Everything was superb! The service & food are outstanding! The small plate idea is done exceptionally well here. The quality of the food, creativity, flavors & presentation are fantastic. Excellent wine list & drink menu. Eruption red blend & the cucumber vodka drink were really tasty! And I left my credit card there & the manager drove it over to my home. And that’s 45 min from the restaurant. Second time I’ve been there & will be our go to place from now on! Loved it!

Went to ID for my birthday and it did not disappoint! The food and our servers were great. You know when a server waits at your table for you to ask questions and suggestions and it feels like they have all day? That’s how they make you feel l. We ate slow and never felt rushed.
The atmosphere was phenomenal and so classy :) everything we ate was delicious and so unique! Definitely a traditional tapas place so be prepared to share. The cocktails are also so yummy and the menu is seasonal and rotates often so be prepared to come back and try new things.

My wife and I celebrated our 45th anniversary at I.d., and could not have been more pleased. The food was excellent. The tempura foraged mushrooms fantastic. Korean BBQ lettuce wraps delicious. This is a tapas (small plate) style restaurant that is unique. The modern/urban feel gave a great vibe. I brought customers here and what a great place! We have traveled, and lived in Chicago for many years. This is the best restaurant that we have ever been to. The chef is a true genius! To say the food was phenomenal is an understatement. The blend of fresh herbs and seasonings is out of this world. Everything is made from scratch combinations of herbs and spices are unique art. Stylish spot with a thoughtful menu and one of the better atmospheres you’ll find around Lake Country. It’s got the kind of modern, open-kitchen energy you expect in bigger cities, and they do a nice job bringing that vibe to Delafield. Food’s creative, often very good, and the cocktails are well-executed.

That said, something about the experience just keeps it from being a home run for me. Not sure if it’s the pacing, the occasional dish that feels more clever than satisfying, or just personal preference. Still—definitely worth trying, especially for occasions or group dinners. It’s a step above most places in the area, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to someone looking for something different.

I.d. was the most wonderful birthday dinner. Our server, Mike, was warm, friendly, and gave us an in-depth overview of the menu and what to expect. The views are lovely, and the food is absolutely outstanding - I don’t even know where to begin! Everything was bursting was flavor. The Japanese milk bread is light and pillowy, topped with the bone marrow butter added an acidic, smoky addition that paired nicely. The tempura mushrooms were excellent (my favorite dish of the evening), pork bao buns offered the perfect bite, and the Korean tacos were a fun build-your-own way to end the dinner. We received an unexpected slice of chocolate cake to celebrate a birthday, and the white chocolate mousse dome was the most beautiful way to end our time at I.d. Everything was amazing and I am looking forward to returning soon.

Please understand before I begin the only reason these are not full stars will be explained but do not take it as a derogatory for the quality offered.

Let's start with atmosphere and ambiance. It is a very attractive space that while simple holds a nuance of quality. The main bar seats roughly 16, there are secondary standing tables that are decent for lingering but are in the center so you could feel like you are in the way. A good variety of tables for the average crowd they have. The clientele are varied as well due to the establishment being part of one of the higher value hotels that hosts numerous events year round. Great for off hours business meetings with a few more private side rooms.

Service...this is a touchy subject for some. The staff treat you well and are very kind to new and repeat customers. With that in mind please don't always feel you need to be center. In my multiple visits sometimes they are handling some staff issues, other times they are on point with every aspect. I will say, if you do not know fundamentals in etiquette of getting a bartender or servers attention politely..please learn. They are all knowledgeable by my experience and if they don't know then they will try to get you an answer.

Ah the food. Pricey, BUT the quality is undoubtedly present and there has yet to be a dish disappointing my taste buds. The chef experiments with curious concoctions that work surprisingly well. Always be sure to ask for any recent interesting recipes or new things. While they would dominate in a quality burger...this would not be your local dive food place you customize the order.

Equal in quality but stark contrast to the kitchen the bar holds it's own in my view. Drinks have high quality ingredients, liquors, and a reasonable range of beers. Be advised to ask about the flavor profile before dipping your toe in. They will absolutely work with you. At least two new concepts are on hand for some event or celebration, keep your eye out for them.

All this said, high quality and a great experience. The two downsides I've seen and heard. Occasionally some people have felt they were not seen/served fast enough or felt the staff were attentive more to regulars or internal discussions. The atmosphere...when it is crowded, it can get loud, so be aware of this.

First time back here since Covid. Glad that we did.

Had reservations for 7:00 and got in right away. The dining room had a few large/noisy groups, but they were finishing up and things quieted down. The decor is very classic but casual. Good greeted by our server and ordered a set of drinks.

The menu had plenty of items that we liked. There were 4 of us, so we ended up getting 6 different items, and then dessert. Each of the items was very good. Each item came out at a good pace, they were hot, flavorful and good portions. The Lamb Noodle Dish was a favorite, along with the Tacos and Pork Belly Bao. And if you get the Bread Service you will definitely want to try the Smoked Bone Marrow Butter. Great service the entire time (thanks Mike).

This was our fourth visit, and unfortunately we will not be returning. We made a reservation for an anniversary dinner on a Monday night at 6 pm, and were seated at a poor table right behind the host stand. We asked if we could move further into the almost-empty restaurant, and were told no! Then, our server could not possibly have rushed us more. The restaurant focuses on small plates, which a diner should be able to order leisurely. Instead, our server asked us to order more food three times in five minutes. After 20 minutes, we paid for our drinks and two appetizers (tasty) and left. I reached out privately to the restaurant online with these service concerns, and never even received a reply. Tonight was my first experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere and decor was nice, food was delicious, but the service was very poor. From the moment our server came over to our table, he seemed irritated to have to wait on us; only a table of 3. He didn’t make any effort to ask what brought us in tonight, didn’t explain the menu, didn’t make recommendations. He was very short tempered and had a condescending tone to his voice. Didn’t offer to get a new drink when the glasses were empty, in fact they forgot to even deliver one of our drinks and didn’t even acknowledge it. Wife and I had just returned from a trip to New England meant to be a foodie retreat, however, we were disappointed with almost every meal over the two week adventure.
This meal at I.d. came at the perfect time.
The service was great, although I’m sad to say I forget our wonderful waiter’s name. He had a top-tier dad joke for us, so maybe that narrows it down.
The food was fantastic. Definitely recommend the pork bao buns and the Cajun shrimp scampi but all of it was absolutely awesome.

I'm not a huge fan of shared plates and this place proves why. It's outrageously expensive for the amount of food you get. Usually I only go there for drinks but after last night, I will no longer do that either. One of the bartenders has given me the cold shoulder for two years now. There is hardly any interaction, greeting, or politeness. This isn't a one off situation. This is an every time situation. And sometimes I sit there for fifteen minutes waiting, with an empty drink, while everyone else is helped multiple times. I'm over the poor attitude and service. Mother’s Day brunch was disappointing. Fixed menu. Limited choices and very disappointing dishes. Strawberry gazpacho sounded interesting but tasted terrible. No one in our party could eat it. Salad was so so and underdressed. My husband got sick after eating the duck and was in bed for the afternoon. Crab cakes were good but the shrimp and grits were greasy and oily. Not appetizing. $270 for 3 people and mostly awful food. 2 of us had 1 drink each . Won’t do that again. Love the setting though. Need to be more consistent with the food and not make people sick!

I don’t want to share this but it’s not right to keep this place a secret given how much work they put in.

The menu changes over time and is heavy on small plates but there are some more substantial options for entrees as well.

My advice order a few small plates that sound good. Try a bread and butter pairing. Order and entree or two to share, and plan on some dessert. They have small ice cream servings as well with things like honeycomb lavender for $2 for a small scoop.

Think of going here as an experience, try some things that are outside your comfort zone and have a great time.

For a date using the strategy above dinner was 120 including tip and drinks. Very good value for a wonderful experience.

I can't speak to the value or the quality of the food. When we arrived we were promptly informed they didn't open until 5. We had been told the bar opened at 4, which indeed was the case, but when asked if we could sit outside we were promptly told NO, so we went to a high top in the bar and again we were told NO. Only seating available is physically at the bar, which is about a dozen chairs, but not comfortable for 3 people to have a conversation. It was 4:45 on a Monday with the place empty you would have thought being the "upscale" place it pretends to be, that having a cocktail at a High top in the bar would be no big deal. 4:45 or not, most places in this town are very guest friendly and most have outdoor seating. We opted to leave and go down the street to one of the many fine other establishments. Found lots of people willing to serve us and to let us enjoy the seating of our choice. We also found other places for dinner, which were very good. I see some of the other comments highlight the atmosphere as questionable as well, and the food as good. I think they are probably right on. Good food in this town isn't hard to find, so go where you are comfortable and treated like they want your business.

This restaurant was rather nice but there were some missing things. While I really enjoyed the service and overall quality of food, I don't know if I'd recommend it. It gets extremely busy and exceptionally loud. There is also limited room in terms of seating arrangements. The ambiance is also nothing special, especially considering that they position themselves as an upscale place. I think I would not visit them again because of these circumstances. It felt like some typical Wisconsin bar due to noise factor and sitting in very close proximity to others.

I haven’t had the pleasure of dining in awhile but every time I’m been it’s been amazing. I was really happy to read they made 52 restaurants to hit in Milwaukee this year. Very well deserved!!!

Caveat - New Year's Eve, but maybe that is what made the atmosphere worse. Music was so loud (speakers above each table) we had a hard time chatting with friends. Service was average, left us with empty water multiple times and food was delivered by other individuals. Food quality was good, except for the pork belly (do not suggest). There are much better places for high end food, service, and definitely atmosphere for $150 per couple.

I live a short walk from the restaurant, which has become a favorite of mine in the Delafield area. It made it a natural pick for my birthday dinner. However, tonight was a huge exception. From the time we ordered, it was a mess. The appetizers were late (which wasn’t a huge deal to us, but the server told us we would get “free” desserts. Great, no problem. But then…. The food came out before the appetizers (despite the appetizers being ordered at least 15 minutes before the main dishes), we were asked if “anything could be boxed” with forks still in our mouths. Dessert was offered before any plate was finished. Despite having allergies and being previously told “dessert was on us” due to he above, was offered the chocolate cake dessert (not possible due to allergies). The bill was brought without asking and then the aggressive (and new) server informed us that she would be leaving and needed to tab out, after which a second person (long grey beard with pony tail holders) tried to get us to tab out, and finally, our bill being transferred to the bar at our request - where the bartender (who even came to our table for the rest of the night!) graciously took care of us. We had a 8:00 reservation and we’re out they door at 9:40 after a wonderful 40 minutes of the bartender not rushing us out and allowing us to finish our bottle of wine. Ironically, we tried to make a 6:00 pm reservation and were told they were booked, which is the only reason we settled for 8:00 pm.

Unquestionably good... from the apps to dinner to dessert & French pressed coffee we have loved it about 3 times now. Menu changes seasonally. Kudos to the wine guy!

The tapas plates are unique with fantastic flavors. My wife and I usually order 3 different plates to share. We love it here.
