My favorite Indian restaurant in Sheboygan. Price is reasonable, food is great, service is awesome. We usually do take out but last night we decided to eat there as we had time to kill. Appearances can be misleading. This unassuming little hole-In-the-wall connected to a gas station consistently delivers a full menu of delicious indian restaurant fare. Order at the kiosk and freshly prepared food will be brought to your table. Take-out is a great option too with a good online ordering portal. Most dishes I sampled have been flavorful but not spicy but a vindaloo I ordered with a "spicy" request packed a pretty good punch. Highly recommended.

I've had to change my 5 star review from two tears ago down to a 2. I don't know if the ownership or recipe s have changed... but our last order was awful. In the past the food was wonderful and I've always told people Jay's > The Spices. The food was way too sweet and a totally different color. Jay's was my go to take out. I hope this was a fluke... but I suspect the recipes are now the same as Spices.

I have been craving biryani for a long and I decided to give Jay’s a try.
I ordered curries here before and I remembered liking it.
Their lamb biryani is probably the best biryani I’ve ever had. It’s tasty, meaty and delicious. They didn’t skimp on the meat and was definitely worth what I paid for.
I would come back again and highly recommend the biryani.
As for the atmosphere, the restaurant is small and more appropriate for takeouts.

I feel bad posting a critic of a place I had heard the best. But no, the Indian food was not good at all: I ordered a butter chicken and a tikka masala, and both were not edible. Way too sweet! Felt like the cook had dropped the entire sugar container in the sauce. It tasted like a dessert not a main course dish. And the sauce of both dishes were absolutely identical. Anyhow, based on that experience, the place doesn’t deserve its reputation. Maybe the B-team was in the kitchen? Too bad as I won’t come back.

Everything on the menu is fantastic! Authentic Indian flavor! The value is incredible. The portions are perfect and not costly in comparison to what you are getting. The chicken fried rice , as a side can suffice as a meal, and it’s a great introduction to Jay’s overall offering. The curry is exquisite, and I have a very discerning taste. You can not go wrong with this establishment!

Ok wow! This place exceeded all my expectations and I’ve been ordering here 3 times in a row because of how good it is. I’ve had the goat biryani which was perfectly seasoned, and the goat was so tender and juicy!! I also had the chicken 65 which was sweet but also spicy and amazing! The butter chicken was amazing as well. The portions are huuuuge and can feed a full family. 10/10 definitely recommend

Literally my favorite takeout place in all of Sheboygan. Food always arrives as ordered, with fantastic heat, layers of flavor and fresh as can be. I crave it at least once a week. I can’t recommend their Butter Chicken or Lamb Tikka Masala enough, and don’t be shy to ask for it spicy! Don’t bother going anywhere else, this unsuspecting place has some of the best food around!

Small, but so worth it. My friends found it by going to the gas station next door and we have not stopped talking about it. THE. FOOD. IS. AMAZING. (If you like Indian food). Excellent food in an unsuspecting location!
My friend recommended this restaurant to me. I went with a group and we all ordered different curries to try and ALL of them were amazing, you can’t go wrong! Their naan bread is also freshly made and crispy, it’s a must for any of the curry-based dishes. There are also lots of vegetarian options. The atmosphere is nothing fancy, but the food is incredible!

Each item was tasty, lip smacking. Servers were so helpful and always smiling such a different vibe than usual indian restaurants with grumpy servers. For a change their restaurant has couple of slot machines, in case you want to try you luck.

We were driving by and it was almost lunch time..so a simple Google search brought this up and we headed to the place without a clue about the location..it was hiding beside a gas station and no proper parking lot even so we were hesitating to venture inside but we are glad we did. The naans were so fresh and big and nice and hot. And did I say they were big? 😃The kadai paneer and dal tadka were yummy too! The staff( chef?!) was super friendly!

It's an odd place that if your friend had not told you was Indian food, you'd never believe them & as you approach you have doubts about your friendship.... It has sticker/signs from an begone era that says chicken, pizza & fries, but really is Naan, Butter Chicken & rice.
The food was so good! I'm glad I decided to walk in. The decor is outdated, but it's you are eating the food, you really don't care.

You drive up and park in the lot, and see the restaurant is right next to a gas station and May think “uh oh” what might this be like…but do it! The Indian food here was first rate - delicious, generous portions - the right spice (we had medium). Look if you want a fancy setting this might not be the place for you but if you like Indian food - get to Jay’s and be prepared to leave happy and full!

Very tasty Indian food. Naan was incredible, flaky, moist and great even reheated at home in a frypan. Fish Shrimp curry was supposed to be either shrimp or fish, but online ordering was not clear. Indian cook explained to me that they tried to call my cell to to ask which I wanted. But since caller ID showed some other name I didn't recognize, I didn't answer call. So, he nicely made my curry with half fish and half shrimp, it was delicious over the jasmine rice. Btw the rice came with it, even though the online menu did not say it came with rice.

Check out Jay's before wasting your money at some franchise restaurant like Applebee's or Buffalo wild wings. The food here was incredible and I'll be back many times, I'm sure. My wife and I went there yesterday and I had the Chicken Tikka Masala and she had the Lamb Curry. Portions were great, tastes great, and it didn't take long at all. If you're worried about how spicy the food is, they can make it as spicy or as mild as you want.
Highly recommend if you get a taste for some authentic Indian/Nepalese food or want to try it for the first time!

We only order food on the spot when trying something new and it wasn't different in this situation. We wanted something different and out of the ordinary. We gave Jay's a shot and weren't disappointed. I wanted something spicy but enjoyable and Jay's delivered! Wow!!! What an amazing combination of flavor and punch! We were a little skeptical of this place since it's small and right next to a gas station. But the food was absolutely incredible.

We felt a little weird in the dining room because we were the only customers there, there was no music (it was really quiet), and our food took about 20-30 minutes to cook after we ordered. But it was totally worth it. Our meal was fantastic!! The food is savory with the perfect amount of spice. The naan is buttery, soft, and slightly sweet. Definitely get naan with whatever you order!!

We will definitely be ordering again, but we might do to-go next time. This would be a great place to go for a relaxed meal with friends. We definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic, delicious Indian food.

I'm still thinking about how delicious the Indian food here was two days later. My colleague is currently eating her leftovers and I'm about to jump across the table and steal that plate of food. She says she could take me out, and I may just have to take that chance.

There's a small square on the menu that says Indian Food, with four items and a teasing, 'and more...' We asked what the 'and more...' meant and the incredibly kind owner (and cook?) pulled out a full menu of well-described Indian dishes. A few of us ordered dishes and did a group share until we couldn't fill our faces any more. Everything we ordered (Butter Chicken, Biryani, Cilantro/Serrano green korma, Naan, mango Lassi) was so good.

This place is also very clean and the women who work there are very friendly and helpful. Give yourself a bit of time for the delicious food to cook and then some time to savor your delicious meal. Go with others so you can order a few things and share and then maybe you can steal their leftovers.

Ordered large Chicken Tikka Masala and garlic Naan. The Masala comes with rice. Jays is located in the same building as the Clark Gas station but has a separate entrance. The quality of the chicken was very good. The Masala was flavorful, a little sweet. The rice was good. The Naan was tasty but a bit stale. Jay's sells burgers, sandwiches, subs and pizza. Very friendly service.
