The place itself needs a freshen up. -Lose the gingham tablecloths, freshen up the indoor and outdoor planter boxes per the season. Light the fire, or decorate it with greenery.
Food was delicious! We went for brunch, and were seated on time per our reservation. It took a bit for the waitress to get our drink order and explain the brunch stations, but she was pretty busy.
-she should have told us to order the made-to-
order omelets as soon as we sat down. There was a long wait for them, as they only had one guy making them.
All the food offered was great. Ham and turkey were tender, potatoes delicious, fruit varied and fresh, salad was limited, but very good.

My children actually used to live above the lodge and always gave me these stories that the place was beautiful. They underspoke, this place was gorgeous, the service was wonderful and the food was absolutely amazing.

Great little hidden world . .never knew it was here until I watched "around the corner" on PBS. 3 of us had the ribs, coconut shrimp, and the combo fish fry. Absolutely delicious. The sauteed spinach with garlic side is THE BEST!! We will definitely be back again to try the Sunday brunch. Seems like they are only open Sundays and Fridays. Call to confirm.

Went here for the first time on Sunday. I was greeted warmly by the hostess and seated immediately. The food was meh. When we accidentally knocked over a water glass at our table, no one came by to help us clean it up. I asked the young man behind the bar for cloth or a towel or a napkin and he tossed a bar rag at me. I did not realize that coffee was not included in the price of the buffet which I think is odd. Although it is a very lovely venue, I would not return.

This is one of Milwaukeeβs best held secrets. The food was so delicious and the staff was amazing.
Loved Adrianβ¦(hostess/manager?)
She greeted us and kept things moving along with our server, Daniel (the assistant manager) both were so personable! It was our anniversary and they brought us a piece of chocolate cake that we could eat later (bc we were filled to the brim with the great food)
We will be back for the fish fry (didnβt even know they had that too!)
Bravo for making this day so special!

-We had our wedding reception at Hubbard Park Lodge on 05/31/25, and along with all our wedding guests we had an absolutely wonderful time! The food was all phenomenal, the staff/team was awesome, and the venue itself is a beautiful and historic gem right off of the Milwaukee river.
-Our guests loved the neat 2nd level open-view balcony surrounding the main flow, and also enjoyed the outside patio with some nice evening sun! We had no issues fitting 150 people with a full buffet style setup (which is max for buffet style, traditional style I believe you can fit 175). Everyone had a great view of the action, and looking back on it I wouldn't have rather had our wedding reception any other way.
-It was NO problem after dinner to tear down tables to create a dance floor; in fact we even were able to get some great golden hour pictures outside while the team quickly and smoothly took care of everything! There was plenty of room, including enough for a FULL group photo.
-From start to finish the Hubbard park lodge team treated us well, and we had no issues with communication (or any notable concerns). They were also super accommodating the day-of by helping store our homemade desserts AND allowing/helping move materials in during off hours, which was deeply appreciated. We really thank the whole team and have also attached some pictures to really show the wonderful setting that Hubbard Park Lodge can offer for your event!

Hubbard Park Lodge is a Milwaukee classic - nestled in a hidden-away, wooded park full of old-world charm. Sitting along the scenic Milwaukee River, it offers a feeling of escape, just minutes from the city, yet worlds away. Entering the park through old stone tunnels feels like stepping into a quieter, more peaceful world. Once inside, the Lodge welcomes guests with soaring cathedral ceilings, a cozy wood-burning fireplace, and a spacious veranda overlooking the river. As a wedding photographer, I am constantly evaluating venues by how photographic they are - and with its rustic elegance and casual charm, it's a warm, inviting space for any celebration. Whether planning an intimate gathering or a lively reception, the Lodge is a great choice!

Hubbard Park Lodge is a special, special place. We held our wedding reception here in March 2025 and had a 10/10 experience. Our guests walked through the tunnel and along the river at golden hour, and the lodge couldnβt have been cozier on a chilly evening (the live fireplace was perfect!). Working with Chris leading up to the reception was so smoothβhe happily answered all of my questions and was both attentive and easygoing throughout the process. I was so impressed with the execution of the reception, as well as the friendliness and diligence of the Hubbard Lodge staff. The food was great, the bartender was a blast, and the banquet staff were welcoming and eager to help with last-minute requests. Our guest list was around 140, which felt perfect for the spaceβour guests loved the upstairs seating. Hubbard is a hidden gem, and the prices are hard to beat (especially in winter). I canβt recommend Hubbard enough for your wedding or next event!

We went there Jan 13, 2025, for my dad's 82nd birthday!π π₯³ They had taken the tree down, but it was still beautifully lit up inside with Christmas lights! The packers were playing, so it was a very quiet day. Let me just tell you that this is a hidden gem! The waitstaff is so friendly and amazing. The food is buffet style on Sunday brunch with everything you could want to eat. I started with the door county cherry french toast bread pudding...I started with it because every time I go here, I am too full to try it from all the other food. OMG π± This is soooo π₯ π₯ π₯ !!!! I could have just eaten that. It's sooooo yummers! But of course, I had to have an omelet created just for me. Let me tell you this, I can't stand turkey. Literally, I hate Thanksgiving food. They have the absolute best turkey!!! They carve it for you or ham or both. I could eat their turkey anytime. I don't know why it's so good, but it's a must every time I come to Hubbard Lodge. You must have it with the mustard and the cranberry sauce. They also have cheesy hashbrowns and cheesy biscuits. They have gravy for the biscuits and eggs, bacon, sausage, and other fried potato cubes. They also have tons of fresh fruit and even cereal. It's a hike to get in there, but you can request a golf cart. The beer garden and outside dome seating were open. I highly recommend this place, and it's always my dad's choice for his birthday!

Best fish fry on the East Side since Klinger's East closed. The cod dinner, clam chowder, and potato pancakes are amazing. Generous portions as well, no skimping on the amount of food. Walleye was just OK. Sometimes the service isn't great with long waits, forgetting items, and sometimes moody staff who may be overworked and underpaid for the jobs they do. There was one situation where we tried to order 90 minutes before close and were told that orders were no longer being taken which seemed to be pretty early to close the kitchen down. Always do take-out rather than dine-in. The atmosphere is fine but there is a strange smell that pervades the establishment that I just can't handle. Overall the food is excellent though!

I recently had Sunday brunch at Hubbard Park Lodge. The food was great and the buffet price is very affordable for all of the options you get. There are stations for meat carving, omelets/eggs, fruit and cereal, hashbrowns/potatoes, bacon and sausage as well as pancakes, waffles and donuts available made to order. The service was great and the lodge is currently beautifully decorated for the holidays. I would highly recommend eating here!

I use to love coming here for the last 5 years, I still do but I just get so frustrated with the man at the egg station. He NEEDS help at times the place is not so busy so imagine at the busier times. You wait far too long for your eggs to come to the table. We were done and full by the time our eggs were delivered. I come here often and bring family and friends most times. Itβs also something theyβve noticed and become frustrated with. There was a particular time the normal gentleman wasnβt there and there were 2 Hispanic men in his place and they were seriously on it! Get that man some help.

I have been brunching at this place for 30 years. The walk to the lodge is enchanting and the ambiance inside is hard to match. The brunch today was lovely. The carving station turkey was out of this world, the ham was a little on the dry side and unfortunately none of the chafing dishes had signs indicating what was inside so everyone had to open each one. The handles were sticky and did not have a cloth napkin tied to the handle like I have seen done at other buffets.
The omelets were made to order and delivered to the table while still fresh and hot. The fruit all looked and tasted fresh and amazing. Do not miss the Wisconsin has browns or the bread pudding. Youβll be sorry if you skip either! Start your meal with a mimosa. We tried the cranberry mimosa and it was very good. Dan our server was clear, friendly and efficient. Used plates were removed in a timely fashion and waters were refilled. Unfortunately the reason I am giving only a 3 is due to the cleanliness. There was a cloth napkin behind a park bench outside on the walk leading to the lodge. Overall the dining room appeared well kept but the hall to the restrooms has a dank smell and food on the wall. In the restroom there were bulbs burned out, cobwebs under the stalls, giant cobwebs stringing from the light above one stall all the way across to the light above the other stall. Also a wire hanger in one of the stalls like there was a party last night or last week. It gave off the feeling of a park restroom which had been locked for months and just opened. Last, and I understand the lodge may not own or be responsible for this but the tunnel that takes you from the parking lot to the lodge has many cobwebs and other things hanging, and the bottom of the walls are very rusty. I guess if I owned or managed the restaurant, I would take responsibility to sure that the path my guests took was clean and inviting. Overall our family enjoyed our experience. We went to celebrate momβs 81st birthday. I noted that in the comments section when I made the online reservation, but no one at the lodge brought it up or made any gave any special attention to us or my mom. Missed opportunity.

Sunday brunch positives:
BEAUTIFUL location, a real pleasant little walk to the lodge.
Very friendly and polite staff.
Ok food.
Negatives:
Ok Food.
We were told to drop off the omelette requests and someone would bring the omelette. That doesn't happen. It sat at the station getting cold until we went to pick it up.
Getting plates cleared wasn't great. When staff doesn't have to take orders or run food they should be quicker grabbing plates. I actually had to drop or tables off at the bar twice.
The Brunch is listed as until 2pm and we had a 1:00pm reservation. Obviously it takes a few minutes to be seated, have a server come to explain brunch and get drink orders etc.
At 2:00pm EXACTLY chairs were put up on the tables all around us...no better way to say "leave, you are not longer welcome". Do better.

We dined at Hubbard Park Lodge on 8/2 for the Fish Fry with another couple. One person in our group of 4 expressed great dissatisfaction with the service and food. Our server was very gracious and apologetic. She alerted the manager who came to our table immediately to hear the complaint(s), apologize, explain and compensate. The manager remained calm and respectful even though our friend relentlessly bashed the lodge, food and service. Our friend was disrespectful and rude. We disagreed with his complaints and felt embarrassed. We are new residents to Shorewood and especially love the park system and beer gardens. Please accept our apologies for our rude friend and keep up the great service you provide to our community.

Beautiful setting in park. Lots of hills, pond old buildings. Plenty of parking and bicycle parking. Accessible. Well maintained.

We made reservations for a traditional Milwaukee Friday Fish Fry. We were a bit confused on arrival as there was a wedding reception in the lodge, but they set up in the river club building and outside when that is the case and we were seated quickly. Service was attentive and quick - we got our appetizer (fried cheese curds) and dinners quite promptly. Fish fry includes both fries AND potato pancakes - a big meal! The 1-piece polka band added some atmosphere but was a bit loud for the room. We will return!

My wife and I had our wedding at Hubbard Park Lodge, it was fantastic! The service and food was great, the staff were incredibly friendly and thorough. We felt the price was very reasonable. The location itself is beautiful, they set up the ceremony right next to the river which was perfect. The actual Lodge itself was very nice, they have a balcony inside that wraps around three quarters of the space which created some great photo opportunities and our guests loved! They also have a nice outdoor deck area with standing tables which was great! The event space coordinator was very friendly and responded quickly to all of our calls and questions. Overall we had a great experience, you should definitely consider Hubbard Park Lodge for your wedding space!

We (group of 6) rented an outdoor bubble. Apps and drinks were good. 2 people ordered the meatloaf which they enjoyed. 4 of us ordered the fish fry combo. Honestly, the only part that was very good was the cod and coleslaw. The walleye, coconut shrimp and rest of sides were average. I would go back and order the cod dinner in the future. Overall, a beautiful setting and fun, enjoyable evening w friends. The guests that were in the lodge were able to enjoy a polka concert that included 1 one man band and bubbles!

We enjoyed the Sunday brunch. The made to order omelettes (or scrambled eggs) offered many ingredients including salmon, bacon, tomatoes, peppers, multiple cheeses, onion and were prepared well. The carved turkey and ham were tender. The mustard and cranberry sauces complemented the meats well. Potato options included vegetable and cubed roasted and cheddar hash browns. Sausage was tasty and bacon was perfectly cooked. Chicken and waffles was really crispy and cinnamony. We shared an order for a taste between 4 adults and would get them again. Pancakes were average. The French toast with apple topping was amazing! Fruits and vegetables were very fresh. Plates were cleared quickly, but soft drink refills were never offered. I enjoyed my adult coffee beverage (tight sweater I think it was called). My husband said his bloody Mary was ok. We intend to go back again.

Sometimes the food here isnβt as good as other times. But when itβs on, itβs on. Itβs rare to have a long wait for a table at this hidden little gem of a place. Itβs also rare to walk away disappointed. Pretty decent old fashions, at a very reasonable price. But the real beauty is everything else about this place. The history of the building, the park, setting along the river, the beer garden outside, it all, adds up to a lot more than what you see at first glance. Plus, where else do you get to walk through a tunnel to get to dinner? And itβs right on the bike trail! Plus itβs a fantastic event venue. Though I may be biased in this regard.

Sunday brunch. My party of two, and several others, waited a LONG time to see a server. We were seated in the balcony. Waited 30 minutes for a cup of coffee. The omelette was very dry and overcooked. It was hot as heck in there. I donβt like leaving bad reviews, but the reality is the experience sucked. I figured this place would be a slam dunk with all the positive reviews. Maybe it was just a bad day for the lodge.

Wow. I really wanted to like this place as it was recommended to us. It was just so bad. Not sure there even was a manager. They said they were short staffed but I couldnβt even get a water from our waitress. We saw our waitress a grand total of 2 times. And the staff standing at the bar and complaining was unacceptable. The food was good although the selection was limited. The owner and/or the management failed.

Brunch Buffet for 6 was awesome, but our very nice server really ignored us ( I finally went up to get our last omelet lying on table before it was cold) We had to ask for bill too after a long wait w cleared table...

Was sad occation saying goodby to a friend. But what an outstanding venue. A beautiful building in a peaceful setting. Was great place for lunch, a few drinks and to visit with old friends. I would like to return before the end of summer to have a beer or two at the beer garden right next door. Glad to see there are a few places like the lodge in the city.

We just had our daughter and son in law's vow renewal ceremony at Hubbard Park. We would like to thank Chris and his staff for all of their hard work and efforts to make the day special! They jumped in, figured things out and went above and beyond for us that day! So many commented on the beauty of the park setting as well! We would definitely recommend Hubbard Park.

One of my favorite places on the east side but who ever is running it right now is running it into the ground. No patio open on a Friday night. Hardly anyone in the place should have been my first clue it was always packed before. Wait staff forgetful. ordered a spritzer white wine. no soda in my glass of wine. comment of," my fault she probably couldn't read my writing" does not instill confidence.
The worst was the baked cod. It literally was so over cooked it was hard on the top . Had to dig a little out of the middle. My friend ate none. Potato Pancake wasn't pretty good. Fries with the one Pancake was a surprise. Please fix this mess. I love this place.

A fantastic dinner. Seriously my spouse is incredibly picky and he was blown away by the tenderloin. It was one of the best meals we've eaten out in a couple years. The environment is warm and inviting. Delicious mulled wine was perfect on a cold spring night. A beautiful, natural setting. We will definitely be back.

My friends and I had a great experience eating dinner at Hubbard Park Lodge! Delicious food, unique menu, friendly service, and a beautiful cabin-inspired space. This place is a real gem of the Milwaukee area. In the winter-- get dinner or brunch in the lodge or domes. In the summer-- get beers in their beer garden.

Impressive grounds built right on the Milwaukee River. An ambiance full of warmth and hospitality that makes you feel at home. An array of items on the menu, heated domes for small parties to dine in. A fish fry that is a must try. Three businesses in one area. Host your events here and impress. Ask them about their other businesses in the Milwaukee area. A top class establishment.

My wife and I recently had our wedding here at Hubbard Park Lodge and it was absolutely amazing, especially considering COVID-19 and potential staff issues that was brought from it. Everyone at Hubbard was extremely nice and helpful, and the ceremony/venue itself was beautiful. It did rain on a little bit on our wedding day, and they went above and beyond to make sure everything went well. It is super affordable, and the food was absolutely amazing. I loved everything I ate, but in particular the Teriyaki Salmon was highly complimented from almost every guest that tried it, so shout out to the chefs! I highly recommended having a wedding here.

We are so glad that we chose Hubbard Park Lodge as our wedding venue. They were extremely helpful and accommodating from the first visit up until the day of. The staff on site for our wedding was absolutely wonderful- Dan and Christy were so attentive and helpful. My father had ended up testing positive for COVID so he was only going to be able to see the ceremony if it was outdoors. Despite crazy rain forecasts, Dan worked with us and they set up a tent and went and purchased many umbrellas in case it did rain during the ceremony. They truly went above and beyond and we are forever grateful. We recommend Hubbard wholeheartedly!

Sunday Brunch for 4 at 10:30 am was a HUGE disappointment. Menu of any kind not provided to us but given to other guests. Fritatta, what fritatta? Other food was good though. Adult beverages were never mentioned. A handful of ketchup packets were dropped on the table when asked.
From parking lot you must walk through a dark and dirty tunnel to round the corner and see overgrown weeds everywhere and trash on the ground. Restaurant entrance is poorly marked too.
They really have a lot of work to do to try and pull out of this pandemic and meet customer expectations. Good luck to you.

We had a Sunday brunch @ Hubbard Park Lodge and the experience was Ok, nothing special.
The buffet was very small with very limited choice of food which is understandable due to pandemic but the food quality was good.
Just don't try their coffee, it's so bad. It tastes like Folgers right our of the container with skim milk as a creamer...π€’π€’π€’

What a wonderful place to come upon while on a walk along the river.. βΊ was visiting milwaukee for the weekend and i was super happy to stumble upon this lovely beer garden in the middle of the woods. Plenty of places to sit. Huge beer glasses. What more could you want. Its a 5 dollar deposit for the big glass.. Return the chip n get your 5bucks back or trade the chip and a 15 dollar difference to keep it. We brought one home. π»
