You gotta check out this awesome restaurant in Milwaukee! I had stuffed shrimp, cheese curds, halibut, and chocolate cake. Everything was amazing! I'm not a fan of cold cake, so I took it to go so it could warm up to room temperature. The pan-seared halibut was the best thing ever. Definitely recommend it.

We stopped in because we heard their food was very good. It was fantastic! It was a Friday, and fish fry was their special. The cod, perch, and walleye were perfectly battered and seasoned. The soups were very good (beer cheese and chicken dumpling) and do not miss the dessert tray! Had the pistachio torte and peanut butter brownie and those were very tasty. Atmosphere was a plus and the staff was attentive, informative, and delightful. I would highly recommend and plan to visit another night for cream of duck soup and the prime rib!

Anniversary stop. The prime rib was great. The mushrooms not so much. The fresh bread great, salad, baked potato all great. Really friendly waitress Rachel? Upstairs. She works hard up & down those steps w trays of food. The whiskey old fashioned we lovely and we got desserts to go, but we're surprised they were $10 each when the bill came.
We will be back, it was a nice meal, comfortable and went early (Thursday) so not too crowded.

The bakery dessert selections were amazing.
Saturday prime, I did not order. However it was ordered by my other half . I am not a big meat eater but it was fantastic. Melt in your mouth, with flavor.
Spinach salad was very good. Heavy on dressing but flavorfully.
Manhattan and lemon spritzer very good.

We've been going here less than we used to as the fish is some times great & other times over cooked. We decided to try something different this time i got an appetizer as my meal & my husband got Steak as his meal. There were only 2 of us, we both had our own items & were charged a $6 plate charge. We ordered sauce for our steak & it came in a tiny sauce dish & we were charged $4.00 for it. It wasn't even enough for the 12oz filet that was ordered. We both ordered the Spring Sangria the 1st round tasted like all juice & soda, the 2nd round actually tated like there was alcohol in it. Disappointed in being "nickled & dimed" as well as the consistency of food & beverage quality not being what it used to be. 🙁

Then our table was right next the bathroom and someone must’ve been either stuck or locked themselves in the bathroom since staff would come and go continuously knocking and calling for him to come out. First time here. A little wait but that gave our party of 4 a chance to mingle around the bar.
Great Brandy Old Fashions. We then were seated upstairs which is really cool. The waitress was incredible and really attentive. We had an appetizer which tasted amazing.
3 of us had the tenderloin meal and I can say we all were really impressed with the flavor and the correct temp. We were offered a large tray of different desserts but chose to finish with an after dinner drink at the bar. Espresso Martinis and Grasshoppers were awesome.
The bartenders were super friendly and made great drinks. We cannot wait to go back with more friends. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

The waitress on 1/24/25 around 7pm was absolutely terrible. We made reservations a few days prior for 4 people and we got there and it was busy but again we had reservations and she’s like we only take reservations for 5 people. We said we did make reservations and she’s like who did you speak with when making the reservation but of course I didn’t catch that persons name and she’s like well we don’t take reservations for under 5 people and then says if you don’t like it go somewhere else!!! Their Cowboy steak is now a very thin cut, so expect it to be overcooked. My husband ordered medium rare and got medium well done. Steak fries were cold like they'd been sitting around. We did inform our server but it's not his fault, right? I ordered the Seafood Scampi. There was no butter, no garlic, no wine or broth (of any kind), no lemon, no good. I'd be happy to forward a scampi recipe to you, since you obviously lost yours. It used to be excellent. The seafood was just okay but I sent back all the pasta because it was so starchy, it was gross. No, I dont want a box to take it home. Pasta is my favorite food in the world and I sent back all of it. We kept going back (we've been going there since 2017), hoping maybe it was a turnover in cooks or meat suppliers. This is the 3rd time we've ordered these exact meals and been completely disappointed. What's the definition of insanity? It's doing the same thing, over and over, expecting a different result. Sorry Jailhouse three strikes, you're out. I give up! Tonight's bill was $85 and it was totally disgusting. Our server did give us a $10 gift card towards our next visit. That's going unused. Can you recommend a good steak house?

I live within 2 miles of this restaurant and hadn't been there in a few years so we decided to go there for a friend's birthday. We had a group of 7. Everyone enjoyed there food except for me. I ordered the Seafood Scampi with a salad. The salad was fresh but extremely small portion, like 4 bites. Then my main course came out I tried a scallop, it was very fish tasting not fresh. Then I tried a shrimp very overdone. Like a frozen shrimp reheated in the microwave. The pasta was swimming in a half water, half buttery sloppyness that tasted awful. When the waiter came back to check I informed him that I didn't like it and would like for him to take it away. The waiter asked if I would like a box I declined saying I wasn't going to eat this, but thank you. Thinking since I didn't eat really any of the entree, nor was taking it home the bill would reflect this. NOPE!! $30 for my meal. The server said he talked with the manager and they've served 10 of these entrees that evening and no one else complained, so they weren't going to offer any compensation. They could only offer a $15 gift card to use on a future visit. Needless to say, I WON'T BE GOING BACK!!

I’ve been coming here for years and never had a problem until my recent visit. The owner is extremely rude and unfriendly who states “the customer is not right” at that establishment. I was served undercooked food and everyone at the table INCLUDING the waitress agreed that it was undercooked. My wife and I have been here many times over the years but after last night's visit, we will not return. Our waiter was indeed kind and pleasant but the overall service was awful. After being seated and waiting for quite a while, I ended up going to the bar for our drinks. The salad that came with our meals was tasty but it was the smallest salad I've ever had. My walley was very good but it was also very small. My wife's grilled swordfish was awful. It was chewy and very fishy smelling and tasting. Three or four bites of that and the rest remained. Appetizer was good. The wait for the food was ridiculous. Overall, a very poor dining experience.

We had a reservation for right when they opened, and the hostess already seemed over her job. She sat us and was very curt when I asked for a high chair. The food took over 30 minutes to come out. Everyone's meat was undercooked. I asked for medium rare and mine was mooing still. I never complain about food, so I would have eaten it still, but it was cold on top of being rare. I asked for it to be warmed up, without even mentioning the fact that it was barely cooked. They brought me a completely new steak, medium rare this time, but the temperature was the same. Barely warm. Like they had a bunch of them made up ahead of time and just hand them out as people ask for them. Giving 2 stars because the waitress was very nice, informative, and attentive. She didn't make the food. But we definitely will not be going back here. Way too expensive for the quality of the food.

We came as a party of 7 tonight! Terrible experience! We got our appetizers before our drinks to start.. then she took our order and one person in our party got a wrong drink so he ordered another.. then we got our food.. still no drink.. he finally got it when he was almost done with his food!!! We needed more water during eating she never came back at all to see how we were doing until we were done for most part.. this is at least 20 minutes later.. soup was OK at best... took another 15+ minutes to get boxes for food. Food was not the best especially for the cost. Got bill she still never came back husband went to find her to pay bill! I never until tonight seen a steak like I had that looked like it was on the reject slab.. and it was bland. 3 of my kids had the Alfredo and it was dry.. they asked for more sauce and it took 20 minutes to even get it! Bad service. Bar and drinks were great. My husband said prime rib was good but you only get a spit of aus jus.. he wanted more but waitress never brought it. It was my birthday.. we weren't even offered desserts.. which i seen her take to another table earlier...it was my birthday so i probably would have wanted one!!!! I wanted a great experience with my family... got not even close! 😔 Texas road house would have been better. Sad!

Waited an hour for my food. Tried an old fashioned and it was only three ingredients, they didn't even put simple syrup in it, and it was a "sweet" old fashioned at that. Why ask sweet or sour if you won't make it proper anyways? Had to send the first one back because it was bitter as hell. Tried the "warm me up buttercup" and it tasted like nail polish remover... Another in my group got the blackberry old fashioned and you couldn't taste any berries at all. The drinks here are God awful but the swordfish was decent. My group got charged an 8 dollar credit card fee, so pay cash when you come here. For the prices of their drinks you'd think they'd maybe make proper drinks, but all 3 cocktails my group ordered were depressing. Their only soda selections are coke and sprite. They said it's company policy that they can't split checks either, so be prepared coming as a group. Also, if you're gluten or dairy free, go elsewhere. Overall very let down with this restaurant.

It was my first time. It was such a great might. We showed up at 7:00pm just as a crowd was leaving .....score for us. We waited 15 min on a Saturday. Food was great, atmosphere was great, bartenders great and our waitress just wonderful. Props to the Chef for my perfect steak and my word when I saw the dessert I thought it was so big so people could see it really good lmbo. I was wrong the dessert is that huge:). We had a great night. We will be back soon. I regret no pics sorry

Our server, Jake was excellent. The seafood chowder was a nice consistency and flavorful. I ordered the broiled seafood trio (scallops, shrimp, and haddock) for $28. The scallops were cooked nicely but the shrimp had sat under a heat lamp for too long and were over by quite a bit. The haddock was absolutely hammered and effectively a brick of cat food. The entire plate was covered in large shavings of parmesan. Not a good pairing. It was served on a large plate with all the seafood spread out. The result is cold food in around 4 minutes. Absolutely horrible dish from conception through execution. Such a disappointment for such cool ambiance and quality service.

This place has been on my bucket list after hearing good things from several people. It didn't disappoint! I thought we went early enough to beat the dinner rush, but it was a Saturday, so I really should've made reservations. It was an hour wait, but it went pretty quickly, and the cocktails while waiting were excellent. Everyone working seemed very efficient, and the food was all very good. I was too stuffed for dessert, but took some to go and had it for breakfast the next day. 😂 Overall, great experience and worth the wait!

I went to the Jail House with a couple of friends. This is a really cute place LITERALLY in the middle of nowhere.
We waited about 20 minutes to be seated - which I thought was a decent amount of time. We were able to get a couple of their signature, "Blackberry Old Fashioneds" which were good - but I thought too pricey at $8 each.
The service was good. It was a busy evening (Fish fry Friday) so I expected the service to be lacking, but it was not. We got our drinks in a timely manner and our starters, salads, and entrees came to the table at a reasonable pace.
My main dish - the bone-in ribeye - was perfectly seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium rare. My side was not as impressive. I ordered the loaded baked potato, and out came a potato that was quite a bit smaller than another at the table.
The meal, with drinks and dessert (do NOT skip dessert!) was very affordable. I thought the menu prices were unbelievably low, given the quality of the visit.

Dinner was 7/15/23. Reservation was for 7pm. We were taken promptly and seated on upper level. It was very noisy and hard to hear the server. We ordered promptly including drinks, appetizers , and main dishes. Prime rib was out which is a Saturday feature. Special was beef tenderloin.
The appetizers were ok. Not a fan of the bruschetta but the others enjoyed.
We ordered 2 tenderloin dinners, and 2 New York strips. The tenderloins were a little tough and maybe under the lamp too long(we think). The New York strips were good(one medium rare was perfect).
Approached once after initial visit to refresh drinks. Another younger gent filled water.
I asked for more butter and server pointed out we still had some. I was thinking that was a bit judgy considering we had multiple people at the table and all that was left was the cinnamon sugar version.
Desserts were offered but were mostly left overs as the better options were once again out.
Disappointed this time around a bit but willing to try again but not weekends.
