Had an amazing time! We loved the fact that you could pick your entree and then cook it to what you believe is perfection. Cooked my steak, took it off the hot rock and put it to the side. Then sliced thin slices and returned then to the rock for a perfect bite every time. The drinks are very tasty and have collector cups. The sides were well portioned and the dessert was the cherry on the top. The "elote" is good but not when it's cold. Eat that first or it isn't worth it. Service was fast and on point. Will return here!

We were told to wait because they’d be flipping our steaks for us, and they never came back. I’ve been to Hot Rocks before, and my understanding was that you could flip your own meat when you wanted because you cook it to your liking. If my friend and I hadn’t flipped them on our own, the food would’ve been well done or burnt. The waiter seemed to be snippy with me after I’d mentioned been there before. We attended for my bachelorette party and I really hyped this place up.

Hot Rocks was an amazing experience. We had a very attentive, informative waiter named Walter. The best way I can describe the experience was like a personalized, tabletop cookout. The food was fresh and flavorful. The vegetables were just right. The lighting in the restaurant was also just right. The decorative lamps and additions to the top of each table gave island vibes. We had such a fun experience here! The steaks were great and it was really cool getting to cook them ourselves. Our server Myra was amazing -she explained everything so well and made the whole process super easy and enjoyable. Went here for a few free drinks, ended up with a $2 tab, tipped $5 and put it on a credit card. When we get back to our room we get hit with an $80 hold, so we go back- the bartender shows us the receipt for $7, claims he doesn't know what happened, and speaks to a manager who claimed it was a pre-authorization (which makes no sense because we never opened a tab with the card) and was confident it would fall off. Well it's been 2 days and the charge is still pending... we should've paid cash or gone elsewhere.

Update: Owner response makes no sense, they held 40x the amount of my bill rather than just a few dollars extra. Additionally, they use toast which does not have that as a default setting, so they elected to do this. Lastly I was not opening a tab where the amount could increase that much, I was paying the bill- I have never had a restaurant authorize for so much more and give such a pathetic excuse. If you go here pay cash or be ready to find out their definition of what "a few dollars extra" is.

If you're looking for a unique dining experience, then this is the place for you!
We ordered the calamari for an appetizer, and it was amazing!
I ordered a cocktail with strawberry puree, I forgot the name, but it was sweet and delicious!
We also ordered the tomato soup which was creamy and more like a tomato bisque, very yummy!
For entrees we had the ribeye and the filet mignon with lobster tail. The rock is so hot so you have to be careful when cooking seafood because it can overcook easily. I cooked the filet to medium rare and it was soft and tender. The lobster was a little chewy.
The ribeye was thick and took awhile to cook to a nice medium. But it was also tender.
We then got the creme brulee cheesecake, which was amazing and the ice cream on a frozen lava rock. My daughter loved that!
The service was great and the server was attentive and explained everything.
My only suggestion is to get some ventilation in the dining room. Be prepared for a lot of smoke from all the meat cooking on the rocks.
Overall this was a unique dining experience and I'm glad we tried!

New experience with raw food cooked on the hot rocks. We ordered the pork chop, and lamp rack. Good size food. I was actually amazed by the cheeseburger from kids meal. This is a must stop and eat place. They are alittle pricey but so wroth the experience we will be back. Our server was so nice he did a amazing job.We didn't even have to hit the button on the table to get the server he had perfect timing. We did get a few of the souvenir cups to remember our trip. The blue muscles where really good. We also ordered the ny strip, teriyaki glazed ham and salmon that we all cooked on the hotrock the way we wanted. All really good still had some lefts that we enjoyed later. The restaurant has a great vibe we sat on the patio which is covered i would recommend reservations if you want to sit inside mid-day on but the wait for inside wasnt long we were just hungry. We celebrated a birthday at Hot Rocks in Wisconsin Dells, and it made for a fun and memorable dinner. The experience is unique. You cook your meal on a hot lava rock right at the table, which is both interactive and flavorful. Just be warned: the table stays warm even after the rock is removed, and the dining room can get quite smoky. More ventilation would help with the strong mix of smells in the air.

We kicked things off with virgin piña coladas and chi chi coladas. Both were surprisingly delicious. The breadsticks were soft and savory, and we loved the tiki alert system at the table—it made it easy to call the server or ask for the check.
Service was quick and friendly. We had the blackened mahi mahi and two top sirloin steaks, all cooked perfectly. Sides were a mixed bag: the garlic mashed potatoes, steamed carrots, and house salad with ranch were great, but the mac and cheese was underwhelming (though they kindly offered a free swap).
Dessert is a must—the beignets with Nutella mousse were phenomenal, and the Death by Chocolate (more like cheesecake than cake) was rich and satisfying. Great for a birthday or special night out!

We came as a group of 8, two families, and had reservations for 6p on a Monday night. We were put in a room to the side bc they didn't have any big tables left.

Waiter was kind. I'm sure it was difficult to work his floor area and attend to our separate room. Only one family got their waters, the other family had to ask again when the food came. There were several menu items that they were out of or had been discontinued along with over half of their cool tiki cups being unavailable. We ordered additional drinks/cocktails and those came after the food and refills needed multiple reminders. During ordering we were informed they had run out of strip steaks so only 1/4 of the people who ordered those were able to get it, the rest had to switch to a different cut of meat. Salads also came after the food. Some of the seafood was already borderline burnt by the time we got it. Steaks were decent, they come with a trio of sauces. Fries are just like McDonald's which was a bonus for the kids.

It's a neat concept and maybe it works better for 2 tops or 4 tops but we wouldn't go again.

We went there last night and it sucked. I've been there many times and it was terrible on 6/21/25. We couldn't get them served on the rock cause they were to busy. We were there for 2 hours and they were never busy. There was empty tables everywhere. And it never got busy. It was truly a disappointment and might not ever go there again. So it was my first visit with a friend who had been there previously. I ordered the Scallops and he ordered a ribeye and they bring the items out to the table raw with some seasoning and a 500 degree lave rock you put your food on the rock and urn a seeded and you it on your plate to eat when TD done the way you want it. We visited for the first time on Friday. We were looking for something different and interesting. We were not disappointed! Meal portions were just right. Seafood (Ahi tuna, scallops, and shrimp) was fresh and delicious.

Cooking your food on a lava rock is a unique & fun concept—though I will say, I felt my rock cooled down quickly.

Overall, the food was very tasty! I enjoyed my field salad, and my husband enjoyed his caesar. The meats were pretty basic but tasty. We enjoyed a Korbel old fashioned together. The only thing I’d avoid (from what we tried) is the mac & cheese—tastes like it was a microwave meal.

I was very excited about going here on our vacation. We ate outdoors which was nice. Our waiter was not attentive to our table. Refills were even difficult to get. When our food was brought out very limited instructions were given. One meal has a very long hair mixed in the mashed potatoes. No apology offered. When asked if they could comp his meal we were told it had been fixed since they gave him a new bowl of potatoes. Management was not helpful or concerned that they served food with hair mixed inside it. I do not recommend this place. Also, 4 adults and 3 children brought an 18% gratuity which was entirely not worth it according to the terrible service.

We were there with a group of 6 and our server Betul was wonderful! So personable and friendly-it was like she was our friend too!

Food was fantastic, especially loved they had impossible patties so that as the only vegetarian in the group I could still partake in the fun. The baby field salad is also delicious and totally worth the upgrade for a side.

We had a great time and will definitely be back!

Came here for the first time for my birthday today and it was AMAZING. I love the cool concept of cooking it in front of you! Betul was a wonderful and amazing server to us. She explained everything we needed to know and we told her it was our first time at this place and she was very welcoming. Would definitely recommend to friends and family!

I went there two nights in a row and the first night the service wasn’t great but it got us served. The server made us feel we were of inconvenience to him. Food was good. The second night tho Mira took care of us and went above and beyond for us. She was so attentive and made up for the night before. We loved coming here and will continue to do so!!! Our first time there. We didn't understand you're in charge of cooking your meat, which was a bit weird at first, but once they brought it out, no big deal.
Our waitress was having a bad night but I would recommend people give the place a try as the food was good and it's a unique concept.

We took our grandkids to Hot Rocks for the experience. Luckily the kid's menu offers 2 options with rock cooking at a reasonable price. The adult Friday fish meal is reasonable also. Our server, Betul was friendly and knowledgeable. Nice job.

Place was okay service poor, waiting way too much then getting a clean table. Silverware was dirty and no napkins or paper towel to wipe out. Tables were dirty and greasy. Not friendly or smiley face and check-out were rude, disrespectful. Food wasn’t great , get sick right after come to the hotel.Please don’t get tricked for free drinks if you stayed their hotels.

First time visiting and our server was very attentive. We started with calamari and while a small portion l, it was delicious. We tried a side Ceaser salad and the portion was more than expected and wasn't over dressed. Better than most restaurants we've tried in the area! For dinner the various items we had were seasoned beyond my expectations. The lamb, tuna, steak and sides were so good. This is a hidden em that we would definitely return to.

I was driving around the Dells for some work when I came across this place. It was my first time watching meat being cooked on a lava rock, great experience, especially thanks to the bartender, a lady named Maria. She was very attentive, polite, and friendly. Highly recommended, especially if you're lucky enough to be served by her. Maybe next time I'll get her number and ask her out on a date. I don't know, she was just awesome.
