We're Highway 12 Family Restaurant, and we're a family style restaurant here in Sauk City, WI. We believe in enjoyable family meals and good food, offering authentic American and Mexican dishes. Police and military discounts are available as well. We started this business as a way to realize a new dream for our family. We're looking forward to growing our business to continue to serve Sauk City and the surrounding communities. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, added avocado. It comes with slice of tomato and lettuce. I also added a side salad. I expected a small salad! It fills an entire small takeout container! I could've done one or the other. The chicken is grilled a bit longer than I like however, I'm sure they were making sure it was done. It is tasty. Pictured is the salad and half of chicken sandwich.

Went there to celebrate a loved ones birthday and I had beer batered cod and it was greasey and the batter was doughy. All of the food was cold. I will say that the wait staff was kind. I don't recommend this restaurant.

Delicious, steaming hot food. Best food I've had in so long. I had the Philly burger and fries, and each are to die for! The staff are so amazing helpful and right on top of things. I'd highly recommend this place to everyone! I wish it was at my hometown!

Update: although the food seemed to be great, my son and I, we got sick. It was the only meal we had that day because early in the morning till 1:30pm we were enjoying kayaking and right after, we went to this Restaurant. We didn’t know it was right before it’s closure but the restaurant staff was nice enough to accept us, as last customers. The food was amazing as we stated below but unfortunately we got sick and ended up at the doctors office following day. All Sunday evening we were vomiting, experience diarrhea and not being able to eat or drink anything at all. All drive back home to chicago we were dying. The doctor said it’s food poisoning.
Either something was not washed correctly and contaminated with bacteria or the staff did not wash their hands. Perhaps the meat was undercooked - we can’t tell. Either way, we experienced the worst stomachaches of our lives. We are not going to sue you or cause trouble to your business because we are not this kind of people, but please be more careful of the staff’s hygiene and when preparing food. We won’t be back, but hopefully you learn from our experience.
Great food, awesome burgers. My son got the biggest taco salad we have ever seen, it was delicious! We totally recommend the place.
