

Thank you!

High Rock Cafe is one of my top eateries in the Dells. It’s a great price point for great food. The menu changes seasonally, which I enjoy, because it’s a new experience each time I dine. Some staples are the big kid m and cheese and the adult KitKat…yum!

Updated 7-2-23...Everything I said before is still true two years later. Add the Harper and Smokey Luigi pasta dishes, but personally, I liked the Harper best! I added pictures of them.

If you come to the Dells, make this a staple. It was worth every dollar. The service was superb beginning to end. They even went so far to tell customers as they were being seated where things like the restroom were. That is real attention to your customer! The servers knew what to offer and explain as the specialties of their menu, and they weren't wrong. Let's start with the pork potstickers. It was more than just the stickers tasting amazing, the salad bed it came on had a delicious light sweetness to it. The Asian influence was definitely felt here. Then we had the Soprano Sandwich, All American, and Big Kid Mac and Cheese. While I would LOVE to delve deep into the intricate and phenomenal tastes of these, I think it better that you just see the pictures and look at their menu. The portions, as you will see in the pictures were very filling! I will say that the Big Kid Mac and Cheese was huge, the Soprano was light and savery in a delightful way, and the All American was truly a journey for the taste buds and did an amazing job of combining several of the restaurants signature dishes into one culinary experience. We ended on the dessert suggestions of our server. There was The High Rock's fantastic take on the homemade Kit Kat with ice cream and whipped cream as well as the Dirt n' Worms chocolate mousse. Personally, I believe I will never find a better concept of the homemade Kit Kat than with the chef owners of this restaurant. I will be back because I will always want more. Now, you will want to keep in mind in terms of price that we had one appetizer, three entrées, and two desserts. When you take into account the location, huge portions, and amount of dishes we got, the price was very fair!

Came here for nice family dinner. Things turned out a bit different, my wife of 20 years was assaulted by a foreign waiter . I will explain, wife says she is going to restroom 30 min pass so I go to make sure everything is okay, sure glad I did as I open the door to the men’s room I see my wife in compromising position with a young Asian man . My wife jumps up and slaps him and we grab or things and leave. My wife is a lady and now has ptsd we called police but officer just laughed. I will never come here again or will I ever return to the dells

I have tried the meatloaf and big kid mac & cheese and those were both good. However, this time we tried something new. The rio grande wrap was dry and flavorless. The fish tacos weren't very good either. Atmosphere is always great at High Rock though.

We came to the dells for wizard quest and some family fun and we left to go get dinner at the High Rock Cafe and it was a great meal. I had the Prime rib. My son ate the chicken strips kids meal and my wife had a sirloin steak. Everything was very delicious and not too expensive. Also as we were walking over we found a street magic performance and it was so great I wanted to come back again!

Our favorite stop at the dells! Great service andthe ambience is very laid back. The garlic tator tots are really good, so is the loaded potato soup. I had the salmon with the cabbage pancakes with an egg in the center. Didn't know how all that was going to work together but it was awesome. The view from the second floor adds to the charm of the place.

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. I look forward to our annual visits. I can tell you that I wasn’t the happiest with my first visit due to the long wait time— from start to finish, however, over the years, their service has improved! I love their signature dishes and commend them for developing delicious new, “seasonal dishes!” I travel to the Dells every year just to eat here. 5 stars for food! Please bring back the garlic tater tots!

The food was actually pretty good for such a touristy area. The mango Mocktail was one of the best mocktails I've had. The shiitake appetizer was better than I expected. I ordered the Atlantic plate from the brunch menu. The salmon was a bit dry and the sweet potatoes were a bit oily but overall the taste was great.

We arrived and was seated right away. However after that Noone came around to even offer drinks. 2 ladies had tacos and they had not eaten much so I asked them how it was and they said not good. They didn't even have kids menu's. After sitting for a bit we decided to leave. 3 waitress standing talking and none of them approached us to even offer drinks.

What a nice restaurant. We tried the goat cheese appetizer (Gilly Goat) and the Cuban sandwich. Both were delicious! And let me tell you, after living in Miami for many years and eating many Cuban sandwiches, this is by far the best I've had north of South Florida! I can't wait to go back and try other things, although it'll be hard not ordering another Cuban!

Fantastic food, with a progressive menu. The ambiance there is a bit tacky for how amazing the food is. The prices are a bit higher bc it’s on the strip, but this place is actually worth eating at compared to several restaurants that are also on the strip. Overall I’d recommend this place for the food alone. The martinis were perfection, and pop rock cheesecake was so so good.

Fancy for a cafe, we had the ahi tuna appetizer, king mac with shrimp with tatertot side and a cubano with a side house salad. The mac sauce was the only thing that impressed me, they seem to make it in house. The ahi was perfectly done but i only liked the spicy sauce (the one that doesnt look mayo based). The cubano had too much pulled pork for the rest of the toppings and sauce. The white balsamic vinaigrette was the star of the salad, i asked for no croutons but it still had a couple tiny ones.

Rude staff, and poor customer service!

Short story- don’t come here! So many better dining options in the Dells that would be happy to serve you!

Long story-
We went to dine in with a party of 6, we were greeted by rude boy hostess right off the bat - cold and seemed bothered we walked in. He was really putting a damper on our day. Trying to celebrate a night out with our family we let that roll. But rude boy hostess was not done trying to rain on our parade. We were told we needed to wait until our 6th person arrived. We let him know that was fine they were just a few minutes away. As our 6th person walked in, another party of 6 arrived after us. They seated the other party right away, even though our entire party was there, and we Arrived first. A little frustrated we were hoping they just had multiple tables available. Nope, rude boy hostess looked up and seemed bothered that we were still there, and told us they had NO tables available. No wait time available. No options to stay. Dismissive rude boy hostess is a reason we will never come back and actively Tell other to avoid this establishment.

Went here in the off season, so it was populated but not crowded. Service was a little slow but not terrible. We got the truffle curds, the pesto pasta, and the meatloaf and macaroni dish. The food was tasty and plentiful but not super appealing to look at. That said, this isn't a place you're going for the fancy plating. We squeezed 3 meals each out of our appetizer and two entrees, so we were definitely able to get our money's worth. Overall a good stop in the Dells but not one to plan a trip around.
