Great place for food and the atmosphere! We sat on the deck and enjoyed the shenanigan's on the water. Food was really good! Cocktails were also good. Service, on a Friday night was so so. I believe they're were a few newer staff members. Still, our's was good.
I recommend if you are in the area, stop by. If you plan on going in advance, make a reservation on Friday and Saturday nights.

Just 2 of us passing through decided to try it out. Lovely restaurant with a beautiful view that is very clean. Husband ordered steak, and I ordered garlic pasta with shrimp, and both of us ordered French onion soup. Our french onion soup was disappointing as it didn't have a beef broth and lacked flavor. My husband's steak was good. My garlic shrimp pasta was very salty and only 4 medium sized shrimp on top which was also salted. The menu said it was a parmigian garlic cream sauce, yet it was not cheese at all.
Service was kind. Just disappointed on the taste, or lack of, in food. Such a beautiful place, and looks like they must have some type of music or entertainment outside, maybe on weekend. I will try it again if we come through this way but we will stick with steak and try the salad.

We went to Jake's for dinner tonight after being away from this area for a year. It was nice to see the changed seating arrangements. We've been there before many times, and liked the menu choices. However, tonight the $16 sandwiches ( pulled pork and French dip) looked like something from the children's menu. And salty! Everything including fries was overloaded with salt! Jake’s is a beautiful property on the lake! We had high hopes for a fun night celebrating my mother’s 81st birthday. We were taken care of by 2 waitresses (maybe one was training?) They never said why. We got served our appetizers (good) and salads with no bread basket (all others around us received bread.) I had French onion soup and it was excellent! I also ordered Ribeye and loaded mashed potatoes…again, excellent! The members of my party who ordered prime rib said it was overdone, and the loaded baked potatoes were hard and pre-made (no butter.) At the end, mom was given a choice for a slice of birthday cake. We waited forever and never got it! They finally brought out the tabs but still no cake! SO WEIRD! At that point, we just left. So, it was a night of mixed reviews from the 8 people in our party. We traveled from Minnesota for a special supper, but after last night, we won’t come back to Jake’s. Indianhead in Balsam Lake will always be our #1 supper club…

We had the pleasure of hosting our wedding welcome party at Jake’s Supper Club, and we could not have been more impressed with the level of service and hospitality provided. With a group of over 40 guests, coordinating such an event could have easily been overwhelming, but thanks to the exceptional efforts of Peter (the owner) and Maisah, everything ran smoothly and beautifully.

Their attention to detail, clear communication, and genuine care for our experience made the evening both enjoyable and stress-free. The food and drinks were excellent, the setting was welcoming, and the staff was courteous and efficient throughout the night.

We are truly grateful to Jake’s Supper Club for helping us create such a memorable and meaningful start to our wedding weekend. We would recommend this venue for any large gathering or special occasion.

We came here because it’s on one of those “top 10 steakhouses in Wisconsin” blogs. I figured it was clickbait based on the AI generated statements, but I like meat. I also like road trips. So we came. It was ok. Not top 10. Not horrible. Just ok. I ordered the T-Bone, but received an F-Bone. It was missing the meat on the left side. The temp was good - medium rare just like I ordered. The quality of the meat was comparable to other fine dining; guessing USDA Choice. If it was Prime then they screwed something up. Sides were good. Service was great. I’d come back and give the ribeye a try if I’m ever in the area, but it’s certainly not worth a couple hour drive for.

We just left, 6/16/2025. Absolutely no service. Sat there waiting for 30 minutes to at least a drink order. Nothing. BTW, they were NOT busy. I would have felt more welcome had they at least walked by and kicked my shin. I wanted to compare the fare to Wilson Creek Inn. (where we ended up). I’m new to the area, but have been to Jake’s in the past during vacation and it was nice sitting by the water. Next time I go, I’ll be sure to wear a flashing LED suit with built in speakers blasting Tom Jones’ ITS NOT UNUSUAL! Step it up Jake’s on the lake. Absolutely beautiful setting, we got to listen to some music while looking out of the water. I will say I was a bit disappointed by the service and the food. We were here with a bigger group celebrating two birthdays. I ordered the garlic shrimp at the same time as everyone else at my table. We had a big group so I expected to wait for food, but 30 minutes after the rest of my table got their food, I still had not received mine. The waitstaff mentioned the order got missed and would be out “right away.” It was not. And then when I received my garlic shrimp, I was extremely disappointed to see the shrimp were overcooked and they did not provide a beautiful bath of butter to soak in as the rest of my crew received with their garlic shrimp meal. The shrimp was flavorless and chewy, but the risotto was good. I wasn’t expecting anything to be marked down but maybe an apology or I don’t know some sort or way to apologize for my food coming out 45 minutes after the rest of my table. I received nothing. All in all, music and vibes were good, but the rest was a let down.

You walk in, and BOOM — spotless. You could eat a steak off the floor. Not that I would — I’d have them bring me a plate, of course — but you could. The tile? Shiny. The grout? Perfect. Not one crack. You don’t see that kind of attention to detail anymore, folks.

Did not disappoint. Fabulous cut of meat. I do have a couple small complaints. 1. What the heck, NO hashbrowns?? 2. This is addressing the maintenance staff, REALLY shaky table in the old dining room. Waters were very close to spilling. Old fashioned was one of the best we've had. All of our steaks were done wrong, (all ordered med-rare) one some it was inedible without the sauce. One was over done the third was barely seared.
Lettuce in salad was slimey
Fettuccine was way too salty
One plate was cold.

When they served me a dish with an allergen (I had been told the dish was safe) the manager couldn’t be bothered to come to the table.

My wife and I went here after getting a gift card from our realtor when we moved here. We went to Jake's expecting this great experience to be utterly disappointed.

We walked in and found no one at the reception desk. We waited 10 min and I went to the bar to ask if anyone could seat us. We waited another 15 min for the host to finally come out of the back and got asked "What are you here for?". Seriously the worst first impression a place could make.

The food itself was only ok, definitely not worth the price. Overall one of the poorest dining experiences we have ever had and at a place everyone raves over. Maybe we caught them on a bad night, or maybe this is normal. We won't go back to find out.

I visited recently around Easter time and noticed a lot of outdoor patio furniture and tiki bars, so I am anxious to stop by in the summer now and see the atmosphere outdoors.

Upon arrival we did have a reservation for a group of ten, with two of them being disabled. They sat us in the furthest back table and there were only 3 other small groups in the whole restaurant. After we ordered our waters it took about 20 mins to ask if we wanted appetizers, we ordered 2 plates of cheese curds. It then took 30-45 mins to take our meal order. We asked for more water when we finished ordering, then after 10 mins of waiting one of us went to the bar to ask again for more water to be brought to our table. When she went up to ask she said the worker was just flipping through the tv channels. Once our food was brought out it wasn’t very warm. I ordered the garlic shrimp, they were very tough and over cooked. I received 7 shrimp a small cup of beef broth soup and some french fries for $25, I feel that was very over priced for the amount and quality of my meal. It was disappointing that a 20% gratuity was automatically added to each of our bills, since the service was lack luster. We were at the restaurant for 2 hours, far longer than any of us wanted to be there. Sadly the only thing nice was how the place was decorated.

My family ordered Jake's Thanksgiving take-out meal for 10. I was very impressed with the quality, quantity and variety of the food. Visiting from Texas. I have seen “supper club” for restaurants so I decided to try it out and boy am I glad I did. Went with family. I was able to enjoy a perfectly cooked steak topped with sautéed mushrooms and blue cheese crumbles. The mushroom risotto was delicious. My wife also enjoyed the same cut of steak with a side of loaded mashed potatoes. My sister in-law enjoyed a ribeye steak cooked to perfection. The tomato basil fettuccine pasta was enjoyed by my son. My youngest enjoyed the prime bites. The drinks were perfect as I enjoyed multiple old fashions. We passed on the ordered sides as we didn’t want the Fettuccine to get cold. The utensils were a fork and serrated steak knife, not exactly what you need for pasta. When we were finally able to get the attention of a bus boy (The server was distracted and spread very thin amongst a lot of tables), we asked for a couple of tablespoons to be able to properly eat our pasta. The bus boy showed up with teaspoons. Normally, Jake’s is better than this. Tonight we were disappointed. The last two times we’ve eaten there have been underwhelming.

What an adorable little supper club overlooking the water! As soon as we pulled up outside, I knew this was a great place. Beer selection and mixed drinks were decent and we had the shrimp appetizer which was amazing. Everyone I dined with liked their meals. Overall, great ambiance and relaxing dining experience. Highly recommend and we will be back!

I always love my experience here! I always try something new and it's always on point. We love their steaks and this time I tried the chicken with artichoke. The staff was so nice too and in summer you can enjoy the view of the lake.

I wanted to thank Jake's supper club for ensuring I didnt get a chance to spend my money there. We enjoyed a concert at the Mabel and I called at 4 to make reservations at 8 spoke to Sophia and she told me the kitchen stops sending out food at 8pm. I explained we are going to a concert and she said she would put me down and 8 and tell a manager if there was an issue she would call me. We left the concert a little early we arrived at 7:50 walked in no host, stood there for 6 minutes no one said hican I help you we got the eye avoidance from every employee. Finally at 758 a server comes up and says she will go grab a manager that they stop serving at 8. She disappears never to be seen again. A few minutes later the bartender asks are you 2 looking for a table....... He goes to grab someone never to be seen again. In walks the hostess with a tray full of dirty dishes from clearing tables and she says hello, my wife has the specials card in her hand and asks if they still have prime rib, she says yes; then a manager rudely walks up says we will seat you but our kitchen closed at 8 so we will need to turn and burn. So my wife and I sit down and our server comes out and with the worst attitude (She wanted to go home) takes our drink order. Then asks if we are ready to order or if we want an app (We ordered the prime bites) then she goes grabs our beverages and my wife ordered the Shrimp Fettucinne I ask my wife if she would like a salad or anything as the server didnt ask and she asks the server does it come with a salad "No" the pastas do not come with a salad my wife like pulling teeth asks is there a house salad she can add .... well yes I guess do you have Blue Cheese umm yes. I say I will have the Prime Rib. She flatly and rudely states they dont have Prime Rib. Now lesss than 5 minutes ago they did...We tell her that were were told they did and she trudges off to the kitchen to check. Then came back and matter of factly and triumphantly says nope we ran out. At this point I say ok I will have the ribeye. She scribble it down doesnt ask me about any sides. Then a loud conversation between employees
"I thought the Kitchen was closed at 8pm directed at us.".At this point we have had enough and my wife and I tell her that her attitude sucks and we got up and left. I told her thanks for nothing and ruining the evening. Obviously the $150 we were going to spend there wasnt worth them taking care of us. If I hadnt called to ensure this would be OK I might be a lot less upset but to treat people this way on a Sunday and closing the kitchen at 8pm in the middle of summer ??? BTW the website says your open until 11 and does not mention when the kitchen closes.

We moved back to Menomonie, from Arizona! We wanted to go check out Jake’s and we were not disappointed! The food was great, the atmosphere was SO fun and beautiful! Our server Meshal (dark curly hair) was SO awesome! He was very kind, funny, and engaging with our little girls! He is really fantastic at his job! He made our experience wonderful! We can’t wait to go back! Thanks, Meshal!

Whenever I have family visiting we make it a point to go to Jake's. I had company last weekend and we made the drive up there. We did not have a reservation, but they were still able to find us a really nice table with a view. The food is always excellent. My only critique would be the lack of Gluten Free options. One of my guests has Celiac disease and it was impossible to find a meal he could eat. There were no appetizers or salads that he could trust so he just had to wait for his entree while everyone else got to dig into their pre entree items. Drink options at the bar were also limited (but not non existent).

We went to Jake's on 4/20/2024. Cool atmosphere and the waitress was great. I ordered the pork chop and it came out less than half cooked. I sent it back and the manager brought it out, the same pork chop I may add, no apology and he had a discussed look on his face. It still wasn't cooked after the second time. The waitress apologized many times and took it off the bill. The manager never returned to apologize and was rude to my wife on the way out. I left feeling hungary and irritated by the treatment from the manager. He is not competent to be a manager. If it wasn't for the waitress from UW Eau Claire we would have made a bigger deal out of our experience. We were not impressed.
