I only had pho but It was okay. No chili oil. Thats a no no for me. Would i recommend this place to my friends? Probably not. Night life might be fun though. No parking because it's at a corner. Everything is over price for what they're serving. Its not something to remember. Thumbs down. Might be first and last time.

Food was just okay, it was lacking in flavor — very fresh though. My husband got pho and the broth was good and balanced, however the brisket seemed old and flavorless and the meatballs tasted like they had gone bad. Vibes were good but they only get you so far. They do have nightly specials which could be cool for the bay view locals. I like spending money on delicious food so I’ll continue driving down to Chicago for Vietnamese.

The Hue food truck catered a private event at my home for 95 guests, and it was outstanding. The food was excellent, and everyone raved about it. They even brought little candy boxes for the kids. The owners were a pleasure to work with, both during the planning process and on the day of. Highly recommended for special event catering!!!

We have been going to Hue for the last several years after moving to the area. It is one of our absolute favorite spots to dine and carry out. I will say the service can be meh, but we’re pretty lax on things like that. Our usual order is the shrimp summer rolls, beef pho, and seafood curry. Everything is always fresh and consistently high quality. Their menu is approachable for those who are not experienced with Vietnamese food as well, it is well worth trying if you enjoy Asian food!

Hué is a go-to for us at least every two weeks or so. The beef pho is full of flavorful broth and they are generous with the beef and toppings. The crab Rangoon always hits! With their variety of affordable wines, beers, and boba teas, there’s something everyone. Such a gem in Bay View whether you’re doing take out, delivery, or dining in!

This is one of the few places where I can go and know I will not get sick-dairy allergy here! I love the fresh spring rolls-very tender and fresh and you can ask for things to be left out -like I don't tolerate lettuce. I have had the Friday fish fry before- perfect flake, texture and taste-slightly oily but it is a fish fry. I love the Banh mi sandwich-the veggie meat tends to be on the saltier side-but they listen when you don't want onions on the sandwich-or extra veggies. The prices are a bit high, however location might be part of it, and the ingredients are always fresh. The service is hit or miss, and sometimes slow but always friendly. I have had the fried rice-7 out of 10, the Veggie Pho 6 out of 10, I do not recommend the Chicken Curry-very little sauce and not very tasty. It would be nice if the owner took some time to thank his reviewers for their kind words and their continued business.

Came in Sunday night at around 7:45pm. It said they closed at 9pm but when the waitress sat us she told us that we had to have our order in at 8. We asked her if she’d prefer if we just went somewhere else, we didn’t know it was so close to closing and we both have worked at restaurant and didn’t want to make them stay. She said it was fine and just the kitchen closes at 8 but the restaurant doesn’t. We sat and ordered right away and got our food quickly. Our waitress was really nice, but a little after 8 they started turning the lights off and then at 8:15 they brought the check. I had no problem paying right away, but this other employee kept circling our table waiting for the check. She circled us like 4 times immediately after the check was put down. I don’t think they even gave us a minute to pay it. Then after we paid and the receipt for the tip was set down and that same employee was just standing at our table staring at us. Like at our table staring at us. It was so awkward and unbelievable. I’ve worked in many restaurants, and worked with many bad waiters who try to rush people, but never seen something this apparent and rude. She even took my soup before I was finished and she tried to take my moms soup too but she was able to stop her. My mom mentioned to her that we told the waitress at the beginning that we’d just go somewhere else if it was too late and the girl said nothing and just turned around but was still standing right at our table. It was so weird and awkward and rude. The pho was also served barely warm and it wasn’t bad, I mean I ate it all, but it definitely wasn’t that flavorful or that great. We really wished they would have just told us that they close at 8 and to go somewhere else. We were so rushed and so weirded out it ruined the night. We would have much rather gone somewhere else that’s open later. So just post that you close at 8pm and not 9pm if you pushed us out at 8:15pm.

Got the Beef & Meatball Pho. It was good, but a little bit more pricy and lighter on the bean sprouts than I'm used to at other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. Service was fine and I was with a group of 6 people total and they fit all of us in one area. I drink water/soda really fast at restaurants, so I wish they could've provided a bottle of water for us to refill our glasses vs waiting to ask for a refill. There's easy to find street parking within a short walk on the side streets.

Overall, everyone enjoyed our food so if you're in Bayview or nearby, come check it out! Also recommend for takeout!

Our server was great and I was happy that they had a gluten free menu . I have celiacs so it was nice to clear up any confusion . They do not have a dedicated fryer if anyone is concerned with cross contamination . Personally I was fine and the food was great . They have these crispy rice coated shrimp and they were excellent ! They also have a selection of soups made with rice noodles that I want to go back and try . Ooo and don't forget your Boba tea !

Food was “ready” for pickup but my partner had to wait an additional 20 minutes. I ordered beef pho with veggies (paid extra) and it wasn’t with the order. Also the fresh rolls are huge, not very tasty and as you can see in the photos…not wrapped well. You can find better for cheaper.

We tried Hue Saturday night. Let me preference by saying Vietnamese is my favorite type of food and pho in particular.

It wasn't super busy when we arrived but there was a large group ahead of us, so the hostess/server had to spend some time rearranging tables. Once we were seated our server took our beverage and appetizer order. We had the pork egg rolls and the rice flake shrimp. The egg rolls were crispy and well stuffed. The flavor was rich, but I didn't think the sweet chili sauce they were served with was the best accompaniment. The same sauce was served with the shrimp, which I thought that was a much better pairing. The shrimp were a decent size, crunchy and a bit sweet. I liked these.

My entree was the beef pho. It came with a very small plate of bean sprouts, lime, Thai basil and jalapenos. I could definitely have used more of the sprouts and basil. The pho was good, it wasn't great. It just didn't have the complexity and silkiness of some pho. That being said, I still ate it all, so I did like it. My dining companions had the vegetarian fried rice and lemongrass seafood. They enjoyed their entrees.

Our server was attentive and checked in on us multiple times.

Very disappointed by the banh mi. It looked like they literally threw the ingredients into a wrapper and called it a day. Half of it was spilling out and I could barely eat it without dropping sandwich fillings everywhere. The ingredients were poor quality, there was almost no sauce and the bread was no better than a supermarket roll. For $16, I expected more.

Pretty awkward service for overpriced and ‘ok’ food that I would prefer to get elsewhere in the city.

Food: overall bland. Ok appearance. The dumplings were the best part and just “ok” when compared to dumplings across the city. Especially when considering the price. This is Vietnamese food ofc, but if I’m craving Asian cuisine, I’ll 100% be going to Thainamite or Rice and Roll. Fair prices and great food and staff.

Service: staff was all standing around. Server seemed clueless to basics of human interaction. Pretty cringy experience. No plates. No silverware. We came in to relax but it felt like we had to direct her job. 😅

Atmosphere: super cool potential here. The bar is cool. Patio seems interesting but idk how it would be sitting on the busy street of KK with no views. Interested in background of the owners. Heard there’s potential for culture vultures here, but I can’t confirm. Hopefully, best of intentions here.

Overall lukewarm experience that I won’t spend the money to return to again unless there are insane specials.

After reading some of the reviews, I was anxious to try this place out. i'm a huge Pho fan and have tried just about everyplace in the city.
The Pho here wasn't too outstanding. I just couldn't taste the depth like I can with other Phos. I thought it didn't live up to some of the rave reviews. The service was excellent. The waitress was really hustling.
The need to put the common condiments right on the table. I had to ask for fish sauce and got a little container. Any other Vietnamese restaurant in the city will have this on the table. Chopsticks were an option instead of the rule. This too is unlike any other Vietnamese restaurant I visit.
It wasn't terrible, but just didn't live up to the hype I was expecting.

Came here for lunch on Sunday. I got the Beef Pho with added buck choy, carrots and mushrooms. Let’s just say that this was the COLDEST pho soup I’ve EVER had.

Every time I go to a restaurant to get pho, it’s the piping hot broth that gets me going, yet at Huê…this broth was so cold, the mushrooms that was added was still raw. The soup tastes okay, and the lime that was given had barely any juice.

Would not recommend coming here for the pho. Two stars cuz it was edible and the place was clean and service was nice. Pretty pricey for my experience. Perhaps the other food may be better.

However, my server was very nice and tentative. Provided great service.

This will be long & I GENUINELY hope the manager sees this.

First & foremost this restaurant has great food, all around great Pho when it’s a good broth day BUT the service W O W…

I will never come back because of the service I saw today, not to me but to another table around me. It’s shocking to me how a server who is working in a Vietnamese restaurant is actually racist to VIETNAMESE people??? Are we kidding? I actually had to apologize as a person who runs a Japanese restaurant on how the server was towards them.

Here’s where we are at,

My partner and I walk in, they were ALREADY sitting, ordered etc
After we received our appetizers the table asked the server how much longer for their food, the server then said “I wasn’t paying attention to your table but I’ll go check” in a very passive aggressive tone.

THEN HERE COMES THE GOOD PART, their actual server comes out of the kitchen and proceeds to say “you ordered ribs, they take a while” but not to the actual table… no no she said this all the way on the other side of the restaurant.

The kitchen is on the other side of the main dining room & the table was located by the window.. you’re joking? You actually have that much disrespect as a human being to make a scene instead of walking over and speaking to them…
Interesting

What throws me off is they gave them the food with no fork, no napkin, no chopsticks. When the family’s son goes to ask where he may grab them, the server says oh they are right under that cart? Are you the server or are they? Why are you there? Why are you having US guests tip you?
Seeing this table get that type of treatment when being the ONLY non white group in the building while others there were being properly serviced with utensils, smiles, & respect is heart wrenching.

As a restaurant owner & someone who’s worked in the industry literally my entire life I say this to the manager alone! DO BETTER! Get better staff or retrain them. I did your job today as a manager and apologized for YOUR servers and offered them to come dine with me for a better and respected service they should’ve gotten off the bat! Absolutely disgusting

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hue Asian Kitchen, a Vietnamese restaurant located in the heart of Bay View on Kinnickinnic. I was immediately struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere, and the friendly and attentive staff made me feel right at home.

The spring rolls were light and flavorful, with fresh shrimp and pork. The dipping sauce was delicious, and I could taste the freshness of the herbs.

The chicken pho was a delicious and hearty soup. The broth was flavorful and flavorful, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The noodles were soft and cooked al dente, and the vegetables were crisp and refreshing. I also added some bean sprouts and Thai basil, which added a nice touch of freshness.

The Vietnamese fish fry was a delicious and unique twist on a classic dish. The fish was perfectly fried and crispy on the outside, and the inside was moist and flaky. The fries were also delicious, and they were served with a delicious tartar sauce.

Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience at Hue. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was charming. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Vietnamese meal in Bay View.

The pho use to have so many more vegetables but is now overwhelmed with noodles. So much so that I end up taking half of them out and using them for other things the next day and the broth is delicious but still limited even with half of the noodles taken out.

The condiments they used to give automatically are now upon request which I agree with but I wish they would ask you if you wanted them instead of just not including them at all because I didn't know this policy had changed when I ordered.

The atmosphere I don't find very inviting so I usually just get a drink at the bar and order take out. Their previous location was much more charming but this new atmosphere is more industrialized and cold. Due to the lack of options I'll likely still order from here once in a while but it still leaves me wanting something more.

Delicious food, unlike most places every time I go I try something new and never have been disappointed. A favorite though is the Summer Roll. Try it with the vegetarian meat, you'll be surprised! The Lemongrass Beef Banh Mi is amazing as well!

The only thing Vietnamese is the Name, they don’t have the signature dish of Hue, Bun bo Hue, which I was disappointed. I had the pho, which was ok, this restaurant cater to mostly Caucasian, so the lack of flavor and spices is bland.

I thought the pho broth tasted like Vietnam. Yum! The beef was overcooked though.... The waiter was nice but smelled like cologne and I really hate smelling someone's stink when I'm trying to enjoy food. The muscles were good and my dp enjoyed his dish very much.

The curry was outstanding! Appetizers, Summer spring rolls, shrimp, delicious! Kat was the best server and most honest, incredible person, found $100 bill on the floor that had fallen from my purse and handed it to me. ❤️ Thank you, Kat! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A really nice lunch spot. There’s a kids menu, a bar, lots of seating in this sunny restaurant. The art on the walls (and ceiling) is awesome! Very clean bathroom, vegetarian options. We enjoyed our noodle bowls. Easy parking.

This was our first time at their new location and it did not disappoint!!! The food was incredible and if you like a bit of kick don’t pass on the spicy crab Rangoon.

Sydney(sp?) was our taking care of us and was second to none.

We are already planning our next visit.

Hue is such a cool and unique spot in bay view! We walked there and ordered take out and had a beer while waiting. The employees and owners were extremely welcoming, engaging and made us feel right at home! The decor kept my attention too— make sure to look up! The food was phenomenal— loved the taste and texture of the fried rice, the egg rolls were melt in your mouth delicious and the short ribs were great as well! Will definitely be back and highly recommend.

The place is nice. The portions are well but the freshness of some the ingredients were not so great. The limes we received had no juice and you can tell they been out for a while. I didn’t see anything that would make this place stand out from other pho restaurants

Poor service from the moment I walked in, lack of attention while I stood waiting to be seated. Too many tables close together, and also a bunch of empty space. It looks poorly planned and haphazard. Vietnamese coffee was very good, and the appetizer sampler was decent. Got a pork bahn mi, it was slathered in mayo, and I like mayo, this was way too much.
My friend had phō, he said it was mediocre, it looked bland. There was a nice plate of fresh bean sprouts, jalapeno slices, and cilantro.

This was the Thai Iced Coffee and Beef Pho. The skirt steak was really tender and the iced coffee was delish. The only thing is, I wished they had more condiments on the table to add to the food. Also we went on a Sunday and there was only one waitress for the good amount of ppl there so maybe hire another person for that shift. The decorations/murals are also cool inside.

You can’t go wrong with a classic soup and sandwich combo, but if you want something a little more elevated, I suggest you dive into the wonders of Vietnamese cuisine. Your soup: the rich and unmatched flavor of a spiced pho. Your sandwich: the pickley punch of a crisp and airy Banh Mi. While I could write pages on the masterful pho at Huế Asian Kitchen in the Bayview community of Milwaukee, WI, my adoration was reserved for their Lemongrass Veggie Banh Mi today.
For 1:00 on a Thursday, Huế was hopping. The sole waitress was noticeably winded, and the restaurant’s owner was bussing tables. Regardless, the metal tray (like those you’d find at a barbecue joint) loaded with potato chips and the object of my breaded affection came quickly enough that I couldn’t finish my sketch of the distinctly vietnamese moped displayed on the wall. I took a moment to dissect the sandwich– first by hand and then with a bite– to find lemongrass veggie meat (or lemongrass beef if you prefer), pickled carrot and onion, cilantro, cucumbers, jalapeno, and a custom yogurt aioli all on the perfectly textured baguette split like a sub.
The lightly pickled vegetables hit the nose before anything else, but I can’t call it the star of the show. This piece is an ensemble. The sour acid of pickles harmonizes with the sweet tang of lemongrass and the kick of jalapeno, all blended together by the crisp baguette slowly soaking in the flavors, helping each bite to taste better than the previous. It’s a bit of a mess to handle, but what top-notch sandwich doesn’t require a complementary sink bath afterward? But the best part… they’re still experimenting! I stole a second from the owner as he was racing to bus tables to ask about the aioli. “I don’t know everything that’s in it. My wife made it, and she’s still working on it. But I’m glad to hear it’s working!” I genuinely have a hard time believing it could be further improved, but I’m excited to return and see what they do.

Came here with 2 friends and their 1 year old.
Hue Asian was accommodating to our needs with a messy 1 year old. They do have high chairs here.

Ordered pork sausage fresh rolls and their regular beef pho. The fresh rolls were THIAQQQ boys and the peanut sauce is deliciously dense. The pork sausage in the spring rolls taste, look, and feel homemade, not store bought. The pho is really good!!! You know the pho is good when you don't feel like you need to add sauce condiments. The broth is SILKY--not oily--SILKY. You just know when that broth cools, it's beautifully gelatinous as it should be. Not overly salty. Hearty. The perfect winter noodle soup and hangover cure! 👌

Ambiance is casual and chic. A great place to take your family for a casual night out, to take your friends after a night of drinking, and to take your date for dinner and a chat (it's not overly loud or pretentious).

10/10 would recommend.

First time in the new location and it's brighter and more colorful, nice change. We were hopeful the menu had improved since in the old place there wasn't much that was vegan and the prices were a bit high for what you got. I wanted to order the Vietnamese Curry with Tofu since it seemed to be vegan or could be made vegan (there were no little V's or VEG icons on the menu to indicate what was what). Luckily, I mentioned I wanted it vegan when the waitress asked me which meat I wanted. She said the curry had fish sauce in it. She then went and retrieved a secondary menu at the front desk, handed it to me and said these were the only vegan dishes they had. There were about 7 dishes on it and two of them said they contained honey!!!! Um, NOT VEGAN. I laughed and asked why there were two non-vegan dishes listed in the vegan section of the special menu. The waitress hesitated and said, well, maybe some people consider honey vegan. I told her it was most definitely not vegan by any classification and they should take those off of their other menu. So I ended up ordering rice paper rolls with veggie meat and a non-alcoholic Pomegranate Sunrise. My companion ordered veggie meat beef skewers, Mì Xào (egg noodles with stir fried veggies) and a Basil Smash drink. The tiny cup of peanut sauce that came with my rolls was bland and no way could possibly cover the two rolls I received, but the rolls themselves were of good size and tasty enough. My companion said his order was just okay, but he wouldn't order it again. The drinks were very good, though. So all in all, I'm glad we checked out the new digs, but we won't be back.

This place is one of my favorite place to eat. The fried rice was amazing. They even Made it Gluten Free for me. They are very friendly and the space is cozy for a date night. The pho there is also amazing that’s usually what I get but I wanted to try a new thing so got the fried rice this time.
