My family has been spending time at Hooker's since the 40's. The name Hooker's comes from the original owner who was quite a fisherman. Great bar food and grill your own steak in the restaurant! Drinks are cheap and plentiful and the bar is a fun place to watch Packer games. The fishing off the dock is great!

This restaurant was a spur of the moment change on my birthday. It was an extremely hot day and the outdoor place we had chosen was not going to work! We are so happy we found this place! Very cool setting along the Wisconsin River. We got a window seat and loved watching the activity on the water. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Carley was amazing. The super neat part is you cook your own steak!! We chose the steak for two....we each got our own side plus salad. i believe it was $32 dollars....we could choose our cut of steak(we had ribeye)you can season with supplied seasons, they also have bread you can grill 😋. It was good all the way around! Then Carley said make sure to come in your birthday, you get a free steak. Lol 😂 so our steak was free ( you still pay for sides and drinks). Overall just a fun time. Oh and the old fashion was yummy too!!!

Hooker's was our favorite place to visit for many years. I'll admit on our first visit I was turned off by the "cook your own steak" concept. Having spent the entire day on the water, making dinner wasn't on my mind. I sucked it up, ordered a beer and got to cooking. My hubs and I had a great time talking with other folks and trying the different spices. The steaks are great, salads are always fresh and crisp and the tator of the day is awesome. I look forward to another visit soon.

Definitely not impressed with this place. First time there for my birthday. I was looking forward to a steak but they no longer cook them for you you have to stand at a huge Grill and do it yourself. So I opted for the fish which was the only thing other than steak on the menu. I had the cod which was pretty good but everybody else in my party had walleye and they were all very disappointed. It was tough and hard to cut. And getting more than one breadstick per person was almost impossible. If you want a scenic drive in the country and cook your own meal then I guess you're fine but you're still paying minimum $30 per steak that you cook yourself. And their location isn't ideal. There's nothing around there except for Lake.

Was there for a birthday when we got our bill there were charges for alcohol drinks (we dont drink) there was also a charge for mushrooms and onions and we never ordered or got any when we brought it to the attention of our waitress she was very rude and she said well someone has to pay for it so I asked if she gave us someone else's bill on accident she said nope it's yours it was never made right and I ended up paying for the entire bill and then ontop of that they added 18% gratuity to my check so for 1 steak for 2 and 1 regular steak with a drink our bill was 145 dollars I will never go back I will go to Texas road house where they cook my steak there not rude and I can take the 3 of use out for 80 dollars with tip and drinks very disappointed

I wanted to update my review. I forgot that I had been there 10 years ago. Me and my son went there after doing some kayaking. We sat at the bar and had the coolest server, she was fun, and kind and efficient. Nice find! The food was so much better than I had prior. I had a salad with chicken and it was well made and tasty. Nice improvements! Keep it up! We will come back!

You are able to select and cook your own steak(s). They have an only one indoor charcoal grill. a drawback is, if they were very busy, there might be a backup at the grill. Their steak selection is good and sizeable. They also have a sharing pricing option for those with smaller appetites. The room and wait staff were above average. We've been here a few times now but this last time (on my birthday) was our least favorite trip. We had a 645pm Reservation but ran into some construction which delayed us about 20 minutes. We called to let them know but we were quickly notified that staff had no desire to sit around waiting for our family to eat so as long as we agreed to not be there all night, they would still let us come. This was extremely unprofessional and way out of line since their website states the kitchen closes at 830pm but yet we were told staff would like to be done as close to 8pm as possible. We decided to still go since we had someone else meeting us there and the kids were excited. As soon as we got there are were rushed the entire time to the point that my boyfriend finished cooking his food and packed his food to go. Our server sat right next to us glaring the entire time. She even started closing down the grill while we were still cooking our food. My boyfriend walked to the bar and the bartender told him she was trying to close so she could leave and refused to serve him a drink (yet website states bar is open until midnight and it was barely 830pm). We did not feel welcomed and felt we were interrupting the staffs plans to leave. It was extremely uncomfortable and one of the worst birthday dinners I've ever experienced. We probably will not be returning as the $200 we spent could have went to an establishment with staff who actually wanted to serve our family instead of making us feel like a burden the entire time. The waitress even went so far as to bring me the check and ask me to pay before everyone was even done cooking. And yes, we still left a $40 tip even though the waitress didn't deserve it.

Three stars for one reason at the end of the review its a 5 otherwise. Been going here on birthdays for years now. Braving ice and snow storms through hail and flooding. Great location good selection of steaks. I'm a fan of this style restaurant. Obviously having some troubles post pandemic. Make the effort to get there and save this classic Supper Club.
