Visited 4 times and had all different food and drink options each time. Smash burger, fries, and curds are worth while but all other foods I tried were subpar and just seemed like typical bar food. Not terrible just nothing special. Foods I tried: salmon (not bad, a little bland), Brussels sprouts (pretty good!), chicken wings (seemed like frozen) w/ buffalo sauce (just red hot), Caesar salad (wilted Roman lettuce), turkey wrap (not good). Maybe the $55 ribeye isn’t worth it??

Aight so we pulled up to Jack & Jenny’s, and real talk — there were a few bumps early on. Orders got twisted, communication was kinda fumbled, lil chaos moment 😭. But you know what? Strength through adversity, my guy 💪🔥.

Our server Jesse? Absolute unit. Dude stayed cool, funny, locked-in, and turned the whole thing around like a pro. Polite, chill, cracked jokes, kept the vibes high — real MVP energy. Man took what could’ve been a mid experience and made it a W.

The food? Bro… unreal. Burgers were gas, cheese curds were straight-up spiritual 🧀😮‍💨. Whole place had solid energy — they even had the Brewers-Dodgers game on. Brewers were getting cooked, as usual 💀. Honestly, might be karma for their fanbase being, y’know, a little too old-school Midwest sometimes 😬🇺🇸.

Anyway, between the curds, the vibes, and Jesse’s comeback story, I almost forgot I once held the love of my life in my arms… and then absolutely fumbled her like a dropped interception 💔😭.

Hands down, the best smashburger I have had! I got the Oklahoma Onion and my husband got the Classic Smash. Mine was exactly what you would want from a perfectly done smashburger; caramelized edges of beef with the juiciness and flavor you expect. The onions were generously placed on top, with enough cheese to make the burger have that balanced creaminess and sweetness one craves. Together, with the buttered bun, it was pretty much perfection.
My husband enjoyed the Classic Smash, but for me; too many toppings. My advice, keep it simple and let the star of the show, the burger, shine.
I also had one of their signature Old Fashioned's and it was really good. This was a true Old Fashioned. But fear not my Wisconsin friends! They also have our version of one too.
If you are downtown Janesville, you need to stop in. We can't wait to go back.

My first visit. We went for the fish fry. I was certainly not impressed. The fish and the fries were both very greasy. The breading fell off the fish as soon as you touched it. The coleslaw was awful. Service was a bit slow but our server was sweet. I wouldn't recommend and I won't return.

Last night (9/13) was our first time at Jack and Jenny's. The food was delicious but the service was amazing. I want to give a HUGE shout out to our server Jesse. He was amazing. Always had a smile on his face, gave recommendations, and just went above and beyond.

The staff was very friendly and attentive! The food was amazing! My brother and I sat at the bar for lunch and a drink to celebrate our birthdays. The smash burger I ordered was so good, one of the best burgers I've ever had! The interior was just completely remodeled and was very well done. From the bar chairs to the decor and bar itself, they really spent some money on this place, and I will definitely be back soon!

We just had an appetizer and it was okay. We didn’t have dinner so I can’t comment on that. Drinks were solid. Bartender was very friendly. Vibe was a little meh for a Sunday afternoon. All TVs were set to something that was probably on the night before.

I really like the vibe/atmosphere here at Jack & Jenny's came here to check out this new establishment. First impression was "wow"! Impressive scene with modern style and holding some form of downtown history. The food was great but feel that prices were a tad high for "pub" food as compared to other similar establishments. We visited around 3:00 pm and didn't think it was busy, we ended up seating ourselves and waited awhile before we for any service. Our meals were bought out at separate times, my wife was half way through her meal before I received mine. Service was lagging. Perhaps being that this is new, give some time for staff to be trained and improve to 5 stars.

Unfortunately our food was so good we did not capture pictures! We used the restaurant as a halfway meeting point for family and I’m so glad we did! I had a feeling with a smaller condensed menu they would do things right and I was right on! Turkey club was so crisp and tasty. Burgers were done great! Taters good. Service staff was busting their butts for a busy Sunday lunch (and apparently a call in), but they apologized as they felt they needed, but understandable! We did order fries with our meal and they came after we finished, but they were taken off the bill. No worries as we were all full anyway.
We would recommend bee traps for the patio. I know it’s the season, but traps may help a bit.
We will be back! Would recommend!

​Jack and Jenny's is a new local spot with a great vibe, fantastic service, and some standout dishes that make it worth a visit. The restaurant strikes a nice balance between lively and comfortable. The modern decor and comfortable seating create a great atmosphere, and while the music is loud enough to be energetic, you can still have a conversation without shouting.
​The service here is truly top-notch. Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable, not only offering great suggestions but also sharing personal modifications she would make to a dish, which was a nice touch.
​For drinks, the Banana Foster Old Fashioned was a unique and delicious twist on a classic, tasting exactly as described. The Cherry Chocolate Old Fashioned was also good, a nice take on a classic Wisconsin-style old fashioned.
​The food, overall, was a mix of hits and misses, but the hits were memorable. The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich was a genuine highlight. The "hot" is no joke—it's got a real kick and is packed with flavor. The use of dark meat instead of breast meat made the chicken incredibly juicy and flavorful. Paired with a delicious and texturally satisfying coleslaw, this dish is a must-try. The quality of the chicken is consistent across the menu; even the kids' chicken tenders used dark meat and were so good that I'm bringing the leftovers home.
​The side dishes were equally noteworthy. The "fancy fries" were a huge hit at our table, loved by everyone. The mac and cheese, while a bit under-seasoned for my taste, was good despite the lack of salt.
​The appetizers, however, had some room for improvement. The cheese curds were good, but I wasn't a fan of their thick, mayo-based dipping sauce and felt a classic ranch-style sauce would have been a better fit. The onion hay stack was a bit soggy, and I personally felt the dipping sauce that came with the curds would have been a better fit for the onions, though my wife disagreed.
​For the main courses, my wife's Oklahoma Smash Burger was tasty and hit the spot. My daughter's ribeye was beautifully charred but, like the mac and cheese, was under-seasoned and cooked a little closer to medium than her requested medium-rare.
​Overall, Jack and Jenny's has a lot going for it. The service, atmosphere, and a few of their dishes—especially the Nashville Hot Chicken—are excellent. While some dishes could use a little more attention to seasoning, the potential for this new spot is huge. I'd definitely return, if only for that chicken sandwich!

Me and my wife tried this place for the first time and ordered a Reuben sandwich and a Turkey club both were ok but nothing special and kind of over priced. In my opinion there are other local restaurant that are competitive in price but exceeding in quality. I would like to add we did order carry out which we got quickly and perhaps in house experience might be better.

Each Sunday my family and I pick a new restaurant to try and this week’s pick was Jack & Jenny’s.
Based off the reviews we were excited!
Sunday afternoon and there was no crowd. Perfect!
When we entered, there was music playing, and TVs playing various sports which were all muted.

Right off the bat, we were told our server had worked there three days. Ok cool, not a big deal.

They were out of champagne. Alright. Moving on.
We tried to order the chicken wraps. Also out.
There was a confusion over what they were out of. The chicken or the wrap. It was the chicken.

Picking something new, my daughter, ordered a grilled cheese. She was not given the option of two cheeses and just got American, which would not have been her first choice. She wasn’t even asked.
They also don’t offer white bread, which is crazy.

Probably 30-35 minutes later all the people that have now come into the restaurant, have their food. We’re sitting there waiting for a grilled cheese sandwich and tots, an order of tots, and a club sandwich with some fries.
Finally they check on the food. They told me it’s a system error. Which is absolutely insane to me because you see us there without food for over half an hour and no one in that restaurant thought to check up to see where the food was??
Yes, they comped an eight dollar order of tots.

One of the waitresses also made a comment saying “oh this is what you get when you just open on July 3”. That attitude is what will sink a restaurant.
Take responsibility. Please.

The food overall was average. Had I not spent close to an hour just waiting on food. I might have felt differently about what I was given. It was not worth the wait.

Also, halfway through our waiting experience, the music stopped, and the only thing we could hear was blaring baseball. Except it wasn’t on a single tv around us.
I guess it’s a sports bar? I have no idea, but unfortunately it won’t make our Sunday rotation again.

Wife and friends visited for an afternoon cocktail and had a disappointing experience. The staff had a bad attitude from the moment they walked in the door when the hostess/waitress said "the kitchen isn't open yet. did you read the sign on the door?". The bartender had never bartended and they had to look up basic drinks which were not good. They ended up having one drink and going across the street. Unfortunate because the outdoor patio is excellent but the staff is not.

Jack & Jenny’s is exactly what downtown Janesville needs. The beautifully restored space, with its patio filling in the “tooth gap” on Main Street, adds warmth and character while bringing new energy to the area.

The ambiance feels cozy yet modern, special without being stuffy. The food is excellent, and the service is even better—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. I also love that you can order from both Jack & Jenny’s and Genisa, making it easy to find something for everyone.
